So I’ve finally gotten to see what the big deal with forge was and I was blown away. With the many types of objects, vehicles, weapons, and locations, this was the largest redeeming factor to me when it comes to Halo. I’ve seen other sandbox modes like this, but the G-mod doesn’t even come close. In my opinion it’s the single greatest feat that a relatively straightforward game like Halo has accomplished.
While a match in forge can get pretty unfair with another player, it’s fun and fairly easy to control the little ball. I forget what it’s called (but from now on I christen it Forge-Ball). The one frustrating fact is that even as a Forge-Ball, you can still be killed! While I know that some people pride themselves with being able to hit such a small target with a splazer, I think that the Forge-Ball should be invincible.
What I’d like to invoke with this article is to have people come straight with what games should have a forge mode. For example, what if Killzone 2 had a foundry mode? What if Star Wars Battlefront 2 had a similarly named mode? I ask you, the malicious readers of factpile, who flame each other incessantly, to find it deep within your hearts and voice what games should have a build mode without getting off subject into a fanboy flame war. And since I’m lazy, I’m gonna leave this article short.

I don’t like you pulling this shit Dracos. Forge map making relies on glitching. Hell, the only way to make an object float in the air is to save and restart the map. Gmod, allows you thousands more options. You can spawn NPCs, there is thousands of objects to spawn and use, build contraptions, whether it be giant mechanical dildos or catapults that launch explosive watermelons.
Adding to that it’s high capacity for mods allowing things forge wouldn’t even dream of, including thousands of weapons, explosives, vehicles, objects, even complex wire attachments from the wire mod. The multilayer grants much more possibilities than forges Foundry hide and seek games.
This is like comparing a plastic spoon to a heat-seeking stinger missile in terms of which can take out the terrorist planes during 9/11 before they crash into the WTC towers. With Forge being the fucking goddamn lonely plastic faggot spoon.

Of course i have world at war, no there are no barriers to repair but there is a random weapon chest (and yes its random) and there are unlockable doors. I could send you the map if you want.

I think an ultimate game to have would be a mix between Halo 3, and Halo Wars.
It would be like this-
Halo Wars sized maps
Halo 3′s forge mode
Halo 3′s 1st person shooter game style
All of the vehicles from Wars and 3
10x the forge budget
and maybe even something that allows you to customize how many AI the teams get with a limit of 32 per team.
playable teams like the flood, sentinals, and UNSC rebels
possibly even usable artilary and bombardments.
Think how epic that game would be.

OOOOORRRR…. A killzone version of forge with more vehicles weapons and being able to create certain weapons on your own. like instead of a bolt gun that has exploding bolts use normal bolts and climb on walls as a puzzle. Destructible environments, all the killzone vehicles, and maybe even create an rts that allows you to select a single unit and play as that unit. standard soldier, FPS veiw. Vehicles, third person camera and multiple weapons. in fact a blended game like that would be great from any franchise.

Take away Halo 3 fps and add Call of Duty: Modern Warefare fps. Next, remove Forge and add in Gmod style sandbox. Include destructible environment from Red Faction Guerrilla and Crysis graphics. Finally, include Euphoria, Havok and DMM. Put races from 40k in the game, make it only for PC and slap it on Steam. That would be a good game IMO.
