Morgoth Vs Darth Vader
Morgoth Vs Darth Vader

I have to admit that I didn’t know much about Morgoth until this battle was suggested. After some research, I’ve come to appreciate the powers he has.

Now, pitted against Dart Vader might prove to be his demise, but it makes for a great match.

Who wins this?

Morgoth for sure. He makes Sauron look kike a kitten. Vader’s force choke would make Morgoth chuckle then toss Vader around like a rag doll.

Morgoth the Vaar/God/creator (i believe) of Sauron Versus Vader the once imposing warrior sith now whiny little girl with a glowstick and the power of petulance?

Even if I play nice and take Vader as he is in novels and the original trilogy, Morgoth comes out on top here. He’s a god, Vader is mortal.

Plus, Vader wouldn’t be able to fight someone as evil as Morgoth who makes the Emporer look like a cute kitten, I mean, for God’s sake, Morgoth created orcs by capturing and tourturing elves!!! Vader would just get there and say “Master, I am your servant” Then Morgoth would get Vader to make him a giant lightsaber and then Morgoth would win the war against the forces of good, then Vader teaches him about space travel and Morgoth conquors the universe!

FYI, Morgoth doesnt need space travel….he can go anywhere in a blink of an eye…after all, he’s a valar created by Illuvatar…he is called as the son of Illuvatar

Morgoth created evil. He is the source of all things evil ever to have come to be. He tainted the creation of the world with his evil. Without him evil would not exist. Evil.Evil…EVILLLLL!!!!!!!!! He is practically the Satan of Tolkein’s world.
    SUGGESTION!! Morgoth vs Link

That is a great idea JoshMcFace, putting the creator of Middle Earth’s evil up against the hero weilding the blade of evil’s bane. Although I think maybe we should have Link go up against Sauron first.

Thank you Tim, :) Link vs Sauron seems more even…but for some reason I get the feeling that everyone would claim that Sauron’s finger would just be chopped off. Maybe a different form of Sauron?? Either way i’d like to see more Morgoth!!
Oooo Ganondorf vs Sauron seems like a good one too….

Hopefully all these fights will get made eventually, and I would love to see more fights involving Morgoth and other Middle-Earth characters too, there isn’t enough fights involving them on this website in my opinion. They could use Sauron before he made the ring or when he was the Necromancer, although he would be weaker in both of these forms and I would prefer him to fight Link at his strongest.

True, maybe Gothmog lord of the Balrogs would be a good one too. Morgoth does have the potential to go faaaar on this site, and maybe it could be an embodiment of Sauron with all his powers?? Most characters on here seem to get all their weapons etc so that would be fair. And Morgoth with all his powers (before he spread them out so thin) is pretty much indestructible.

Those are some great ideas. You’re right that these characters should get all thier powers, as all the others characters do in thier fights.

Morgoth ftw…honestly not even a contest. Morgoth is a GOD vader gets ordered around by an old man and owned by luke skywalker, who wouldn’t stand a chance against morgoth either.

    Vader’s weapons:
Lightsaber vs someone who can only be killed by another God
Force Choke vs Someone who doesn’t need to breathe
Death Star vs Mace that vaporizes mountains

Man who needs a special suit just to live or a nearly all-powerful God…Vader gets raped

Maybe…. Darth vader could use his light saber to cut through Morgoth’s hammer, but that wouldn’t make any sense. Maybe he could just climb as high as Morgoth’s head and then stab his light saber into it.

“Maybe…. Darth vader could use his light saber to cut through Morgoth’s hammer, but that wouldn’t make any sense.”
Cut through?…Cut through the hammer of the underworld?…That’s just a no.
Did you even think about your post before clicking?
” Maybe he could just climb as high as Morgoth’s head and then stab his light saber into it.”
WHAT?! So after Darth Vader climbs up the conveniently places mountain (Morgoth is just going to sit and watch him do so obviously), Vader is going to stab a Ainu WHO CAN ONLY BE KILLED BY OTHER AINUR through the face and kill him?
Sorry for my capitals but that is just wrong in every aspect.

“Vader is going to stab a Ainu WHO CAN ONLY BE KILLED BY OTHER AINUR through the face and kill him?”

Well, in Morgoth has been injured before by a non-valor:

After defeating the Orcs in the Dagor Aglareb, Fingolfin maintained the Siege of Angband for nearly 400 years. But the Siege was ended by Morgoth’s sudden assaults in the Dagor Bragollach, and many peoples of Beleriand fled. When Fingolfin learned of this, and received false report that his allies had been routed on all fronts, he became filled with wrath and despair. He immediately took his horse Rochallor and sword Ringil, and rode alone to Angband. All enemies fled from him, fearing his anger, and mistaking him in his fury for Oromë, the Valar patron of hunters.

He smote the gates of Angband and challenged Morgoth to single combat. Though Morgoth feared Fingolfin (of all the Valar, Morgoth was the only one to know fear), he had to accept the challenge — or face shame in the eyes of his servants. Seven times Fingolfin wounded Morgoth and seven times Morgoth cried in pain, and seven times the host of Morgoth wailed in anguish, but he could not be slain for he was one of the Valar.

Wherever Morgoth attacked, Fingolfin would evade, avoiding Morgoth’s weapon Grond as it would crack the ground. Eventually, however, Fingolfin grew weary and stumbled on a crater. Then Morgoth pinned Fingolfin with his foot, and killed him, but not before the king, with his last act of defiance, hewed at Morgoth’s foot. Morgoth, from thence forward, always walked with a limp.

I definitely agree that Morgoth would totally defeat the Sith Lord, but he was injured. Might have to do that the elf-lord might have some magical abilities (can’t say for sure, as Tolkien never elaborated on this ability.) Factpile award for Morgoth, the bane of the Elves.

    “Morgoth MADE Sauron”

Actually mate, that is not true. Ilúvatar (Basically the Judeo-Christian version of God), created all life, including Sauron, before the 1st Age. But when Melkor fell, his influence reached Sauron, and Sauron turned evil, becoming Melkor (Morgoth’s) head lieutenant. Melkor does not have the “Flame Imperishable” (Divine Spark of Life), and that is why he rebelled against Ilúvatar (he wanted the Flame to create life in his own image). But the outcome is still the same. Factpile award for the The Foe of the World (Morgoth).

I’m going with Morgoth. Darth Vader may be powerful when it comes to the Force, but Morgoth is the Middle-earth version of a GOD. Vader is human, thereby making him insignificant when compared to the first Dark Lord. This is my scenario: Vader stands before him, ready to fight. “Morgoth, I challenge you to–” WHACK! *Vader is smashed into oblivion by Grond, Hammer of the Underworld.*
As for Ganondorf vs. Sauron, JoshMcFace, Sauron would crush Ganondorf in a heartbeat. Ganondorf is blessed with the power of Din, the Goddess of Power, but he isn’t a god. Sauron IS, although not as powerful as Morgoth. The only way Ganondorf could beat Sauron is if he teamed up with Zelda and Link and then all three attacked Sauron at the same time. That would be the only way for the Triforce to overcome the powers of the One Ring. And don’t start going into your bullshit about how all Ganondorf would have to do is cut off Sauron’s hand because it’s a one-in-a-million shot. Isildur cut it off as an act of desperation because Sauron was reaching for him so he could burn the King of Numenor’s son to ashes in his iron grip. Vader/Ganondorf supporters, hate me all you want, I don’t give a f— because I’m opinionated and I’m proud of it! ;)

    So…
Morgoth,a guy who is appaerantly strong enough to throw down with Galactus

    Versus

A Sith lord who is constantly being overshadowed in his own universe?

    Okay,just checking.

Now that would be a fair(er) duel. There is no way Darth Vader could kill Morgoth, foremostly because he CANNOT BE KILLED, only banished.

is supposed to happen the minute morgoth is released… yeah…

tbh, if the argument is who would win, rather than who would kill the other, there are some (exceptionally slim) possibilities for vader. by this i mean that morgoth gets weaker and weaker as time goes on in the first age, as he puts his power into the evil things he creates (dragons, orcs, wierd dragon-tank-things, etc…) and uses it further in just making stuff miserable in middle earth. in addition to this, morgoth is a complete coward. the only time he dared fight personally after being imprisoned the first time is against fingolfin…and he only fought because he had to, he was afraid of fingolfin, and he was afraid of a great many other things.
in truth, i reckon that if you pit vader against morgoth at the time of the war of wrath, vader might barely be able to pull something off, simply because morgoth was by this point a snivelling little rat (seriously, he cowers before the equivalent of an angel, he who was once equal to all the valar (bar tulkas) at once in terms of power).

so yeah…morgoth would tan vaders ass at any point he has the courage not to jump at this own shadow, which by the end of his reign in middle earth has long since gone. morgoth when he was melkor though…theres not much in any universe thatd have a chance.
