Who can collect the bounty first?
Master Chief has a bounty on his head and he’s being hunted by Durge, Boba Fett and Samus on planet Tallon IV.
MC has been stranded on Tallon IV for 2 weeks so he knows the environment well. Master Chief has all his weapons and he has equipment for booby traps.
The hunters are not allowed to engage each other.
If he’s not captured/killed withing 48 hours he wins…but if 1 of the 3 hunters get him who would it be?

MC has more of a chance then people think. His traps all together should slow down the hunters from 30 min to 2 hrs. He can’t be tracked thermaly, Motion detectors won’t help much considering there are zillions of animals scampering around on that planet. The local wildlife would also be a factor as even durge isn’t gonna ignore a pack Sheegoth’s in his path, Then there is the problem of running down chief when do you find him. He runs at about 50 miles an hour…I think? I’ll have to look that up. I’m not saying he’ll win but he definatley has a sporty chance.

“Problem creatures? Metroids if there are any… (I’d like to think there are still some!).”
Yeah, they’re all over the phazon mines. But then, that’s an area MC would want to steer clear of anyway. There was one Hunter Metroid in Phendrana (not one of the labs), though. I remember because it confused the hell out of me. Speaking of, the research facilities in Phendrana may still contain Metroids, depending on how fast the Pirates bugged out after Samus was finished. I’d assume they just left them because Samus had already let the Metroids out of containment.
MC’s best bet probably would be Tallon Overworld. The Chozo Ruins and downed Frigate aren’t big enough to hide in, he can’t enter Magmoor, Phendrana is pretty lethal, and the phazon mines will just kill him. And assuming he is hiding in the Overworld, he’ll be damn hard to find. He could be in any one of those obstacles that Fett and Durge will be flying 25 meters above. He won’t be able to be spotted from the air. Samus has an advantage searching, but it’ll be slow.
And MC setting traps may slow them down a little, it’ll paint a gigantic “MC WAS HERE” sign. Fett and Durge are flying around when suddenly a massive explosion goes off. Maybe Samus ran into a trap, maybe MC was aiming for them, it doesn’t matter. Fett and Durge land and Samus is pissed. All three now know MC’s general location. At that point he’s pretty much done and it all depends on who gets the first shot.

Who said it had to be an explosion? Maybe he has a pit and put a grav lift over it like in those annoying custom games people make. Maybe he’ll have a log swing in and knock someone off a cliff. There are a number of traps chief can make that don’t cause an explosion. Not alot will work as well as he would like or even at all but hey if they spend 5 minutes yelling at chief for having log break their new watch thats a five minutes they aren’t spending looking for him.
Chief has been hunted before and number one rule of setting booby traps for the hunter. Never use explosives unless A. you’re positive it will kill them or B. if they’re about to find you and you need to stun or distact them long enough to run or reposition.

Sanghelli, it still means that “MC was here”
Perhaps it would only alert one hunter, but it still means that MC was there.
Yet, at the same time, that possible suspicion could be used against the hunter, as MC could have used the various elevators to be long gone from that area, while the hunter is searching frantically for him.
Yea, Tallon Overworld has lots of little holes and areas that Chief could crawl in or even blast open a little to make a hole for himself. Heck, he could even steal some of the wild-life’s holes.
There’s only one more thing I want to know about this scenario, and that is:
Does MC know that the hunter only have 2 days to capture him? If so, then he won’t have to worry about food or water, but if he doesn’t he would almost undoubtedly at least get a drink, forcing him in a somewhat exposed situation.
But still, I think chances are that MC is going to survive this.

“Second, I don’t think it would be a curbstomp for Samus against Fett or Durge. As long as she doesn’t have the composite rule on her side anyway…”
I have to agree. I’ve always argued that Metroid and Star Wars are pretty evenly matched, especially considering the Terrawatt and Terrajoule figures. Of course, that won’t really come into play in this match thanks to the no-engagement rule . . .
Currently I’m thinking that Durge isn’t going to win, except maybe by a burst of luck. Samus and Boba have better chances, and given the size of the hunting ground, MC should have a pretty decent chance to keep himself out of sight for 48 hours.

he knows 3 hunters greatly superior to him are hunting him down.he does not know details about the contract they have so he is unaware of the 48 hours.

If he is unaware then he will probably be forced to get some water at least. While MC could survive 2 days without water, I highly doubt he would want to put himself in a situation where he hasn’t has any drink in 2 days. He wouldn’t need food (heck he could store it) but he would probably get water.
Yet we are still talking about an entire planet; and someone who can run as fast as cars, and who can take elevators which travel who-knows-how-far though the planet.
The more I look at it, either Boba might find him running as he searches the sky, or Samus *might* pick up a fast moving object on her radar. Sorry durge, but you aren’t going to have much luck I’m afraid. but these are quite low-probability events.
Now if Chief only had a smaller amount of time… say 2 hours… to explore the planet, their chance would probably increase an order of magnitude at least. But I give this to the chief.

agreed, the size of the area tobe searched, combined with the chiefs knowledge of the area means that the hunters are unlikely to kill/capture the chief within the alotted time

“durge has advantages in all categories except speed so i give it to durge
I believe Samus and Boba beat him out in weaponry mate. Metriod’s weapon stats, though not as informative as Star Wars, is pretty damn powerful. Boba also has the ability to call in Slave 1. So no, unfortunately, durge does not have the “weaponry” superiority to the other two Bounty Hunters. In terms of taking an explosive round to the torso and keep on going, Durge does win (he just never seems to give up……like that American movie Rocky……..).

well durge had some thing I think boba does not have such as the two energy shields that block light sabers and the magna bolas. but still boba and samus have more equipment.

“well durge had some thing I think boba does not have such as the two energy shields that block light sabers the magna bolas.”
True, true. But Fett has his Mandalorian iron armor, which can shrug off lightsaber attacks like nothing, and I think L-W or Alpha mentioned a plasma flail on the Fett vs MC debate… However, I believe Durge possibly has greater durability than the other hunters… Or at least second greatest.
“I think durge can collect the bounty first.”
Perhaps… But so far he has the least greatest advantage. Sad, but true.

i do wonder though.chief is going to do alot of backtracking.his crashed ship is the only 100% secure safespot and it contains his supplies.2 weeks might be alot but even chief cant travel over a planet in 2 weeks and most certainly not tallonIV.its only logical hes somewhere within a 500miles radius of his crashed ship.its still alot of ground to cover but it can be done if the hunters play their cards right.

it only says that the chief is stranded, it says nothing about a crash

it would be logical he crashed with a ship of supplies.1 does not magical strand on a planet with a crapload of equipment around him.

“Durge gets him, he isn’t effected by anything…”
While Durge is undoubtedly an experienced, skilled and probably the most durable hunter hunter here, he’s kind of lacking the speed, tech, intellect, etc. that Fett and Samus possess… The real match winning necessities.

Wait, where can MC hide any way, talon overworld everywhere else is insanely dangerous to him, and do the space pirates still control the area, they would hinder all four combatants, wouldnt they?

“To WHO? no boba does not have Mandalorian iron armor.”
…Yes, yes he did… Have you not read the new Legacy of the Force series? Here’s some more of that hateful Wookiepedia:
“Around 40 ABY Medrit Vasur made some new armor plates and a helmet for Boba from some of the Mandalorian iron deposits that were discovered in the countryside around Mandalore. Medrit and his husband Goran Beviin thought it more proper that Fett’s armor be made from this material, since he was Mandalore. The pieces were painted in the same color pattern as his original armor. Medrit added a gorget to the ensemble, explaining to Fett that this way he wouldn’t have to worry about being killed in the same manner as Jango had.
Fett switched out all his armor plates prior to the Mandalorian mission, under contract from Admiral Daala, to retake the Star Destroyer Bloodfin. He opted to replace the helmet when he could later add all the electronics to it himself. After taking several blaster shots during the conflict, Fett decided that the extra weight of the new armor was worth it, since he noticed a distinct difference in how much more punishment the armor could take than his original duraplast armor. The neck gorget would later prove itself useful after Fett approached Jaina Solo just after she had taken care of some adversaries. Startling her from behind, she instinctively swung her lightsaber up to decapitate her would-be opponent, but the gorget stopped the lightsaber blade before it could do any damage.”
Son, I’m one of the biggest Fett fanboys here on the site; typicly when I say somthing about him, I mean it…

Durge would win only because he can regenerate his body parts, he’s sorta like a cyborg, and he has only been able to die by being thrown into a star. Basically he cheats, so he wins hands down, well, that Durge can’t really be stopped, but it’s not a battle to the death, it’s a race, so anyone can win I guess…
