Cloverfield Monster Vs Godzilla
Cloverfield Monster Vs Godzilla

Suggested by 06matthew06
I don’t think we’ve seen the full powers of the Cloverfield monster (yet), so I think it’s going to be on the losing side of this match.

What say you?

Considering all in all, Godzilla would have the upper hand. It seems larger, might have tougher skin, and is more intelligent. The problem for Godzilla is, after he kills the baby, He will have to deal with a mother who is possibly five times bigger, stronger, thicker skinned, and more intelligent. You all knew that the Cloverfield monster was a baby right?

yes we know its a baby however it withstood the u.s. army and its not stated if it actual was killed when the us dropped the largest non nuclear explosive they have on it so if it survived thats a hell of a lot of firepower so i dont know if godzilla has firepower to match that

more information on his stats would be nice anyone

Okay, I am not a Godzilla fanboy (that was an extreme lie), but I do know ALOT about him, seeing that I own every single Godzilla movie, and video game.

It also doesn’t help that I hate Cloverfield, but I will attempt to push those annoyances aside.

First off, which Godzilla are we using? Some Godzilla’s are much larger then Clovey here, while others are roughly the same size. Websites state that Clovey is 120 meters. I believe that is a flat out lie. In the movie, Clovey is only larger then some medium sized building, while the Godzilla from the 90′s was 100 meters, and towered over medium buildings, and was as tall as most skyscrapers. So size is a problem in this match.

    Now onto the fight.

Clovey withstood some small arms fire, yet, later in the movie is knocked over by jets and small bombs. Godzilla on the other hand, in most movies, is completely unaffected by small arms fire, and tanks and jets barely do anything. Japan had to create new weapons to even bother Godzilla in most movies.

Now, I read somewhere (I can post a link if asked to), where JJ Abrams (who made Cloverfield), said that the monster did indeed die at the end. I am going to take his word.

I am not sure if in the end of Cloverfield, they attacked with a nuclear bomb, or advanced missiles, but either way, Godzilla has him beat here. Godzilla was born from nuclear activity, and as survived advanced missiles, and things far worse. Godzilla also survived implosion- that is impressive. He also fires nuclear blasts, which would greatly damage Clovey in my opinion.

Now, if we want to include the parent Clovey in this fight, just tell me. It will be hard to compare due to lack of information, but I think Godzilla could win in that fight too.

come on, name on movie monster that DOESNT beat the army.

back on topic, cloverfield as a baby was shown to be pretty tough, but the main threat, it seems, was the parasites, as they could beat us up on the ground. so you have both a hammer (the monster) and tweezers (the parasites) which can engage targets seperatly.

however, godizilla has faced tougher opponents than the cloverfield baby, so my money is with the king of lizards here.

although the mother would most likely fuck him over…

Although we know incredibly little-to-nothing of the mother, I think most Godzilla types could beat her.

Take a few things into consideration:

1: We don’t know the size of the mother. Though most assume that the mother is x5 bigger then Clovey, think about this: Covey has been asleep for thousands, possible hundreds of thousands of years- he’s most likely grown since then, wouldn’t you think? He might be adult size now, or as big as his mother now.

2: Godzilla, in Godzilla: FW, defeated an incredible amount of monsters, he came out victorious in a 3 on 1 battle (Rodan, KC, and Anguirus vs. Godzilla) and his Nuclear Blast was enough to blast Kaizer Ghidorah into SAPCE. Ghidorah was bigger then him, by the way. We have also seen Godzilla survive being imploded, as stated, and seen how thick his skin is.

I could go on and on about what Godzilla has done. I am pretty darn sure he could take on Clovey, and the mother, when you take all I have said into consideration.

Back on topic, if the parasites in the movie had a toxic bite, doesn’t that mean clovey might have one too? I remember one godzilla animated episode where he got infected by some alien virus….he was pretty messed up…so maybe if clo can get a bite in?

Godzilla’s skin is near impenetrable. He also has extreme regenerative abilities, and has survived imploding/exploding before.

You think Clovey’s bites (or it’s parasites for that matter) will penetrate a hide that has taken repeated blasts from freeze tanks, countless missiles and all sorts of varying beam attacks?

    No chance.

but not before putting up a more impressive fight than the americn knock off godzilla. (the one that died in less than ten seconds)

The American knock off Godzilla was pretty strong, though weaker than the Japanese one. It took a torpedo to the face…. Then survived tanks, as we’ve seen from the Japanese one. It was only killed by something strange… I forget what it was…. Oh, maybe the same bomb that killed Clovey?

The one thing I can consider a downside for this type of discussion is the limited knowledge of the Cloverfield Monster. We know it’s a baby and how strong it was against the military, but we don’t know how effective it can be against another creature of similar stature.

Also, that Cloverfield Monster survived the Bomb.

Well, not ever seeing the movie, and having little to no luck on finding info on Clovy…..

Godzilla is great and all, but these movies have always been a little…. Short on Special effects. Everything is always a little slow, so maybe it shows him to be greater than he is?

    @Debaters

Which version of Godzilla are we using? The answer could very well Change the outcome…and please, don’t be biased. the weaker version for the baby sounds good…save the big guns for Momma bear

“Godzilla’s skin is near impenetrable. He also has extreme regenerative abilities, and has survived imploding/exploding before”

doesn’t that depend on the version…in some versions, when Godzilla fights other monsters, he usually gets bitten and such, blood freakin’ oozes out and shit. is baby clover can get just one bite in…

Thats only usally because those monsters were made form Godzilla’s cells. Spacegodzilla, Orga, Destroyah, they got lucky. And Destroyah got REALLY lucky because he was fighting a Godzilla who was about to have an internal meltdown, AND STILL LOST. Clovey doesn’t have a chance. again, GODZILLA FTW!

To be honest, no-one can say how clovy will fear against godzilla until we se him fight another monster. But thinking about it… he’s not as fast as zilla and he’s not as strong as GODzilla so over-all he’s gonna get diced, I mean we all saw what happened to that zilla in final wars don’t we? He got owned and I’m sure cloverfield will suffer the same fate. NO ONE FUCKS WITH GODZILLA BITCH!!
