I’ve known about this site for a bit of time as I have been working with the developer of the site with a few things. Just to give you a bit of history on him, he’s worked for Hollywood.com and a little known game named DIABLO. So, needless to say, he’s done his time, and has learned a ton about how people want to use the web.

Enter Nestr. Suppose you want to meet somewhere with your pals but aren’t exactly sure of the street name or landmark? Nestr gets you started with a map that you can drop the meeting place anywhere you want, and then gives you the ability to broadcast that information any way you want – Twitter, FaceBook, Cell and email. And, you can do all of this without creating an account.

So, once your friends get the message, they can see exactly where everyone is supposed to meet.

Also, besides creating a location finder, you can also upload video and pictures of the event or previous events that took place at that location. And the best part is, all of this is taking place in real-time. So, you could even set up a place to meet and let others know when you’ve arrived, and EVERYONE will instantly know that you’re there.

I truly think this will be one of the next big web apps that will become an essential part of using the web.

Right now, the only drawback is that it’s only able to “Nest” events in the United States, but he’s already working on the mapping system to be available worldwide. You can still use it if you’re outside the US, the only problem is that all your locations will be considered New York, NY.

Anyways, check out NESTR.com if only to get a glimpse of the future…

Actually, you are not limited to New York when using nestr.com. Any zip code or US city name will work.
