Another apparent slam dunk victory for the Star Wars universe. Unless there is some startling fact that someone can present about Arsenal Gear, I think this fight is just about over.

arsenal gear is not space worthy and does not feature any futuristic weaponry worthy of damaging the falcon.
as much as I hate to say it its goin die
star wars vs metal gear post woaah

Apologies for the double post but could the metal gear rays it can produce be a problem

if all the Metal Gear Rays would be activated it could cause a problem for the Millenium Falcon
they could damage the Millenium Falcon pretty much I think
but I’m going with the Millenium Falcon

It’s actually pointed out by Solidus that without the nuclear payload and the protective metal gears that the Arsenal Gear is fairly worthless. As for whether the Metal Gear Rays would pose a threat, look for the Scarab v MG REX. If the Covenant Scarab can slag REX then the weaker production model RAYs won’t even register to the Millenium Falcon.

Arsenal Gear, main purpose is the control and manipulation of infomation,
epecially infomation on the net. it has an internal security force of
arsenal tengu soldiers ,25 metal gear rays. it has single purified nuclear bomb,
and is suppose to have a full naval detachment to guard it.
however none of this going to do it any good from the falcon, they might as well
paint a giant bullseye on it.
so millenium falcon for the fastest fp award in factpile history.

@ Gray Fox
As per FactPile rules, this is a one on one match between the two whether or not Arsenal Gear can produce Metal Gears unless stated otherwise by the scenario, but in this case, the tech disparity is so great it wouldn’t matter if Arsenal Gear had 100 Metal Gear Rays instead of it’s 25.

the falcon is airborne, and as far as i know there is no aircraft supplement aboard the arsenal gear, so unless we assume that it has some AA guns, yeah.
December 14, 2009

the range and firepower of the falcons weapons, put it out of range for the arsenal gear, to attack it, because without a navy fleet to protect it all it has is it’s 25 ray’s for any form of AA defense.

cant arsenal go underwater? it could hide from the falcon and have the rays do hit and run attacks?
December 14, 2009
#10
yes it can go underwater, but the rays wont be able to hit the MF.

“but the rays wont be able to hit the MF”
the lasers on RAY seemed pretty precise…
December 14, 2009

its not a laser, but high powered water jet meaning it has a short range.

in mgs4 i saw a laser, or was that rex?…
December 14, 2009

rex has a laser, yes
ray has
[quote]
RAY’s initial and most prominent primary armament is a “water jet cutter” housed in the jaw area. Powered by a massive pump, water is sucked into an internal tank and then expelled as a narrow stream under extremely high pressure, approaching astronomical speeds (similar to a pressure washer or a water jet cutter in real life). As RAY’s primary weapon, its purpose is to sever and slice almost anything that stands in its way, even dense armor.
Other armaments include machine gun pods located at the end of each “wing”, a missile pod located on its back capable of firing homing missiles and cluster bombs, and knee-mounted missile pods for ground defense. Metal Gear RAY’s exterior metallic casing and armor is made of a ceramic-titanium alloy for defense against light to medium projectile assault.[quote]

Oh god….lol
I remember suggesting this at the peak of being a MGS Fanboy.
As L-W would say, “Orbital Supremacy>Everything Else”
I dunno, if MF got close to attack and the RAY’s were out they might to some damage with their missiles and such(given that they could even hit), but it wouldn’t be nearly enough.

Why is this even a match in the first place?
1) The Millennium Falcon can achieve hypersonic speeds in atmosphere, relative velocities in space and can cross the Galaxy in the time it takes for Arsenal Gear to go from New York to London even on a broken hyperdrive (20,000 light years in three hours – 6,666.7 light years per hour); not that I believe the latter would be of any significance in this battle, but it certainly gives a decent indicator for the kind of disparity we’re seeing.
2) The Falcon is heavily shielded and can tank several dozen light point defence turbolaser strikes (each rated at several megatons) and can ram small meteors at near relativistic velocities whilst taking only minor structural damage. RAY’s piddly little water gun and REX’s pathetic chemical crotch laser aren’t even going to register to the Falcon, let alone threaten it.
3) Terajoule laser cannons, gigajoule blasters, hundred megaton concussion missiles capable of accelerating to 1000km/s and dozens of gigaton fusion warheads in the form of proton torpedoes; what is Arsenal going to do against that kind of firepower? Hide?
Seriously, this fight is over the moment the Falcon passes into Earth’s orbit, spots Arsenal and drops a torpedo.

assuming that arsenal isnt underwater to begin with.
i just dont like the star wars films, so i am going to be a bitch to convince that arsenal loses…

i dont think being underwater is going to help…. even if its at the bottom of the deepest ocean… it probably still be struck by the MF from orbit…

I really wonder why even after someone states that in a FactPile duel the contenders don’t get an outside help, people keep on talking about the damn RAYS.
December 20, 2009

rays are part of its arsenal, you wouldnt call smart bombs outside help would you, so i think the same goes for A.I controlled robots that come with it, not that they will save it anyway.

@ Shaun Sorry mate, but if it’s not bolted to the ship in some way, it isn’t counted. Any entity controlled remotely is considered outside help unless specified.

the are controled by the aresenal gear’s a.i. not by anyone person but by the
vechile it’s self , they also come standard with it so do they count in
my opinion.
but in the end, its up to admin to judge.

arsenal gear needs to have something to protect it or its down but in the water it can dodge almose anything the mf throws at it plus the rays are attached to it until released and controled by it plus arsenal gear can fire a nuclear missile at mf or all on the planet for that matter and arsenal gear controls electronics thats why the patriots wanted it destroyed and mf is a electronic sorry to say so arsenal gear could take it out so sorry but arsenal will win no matter what mf has to offer

1) “but in the water it can dodge almose anything the mf throws at it”
What? Arsenal has a top speed of 61km/h at best, how does that grant a kilometer long object capable of only linear acceleration the ability to dodge munitions moving at c-fractional velocities?
2) “arsenal gear can fire a nuclear missile at mf”
A nuclear missile which is only accountable for what? A few megatons at the most? Whereas we know that the MF can survive multiple c-fractional kinetic kill weaponry, we know that her shields can easily withstand multiple megaton turbolaser bolts without so much as a scratch.
The idea of using a modern nuke to swat down Star Wars era shielding is laughable at best.
3) “mf is a electronic”
It’s also a heavily shielded space vessel that can get within less than a 1000 km of a Neutron star. An HEMP is not going to effect the MF in the least.
Now here’s my counter:
You’re a fucking idiot, and you’ll remain a fucking idiot for as long as you breathe; in fact the worms that will someday use your bloated corpse as a buffet will have more common sense than you in their relatively short lifetimes than you possessed now.

“uh correct me if im mistaken but doesnt aresenal gear have nuclear weaponry as well as being indestructable”
A World War II era Battleship had no issues about going toe-to-toe with Arsenal, therefore what do you think a space-faring Frigate armed with gigaton level nukes would do?
