Different type of duel here. Personally, I hated it when Microsoft FORCED me to create an avatar to continue playing online. But, just like everything else Microsoft does, they don’t come up with an original idea, instead they steal it from someone else and try to make it better. For the Wii, the Mii’s make more sense since it’s not a hardcore gaming platform, and aimed mostly at kids and older adults who just want to pick up and play and have some “cute” representation of themselves.

I’ve had both and I must say I prefer the avatar. The concept of a multi-game representation is fairly general, so it isn’t really “copying”. And who cares if it was? Avatars are better anyway. Miis force you to look cutesy no matter how you make them look, but avatars are more flexible and have a less deformed look. My avatar looks a bit threatening honestly, and I’d rather that than some dopey smiling Rayman=clone.

Avatars are overall better but they are a copy of the Miis(although I still prefer them over the Miis usually). However when it comes to fighting, the Miis win easily, as they are good at boxing and sword fighting.

Mii’s are more customizable than Avatars. I found it harder to create a likeness of someone through the xbox! You can make more mii’s than avatars and there is more of a choice for features. It’s just Microsoft trying to get back at the success of the Wii!

Well, I have both, but there are more of a variety of mii to create, but avatars look better. Avatars may be beat because miis are in more games than they are, and are boxers, swordfighters, and there are ways to make them look like super heroes and have weapons. I do not know about avatars being able to do that.

I like the Avatars, I found them easier to make ‘yourself’ than the Mii. Plus (from my very limited contact with the Mii creator) I’m pretty sure the Avatars have a lot more options and stuff to get, my Avatar has a resident evil 5 hawaiian shirt, I mean… c’mon.. badass.

To get any number of props and additional game attire (like Bioshock armor and what not) you DL them from the market place with the microsoft points. They’ve got a pretty large selection.. I think the most recent addition to the collection is a bunch of Monkey Island 2 pirate gear lol

I hate MII’s because their nintendo made, creepy eyes, can’t be threatening, and seem to be gay when you pick them up. At least with avatars, you can use costumes and they look 3-D.
