For me personally, this may be the most epic match ever posted on this site. I became a fan of the original series from all the years of re-runs on tv, and I watched the new series when it was in it’s initial run.
The upcoming movie looks fantastic and I hope it gives a jolt to this classic franchise.
Both captains are legendary and both are worthy. But when it comes down to resourcefulness, physicality and of course, scoring with the ladies (and creatures) Kirk is the winner, but not by much.
Who’s the favorite here?

If were talking who would win in a star ship battle each as captain then picards enterprise is way superior to Kirk’s but if they each have the exact same equipment at there disposal then I’m going to have to say Kirk. He always got out of some very tight spots.

Picard has the superior Enterprise, but Kirk can use his clever schemes to outwit him. Remember his self-destruction of the Enterprise to deny the Klingon leader the Genesis schematics in Star Trek 3? That’s strategy.

picard is funnier and acts almost like a normal person in some situations as demonstrated in a video where while being fired up by obsolete arms from an opposing force stared out the window with a look of disbelief on his face before shrugging and giving orders to fire torpedoes in in a way that actually meant

Although, if this is a fist fight, Kirk clearly wins. Kirk is a superior ground combatant and tactician, where as Picards strength is in space battle and fleet movements. I think we need a clarification for just what exactly this fight entails.

In terms of combat, Kirk wins. In terms of leadership, Picard wins.
I think instead of fighting, these two would make an awesome team. We could still have the fight, not to the death, but the loser ends up being firstmate. =)
