Superman Prime vs. Galactus? If Galactus was starved, then I think Superman Prime might have a chance, but at full power Galactus is nearly omnipotent. I don’t think Superman Prime would have what it takes to defeat the full force of the Power Cosmic.

Oh god, please no…Not Superwhineybitch Prime!

I’d give this to Galactus though. One click of the trustworthy UN and Prime is put back into Bad Character Hell where he belongs.

Well, Prime is one of the most powerful DC characters ever to exist, but Galactus is pretty much godlike. Prime could probably beat any of the big G’s heralds, up to and incluidng the Silver Surfer, but against Galactus himself his chances wouldn’t be so good. A starving Galactus would have a real problem with Prime, but at full power, or with the Ultimate Nullifier, Galactus wins.

    “Galactus’s costume is badass.
For some reason I just think it is.”

This is a world-eater with the power to destroy galaxies. He could put on a pink frock and he’d still intimidate the sh*t out of anyone inside the Marvel multiverse who was unlucky enough to face him.

Personally, though, I wouldn’t put on a costume like that unless my life depended on it, no sir.

In a crossover with DC, a starved Galactus took Darkseid’s Omega Blast, and didn’t get a frikkin scratch. Superboy Prime is pretty much a comicfied Fanboy. Him as Superman Prime is pretty much the same thing only older and a little bit stronger.

    Galactus hands down.

“Of what import are your brief, nameless lives…to Galactus?”

Since Superman Prime comes from this universe, and Galactus existed before this universe (he is older than even Death, since Death was created the same instant the universe was), and Galactus is basically the power of an entire UNIVERSE in physical form (he bonded with the sentience of the universe in his origin story).

Reed Richards on Galactus: “His power is immense. Incalculable.”

Psycho Man on Galactus: “His power…he could destroy all of us with a gesture!”

Pheonix on Galactus: “You could drain this planet dry and still be no match for Galactus.”

Odin on Galactus: “Galactus is not a being. It is a force of nature.”

The In-Betweener on Galactus: “There is no force in this universe to counterbalance him.”

Johnny Storm, after being granted the Power Cosmic: “Human senses are so far beneath you that you couldn’t use them even if you wanted to. Not without climbing waaay back down the evolutionary ladder.”

Further, it has been said in Marvel continuity that if needed Galactus can consume any energy, from supernovas, to energy beings, to whole galaxies, if necessary.

Seeing as how Galactus himself creates beings who are easily as strong – if not stronger than – Superman in any form (Silver Surfer, Stardust, Johnny Storm the Herald, and Parallax to name a few), my guess is Galactus wouldn’t even notice Superman trying to attack him. That, or he’d just absorb the energy from the yellow sun that fuels Superman’s power and render him impotent.

“That, or he’d just absorb the energy from the yellow sun that fuels Superman’s power and render him impotent.”

Prime uses a special armor to provide him with solar energy even without a yellow sun. Galactus would have to destroy/absorb that armor to stop him, rather than the nearest sun.

Galactus IS energy in a suit of armor that can contain and regulate it. That aside, there’s no way prime is wining this one. He has the power to crush small planets but galactus has the power to crush big galaxies. There’s really not much difference between prime and supes other than the suit which is the only reason he’s more powerful, in some respects, than superman

Indeed Galactus IS energy, but he is not contained by the suit itself (as far as I know). The suit is just the interpretation our humanoid minds can give to the extreme abtract of his image.

Like it was previously mentioned, a starved Galactus might get into some trouble, but any other scenario would surely see him as the victor over Prime.

I’d say that because Galactus’s brother is the Universe-encompassing, powerful “Eternity”, that would make Galactus somewhere around his league. Which means their power-levels would be 10 on the Marvel Comics Power-Rating Chart, but in reality they would go beyond that chart into the multi-trillions rated in the Dragonball Universe. Superman Prime is extremely, immensely powerful and would give Galactus a tough time to fight because of a high power-level that has increased with the power of the sun and how small including light-speed or a little bit over fast which Superman Prime has that would give him 2 advantages to fight toe-to-toe with Galactus. Galactus can read Superman Prime’s mind and know his strengths and any weaknesses (lower power-level and the fact that he can be drained after using so much energy in his body and from it). Both opponent’s strength levels are off the chart. Galactus can teleport, Superman Prime can’t but is super-fast. Galactus has the ancient and deadly Power Cosmic which Superman Prime doesn’t have. Power Cosmic rivals and dwarfs the solar energy from the sun. Depending on how fast Superman Prime is may give him the advantage to last a long time in the fight and make Galactus use all of his energy to become hungry for more planets to satisfy his sustenance. Galactus is a starving mood can suck the energy out of stars and planets around him in mere seconds to where it would be almost impossible for Superman Prime to beat him. Also, Galactus doesn’t necessarily have to be shooting cosmic energy at Superman Prime in physical form; all he would have to do his disappear and make a manifestation of himself into a cloud or a large image of himself that looks like he’s been imprinted on the solar system itself. He would just move and use planets and stars to throw at Superman Prime; I know that Superman Prime couldn’t do any of that. I’d say that Superman Prime has a slim chance of winning because he’s battling a being who is half of the sentient Marvel Universe itself. So, in the end Galactus would win period. And a personal opinion of mine is that Galactus’s robotic uniform with red and blue or purple and blue is awesome looking and looks better than Superman Prime’s uniform.

This fight is already over I believe. Unless, Superman Prime could get help from the Fantastic Four and use the Ultimate Nullifier on Galactus to beat him which is possible, But remember: in reality Galactus would hurry and build up a defense to the Nullifier and also could use and force Superman Prime with his Power Cosmic to obey him and become his herald to where Superman Prime would lose all knowledge of who he really is, where he was born, where he lives, and Lois Lane; everything, etc. Galactus wins. An example of this is when there was a crossover of Post-crisis Superman and The Fantastic Four: Kal-El found out that Galactus was the one who destroyed his home-planet Krypton and in the process challenged Galactus to a duel. Galactus transformed Superman into his new gold herald and made him forget who he was. In the end Superman finally managed to come to his senses and get rid of the Power Cosmic. Galactus is waayyyyy up there compared to Superman Prime period.

Galactus does not need to deal with him physically (punching, blasting etc.). If written correctly, a single thought would do. Also, to the guy saying that SP moves really fast and is an advantage to him, Galactus is a cosmic power and easilty moves at light speed.

mmm you guys are giving prime no credit. he was not only able to break through deminsions but beat countless opponents that would put up a fight against galactus. he killed an entire universe because he was angry at it. anyone who posses all that power would be able to take on galactus. plus if he had his power suit and sinestro core rings he would be unstopable. he kinda killed the monitor which is like a galactus. he abosorbed a guardians power. at his peak of power superman prime would be able to kill galactus and anything else people could think of throwing at him.

If I recall in Secret Wars Galactus drained Ultron’s battery in a nano-second. I imagine he’d do the same to Prime and his armor. That’s my opinion.

Although the way Prime’s stories seem to go. I bet Prime attacks. Galactus drains him, and is about to vaporize him when all of the sudden he instead makes him a herald for reasons that will never makes sense. As Galactus starts draining Earth, Prime screams “I WILL BE SUPERMAN” yet again and then is magically able to somehow overpower Galactus and make him say uncle. In the end Galactus would give up eating Earth-1 and leave. Then Prime would smile in super fanboy style.

Everyone would hate the issue, and lament that it was DC/Marvel cannon.

I dunno what Galactus and Superman Prime yal are reading but it wouldnt be ease or pawn. It took a attack that destoryed the entire universe. Superman prime is fused with the guardian of the universes enegry within him. He absorbed it. Superman made myxptic look like a wimp and destoryed a earth and a JLA in matter of seconds.
Prime could def take the fight to Galactus. However, Galactus has cosmic awareness and can drain Primes enegry out of him or use the enegry from the red sun to weaken him. This wont give Galactus the def win…Prime in comics is soo darn powerful because of his emotions somehow the madder he gets the more powerful Prime becomes.
Monarch had the power to wipe out a universe and Prime went toe to toe with him.
I dont think this would be ease for Galactus but I still think Galactus would win this fight. Simply because Galactus powerlevels are about equal more maybe just alittle above Primes and Monarch at full strenght. Its hard to judge
Even the Silver Surfer said if Galactus died a destructive blast would wipe out everything within 100 light years or something. Monarchs raw power destoryed all life everywhere. And Prime could go toe to toe with him and Monarch can use red sun radiation against him and drain his enegry. So this is hard to say. But my gut is with Galactus.

  • John
    May 8, 2010

Sorry that was written poorly. I was typing in a rush. Monarchs enegry could destory a entire universe and his armor could withstand all that enegry. Prime had enough strength to ripped off Monarchs armor unleashing all that power that destoryed everything in that universe. I havent seen Galactus at full power put out that much enegry. But Galactus can defeat and even ate godly beings in his universe. But even Galactus has been known to fall or be defeated. Sentry did it. MAJOR PIS i think but it happen. In Anniliation comics Galactus was captured with the Silver Surfer.
Im not saying Prime wins but I dont think he falls easy and it shouldnt be said that he does. Prime could def…..bring a fight to Galactus.

We are talking about the gilden superman prime who has spent over 15000 yrs inside the sun.
he posesses the powers of a 3D-imps which puts hims on a level higher then Skyfathers,Galactus or even beyonder.
he studied under the source himself,he has wrestled evil gods had curc umnavigated the universe and has fought battles one could not think of.
Superman prime wins this one with ease even a fully powerrrrrrred galactus is not a match for him.
He is just below presence and source in the DC multiverse.

Kal-El of former Earth-Prime is the most powerful being in the DC Multiverse and has no practical limitations in his ability to directly use or overwhelm other physical or energy sources for his own.
Due to his existence out of Multiverse, because of the death of his home world in Crisis on Infinite Earths, he is completely immune to reality changing abilities of his enemies (such as imps of Fifth Dimension).
Prime is a Time Trapper and have literally access to all powers and abilities from across all time
He also has the power to to step in and out of different dimesion and destroy them at will.

Not anymore. After Final Crisis, he’s back in his home world and no longer have the Time Trapper’s power (who can choose his past as I have heard) nor the ability to cross dimensions. But even as Primadonna Prime before, I doubt he can defeat Galactus.

Man, no one reads early 80′s Superman comics anymore.

SBP is a pre-COIE Kryptonian. He has infinite physical strength. He flies fast enough to break the time barrier, or travel through dimensions, by muscle and sinew alone.

Placing him up against the love child of a previous Marvel Universe and some starship is a spite thread. Galactus does not have enough power to take a single punch from SBP, neither does any abstract in the MU. OTOH, SBP, if interested enough to bother, could destroy not only Galactus but the universe where M bodies are made. Heck, he could kill Galactus with a 12 billion decibel super shout.
Eat planets? LMAO try ‘bitch slap at a trillion times the speed of light from a being invulnerable enough to survive inside the big bang without mommy and cradle to protect him.’
