   Spawn isn’t going to lose to this guy. After spawn rips that sword out of his hands using his chains and whatever guns he has runs out of bullets. Spawn beats the hell out of this guy while he hangs upside down from a chain within a inch of his life. Then takes him directly to hell to allow every other demon to get there turn at slapping Dante around like a little @##@#$ for the rest of eternity.

   That’s a little bit one-sided. The guns won’t do anything, Spawns symbiotic suit blocks those automatically using the chains(watch the cartoon/varied issues for reference), so Ebony and Ivory are out of the question. The sword and Dantes Devil Bringer(where he changes into the demonic form) powers are his only chance. Were it brought down to Spawn using his cape as an axe(which is why he has no cape in soul caliber, as well as spawn armeggedon when not gliding)and dante using his fathers sword. Dante would behead spawn no problem. Dante is far more experienced in that field.

   As Spawn’s cloak feeds off ambient evil energy, Dante turning in to his demon form could make spawn stronger as well.

   And Spawn’s power doesn’t have a time limit, whereas Dante’s demon form does, so if it proves too much for Spawn, all he has to do is keep his distance until it wears off.

   And as Dante’s sword (being all demonic and evil) wouldn’t kill Spawn.
   And in a previous Spawn thread, someone mentioned that Spawn can summon any weapon of hell, which means he can just summon Dante’s demon swords away from him, and use them himself.

   According to the houdini arc(iss 20/21 I believe) it was shown he can summon anything he puts his mind to. Also, a hellspawn(there are several of hellspawn, the Al Simmons only advanced further then most due to him selling his soul for love)can be killed if beheaded, unless if that changed recently(within the first 50 issues, Billy Kincaid comes back as a hellspawn, and spawn beheads him no problem without using a heavenly weapon). Spawn actually does have a power limit up until the armeggedon arc when it dissipates. Look at the first issue, that bar with the 9:9:9:9 was his counter. It lowered as he used his powers.

   Isn’t Spawn’s 9:9:9:9 power counter only for magic-like attacks (e.g. green fireball)? His strength, and non-magic powers come from either him or his cloak, and don’t have a limit.
   Good point about the beheading though, it wont matter if Dante doesn’t have a sword to behead with (if Spawn summons it away).

   I’ve also noticed how many people are using bob-like name (bob being short for both Bobby, and Rob).
   interesting…
   I was going to suggest, (because of the bobfullmess) masterchief verses the legion of Bob, but the only famous Bob’s I can think of would be creamed by masterchief (e.g. Bob the builder, Silent Bob (no Jay), Bob (from heroes), Bob (from Weeble &), SpongeBob (Squarepants), sideshow Bob, Bob Dole, Bob Hoskins, Bob Ross, Bob, Bob, Bob etc.)

   Bobbys actually my nickname.

   The counter takes away from not just magic attacks, but it’s what fuels him period. Spawn is Necroplasm in a suit. The cape does help, but if you read through the series His suit acts on a defensive purpose only. Though they are symbiotic, the suit does have it’s own mind.

   Oh, and spawn doesn’t summon things away, he creates a new one out of nothing. Just POOF! This was explained in the houdini arc also.

   dante kicked the sh!t out of a boss just like spawn, named he despair embodied, so why couldn’t he beat spawn?

    Isnt Dante invincible

    Sure in the game you can lose your health and lose the game but They have to do that for gameplay reasons

    But watch any DMC cutscene especially the one where lady shoots him in the head and where Nero impales him on his own sword, both times he took no notice or was just playing around.

    Dante can slow down time with his quicksilver ability (from dmc30

    Dante is stronger than sparda.. who sealed off the demon world

    Dante rebellion sword is a manifestation of his own power and not completely demonic in a sense.

    I dont know anything much about spawn but I honestly think/know that dante’s is invincible and no-one can beat him

    Also he looks cooler

    Spawn has a weakness to heavenly weapons correct? He gets those greaves that are heavenly so he has a weapon that is effective. This coupled with teh shear speed of dante, in one cut seen he runs so fast air superheats around him and in another he trades 20-30 odd strikes with a sword before a drop of rain can fall the length of his body, both are much faster than Spawn. Therefore faster and a weapon that works so I guess that I give this one to Dante

    Given the last two comments, spawn can stop time temporarily, but other then that, I guess Dante does beat spawn.

    Spawn wouldn’t have such an easy time absorbing Dante’s power. He’s half after all…

    Also, considering that Dante’s guns never run out of bullets (powered by demonic power), it’s not an issue….

    Dante’s weapons of choice against Spawn would be:
    Gilgamesh (alchemic Desconstruction through greaves and gloves)

    Beowulf (Holy Greaves and Gauntlets+Holy Hadouken)

    Pandora (Destructive force of unparalleled power. Yes, THAT pandora)

    Seems like Force Edge cancels out demonic power, so it’d be dangerous for Spawn?

    Spawn might explode if he tried to absorb the demonic energy from Sparda….

    Gameplay DMC is underpowering Dante just to make the game challenging. Dante is on his way to becoming a Demonic GOD i swear.

    I seriously Disagree with the first post, c’mon Rob ANYONE who played the DMC games know that Dante is Badass, If Dante is too slow too hit Spawn on time then maybe Vergil, his brother, will, which reminds me, If Dante uses Yamato then it’s the same effect, without Vergil, since he’s dead

    I still can’t say that Dante will win overall. In-game wise he can still be defeated by any means.
