Alex survived a goddam nuke what makes anyone think MC even has a chance against him? Mercer can easily dodge all his attacks, and the ones that actually hit will not do shit. Alex can easily get in close and dice MC up with his blade. MC is not fast enough to get away in time, and Mercer can also throw buses at him.

I haven’t played Prototype, so I don’t know much about Mercer. I do, however, know quite a bit about chief having read the books.

All the Spartans were selected from a group of 150 6 year olds who had been classified as as close to being scientifically perfect as can be. Extremely intelligent, strong, fast… etc. They were trained by the best since the age of six. These qualities and training would have made an extraordinary soldier even without augmentations and advanced armor.

During their training, they learned advanced math, science, and strategic/tactical skills. They have, in their Mjolnir MK VI armor, reaction times under 10 milliseconds, incredibly fast movements, increased strength, and energy shielding. Their armor is made up of a super-strong metal (probably some sort of alloy, can’t remember though). The Spartans were even able to dodge bullets (not every bullet fired at them, just some). They could do this because of their increased reflexex, which caused them to see the world in slow motion. Their reflexex were further amplified from adrenaline.

All of the Spartans received several augmentations at the age of 14. Their bones were made practically indestructible, eyesight drastically increased, intelligence increased, strength greatly increased, and were injected with some chemical that made them grow taller and stronger (growth hormone?). There might be others that just aren’t coming to mind. They could also run extremely fast. In fact, during a “training” exercise, MC, after deflecting a missile with his hand that was traveling at high speeds (not like a rocket launcher from H3 or anything), he sprinted to the finish at 64 mph i think it was… or maybe kph? (I know, there’s a big difference), anyways, I just know it was really fast–fast enough to tear his achilles tendon.

MC can lift two tons or so (not sure on this one, could be higher, could be lower, alot of people think he can lift 4 tons, some think one ton… idk.) Without their armor on, the Spartans were able to dent solid, heavy metal plates with their bare hands, when they were 14 year olds, I believe. Master Chief also killed two highly-trained ODST’s, who were, before the Spartans, the military’s elite. He injured two others severely. He did all this on accident, and without his armor on. In hand to hand combat. When one of the ODST’s had a large metal bar (which he later bends by hitting the ODST so hard he flies out of the boxing ring).

Hope this shed some light on MC, and most of you didn’t read this, either because it’s too long, or you already knew all this…

Ahremos did have some points there but when compared to Mercer, MC is nothing but a mear ragdoll.

The thing I love about this is that its taking too overrated Factpile characters who win matches on usually two biased ignorant fanboy responses:

A) Master Chief will activate Halo and kill everyone, including himself, just to win a duel with three or more people.

The FAIL OF THIS LOGIC: Even if I feel like being retarded and turning BLOODLUST on, who says Master Chief even has ACCESS to a Halo? Second, how can HE activate it? Only constructs such as 343 and Cortana could do that, and even then, ONLY with the Index. Third, if Master Chief DID activate them, he would kill himself in the process. NO he could not just teleport to a Shield World how does that even qualify as “fringe logic”? Oh right, it doesn’t. It isn’t logical, sensible, or realistic at all.

B) Chief will have access to any weapon I think can 1-hit kill someone even if he isn’t regularly shown wielding it.

The FAIL of this logic: Self-explanatory.

C) Mercer will just consume them.

The FAIL of this logic: Apparently Mercer always knows where people are, and will attack them while they are picking their nose so they have NO CHANCE of resisting him such as Captain Cross, Supreme Hunters, and surely Elizabeth Green had she not been weakened first.

D) Mercer survived a nuclear explosion, the other guy didn’t.

The FAIL of this logic: The INCREDIBLE HULK was BORN from an atomic explosion. Superman SHRUGS at nuclear explosions. Sentry, Thor, Sonic the Hedgehog, Dr. Manhattan, Silver Surfer…the list goes ON of people Mercer allegedly “consumes” who are a MILLION TIMES STRONGER than Elizabeth Greene or the Supreme Hunter who would LAUGH at his attempts and would grimace at the amount of blood and guts he’s getting on them. What’s else, Mercer only BARELY SURVIVED IT, he survived because he was SOME DISTANCE away, it was already SUBMERGED in the ocean, and even THEN he just barely returned as a pile of slop. It wasn’t INSTANTANEOUS REGENERATION EITHER, its not implied nor is it proven, as the final scene is overlapped with black cutaways that could be showing ANY AMOUNT OF TIME between Mercer’s remains making it to shore to eating the raven to reforming from the additional biomatter. PLUS he had to consume a bird to do so.

That said, anyone who gives this victory to Master Chief for any of the following reasons is a certified moron. There is simply nothing in Master Chief’s repetoire that could phase Mercer that badly that he could not recover, as much as I like to “break down” Mercer (lol) since people seem to think barely surviving a nuke exclamates Mercer being killed by gunfire, rockets, and tank shells, the strongest possibie LEGAL OBJECT in Master Chief’s arsenal is the Spartan Laser and Plasma Grenades. Now, let’s assume Mercer DOESN’T run faster than a car, leap over rooftops, scale buildings like a dumbed down Spider Man and spews all kinds of nasty things out of his body like Venom on steroids, has the strength to single-handedly toss modern day battle tanks (Albeit with less ease than let’s say…urmm…THE INCREDIBLE HULK) like balloons as HELICOPTERS, as well as jack said helicopters in MIDAIR.

Spartan Laser has enough power to take out virtually any stationary vehicle in Halo, probably even a Pelican with some solid hits to the engines/wings, although I’m HIGHLY skeptical a Covenant Seraph or a Phantom would fall under the same fate. Let’s remember that Mercer can take TANK SHELLS to the chest and emerge relatively fine, and a nuclear explosion although petty can be mounted against the charged 100% spartan-spanking laser content beam. Not to mention Chief has to HIT HIM with it. You may say Chief is superhuman and hs reflexes/accruacy/whatever BS is higher than Mercer’s. Let me tell you as an avid Prototype player and former Halo player, they are NOT. Mercer is NOT even human anymore, he can soak up damage like a sponge, and even given that is not “bullet timer” enough for you people, a playthrough of Prototype and witnessing all of the damage feats he has accomplished will prove this.

Basic summary of my “bias” ranting:

Alex’s most obvious powers are his superhuman strength, speed and durability (both disease and physical). He is strong enough to lift cars, helicopters, and tanks and throw them with casual ease, as well punching through enemies (with and without muscle mass and also one of his consuming moves). Alex is also very fast and agile. He can achieve running speeds surpassing cars, around 100 mph, and he can perform flips and rolls and maneuvers over and around vehicles and debris with little trouble. He can achieve a vertical jumping height of 8-10 (at least) city-type stories and can leap across a whole city block in length. Alex is also capable of gliding by making his biomass lighter in the air. He is durable enough to survive direct hits from hellfire missiles, tank shells and hunters. He also seems completely unaffected from falls; even ones from the top levels of skyscrapers. He has displayed regenerative abilities powerful enough to allow him to reform from being turned to mush from a nuclear blast, so long as there is some source of biomass to absorb. Also, his health will regenerate a ways when he is away from damage (no biomass needed). Alex can also see in both Thermal and Infected Vision. His primary power, however, involves the aforementioned Biomass. He can absorb organic matter of living creatures. This provides him with not only a boost to his health, but also allows him to access and utilize any knowledge, experience, memories or skills that his prey possessed. He can manipulate his own biomass into concentrated areas on his body for a number of weapons, a shield, or even full body armor. When he takes his biomass to the extreme, he unleashes it into powerful attacks with a large area of effect, known as “devastators”. Finally, his biomass allows him to run up sheer vertical surfaces and cling to walls for an indefinate period of time. Alex can adapt to what harms him for example, he develops an immunity to the bloodtox, and that makes him adaptive.

Nice summary, but its really not necessary on a duel over this quickly. Anyone not already convinced of Mercer’s easy victory by this point is beyond hope. Don’t waste time trying to convince them.

maybe insane but not ilogical mercer survive and can regenerate life cosuming “life” if mercer can take weapons amd take out the mc´s sheild , the final move…… or he cant take mc and throw he from a tower simple mc cant survive a strong fall from a tower.

Seriously, can we just give Mercer the win already? The guy (virus? plague? walking death machine?) can pick up a tank and then proceed to sprint up the side of a building while still carrying it (or even jump several stories onto the side of the building, THEN sprint up it). I think he could slap the Chief around pretty bad. Plus, he can catch a thermobaric explosion with his teeth, without the aid of any sort of armor, and still be able to fight after leaping back to his feet. I don’t think there’s much the Chief can do to keep him down, especially with his crappy sub-modern guns.

Plus, can’t Mercer just stab into that gap between the Chief’s suit and his helmet? You know, the one that Infection Form got into in Halo: The Flood? The one that would have ended him if Cortana hadn’t shorted out a piece of his equipment (the one that’s broken at the beginning of Halo 2, can’t remember what it is)? If Mercer gets into the Chief’s armour it’s over.

I know most of this has been stated already, just thought I’d add my voice to the multitudes.
