Dark Light
Prince Nuada Vs Darth Maul
Prince Nuada Vs Darth Maul

Making his debut on FactPile is Prince Nuada from the Hellboy franchise.

While I think on a strict battle between them in a sword fight would make for an even match, once Maul got fed up or bored with the Prince, I think he’d just force choke him.

What say you?

if maul had no access to the force and was using a regular sword, i would say that nuada wins.

however, im guessing that a lightsaber can cleave through nuadas sword easily enough.

and of course, he could just toss him around for a laugh, before simply tearing him in two with the force

is it just me or are we beginning to see a pattern with force users in fights?

the force seems to be the method of curbstomping in a lot of fights at the moment

the only thing Nuada need to fear from him is the force.
if Darth Maul cuts his blade it would just grow back, and does Nuada have his bodyguard guy?

The only thing Maul has in his favor is his force ability other than that he isn’t really that skillful in a sword fight to win against Nuada

” isn’t really that skillful in a sword fight to win against Nuada”

    - How so? As a Sith, he has combat precog., the fighting skills to engage two powerful Jedi at once (succesful for a goo bit of time), and a blade that will cut right through anything that the Prince has (I believe).

That and hew can pretty much just watch as the Prince does his usual “IZ CAN SWINGZ MEH SPEAR AROUNDED!”, shake his head, and force choke the fuck out of him.

    Maul wins…. easily.

Megaraptor18, so if darth maul attacks with no force but just plain sword fighting the lightsaber will have no advantage if he dodges his attacks right?
    HOW FAST IS NUADA?

Kenny you need to see Hellboy 2 I think your like it. (If anything for the humor) Also Wacth Hellboy one if anything for Kroenen (Which is the movie’s Colonel Radec yes he is that dawn cool)

    Now to the debate

Nuada weapons use magic and carrys a spear and at least two swords. He is an Evlen Prince and has shown to be very fast in combat and killed several of his Father’s bodyguards with ease. Now if they are as good as a Jedi Knight hard to say.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEvInvmQPZs&feature=related

Now look at his spear it can expand in size also as seen later in the movie once he got his blade into Hellboy he broke the spearhead in him and while the old spearhead was still in Hellboy a new spearhead grew and took the old one’s place on the spear. Also the Old Spearhead that was in Hellboy grew larger and got closer to his heart everytime someone tried to pull out the spearhead.

This is the only good video of him fighting his father’s bodyguards on youtube even then it is an music video.

“Sorry for double posting but I was fearing that if I post more than two links I would have to wait for moderation” – the trigger kicks in at 6 links – so keep it to 5 and you should be fine. Just a spamming preventative measure.

If there’s one thing I know, its that this is an epic sword fight. So I’m thinking that would come to a draw. But it all comes down to Maul raping Nuada with the force.

This fight is still epic as hell.

Indeed it would be epic for the five or so seconds it lasts.

The first Hellboy movie was great, but the second got kind of cheasy and reminded me too much of a cheap comic book. Kind of like the 2003 Hulk movie.

Speaking of Guillermo del Toro comics, you guys should read either the comic, or watch the animated movie, of the Amazing Screw-on Head. Preferably you should watch the the animated movie. Its funny as hell.

“it grows back…have you seen the movie?”

Whoops! Haven’t seen it in a long time. Even then, I’m betting that Maul uses the force to defeat him. I mean, come on, he took on two Jedis, Nuada is just another on his list.

It doesn’t matter if it grows back, if the blade gets cut he cannot use it to block. He cannot defend himself. A combined lightsaber/force attack is way outside his ability to handle.

” Trust me it grows back in seconds”

    - It would have to be near instanteous to have any real effect and then theres the unfortunate matter of the fact that the lightsaber is still heating for one of his body parts and the wielder already knows what hes going to do.

If you have seen the movie you would have known that it is near instanteous.

I’m not debating the outcome only stating facts.

Mega, I’ve seen both Hellboy movies, and yes, it does ‘grow back’ very quickly, but not nearly instantly. If memory serves it takes a couple seconds. Since Maul has combat precognition and a double bladed lightsaber, even a half a second is going to put Nuada in a real tight spot, and Maul can cut down Nuada’s spear repeatedly, forcing him on the defensive. It’s also noteworthy that a lightsaber seems to not stop when it cuts through most things, so even if Nuada parries with his spear, Maul’s saber is still going to be heading towards wherever it was going before Nuada’s attempted parry.
I’m going to go ahead and assume that Nuada is physically stronger than Maul, purely from what is seen in the movies, but when your opponent’s sword cuts right through yours with every parry either party makes, I don’t think it will be much of a factor. The way I see it, Nuada will be too busy trying to regrow his spear to even hope to try attacking Maul himself.

Sword fight I think it’ll be even based on what I heard on comments about him. But maul has the force. Nuda doesn’t have the speed or agility to dodge it so darth maul win. And dm looks so much cooler than nuda.

I can’t say anything about that because I have never seen Hellboy. And either way that is an opinion. (I personally think the only good part of The Phantom Menace was the saber fights). And just because a movie may be better doesn’t mean the character would defeat another character from a movie that is “not as good as another one”. Anyway that’s just my opinion. =)

My point was that while DM looks cooler, Hellboy 2 was better…

The lightsaber duel in the Phantom Menace was abysmal. Watch the final fight between Luke and Darth Vader in Revenge of the Sith.

    Phantom Menace duel:

1: Cool looking villain with badass lightsaber.
    2: EXCELLENT CHOREOGRAPHY

    Revenge of the Sith duel:

1: 2 important characters that you actually care about engaging in combat.
    2: Good Dialog.
    3: Is actually important.
    4: Darth. Vader.
    5: I don’y know… but 5 reasons seems more respectable.
