And Scopion can just set you on fire from various moves…so I can’t really pick a winner here. But, since Srcorpoin is actually a spectre and can never be destoryed fully… I’m going with him.

Like I also said before in the MK Universe death is meanless. Example Liu Kang he was killed in Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance and yet he returned in Mortal Kombat: Deception granted he was a zombie. Mileena was also killed and bought back from the dead. In a Universe that has muiltple realms and has it’s own Hell known as the Netherealm where souls such as Sub-Zero and Scorpion’s will remain. In fact Scorpion’s soul was in the Netherealm and while he was in the Netherealm he fought Sub-Zero the Elder (Now known as Noob Saibot) and the Elder was able to defeat Scorpion and Quan Chi in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero.

Also what we have seen that Sub-Zero the Younger has become more powerful than his older brother and since he has the Dragon Medallion which is a powerful artifact that resembles a dragon biting its tail. This artifact came into Sub Zero’s possesion shortly after his victory over Sektor and his return to the Lin Kuei. This medallion enhanced Sub Zero’s freezing powers to levels he had never thought possible.

However we cannot ignore how powerful Scorpion has become as well. This is a perfect 50-50 match. But I must give the edge to Sub-Zero.

I think your overestimating Scorpion’s abilties do to the fact he is undead. In the MK Universe that means nothing in the MK universe Because he is undead does not mean he can’t be killed again (and yes he can be killed again due to the fact he is outside of the Netherealm.) and his soul sent back to the Netherealm again and given that he now knows that it was Quan Chi and has been hunting Quan Chi to avenge his family’s death at the hands of Quan Chi. Also without Quan Chi or Shinnok or Raiden or any other Elder God he can’t leave the Netherealm.

Sub-Zero having descended from a race of Outworld inhabitants known as Cryomancers, Sub-Zero has innate ability to control ice in many forms. Throughout the span of the series, Sub-Zero’s powers have continued to evolve. Aside from flash-freezing opponents, Sub-Zero also has the ability to instantly conjure up an ice statue of himself to act as both a scapegoat and a ‘landmine’ of sorts as any who touch it instantly flash freeze. Due to the Dragon Medallion’s addition to his arsenal, Sub-Zero’s powers have increased significantly, now able to form weapons out of ice. Exactly how powerful he is storyline-wise unknown.

This is not going to be easy for Scorpion. In fact this is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. They clash against each other and have a way to counter the other’s attack.

Isn’t this really going to come down to the skill of the player? I mean, both seem to be about as equally capable of taking the other down (in Scorpion’s case a long-term KO would count as a victory) it more matters on who is more skilled, is there any canon to suggest this?

@Sapper-You can’t really freeze fire especially the kind of the hell variety. Also being made of flesh, bone, and hell fire also has its advantages since I doubt sub-zero can freeze the fires of hell and since Scorpion is formed of hell-fire it renders him un-freezable. Sub-Zero however can be effected by hell-fire which not only burns the flesh but also the soul.

@Mega-Your right I am under-estimating Sub-Zero a little but keep in mind that Scorpion and Sub-Zero is more or less equal BUT Scorpion has a burning hatred for Subs which would make him way more ruthless and give him that extra boost in strength he needs to finish Subs. That being said I doubt either could kill the other since they balance each other too much.

Oh yeah Mega your correct in that one. Its been a while since i played mortal kombat because the series seems to becoming more and more stupid with each itteration. Last one I played was deception and I refused to buy that abomination MK vs DC. Some say it was good but at the time it was 65 bucks and thats not something you shell out lightly these days. Have you played it?

Isn’t it canon that Sub Zero wins this, it was him who sent Scorpion to hell in the first place after all. Since then they’ve fought three times that i know of (once in the animated cartoon of all things) and Sub Zero wins each time. he’s more powerful with his ice than Scorpion is with his fire…

It was Sub-Zero the Elder (Who is now known as Noob Saibot) who killed Scorpion not the Sub-Zero the Younger (The Current Sub-Zero) and also Scorpion killed Sub-Zero the Elder whiched turned him into Noob Saibot. Also Sub-Zero the Younger has became more powerful than he was in MK 4 ever sinces he defeated Sektor and become Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei and the fact he has the Dragon Medallion has increased his powers greatly and will be hard for Scorpion to beat.

Not saying it’s impossbile but it will be hard. Also the two are equally strong and mastered the Elements they use. If this battle was fought a 100 times each would win 50 given their current state.

@Megaraptor-yeah the tuned down blood really killed it for me. I know most DC heroes don’t kill but it would have been fucking wicked to pull someone’s spine out with Batman or beat someone to death with their own arms with Super Man. Well I can dream.

Come on people do we really have 2 debate about this scorpion and subzero would eraticate ryu and ken. capcom and midway (warner bros.) really need 2 come out with a game about this kuz this is the most questioned subject i ever heard. ima fan of sf and mk but i been n luv since it first came out and im only 13. subzero is a GRANDMASTER of ice and scorpion is SPECTRE from hell think logically here people plus they have anamalities which means they can turn into an animal as seen in mk3
