How to Pull off a Craigslist Scam

February 12, 2007 by admin

Let me first start by stating that you should never try to scam anyone, it’s not nice, it’s illegal, and in the long run, it will come back to bite you in the arse.

But, with that being said, here’s a breakdown of a scam that happened to a friend of mine. To protect his identity and marriage, we’ll call him “John”.

John was on the risque part of Craigslist (erotic services) and had found a “service provider” that he was interested in. Her name is “Daisy”, oh- by the way, here’s “her” gmail account: princessdaisy69@gmail.com

Daisy - CL Scamming Whore

So, on “her” post, “she” talks about being new to the area, and to email “her” for details. Note - the real “pros” never do business by email - they make you call, as my research concluded.

So, now here is the sequence of emails that took place:

I saw your ad on cl and am very interested. do you do afternoon appointments?

(Daisy) [See how fast the reply is?]

INCALL Rates: GREEK $300 FS 1hr $170
30min $100, BBBJ $70

OUTCALL is extra

I REQUIRE half the $ up front via, GREENDOT MONEY PAK UNIVERSAL
RELOAD. This is done as an added precaution for my own safety. It is
really simple! If you let me know your zip code, I’ll find the closest
store to you that sells it ( usually walgreens or rite aid). You give
the clerk at the register the amount of cash you wish to put on. There
are a set of numbers on the back side, all you need to do to confirm
our appointment is to email them to me. Here’s a link of what it looks
like;

green Dot Universal reload card

* Note: Please make sure you do not purchase a debit card, just the
universal reload *

Thanks for your understanding and patience, it’s truly appreciated :-)

sounds good, I just have few questions as this is the first time i’m doing this.
1. are you a cop? (sorry, gotta ask!)
2. can you do afternoon appointments?
3. do I need to bring protection?
4. local wise, where are you located?

I am interested in the greek so as soon as you can reply to my
questions, we can get this rolling.

thanks!

ok, here’s the number

1014-5143-3123-9828-584

are you available on wednesday anytime between 11 30 - 1?

thanks

…And that’s where the email conversations end with “Daisy” - “She” now has that all important number to activate the $150 worth of value on the reloadable card.

As much as I feel bad for John, I have to admit, it was a great scam - So if you’re ever out whoring, stay away from any chick (or dude if you’re into that) who wants this green dot crap.

First off, I’m not John. Second, I say if he was willing to pay to get screwed, he should be satisfied, and this way there’s no STD ;)
