General Grievous Vs Link

Excellent match here. While many arguments about how the Force would come into play, what about just a straight up duel of the blades? No Force, no Magic - pure swordplay.

Who wins?

Why would the force come in to play? Grievous can’t use it, and neither can Link (unless it’s the tri- variety)

And by no magic, do you mean none at all, or no additional magic?
Because if it’s no magic, and no things that work on magic, then Link’s loses his super strength, super toughness/durability, and the indestructibility of his sword and shield (which in a fight against a lightsaber will be very important), and becomes just a normal person, rather than Link, and has no chance of winning.

But if it’s Link as he actually is, but is restricted to only using his sword and shield, I think he could make it, mainly due to his god-like reziliance, so even though grievous has superior speed, he’d have to hit link a lot more times to win.

Unless Link’s sword and shield are made out of cortosis, Grievous wins.

Grevious wouldnt even be able to swipe his robo arm lightsaber before he has either any arrow in his implants or on on sword in his heart

Link owns Grievous end of story. Grievous was killed out so fast on the movie, everyone knows he has no chance

id say this would be unfair because grievious is a machine to kill blade wielder as jedi pretty much splus extra arm if u say no force tghen no extra arm lol because only blade to blade fight id say grievious win by far but f you count the factor of link having power and grievious having his arm then id say link he would just put mask of goron and roll on him or yuse arrow of light or simply use his tri force lol xD

Well saying Link can’t fight with Magic is unfair, because means Grievous can fight at his full capacity while Link can’t.
With the current rules of this engagement Grievous would win, but if Link was able to use magic then Grievous would get owned.

If you didn’t be so specific and say “pure swordplay” at the top, I could’ve pulled a loophole, because technically, although Legendary, a lot of Link’s items don’t use magic, but then I read that you put “pure swordplay” I say although close, cuz I know Grievous’ power, Link would eventually win. Link has skill, and more importantly in this fight is his mental power. Let us not forget that Link has found the weakness of everyone he has fought.

I completely understand why you all sopport link and yes he has great power. but would not stand a chance aganist general grievous. he has mastered every form of lightsaber combat plus his own form. he is reposneable for killing over 50 jedi. but yes but with regular swords general grievous would win with three arms tied behend his back.

Yes, but Link has had experience far beyond Grievous. I know that Grievous knows every lightsaber form extremely well, but that is not enough. Plus if Obi-Wan Kenobi could find and exploit Grievous’ weak point, then Link could effortlessly do that.

Im inclined to agree with this. Link has exploited similar weaknesses far too many times before. Hell, he has exploited even more elusive weaknesses. Link is perfectly capable of deflecting all four sword-arms with his sword and shield fighting style until such an opportunity arises.

One slip, and the cyborg goes bye-bye.

ahh yes but see in the fight with obi wan he was weakened by mace windu by crushing his cest plate making it so that he had to have his armor open like that so grievous 100% health would beat link

I know the whole story behind Greivous. I know that Greivous is at 100%. Link would still outmatch Greivous and exploit his weaknesses.

Grievous is coated in armor that is used to make spacecraft. Not to mention the fact that Grievous is crazy faster then Link, not to mention more skilled. I don’t know what kind of magic Link has, but in a pure sword fight Grievous is the winner.

Ah, but Link can easily cut through Grievous. Grievous is not faster, he uses his 4 weapon fighting style which intimidates most opponents when all that is needed to win is maintaining focus. Link does not fear things, nor lose focus. Link would easily beat Grievous.

You fail to understand Link’s skill and speed. From what I understand, Link’s stat upgrades are not taken away. With these, Link is far faster than Grievous. If those happen to be taken away, Link could own Greivous in a regular sword fight, or don the Fierce Deity mask, turning him into the Fierce Deity himself. The Fierce Deity basically lives to fight. He’s had milleneum after milleneum of experience. Link stabs Greivous’ organs out one by one with the Master Sword.

i am not sure but the mask would go over magic. but really from what i know from link he does have any fighting style beside so he has no form plus also i know link can pin piont any one weakness in fighting but grievous has mastered eight different types of fighting styles so link would be died before he found out the weakness to all of the froms.

Mace Windu crushed Greivous’s organs with one lightsaber form. Link just needs to hit Greivous’s weakpoint (which would be rather easy), not his lightsaber forms.

They are for player support, because sadly some players aren’t able to figure out how to win. Plus they are only around for OoT and MM. Link can find Greivous’s weakness easier than any bosses because it is just screaming to anyone “HIT ME”.

ok so htting in the chest secondly force sruched his chest plate and that is why he died because it weakned him. and plus here let me tell you what link would have to do get past two arms of defence adn 2 of offence and lastly let me go over links move left swing right swing down swing up swing and spin oohh real scary of a kid just swinging a sword around with no training really .
