Epic battle here - MC goes against perhaps the most intense character in video game history. Kratos would come at him with amazing fury - a very challenging fight for Chief.

tough one but……I’ll say MC since all he would have to do is pop Kratos in the head one time and it’ll be over unless Kratos has some type of ability or magic that can resurrect him or make him invulnerable to bullets.
i dont know much about kratos but he has a good chance of winning.
I see masterchief winning this one.
Kratos may be better than normal humans (i.e. he’s superhuman), but not to the same extent that masterchief is (especially with all his armour and tech).
And most of the points people usually bring up for Kratos (4 of the 5 points made above) are that he has bad personality traits (basically an angry and irrational guy) but these personality defects would actually make him less likely to win.
In GoW2, Kratos gets the Golden Fleece, which can deflect any projectiles sent towards him. So popping him in the head ain’t gonna do a thing to him.
MC would have to use a energy sword to defeat Kratos, and I think we all know who is the best swordfighter out of the the two of them.
Can deflect projectiles, but can’t protect him from explosions (e.g. rocket, nades, fuel-rod-cannon).
mc snipes him end of story.
mc rules doesn’t know the difference between a God of War and a mortal man in a metal suit. End of story.

First MC would snipe him, he wouldn’t be dumb enough to get up close to him. If trying to snipe him didnt work he would lazer him.
If Kratos threw his chain sword at him, mc could cut it off w/ his energy sword (now kratos doesnt have anything), then MC would walk down and punch his skull in.
ANOTHER SCENARIO:
Kratos throws his chain sword at him, MC deflects it w/ his grav hammer and it comes right back at kratos and chops his head clean off..
I dont haave anything against Kratos, but we all have to know are 2 things:

Guest, your absolutely right. I myself have gone with that argument on a few occasions, but that is what master chief does if you think about it. We pick the weapon that can can kill the enemy. In the case of Kratos that would be nearly anything explosive ie. Rockets, Fuel Rod Cannon, Spartan Laser, brute Shot, ect. plus any type of grenade. So we go through that simple thought proccess then state on our post
“Master Chief would turn Kratos to smoldering pile of ash with the Full Rod Cannon *because I think that weapon would be most useful* after cutting his chain swords to pieces with his energy sword” **Like MC Rules suggested: he can do this because the energy sword is from the future and the technology used to create it has obviously given it the special qualities nessesary to cut through metal like butter. Which is one of few quality demonstrated accurately in the game ie. every time you cut through an enemys armor*
So:

I wonder how effective Kratos’ weapons would be against Titanium-A and an energy shield?
It’s already been clearly outlined that MC can get around K’s projectile protection. But how is Kratos supposed to beat Chief at all? So far I have only seen way’s Kratos can and can’t be defeated, I want his fans to make me see how he can win.

since kratos is a god i say he can jump and fight well and his sword probably is really good but it can get cut off w/ energy sword but his fleece can block “any” projectile….
mc uses sl kratos blocks it w/ golden fleece. then kratos runs up to mc but he draws out his energy sword and puts down a regenerator and tries to stick kratos. kratos dodges it and gets really angry then jumps back and throws his chain blade sword at him mc cuts the chain off w/ his sword.
mc tries to cut kratos w/ his sword then kratos uses fleece to block then punches chief but he has the energy shield so it doesnt do anything. while kratos is wondering why his punches dont do anything mc punches kratos in the stomach and he goes flying back close to where his cut off chain blade is. mc walks closer and closer but kratos, INJURED VERY BADLY, gets his sword. mc tries to lazer him again but kratos blocks it w/ golden fleece. MC is now about 10 feet away and he throws a firebomb grenade at k’s golden fleece so it lights on fire. now kratos has to drop it. MC now runs at kratos w/ his energy sword but the fire has gone out by now so he get his golden fleece. MC tries to hit K again w/ sword but he blocks it w/ fleece then K hits the chief w/ his fleece making MC drop his frag and spike grenades. Kratos runs over to where mc is and tries to stab him but he blocks K’s sword w/ his energy sword making K’s sword cut in half. MC runs up to K again and firebomb’s his fleece, it lights on fire. kratos really is P!SSED now he runs at MC and tries to punch him but MC cuts his hand off. Now MC runs at him. Kratos punches him w/ his other hand but MC ducks under sticks his back, then kicks kratos away. Kratos got blown up…
if i hadnt tried to make the story sound cool it could have happened in these ways:
Kratos throws his chain blade sword at MC, he doges it then grabs the chain and pulls making kratos fly up. then when he is almost to where MC is, MC sticks him in the face.

Are you fanboys kidding me? kratos once blew up (Read: Exploded) an entire Army with his thoughts alone, the Chief wont last two seconds against a God.
In several of these fights, a lot of people have been referring ‘gods’ (that have beaten by characters in these fights), as if the term ‘gods’ means they are somehow virtually invincible, and by beating them means a character can’t be beaten by someone else who hasn’t defeated a ‘god’.
But in fact, these ‘gods’ are fairly weak themselves, and defeating them is no means to measure someone’s power, and all these gods could easily be defeated by Superman, or some other character that has actual power.
So saying that kratos (or anyone) would win because he’s beaten some lame ass god doesn’t mean shit!

And being hit by a superheated mass of plasma (i.e. fuel-rod-cannon) is going to do a lot more damage than just being hit by a solid piece of rock.
I suggest you research Greek history before making such ignorant statements, Ares was not simply some lame ass god, he was *The* God of War. The son of Zeus, the cause of the annhilation of the Ancient Titans (The forgers of the Universe itself) and the very reason behind warfare. His influence actually bred bloodlust within mankind, he was the harbinger of violence and the reason for war itself.
God does not dennote to invincibility, but rather a state of omnisicence or strength far greater than those that either worship or revile the source or being itself.
Yes, he was killed when the Pillar struck him squarely through the chest after being thrown by Ares himself, as would anyone else. Yet despite this, death proved only to be a minor inconvenience. He quite literally crawled his way through the bowels of Hades, clawing through the earth only to return stronger than he was before and ultimately defeat a God.
When Master Chief dies, say hello to the loading screen.
I must comment though, your reasoning is quite…Well, VERY poor; almost akin to that of a Child. Although ideally the Ancient Greeks prided themselves upon reasoning, thus further educating yourself upon the subject can only really help you in future.

Why would researching greek history make a difference?
This isn’t a historical debate, this is a debate of game characters, and the gods of the games were a lot weaker than the gods of greek history.
And perhaps you should provide your own reasoning before attacking mine, (or haven’t you any?).
People have given several different way that masterchief would win, but you haven’t even given one reasonable way that kratos could.
Are you being deliberately ignorant of what I’ve just said?
Other than defeating a God and becoming the God of War himself in turn, thus granting him the vision to foresee and command every war in Human history (Inlcuding the Covenant-Human conflict).

Kratos has and can come back from death. He was not given any powers other than Spartan tenacity; and with this alone he ascended from death with his bare but powerful hands, fit and ready to fight literally moments afterwards. Generally the purpose of these fights is to permanantly KO an enemy (AKA Dead as shit), not to have them return seconds later twice as strong.
But as I can see that is not to your satisfaction, I’ll simply list a mandatory group of semantic heavy options for Kratos to employ in combat whilst also conveying points in history where these abilities were used:
- A variety of weapons forged from Olympus itself, such as Chaos blades, the Great Hammer and the Blade of Oylmpus. All of them weapons designed for the very puspose of destroying the Ancient Titans (Just the big guys who created the Universe and gave birth to the Gods, nothing special) and all of them far greater than any weapon that any mortal could manufacture. Potentially they could wipe out entire galaxies with the magic that enfused them; the very magic that makes them unbreakable.
Also his Armour is that of Hercules. Literally the powers embedded within Hercules have been transferred into a suit of armour, which quite frankly all over MLOJNR.
- He can channel Poseidon, Lord of the Oceans through himself; just for the purpose of kicking butt.
- He may also channel Zeus to deliver bolts of high current lightening to fry his foes.
- He is equipped with the Eurayle to turn his enemies and whatever clothing they are wearing into Stone. With this power alone he could turn MC into a block of granite.
- The Atlas Quake which can rend the Earth beneath the feet of his opponents.
- Also in his reppetoir is the Amulet of Fates, which allow him to stop time for everything but himself. The wings of Icarus that allow him to fly and the Golden Fleece which deflects all projectiles and instead returns them to the sender, at even more accelerated (And devastating velocity) than before.
- Finally (Other than superhuman strength and agility), Kratos can summon the dead to fight as weapons on his behalf. This being can channel Hades and use the dead as supernatural projectiles.
- Was the only Human to ever reach, equip and use Pandora’s Box to his own will without destroying the Universe. He took the most powerful weapon in the ENTIRE Universe and used it attain victory. Which is how he destroyed the Ares by the way, thus not weakening his postion as the God of War, but rather only threatened it.

So there we have it, a former Spartan General who commanded the largest Armies of Greece, defeated the God of War, BECAME the God of War whilst gaining the strength, determination, foresight and ability to wield incredible magical powers. Carries weapons that no human could ever design or forge, wields weapons capable of destroying the entirety of existence. A flying millenia old warrior who is capable of deflecting projectiles, turning enemies to stone, summoning the strength of Gods, capable of killing Titans, using the Un/dead as weapons in combat and can even STOP TIME in such a way that would put Neo to shame.
Never mind that he has Earth shattering strength (He has sunk Islands with his strength alone), survive explosions great enough to wipe cities off the map and the agility to fight Minotaurs, Hydras and the occasional God.

i dont really know what your all thinking, but Master Chief could take a cloaking and take a gravity hammer to the back of his head and it would be over. any questions? thought not. im serious, a gravity hammer, and it would all be over. BUT there are 2 other thing that could kill kratos: grenade his butt off or he could take a spartan laser. 5 minutes with one of those babies could wipe out an entire planet, if it had infinite charge. you dont even need infinite charge he could just shoot the ground and it would go all the way to the earths core and blow it to heck. END OF STORY. MASTER CHIEF ALWAYS WINS.
Kratos pretty much destroyed Olympus, escaped from hell more than once, and killed a few Olympians. Oh yea…he can control time as well.

Don’t forget that not only does Kratos have the Golden Fleece, Zeus’ Fury anyone? And also Kratos could normally block practically anything…then in terms of up-close stuff theres things like Army of Hades, Poseidon’s Rage, Blade Of Olympus, Rage Of The Gods/Titans…MC has had it.

I would say mc but then I remember one fact about kratos, he owns all, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. If you can kill a god you can kill mc, catch my drift?

Coz if you did you would remember that Kratos has the power and help of ALL THE GREEK GODS, has PANDORAS BOX and IS THE GOD OF WAR himself
And at the end of the game he turns to about 200 metres tall, and no spartan laser can kill 200 metres of pure muscle and angry greek god.
