David wiped the blood off his combat boots. The destroyed remains of Diana and Blood Dancer littered the room. They were weak. The weak enemies of this one will die. David placed a bloody hand on the cell door and threw it open so hard, it tore itself off its hinges. The sound of clanking iron echoed down the hallway. David began to walk down the hall, every step echoed as his feet hit the ground. David adjusted his helmet and checked his weapon. Apart from the large bloodstain on the hilt, it was in perfect working order. As he reached the end of the hallway, David heard footsteps approaching the other side of the door. Closer and closer they came, until David felt the door begin to move. Quickly David threw the door open, knocking 2 guardsmen to the ground. David fired his pistol, the bullet passing through the chest of one guardsman. Before the other could regain his footing, David kicked him, that guard’s last view was David’s foot hovering above his head. Then down it came.

David continued deeper and deeper into the base, searching for Delta block, level four. He continued walking, all the while, his head filled with the screams of Alice as they took her away that night ten years ago. David stopped at a door to his left. The door read Delta level four. Lets hear it for incompetence of the royal guard. David gripped the handle and turned it. The creak of the opening door made David cringe. It was like nails down a blackboard. He help his pistol ready, and took his first steps inside.

The chamber inside was massive. Every single thing was either a path, a ladder or a machine. In the centre stood a large glass vat. Pipes and hoses connected and integrated with the huge structure. David followed one long gray hose back to its source. It was a large computer, and was displaying a graph that was written in a language that David had never seen. It looked like Chinese mixed up with Korean and Spanish. David couldn’t make head or tail of it. Wait a sec, if this is monitoring something in there…SHIT! David sprinted over to the vat. A limp body was suspended in the colourless gel, a air mask attached to its face. David knocked on the glass. The things eyes flew open. It began to swim over to the edge of its prison. David’s eye went wide in shock. There, suspending in gel, was Alice. David fought back tears of relief as he stared at her. Her green eyes staring back at his dark eyes There only two feet away was his love, his one love he swore to protect. He had failed once. He would not again.

” So you have finally found her David”, a voice mockingly said.

David turned around, expecting to find one of the High commissars but only found……

SS. Standing At the entrance wearing a dark suit and a scabbard at his belt.

” Wait,wait wait wait wait. Are you serious? They sent you SS”?

” Yup ” replied SS drawing a bolt pistol and his sword. ” Now I’m gonna do to you what I did to that werid Chucky doll”.

” What the hell is a chucky doll”? David asked.

” I don’t have a clue, but whatever. I will still kick your ass you little insec-”

BLAM,BLAM,BLAM!!

” Yeah yeah, shut up all ready” as David’s bullets blew SS’s sword, bolt pistol out of his hands and a large hole in his chest.

” God that was depressing. Why do do people always interrupt at the most annoying times. People these days.”, David sighed. David turned around and smashed his pistol but into the glass. It cracked, and David watched the crack travel to the top of the vat. Then a waterfall of gel broke through and drained itself all over the floor. David stood to the side as gel quickly covered the floor before being drawn away from the vat by small drains in the ground. Alice touched the floor as the gel drained away. David ran to catch her as she fell to her knees.

“David”, she said weakly. ” You came “.

” I would leave you for the world Alice. Let get the hell outta here”.

David carried Alice back to the ground floor. He found a service shuttle, and programmed it to take them to the airstrip. He put Alice down beside him and took a look at her. Her body had not changed, yet there was something different about her eyes. The iris’ looked… ragged. David decided to wait for a better time to look into it. As the shuttle began to slow down, David reloaded his pistol and gave Alice his vest. His eyes scanned ahead, looking for points of ambush. Weird, nobody is guarding the aircraft. Something is up here. The shuttle slowed to a halt and David spotted just what he wanted, a Lightning Vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. David picked Alice up, and ran for it. He opened the cockpit, gently placed Alice into the co pilots seat, then jumped into the pilot’s seat and fired up the engines. Soon David was cruising at 5,000 feet and traveling at mach 2.2

I have to leave Alice somewhere safe. I know just the person. Hope Alice doesn’t mind France.

David engaged the afterburners and Alice and him sped into the horizon.
