Great match up here. With Magneto’s abilities, I think the Chief can only win by keeping his distance, but then, what tactic could he use to win?

Well this is actually a great battle… If MC has not stats on Magneto before he fights him his in a world of hurt. Because as soon as he gets close or even within attack distance he is going to be in trouble. If Master chief would have some info on Magneto before he fought him he could possible snipe kill him from distance but Magneto could simply stop the bullets and if its a rocket he would stop that too. If Master chief would use the plasma covenant sniper he could possibly take him out with a few shots. or possibly the laser cannon but it would have to be a sneak attack on Magneto with Master Chief having all info on him before the attack. But if he doesn’t kill him upon the first couple hits then MC is going to be in trouble… There is also one other possibility. Cortenna could reconfigure master chief shields to block out Magneto’s control over MC’s suit. this might be the best course of action with a few stat sheet on Magneto… So unless MC has this one planned luck is going to help him at all..

As I mentioned in the MC Vs. Wolverine debate, Magneto has dominance over more than just ferrous materials, but the entire electromagnetic spectrum, which includes the properties of just about every atom in the known universe.
Even if his armour was composite, Magneto could simply strip him bare, atom by atom. Or subject him to a lethal dose of gamma radiation, burn him with Thermal radiation or simply blind his vision with an excessive dose of UV.
Plus being able to fly, generate an invincible protective field, tear the fabric of space time, create duplicates and control the minds of whomever he wishes with psionic capabilities has its advantages
magneto is in the 2000’s and master chief is in the 2500s’. by then they would have new metal that magneto wouldn’t be able to control. plus chief has shields so magneto would have to get past those.
All of Chief’s weapons magnetically latch onto his armor. That means they’re still affected by magnetism.
More importantly, why would you want to remove that sort of property from metal, when it serves so many practical applications?
Magneto all the way, any attack of MC he could simply block with his shield (and yes his shield is way more powerfull than MC’s). And it is already said by guest of how MC’s armor is affected by magnetism so Magneto could simply crush him. But even if it wasnt, all Magneto has to do is manipulate the organic iron in MC’s bloodstream.

Not only must the Chief rely upon a Metal alloy (As guest pointed out, it has some of the most valuable properties known), but his entire body would no doubt prove to a veritable mine of metallic or electromagnetic properties.
The bone grafts, the alloys that would be fused to his interior, his weapons and the subsequent magnetism used to latch those weapons to himself. The electronics used in most of his implants and the suit itself, all of this would be dependent on an electrical current that Magneto could simply manipulate. Master Chief is helpless in this fight.
don’t piss me off now. he is a spartan magneto is not. if wolverine can defeat magneto then master chief can kill him. remember, magneto would have to get passed his energy shields first.

And how exactly would masterchief’s shield’s stop magneto’s power?
Do his shield have the ability to stop the fundamental forces of physics? Seeing as masterchief doesn’t keep floating in to space due to the lack of gravitational force, I’d say no.
And the shield’s don’t seem to prevent the sticking of magnetic weapons, or sticky ‘nades.
It’s also known that the shielding doesn’t do anything against electromagnetic radiation (otherwise he wouldn’t be able to see).

Even if masterchief removed his armour, and didn’t use weapons, he still wouldn’t be able to defeat magneto, who could just avoid masterchief by flying, and use the metal from the environment to attack masterchief. (also, how would masterchief remove the alloys from his skeletal structure?)

In any case. I’m reletively sure MC’s shield wont affect Magnetos powers and, although his armor its self is not magnetic, I’m sure Magneto could screw up the circuitry enough to freeze MC into a statue and trap him in his own armor then crush him with a truck or something. However without his armor, I think MC could live long enough to kill him, but let be honest.. How often is MC without his armor?
When I stumbled upon this website I quickly saw the need to enlighten MC fanboys about characters other than MC. Magneto is a character that he simply can’t beat. Magneto would simply fuck him with his own armor, and as for going without armor, nice try fanboys, how long does mc live without shields? not fuckin long, Magneto would just smash him with some huge metal object(car, truck, you catch my drift),given he enviroment of course. There is metal every where in the world, maybe not in immediate reach, but Magnet could just fly over, get it, and bring it back.

This is simply a battle that the Chief cannot win in any Universe, in any shape or in any form. Why are people hypothesising any different? Unless they wish to simply prove quite how illogical they can be, which in that case many of whom have proven themselves.
Magneto can kill the Chief on an atomic level. This is not an issue of shields, swords, rockets or firearms; THIS IS PHYSICS! When your enemy can simply reverse the electromagnetic spectrum and split your own molecules, then you are doomed from the start.

It is an alloy, as it contains metal. Just because it also contains ceramic layers, doesn’t mean it would negate the metal layers in any way.

But covenant weapons fire plasma, (which is strongly effected by electromagnetic fields), so would probably be more useless against magneto than throwing metal at him.
For once Mecha Bob is right. Plasme is created by super heating metal, so technicaly he could probably throw it right back at the Chief

magneto wins.He could be aggresive and and split him atom by atom, Crush him with his suit orclog up his blood by filling up his heart with all the medal in MC’s body. Or keep it cool and deflect all MC wepons. Cortana is as usefull as being constipated. Any equipment can be thrown at the chiefs head like a BUBBLE SHIELD!! And MC’s shield could only and barely protect him from returned small arms rounds.

Magneto really could win against 20 MC’s, as much as I like MC, he wouldn’t even be able to pull the trigger on his weapon, Magneto would rip it out of his hands and point it to his head, like he did in the movie with all those cops.
