Legends Vs Rookies. While the “rookies” still have more movies that they’ll be able to make in the future, how do they stack up against the likes of Rambo, Rocky and the Terminator?

Oh holy hell…
Umm… IS this each actor as a single entity, or all of their roles side by side facing off, because those are two VERY different battles.
if its just the actors, the rookies have this hands down. Schwarzenegger and stallone, while still buff as all hell, are just a wee bit too old to stand up the the new guys, who actually have some knowledge of fighting.
If its all the movie characters put together though, the Legends that are Stallone & Schwarzenegger win this without breaking a sweat.

Ah, but shouldn’t we be taking into acount the potential value of the actors?
Stallone is currently squeezing every drop of milk from his two major franchises, while the Governator seems to be out for the count.
The key here is the consideration of their production value. The newcommers are continuously pumping out gems of action godness. Yes, they still have ways to go to earn their stripes as action star royalty like the veteran Action Gods, but they both have some solid franchises at this point.
Statham = The epic Transporter, and Crank.
Diesel = The epic Riddic, and Fast & Furius, and perhaps even xXx.
And those franchises seem to keep growing. Adding to that some single pieces like Death Race, Knockaround Guys, The Bank Job, War, and Babylon A.D.. Not to mention Statham’s upcomming remake of Bronson’s The Mechanic (maybe as it may be completely unrelated), and Diesel’s Wheelman as well as a xXx sequel.
The two will even come full circle with fantasy-esque films once Diesel finishes the announced Hannibal The Conqueror to be paired with Statham’s In the Name of the King. I think the newcommers might get this one.
……but then, we have such epics in the works that considerably blur the lines for this fan’s opinion:

That movie may well end up answering this entire match up, when it undoubtably ends up in a brawl between Stallone and Statham.

Agreed. I discovered it after I made the suggestion, and it proved to be a massive monkeywrench into this. My expectations for it are quite high.

The Legends have this. They have waded through fictional pools of their own blood and created the action movie genre as it is today.
They were the ones who invades Vietnam alone to rescue hostages, they are the ones that went back in time to kill/protect the savior of humanity, they are the ones that went on to pouch out the Russian superman, and they are the ones that made some of the greatest lines every uttered in action film.
While I got respect for Statham and Diesel, they can’t compete with the this amount of brutality and sheer unadulterated violence that comes with age.
Besides what could the rookies have to counter this amount of awesome?

The legends. They are just too high on the epicosity list.

Stallone still takes steroids…and the governator still works out… their combined weight is still miore than the rookies…this only applies to a street brawl. in terms of movies, the legends have more memorable lines
“i’ll be back”(terminator 2)
“aaaaaaahhhhhhh”(Rocky, Rambo)
“Hasta la vista, baby”(terminator)
my $0.02 is on the legends

i think street brawl the youngsters have it, theyre faster and move maneuverable, the legends are too muscle bound even in their peak to match the martial abilities of statham and diesel

The legends… and here is why
IF I have to see crank or transporter on spike one more time… i am going to fall of the deep end and shoot my tv… what terrible terrible films…. Statham can die a horrible agonizing death in the B-Movie world as far as im concerned
GOOD STATHAM MOVIES
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Snatch
The Transporter (the first one not the series)
The Italian Job
The Bank Job
TERRIBLE STATHAM MOVIES
Turn It Up
Ghosts of Mars
The One
Mean Machine
Thai Boxing: A Fighting Chance (not technically a statham movie… but by the time I saw this movieI hated hearing his voice)
Collateral (I had already began to hate the transporter series… so this got dumped into this secton)
Cellular
Transporter 2 (ruined Frank Martin as a character… he would never hook up with a busted chick like that)
Revolver
London
Chaos
The Pink Panther (sums up what i think of Jason Statham)
Crank
War (what should have and could have been the best action movie ever was instead an epic flop)
In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (gayer than Sam & Frodo)
Death Race (Could have… wait no the twisted metal franchise sux too)
Transporter 3 (more nasty chicks)
Crank: High Voltage (“Grimey! I need a quick rub against an olde chick to keep me hearts a beatin!” Please….)

I would say the star of deathrace wins this one (if you know anything this covers both teams)

“Lock, Stock…”, “Snatch” and “The Transporter” make up for everything though. All these guys have their fair share of awful awful movies.

“The true measure of a man, is in his words.”
Sam the Heretic
this famous line proves that the legends win, purely on their great lines.
i nominate legends for the win

When Making Rocky 6, Stallone took all those punches in the movie for real. Got legitly knocked out a few times too. It goes to show you these sequels to him are more then just a cash in.
So my vote is for the Legends.

Stallone just looks tired, Arnold looks like a caveman, Staham looks really gross and Vin Diesel looks like a dumbass

If this argument is about kill count(which it SHOULD be) then stallone and arnie has it by a landslide.

“If this argument is about kill count(which it SHOULD be) then stallone and arnie has it by a landslide.”
That’s not what action movies are about, tho. If that was the case, Rambo wins over all.
Action films are about excitement. Everyone knows that “Oh, SHIT!” feeling from most of the movies in question here.
If you want a kill count, just go watch a slasher movie. I rather watch shit getting blown up!

I realize i’m late for the party here but for comment 15.. you are OUT OF YOUR MIND!! **Sorry i rarely use all caps, but that deserved the emphesis** Arnold and Stallone in there prime (Possibly even now) would destroy the Rookies in a straight fist fight.

Hey haven’t seen you around JustAGamer…. unless you have been around and I am blind :/
As much as everyone will hate me for saying this, I didn’t mind the pacifier much. For a kids movie at least, really not half bad.
It wouldn’t sway my vote though.

Terminator has a better action than Rambo 2&3 combined, leave Rambo 1 behind, it totally a sick movie.
Statham’s action movie is just full of martial art gimicks, but at least he is a known one for a western
If you want brawling, then just look on Diesel

Character wise?
The Legends without a doubt. I mean, come on, a T-101 versus the Transporter?

On success of movies, it obviously goes to Stallone and Schwarz-whatever.
But for my personal preference, I liked the setting and all that of Riddick better than any of the other actor’s movies. Death Race was okay the first time I watched it, but Diesel’s role as Riddick is what gets em’ my vote.
