In perhaps one of the most balanced matches in recent FactPile history, here we have two “super” soldiers matching wits against each other.
They both have effective counter measures to the other’s attacks and are both experienced in just about every situation, which makes for a great fight.

Depends on what Snakes Standard Equipment is (on MC Vs Snake Snake got the Short stick and was stuck with a knife and a Dart Launcher) If he is stuck with the Knife and Dart launcher and its an neutral Battlefield I would be Leaning towards Soap If Snake gets his shit Then i’m going Snake FTW!!

snakes current standard has octocamo which protects from heat vision aswell and normal vision
soap has the advantage of range however he still needs to find snake before he ends up having his throat cut.

Snake’s weapons got some pretty good range too like the M82 which has an effective range of 1,800m and combine that with 12.7 round, I’d say Snake’s got a gun that can help him pick off Soap from a distance with an almost guaranteed kill.
The octocamo gives Snake a nice advantage in this fight.

Well, Soap is a good soldier, placed into an extraordinary situation, with alot of good fortune. Snake is a genetically enhanced super soldier based off of the greatest soldier in his universe. Snake makes the guy that Soap fought with at the end of MW2 look like my crippled grandmother…. and Soap still nearly died in that fight.

I know this goes against standard rules but:
What would happen if we gave them both standard modern military equipment, including clothes, guns, gadgets, and set them off in some form of small forest with a few clearings?
Otherwise Snake has kind of sci-fi weaponry and gadgets with which he will kill Soap.

@chewie Honestly I don’t think that would change the outcome of this duel. I simply find it extremely hard to believe that Soap has a fighting chance here. If it’s Solid Snake or Naked Snake we are talking about, both have been seen fighting against much more dangerous and skilled opponents than Soap. Just think about the fight between Naked Snake and The Fear. That was in a forest, an environment that The Fear preferred. Naked Snake pwned his ass. Then there was The End, an expert sniper. That battle also took place in the forest with the same results: The End= dead.

I can’t even believe that people are considering the possibility that Soap could win this. With gameplay mechanics it might seem like Soap was an extraordinary badass because of how many people you killed when controlling him. However, Snake has been shown to be a badass throughout cutscenes and dialog. The cutscenes in MW2 mainly showed Soap getting his pansy ass kicked, and damn near killed. Snake takes this, easy effing win.

Soap is not the better fighter. Snake has taken superhumans like Psycho Mantis, Gray Fox and the B&B corps, defeated the greatest soldier of the 20th century twice and has destroyed Metal Gears. He’s also got more experience and skill then Soap.
Mactavish has nothing to compete with that.

Honestly I’m a cod freak don’t play it that much but soap mctavish weaponry is a m4a1 sidearm M9 frag and flash grenades. He lived and beat and ended 2 wars he has a lot of stamina to pull a knife out of him if snake throw it he is skilled in all types of combat and weaponry long distance a suppressed intervention middle range M4A1 close range the M9 short explosive would be a frag and long would be a at4-hc
