So a match that has been asked for quite a few times makes it to the site. Just from the gameplay experience, I think this would go to MC.

u guys r dumb mc will kill the arbiter he has cortana strenght speed skill and luck and arbiter has his camouflage which is useless against cortana their shields are the same the 17 arbiter lost 2 a captain on halo wars and mc will kill the captain so u do the math.MC WINS ARBITER LOSES DEAL WITH IT.

Didn’t read the whole thing so not sure if it was stated but they have dueled previously in the fight for Ascendant Justice. Arby was in a better fleet master armor then and obviously neither killed each other but chief kicked arby into the bridge escape pod and launched it.

Because of this Arby is now Arby – he lost Halo, the Ascendant Justice(which in turn killed about 500 Covie ships)

Arbiter wins easily! He has invisablity and he’ll just sneak up behind the Chief and stick his Plasma Sword right through his armour. If he did’nt use his invisability he’d use his better arsenal of weponary, quick reflexes and strength to kill MC. Elite technolagy is FAR more advanced and better than the UNSC as it says in Halo Wars: Genesis, the UNSC had 70 frigates and the Covenant had 8. Yes the UNSC destroyed all the Covenant ships the UNSC lost 30 friagtes! Arbiter wins EASILY !!

It depends on which Arbiter you’re talking about. In an all-is-fair-except-for-equipment game, a human gets trounced by an Elite. But then, we have Sgt. Forge, who single-handedly screwed an Arbiter.
Now, we have Mr. Shipmaster and C.I.C. against Mr. Chief. If you go by experience, Thel Vadamee probably wins because he is Kaigon, and no Elite gets to Kaigon if he screws any amount less than a zealot (which is, to say, 100,000 kills). MC? maybe 600+ kills, but Arbiter isn’t going to be one of them.

I doubt MC could beat any Arbiter! As for using his camoflauge what some how is a “cowards tatic” is complety stupid. If MC had camoflauge you would’nt be complaining. Anyways, if we’re talking about Thel Vadam from Halo 2 and 3, he has the clear advantage of skill with weapons as he was killed three major assassins without taking a scratch. He also has experience on the ground and in space were he boarded the Infinate Spoils were he chanllenged Jai-006 and won.

Obviously the Arbiter has a weapon and vechile advantage as even before they safed the UNSC force’s, Thel had a large intreast in human vechiles and technology so he knew more about the enemies tech than MC.

Or he could do what “alfieboi13″ thinks the Arbiter would do and engage active camoflauge and stick his plasma sword through he chest.

I did’nt recall the Elite Major being Thel Vadam? As I have learnt, Thel Vadam was the Elite Ship Master sent to destroy the Pillar Of Autumn, All agreed. Then MC destroys the Halo rings and Vadam is sent to High Charity and is sentenced. I did’nt recall them ever fighting eachother, especially when Vadam was a Major?

the Halo cutscene proves other wise….
Ripa Moramee(The 17th Arbiter, and the Arbiter from Halo Wars )was bigger and stronger then Thel and he was killed by a human… not a spartan
Thel does have more skill though, but he was at a draw in Halo
with a spartan from Gray team named
John was the best of the Spartans and Thel was at a draw with cool but less skilled spartan than John

also alot of the Halo legends arnt even Canon and bungie really hasnt confirmed if the red elite was actually Thel

Even with Arby already beating MC there’s the fact that currently his armour is capable of unlimited cloak

With weapons I think it may go to Chief since he has superior accuracy and armour. If it gets close then Thel will win but Chief may have the advantage in a gun battle

In gameplay I find human weapons to be superior to covenant, but according to the novels, there not.

As far as skill and overall kills, I’m gonna say their pretty damn even.

I watched Legends (thought it was terrible btw) and I remember the scene with the red elite. Neither character actually one that fight however, so I don’t really agree with your assumptions solely based on that fight. Furthermore, MC was wearing Mark IV armor in that fight and Arby was wearing a Sangheili Majors armor. So first of it goes without saying that Master Chief’s Mark VI armor is vastly superior to the Mark IV he was wearing at the time of that battle. Whilst in contrast Arby’s Arbitor armor in ancient and ceremonial, therefore not nearly as good as the armor he was wearing then and also it does not have unlimited invisibility.

I’d also like to say this. How many other now dead elites do you think thought to themselves “All I gotta do is turn on my invisibility and stab him in the back, Muahahahah.. He’ll never see that coming” just before they got their head blown off with any one of MC’s various weapons.

One other thing. Master Chief is the main protagonist of the Halo universe and Bungie would never create a character within said universe that he couldn’t best.

More recently, MC fought the Arbiter on Ascendant Justice after he destroyed the first Halo, and MC won, forcing Arbiter to flee. So in history, they are both 1 for 2 against each other.

Are you sure that was the Arbiter? The Eilte they fought had armor corresponding to that of a Spec Ops Elite and Thel’s flagship was actually the Seeker of Truth.
