David walked out from the Inquisition chapel, His hands shaking with fury. In his hands, was a Death order from the High Commisars of the Inquisition.
David read the order again, trying to detect a mistake in the target. ‘ These orders cannot be right. This is one person who is wrongly accused.’

David had been training constantly between missions. But this order was different. Alice was never meant to die. It had been Expert’s men who had destroyed the training facility in the Hylia Mountains. The destruction of Royal Square was done by an insider. But it was not Alice. There was a mole in the Inquisition. David had made many people very uneasy in the past with his digging. Perhaps word of it had come to the attention of the Royal Commisars. But how did they know about his relationship with Alice? David was careful to keep his personal life and his work life separate.

He crumpled the order into a ball and threw it into Lake Terra as he walked past. His head was filled with thoughts. If he didn’t kill Alice, He would probably be killed himself. But David knew he had to reach higher to be granted an audience with the fabled High Preist Lord Admin. David had plans for him and his Inquisition.
He cocked his pistol as he turned into the entrance of his apartment. He quietly ran up to his floor and entered his room. Alice was sitting in her chair, pale white, hands clasped over her mouth. Her eyes were full of panic, like she knew what was going to happen.

“I had heard what the church wanted you to do”, she whispered. ‘ I am innocent. You wouldn’t kill me just because they said so would you’?

David drew his pistol, flicked off the safety catch and fired three rounds.

Alice’s face flinched and she fell off her chair.

A body behind her fell to the floor, bullets smashed into its skull.

David flicked the safety catch, and returned his sidearm to his belt. The tinkleing of the spent shells louder then the bullets as they hit the floor/
David knelled down and put his arms around Alice. She threw hers around him and began to sob.
‘ Hey, hey, its ok now Alice. Please. You know I wouldn’t hurt you for the world. I knew the church would send someone to check I have carried out my orders.”

She began to grasp him tighter, not wanting to let go of him. She looked up at David and kissed him.

BANG!!

David eyes went wide as Royal Guardsmen stormed into the room. Their carbines pointed directly at his head.

” Brother David “, one guard said. “Release the prisoner and hand her over to us. She will be terminated for crimes against the Inquisition”

David sighed. One one fluid movement, he had raised his pistol, flicked from safety to semi auto and fired every shot he had in the clip. In less then a second, All the guardsmen were on the floor, dead. All except one. David had purposefully shot him to wound.

” Right you , you are gonna tell me who authorised this order to check up on me and you better do it fast. Tell me before I reload or your face will be sent to your god in little pieces”

” Neve…….”

He didn’t get to finish. A bullet stopped him. But it wasn’t from David’s gun.
A slender woman had just walked in, a black mask covered her face. Her rifle was smoking. David raised his pistol. The sound of a metallic stamp threw the gun out of his hand. Another stamp, and David’s left shin exploded with blood. David screamed in pain. Another scream filled his ears. Alice was bound and gagged and was being taken away by more guardsmen.

” ALICE!!! ALICE!!!”

“Pitiful , David, the fact you would give so much for a lady like her”

” Go to hell, You god forsaken puppet”, David said, gritting his teeth.

” Hell brother David. You are already there’. the masked women sniggered. ” Your death will come from someone you know, but it will not be them. It will be me.”

Present Day. Inquisition hospital. Location Unknown

“You are going to tell me why Expert wants to kill me. And you will do it now.” Diana demanded

‘ You mean you don’t already know Diana? I know who you are. I know what you did.”

” What are you taking about Brothe…”, she quickly fell silent.

” I knew it” David said. ‘ Alice’s capture was on your hands. You did it. It has been a while Diana. Or should I say , Alpha Gam.

Diana’s eyes flew wide. The sense of shock all to apparent.
