SCHWAG!

Well, we’ve had some ask us what the definition of ‘Schwag’ is. Basically, it’s FREE STUFF that you typically get at conventions or anyone else trying to get you to remember their brand name.

In most cases, they call it ‘Swag’ - but we’re looking to do things a little bit differently.

With 2009 fast approaching, we’re building up a schwag section for the site where you’ll have the chance to win free stuff from us. In fact, we just made it live - visit our store link to enter!

What’s Coming in 2009

So, while everyone else on the planet will be setting their resolutions and predictions in the next month or so for 2009, we’re here to tell you what we are GOING to do come January 2009.

More posts daily: At least 2 per day, but most likely 3…
More site content: We’ll be adding a ‘fiction’ section with original material
Ratings: We’ll eventually make it so that you can just vote the winner of each match if that’s all you want to do…
Expanding the Horizon: There have been some suggestions to do other topics outside of the gaming/comic/movie/tv area - such as pitting the Beatles against Oasis, as an example. We’ll run a couple of them, if they do well, we’ll continue to make more. If not, they’ll get axed.
But most importantly: We want to hear from you, the readers of the site. A lot of how this site has evolved has come from suggestions made by you. So, keep them coming, we consider all ideas no matter what the suggestion is. You can email us at info@factpile.com, or leave comments throughout the site - we read every single one of them no matter how long it takes.

FactPile Award

There have been people asking for a trophy of sorts for winners of the battles. So, here we have our first version of this award. The first recipient of the award is the Star Wars Universe in their battle against the Halo Universe.
However, this award will not be given out on the basis of a few votes or the number of times someone posts that their respective side is better. Only the matches that have fair representation on both sides and comments without flaming insults will qualify for the award, and the winner needs to have a nomination as well to qualify.

In the future, as more qualify, we’ll consider having a ‘Hall of Fame’ section for all the winners. The losers? Nothing but teabags for you…

Microsoft, Thanks for Nothing

FUCK YOU Microsoft for making me want to pay $99 to repair yet ANOTHER console of yours? A supposedly ‘Elite’ system which I had to purchase last year the DAY after Halo 3 was released since I got the Rings of Death?.

Last week the frozen screen appeared, that was fun. And then a few times I would get a black screen of nothing - the same screen you get when someone quite in Halo 3 multi-player and the system scrambles to re-synchronize itself. And more freezing.

So I called tech support, jumped through all the hoops, did all the stupid ‘online fixes’ available at your support center online. Big help that was. Spent nearly 2 hours on the phone with constant apologies. Guess what? Apologies won’t make my xbox work again, FUCKTARDS.

Yeah, so now you want me to pony up $100 to fix YOUR FUCKING problem? When I can goto ebay and get another system for $139?.

Hey, I know stuff breaks but to want to try and gouge me to fix what you STILL can’t get right is total Bullshit.

I know I am just one of millions of people who buy your products and just a little piss-ant like myself won’t make a dent in your corporate billions.

Funny line the tech support told me while I was on hold: ‘Hey, isn’t Halo 3 a great game?”
My reply - “Sure, when you can play it”.

Oh, and yet another bonus from Microsoft. Last week I got a PC with Vista on it. Funny thing is, if you walk away from the computer for more than an hour - you also get a frozen screen there too.
