Here comes a match that might seem a bit lopsided, but should be fun anyways. For this battle, all Gears of War residents are attacking the Helghast on their turf.
Who wins?

if its an invasion by the GOWverse…i’m not sure how the Locust will fair pre-landing and drilling… will they be able to survive subterranean Helghast? As for the humies…will they have gas masks and such(i thought the planet was highly toxic) and i haven’t seen a GOW armada….even if they have one i doubt its substantial…
The humans in GOW do have that “Die Hard” quality about them that means they can adapt, evolve, survive……
but either way, the opening cinematic for this crossover game would be EPICHARDCOREEXTREMEFUCKIN’ATHESHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What say you (to quote a great man)

While not as onesided as Killzone vs GoW the Gears boys are going to have major trouble taking down an opponent they know nothing about, on their home turf.

Once again,Gears does not have space capabilities.

I say the Helghans have the victory, andI will prove this with a number of points.
1. – The GOW Have no space bourne craft they can use and since only the resident of GOW are on Helghan, that means no Hammer of Dawn. The Helghast however do have a fleet and have therefore have unrestricted air control and all the benfits that come with it.
2. – The GOW would need to win the war quickly (ha- funny) as the toxic atmosphere would quickly give all the already devestated armies of GOW bad cases of lung burn and other health concerns. Not to mention that Helghan has increased levels of gravity and radiation that would negativly affect any amount of troops to the point that combat effectiveness drops.
3. – Arc weaponry…. I do really need to expound this?
4. – The Locust have no extensive tunnels of which to base their traditional fighting style on. Sure there are a few mines here and there, but they pale in comparision to the Hollow. However, I guess they could dig out more caves to help them, but considereding the time involved and they fact they have red eyed devils surrounding them, this would be stupid.
5. – The GOW universe’s combat ready soldiers are quite limited in numbers considering how the humans have suffered from loss of land and the losses from the almost century long warfare that been occuring. The Locust… well the events of the two games superweapons and flooding of substantial parts of the hollow have rendered them a little short on personal too. The Helghast? So far they have lost an entire army to Killzone 1 (the Thrid army I beleve, which I just realized is another reference to WW2) and the losses of Killzone 2, but they still have a sufficent breeding population and their military is still standing and has delievered the invading ISA a crucial overall defeat.
6. The GOW, having invaded with what I considered to be whatever is on their backs would quickly run out of ammo and supplies as they have no stock piles of ammo to magically appear to resupply them…. and they have no fleet.
7. This is my personal opinion here – If you were given the option of invading a planet full of bunch of facist soldiers, whose sole celebrated occupation is to be a soldier and who would gladly nuke themselves to kill you. Add into the fact that the planet is full of radiation, toxins, high gravity, lightening storms that occur frenqunetly, and the fact that these facists have haranessed the powers of Zeus… would you invade???? Helghan is what Russia is to invaders- HELL.

“Helghan is what Russia is to invaders- HELL.”
clearly you have never tried invading finland, if the russians have a say, its slightly worse…
AHEM…
yes i agree with kenny, small in stature as the helghast may seem in comparison to the COGS or locust, they have technology, numbers and soldiers far in advance of anything that GOW can throw at them.
that being said, the COGS might hold a slight melee advantedge…

Jesus, I’m tired of people making such one-sided fights. I mean if you must use Gears of War, at least match it up against an enemy equal in terms of technology. Seriously, every GoW match has been one-sided against them. Kinda like every Battletech duel actually.

@debaters
its true they don’t have any spacecraft…but how then are they an “invasion force”?

It was never meant to be an invasion battle. I just thought it would be fun to put the Helghast and the Gears of War troops in a battlefield and watch the bloodbath.

You should have read the Killzone vs Gears of War thread then. Not once the iSA and UCA entered the fight. The Helghast are able to take on the COG and Locust without ISA and UCA help.

Nooooooo. Not another Gears defeat. But the COG or Locust are extremely out matched with the lack of Imulsion and the toxic air of the Helghast Planet this isn’t really a fight. It would be fairer is it tool place on Sera no space battles. But since it is not The Helghast Empire takes the easy win.

For arguments sake, let’s say the entire Gowverse just teleported to Helghan. Again, for arguments sake, let’s say its at its peak of power…before the war.
Now, are the Locust like natural molemen? Can they, as soon as they see dirt, start tunneling through? Since its the entire universe at war here, they must at least get some tools…
Sure, the Helghast army is way better than the Gowverse…but i believe the combined armies can at least have a sort of guerilla war…Locust tunnel in relative safety, and create holes for humans to attack via…hitting key locations
if they can make fuckin’ super kwl armour, i doubt they can’t make a helmet with suitable filter to go with it…
Now i’m not saying gow can win…but dammit, at least it won’t be a slaughter of good men ane ok-ish baddies

I’m beginning to notice a pattern here. Whenever one side loses in a universe debate, just ONE of the factions in the winning universe than takes them on. That was the case with Star Wars vs. Warhammer, and was also taken backwards with the Galactic Empire vs. Stargate.
GoW have the advantage of bringing their entire universe to bear, rather than just one faction, but on the other hand the Helghest are more formidable I’d say than the forces in the GoW universe, and they have a sort of home-team advantage. I’m thinking right now that this will be fairly evenly matched.

If its ALL members of GoW, then definately Gears. But if they didn’t have the locust……. it would probably be the other way.

Orbital supremacy > Everything else.
When it comes to transport, surveillance, bombardment, the movement of troops and supplies throughout the Helghan Empire or just dropping heavy rocks on the collective COG heads, orbital supremacy becomes a priceless asset.

@ wtf bomber- Care to expound that since you are by yourself?

seeing as the ships give unprecedented superiority over the GOWverse let’s remove them for arguments sake.

Seriously they need to put this battle on Sera. Then at least the COG can have access to the Hammer of Dawn system to gain some extra much needed firepower.
November 12, 2009

@ Z ( take no offense to me shorting your name, I do that to almost everybody) – Being on Sera would give the GOW universe the home field advantage, but the Hammer of Dawn would actually be counter productive as the Helghast have ships to reach said weapon and turn it on its masters.

“@ Z ( take no offense to me shorting your name, I do that to almost everybody)”
Trust me you really does this with everyone.
Back to the topic… Even if the battle was fought on Sera the Helghast would still win due to orbital and air superiority. Also the Helghast have a well balance fighting force which gives them the upper hand in any engagment

I agree Gears dosent have space capabilities, but by working underground couldnt the GOW team hide from them, wait dont Helghans destroy planets(excuse my ignorance)?
If so then I suport the nomination of the Helghast Empire.
December 6, 2009

Well Helghans don’t have the capacity to destory planets, but every thing else goes there way in terms of tech., numbers, armor units. Its a win.

I third the Helghasts’ nomination of the Factpile award for their win over the Gears of War Universe.

Well does the GOW team have any uber magics at their disposal, or some sort of DNA stealers, something that makes a big boom, anything at all to turn the tide in their favor, even a little?

I dunno. look it up.

They had the lightmass bomb…. but they used it already. No…. GOW is shit out of luck.

I was about to metion that actually, I know next to nothing about GoW but they dont seem to have anything for them in this fight, Ground battles would be interesting, but the Helghast have ships to destroy the opposing force from space…
I nominate the Helghast Empire, for real this time, on the grounds that they have an advantage in just about everything in this fight.
