My Sims Kingdom

Ok, so I have to admit that this is not a typical game that I would play. I know the Sims universe is tremendously huge and successful, but the idea of micro-managing imaginary people and animals just doesn’t seem like the idea of a good time to me.

But regardless, I fired up the Wii and went through the initial mandatory tutorial to get yourself accustomed to how the game is played. After about 2 minutes, you just “get it” and essentially, you just need to point and click on everything. Seemed like playing any game you find on Facebook.

Not getting too deep into the storyline, to me it’s like a civilized version of Warcraft. You need to mine resources to build stuff. The major differences are that you aren’t going to attack anyone, and instead you just build stuff for seemingly every person in the world.

So, I can see where people could enjoy the casual, go-at-your-own-pace of the game and be satisfied with it. For me personally, I’d rather be doing something else.

Overall: 7/10

I agree, this franchise is incredibly underwhelming.

    Pass.

I would personally give it a far poorer score. The games i play doesn’t need to contain violence(although that is good) to be playable. However, the Sims games are utterly boring and fail to keep me interested any longer than it takes to find the most hilarious outfits.

I would give the franchise a very poor 1/10. But, as it has millions of fans and the very notion of the worst score is considered extremely childish, i guess I can give it a 3. Maybe.

If you look at this one game, or that new one with the 007 crap, yeah this series is very underwhelming. but IF you look at the first game, which allowed you to (nearly) completly design an entire town (including the houses, what trees were there, who actually lived there…( I found it to be very enjoyable (or maybe that’s my SimCity side meeting my Architectural design side…)

Anyway, a game doesn’t need kickass graphics or a copious amount of bloodshed (I found the Wind Waker to be a very welcome addition to the LOZ franchise quite frankly) But one man’s hobby is another man’s distaste.
