Link Vs Pit

Very interesting match here. I would love to see an updated version of the Kid Icarus series, maybe that will come out in 2010? Anyways, two classic Nintendo characters duke it out –

Who wins?

The only 2 Kid Icarus games. Pit shares quite a few weapons with Link and I think he may have used them first. He’s got Light/Fire Arrows, Silver Armor, Wings of Palutena, and a Mirror shield.

    Nice match.

What if we went with NES Link vs NES Pit, it would make this match even more classic ha!

But let’s face it, NES link would use the legendary stepladder to walk all over pit making him lose.

I thought it was the most recent versions we used? Which is still WW/PH link, who i think is gay. Sorry link, but if its the most recent, Pit takes it.

Pit from Kid Icarus: Of Myth and Monsters is pretty awesome. He’s definitely the more capable archer with Silver Arrows (w/ Fire) and more maneuverable by using Pegasus Wings to fly. He lacks melee abilities though- he only has hammers and, if he has high enough health, protective diamonds that fly around him and cut apart enemies who come too close.

Assuming no time freezing, I think that Pit will win so long as he keeps his distance.

If this was a match in Super Smash Bros Brawl, I’d say Pit is the better contender.

If I was talking about which character I would root for personally, I’d have to go with Link, if only because I’m more familiar with his games.

Talking about who would win in a fight with recent incarnations . . . I don’t really know enough about Pit to say. I think he might be able to match most of Link’s weapons, but I doubt he could stand up to Link defensively. I’ll wait to hear more people’s opinions before I go any more in depth.

This is pretty farfetched to consider. Why would do warriors wielding heavenly weapons to fight evil combat each other? Would they even be able to hurt another being who is also so uncontestedly good?

Yup. Just like it was Sparta yesterday, now It’s Factpile. But, I think Link got this.. If he gets time-stopping, Pit is done for.

Most current incarnations means Spirit Tracks for Link and Brawl for Pit, no? If so, I’d give this to Link. At a range, it’s a stalemate. Link’s Whirlwind would disrupt any arrows shot towards him and Pit’s Shield would stop Link’s Arrows, forcing melee combat. Pit’s attacks are very fast, but he has two short blades. If Link stays out of the blades’ range his bombs and boomerang could make short work of the angel. Straight-up swordfight though I need to give this to Pit, due to his twin weapons and speed advantage.

Current incarnation is tricky. I would assume “current canon incarnation” which would still be from way back when. Pit from SSBB isn’t a canon depiction of Pit from Kid Icarus, and as such would be considered as two seperate characters. Just like how Zelda in SSBB is capable of using Din’s Fire and a few other spells, yet neither OoT Zelda nor TP Zelda, both of whom SSBB Zelda is based off of, can do that. Actually no Zelda aside from SSBB Zelda could do that.

Anyways I would argue that SSBB Pit is not the character in this game as that character isn’t canon to the Kid Icarus series.

To compound the problem, now that the current Link has changed none of my Pro-Link arguements are valid as I haven’t a clue of what ST Link can do. WW/PH Link was so cool too. I imagin he hated the Hero of Time. I still need to figure out where in the timeline Spirt Tracks is too.

Yeah, I’m a huge Zelda nerd. Or maybe just a huge Nintendo nerd.

In truth I was using Brawl Pit to help the kid out. Otherwise he doesn’t even have a melee attack to my knowledge. ST Link would use the Rope Snake to bring Pit in and slice him in two.

Oh, and Spirit Tracks takes place after Phantom Hourglass. I don’t have it yet, but I know the weapons well enough. I’m a huge Zelda nerd too, lol. I’d check the Zelda Wiki if you want more on what ST Link can do. Actually, I might go ahead and do that . . .

Spirit Tracks is 100 years after Phantom Hourglss. I haven’t played it, but I’ve seen a few things that make it obvious. Among the non-spoilers, Niko the swabby makes an appearance as an old man and there’s an identical descendant of Gonzo named Alfonzo. Linebeck III also appears. So this is one game that was made to fit perfectly in the timeline.

“If he gets time-stopping, Pit is done for.”

Definitely. The Phantom Hourglass would be lethal to Pit. Link’s Evilsbane properties wouldn’t be much of a help, but with the other weapons he tends to carry, he’d probably carve out the majoirty of Pit’s health before he could counterattack.

However, if we’re assuming this is ST Link, then he might not have any time-stopping powers . . . d@mn that current incarnation rule. It always complicates any match involving Link.

I’m sure Link could just hit him with a train and be done with it.

Seriously, though, I’ve pretty much just finished Spirit Tracks and the new one is one of the weaker Links. He’s got all the staples: boomerang, bombs, bow, etc.. He does manage to get Minish Cap style light arrows (no magic, but have to charge up) and a new sword with the power to repel evil. Plus two new items: the whirlwind, a device that makes mini tornados and the Whip, a snake on a handle that bites and grabs things.
