To even give the blue freaks a chance, we’ll have this battle take place on Pandora. It will emulate what happened in the movie – except this time it’s the Helghast who are invading.

JerkwithNoName also suggested this match but without the AMP. I’m thinking having the Colonel in his suit provides for a better match. In not, we’ll do another match without it.
Anyways, I think this makes for a fairly even fight. MC would have to have some heavy artillery in order to have a realistic chance at victory here. This fight takes place in a jungle setting with limited ammo – no reloads for either combatant.

This match was just too tempting to pass up considering my Avatar Movie Review I had earlier this month.
It’s a rematch between Quaritch and Jake. Jake gets his avatar and Quaritch gets a proper mech this time, a 100 ton Atlas from Battletech.
Jake gets to tag-team with Neytiri as last time.

... more.I initially had no intention of seeing this movie. From all the interviews with James Cameron and all the talk about the technology used to shoot everything in a way so that you could see the 3-D effect immediately wasn’t all that interesting to me.
James Cameron is certainly a great sci-fi director. Aliens, Terminator & Terminator 2 are proof of that. Throw in a little hit named “Titanic” and you have a director who’s at the top of the Hollywood elite list.
Avatar came out a few weeks back and I had some people tell me that it was a great experience. “You have to see it in the theater” they told me. That still wasn’t enough to motivate me. Then, I was talking with a friend of mine who screens Indian movies and loves the big action movies of America who told me that Avatar was one of the best movies he’s seen in a long time.
Then another friend of mine saw the flick and gave me an entirely separate list of reasons to see the movie in theaters – “It’a an amazing experience” was what I was told.
So, I make the trip to my local theater and drop $21.50 for the movie, glasses, popcorn and Coke. The movie opened with a heavy dose of 3-D effects which were nice to experience, but did’t really move the story forward.
SPOILER ALERT –
From this point forward, I am going to talk about key elements of the film and if you don’t want your experience to be ruined, stop reading the post here.
I went into the film with little expectations and that’s what I got. The story was average – in fact, it was Pocohantas and Dances with Wolves done with alien blue creatures. I think I am racist against blue creatures since I hate the Smurfs, the Blue Man Group and now the Na ‘Vi. I know that there are some religious overtones associated with the blue color, but to me these creatures just looked like upright walking cats that could amazingly speak perfect English. Then at certain moments in time, they would hiss or scream. I guess this was done to remind the viewer that they were more connected to nature by acting this way.
Near the end of this way too long movie I began to root for the hired gun marines to come in and blow the shit out of anything blue or resembled the form of a creature with two antennas. I was actually hoping that the mercenaries would create a crater in the “sacred garden” or whatever that white-weeping willow rip-off tree was called.
The 3-D effects? To me, the experience of the flying creatures and plant life shoved in your face got old real quick. Yes, I know that was part of the “experience” of the film. To feel like you were there in person. Guess what? A great story will accomplish that, not some gimmickry.
That was another issue I had. This movie could’ve been twenty minutes shorter if if weren’t for all the gratuitous scenes of creatures walking or flying at you or some plant life shot that made you feel like you were really there. I’m forever grateful that Peter Jackson didn’t have this hard-on when making Lord of the Rings – it would’ve made those films cheesy like Avatar.
Anyways, then we have a major plot issue for me. The sacred white tree or whatever it was called was located in some floating mountains. Near the end when the hired gun marines landed and are headed towards the white tree, some hammer-head animals Zerg rush them from out of nowhere to provide some combat support. How in blue hell did those creatures get up FLOATING MOUNTAINS? Cripes.
Then we have the issue of the hero being “plugged in” read: sleeping to move in the Avatar body. Wouldn’t the hired gun marines just go obliterate all the chambers where the scientists would rest to prevent any more usage? Sorry, on my list of attack plans, that would be near the top…
For some reason, this movie has already made over $1 Billion worldwide. So you know that means a sequel will be coming out in the future. The only way I will see anything related to this would be if it’s Terminators Vs Avatars. And as long as the Blues are getting obliterated during the process.
Easily one of the most disappointing movie experiences I’ve had in a while. I’m betting that Clash of the Titans will be 10 times more fun, but lucky to make $200 million.

The first time on the site for Admiral Kizaru. While he certainly brings some destructive force with him to the table, if Aang is aware of his powers, he might be able to control or defend himself from his attacks. Otherwise, it might be over real quick.

Before you go and celebrate MC’s victory, take a moment to consider Azula’s abilities.
She’s slightly chaotic and that lends to her fighting style. O-yeah, the lightning that she can fire off at the Chief might do some damage too.

In the ‘Avatar State’ Aang is almost invincible – and he could use that against whatever Thor throws at him.
