Dark Light
Drizzt Do’Urden Vs Dante
Drizzt Do'Urden Vs Dante (Devil May Cry)

Ok, in all fairness, I have to say that I am a HUGE Drizzt fanboy. I’ve read all the books in the series, so of course I am going to be biased towards him winning.

So, Dante fans, tell me how I am wrong in choosing the Drow as the victor?

I would say Drizzt if it is a staight sword fight but Dante is pertty bad ass with those guns if Dante pulls those it a whole new battle and I dont think Drizzt can win in that case

Drizzt wins in a sword fight.

If Dante pulls out his guns though, it’s over for the Dark Elf; not even he can block bullets with his scimitars.

I’m sure Dante has more than just mere swords and guns.

In a pure sword fight, Drizzt wins easily. Insert magic and/or demon powers and its a draw. Again, insert guns and Dante wins.

    Story!

Drizzt is one of the finest swrodsmen in anu setting. his skill surpasses that of Dante by an immesurable margin.

In addition to that, he is Drow. He has several magic abilities that have proven to give him considerable advantages over his oponents. Dante has demon powers, true enough, but the Drow has defeated full Pit Lords. Very formidable demons of great fighting prowess.

He has several magical items that further enhance his capabilities. One of which is Icingdeath, a sword that completely negates any form of fire that might cause him harm. His anklets would also prove to make him too fast for Dante to follow.

Guns. Hmmm, guns are a tough argument. However, Drizzt has Gwenwyvar. Shoult Dante start unloading lead, Drizzts could be able to take cover and summon his magical panther to deal with Dante, or at least to distract him enough to get to sword’s range once again.

    Drizzt wins this one.

im a huge fan of each. for anyone saying dante cant keep up with drizzt’s sword do u remember DMC3 opening cutscene where he and vergil were moving so fast the rain stopped. im not saying Drizzt is a slouch that was just to establish Dante’s skill. it comes down to if dante uses his various styles like quick silver. also if he goes demon he is invulnerable as for guen i would think after a few demon powered shots drizzt would send her away out of fear for her safety. i think drizzt can go blow for blow if

he reverts to hunter state but once dante slows down time usin quick silver or produces a doppelganger or goes demon its over for drizzt. then when dante picks the scimitars up he’ll be awesome with them because of his weapon mastery. oh and sorry 4 the 2 posts im on my psp and there’s a limit how much you can write at once

Its a good suggestion, but like many other great ones, some people are just not well informed so they get ignored.

Anyways, as for your argument. I think you are incorrect. Icingdeath is a formidable weapon, in the hands of Drizzt is even deadlier. Im confident that this weapon can cancell many if not all demonic attacks against the Drow. After all, Drizzt defeated a much more powerful demon than Dante with the scimitar in Ertu.

In addition. Dante has absolutely NO skill that can compare to the Hunter.

Hunter + Icingdeath + Twinkle + Gwenwyvar + Anklets = WAY too much for Dante to handle.

Im more of a DMC fan but im gong to say what i truley think

In a straight sword fight Drizzt would win, but Dante would put up a good fight especially if he was in his Devil Trigger state.

If Dante is able to use guns in this fight i have to say he would win this fight

Alright. You all seem to underestimate Dantes power. Even without his guns and demonic powers, he will still win. Saying that Dante is a lesser swordsman is ridiculous bordering on blasphemy. Not only is Dante a better swordsman, he is also far faster. He has had many more years of experience and fought many stronger enemies. Although his real age is not mentioned everyone knows that he is far older than he looks.

“Im confident that this weapon can cancell many if not all demonic attacks against the Drow.”

Icingdeath would not cancel out any of Dantes powers. It protects from fire. THATS IT. It would protect him from Agni and Ifrit if Dante used those weapons. It says no where nor is implied that Icingdeath would stop Demonic powers

Drizzt would have zero chance against Dante unless some extreme circumstances were set such as Dante has no arms or legs and is blind.

If worst comes to worst in this 4 second fight, dante pulls out his guns and blows Drizzt and Guen away or slows time and slashes at his own pace.

Meh…I’m a great fan of both. Personally I think that they would have a draw; both are exceptional swordsmen and very fast. This was filed under Swordfighters so my opinion is solely based off of that category (demon powers, Gwen, guns, magic, and immortality aside).

I think Dante’s teleport ability and aerial acrobatics would win him the battle against the hunter state of Drizzt’s. If the battle gets airborn how would Drizzt be able to muster up an offensive volley against Dante who could still attack from all sides

I will say that I am a fan of both characters; both are impressive warriors. As far as strict swordsmanship, negating all other abilities and weapons abilities, I believe Drizzt would win. Anyone who has read the Salvatore stories knows; what sets Drizzt apart from the pack is his ability to improvise under pressure. Now as far as innate abilities go Drizzt would be on the short end of the stick, only being able to conjure a globe of darkness and outline an enemy in fairy fire(which does not burn;-p). Dante on the other hand well…. you know. And if you really want to get into weapons/armor specs then its yet another ball game… But just so you know (Kiramaster); Icing Death, you’re right defeats any fire, however it also absorbs the life force of demons once it sticks ‘em) so if Dante went demon and got stuck by Icing death… game over. But to be fair, If Dante used guns i don’t know if Drizzt’s enchanted anklets would get him out of harms way. I think Dante’s aerial antics may help him quite a bit. Their running speed seems to me to be about the same Both can seem to be in two places at once. I think the greatest single determining factor in this fight would be The Arena and the time of day/ night. midday out in a field–Dante; any where else after twilight Drizzt.

I’m pretty sure that Dante’s time stopping Bangle of Time is going to help him out a bunch here. After all it is rather hard to dodge that decapitating blow when time is stopped and you are unable to move.

Does Drizzt have any counter to chrono-manipulation on that level? (10 second time stop; up to something like 3 minutes straight if all of Dante’s items are included)

I prefer Drizzt’s stories, but in a fight I’m afraid that Dante would take this. His defenses and resilience(what with his healing factor, royal block, etc) are much greater than the Drow’s, and time-stop is something that I don’t think Drizzt has any sort of counter towards.

Its based under swordsmen and Drizzt is a better overall swordsman, the fight goes to Drizzt.
