I prefer Cohen, to Conan (discworld reference).
But Conan easily for the win, he is superior to Xena in strength, skill, experience, intelligence (he’s a frickin genius) and almost every other factor that would matter in a battle.
He may be superior in strength, I’ll give you that, but not skill, experience or intelligence.
As for experience, Xena was a warlord herself for 10 winters before she sought out for redemption/an anti-hero, as for skill, she’s been taught various forms of martial arts from a slave girl caught on her ship when she was a young pirate/pre-warlord (in addition, self taught swordplay ever since she was young, protecting her village from warlords that came to burn and pillage) and of course as for intelligence she always finds a way to solve the problem, many times in ways you’d never think of.
They’re about the same height (Xena, an inch away from being 6 ft) Xena is toned but not very muscular, however being huge in size doesn’t necessarily automatically give Conan the advantage by default.
Are you freakin kidding me….what kind of question is this. Hello Xena all the way, Conan…who is that…a man with crazy muscles…well that’s fascinating. Now Xena a woman has it all…strength, power, drive, skill, the pinch…need I say any more, well I am going to. Xena fights evil among the world and her inner demons every day. She has it all, the flips, the weapons, use of resources, a sidekick…well not a sidekick really….a battling bard - Gabrielle,… oh and her warrior cry…you can’t tell me this other dude has a warrior cry. This Conan guy is no match, he has what…strength…yeah well then we might as well have Hercules vs. Xena in which case Xena would still win.

Conan is far superior to Xena in intelligence, he can speak and read many languages, decipher ancient writings, solve impossible (not litterally, as he can solve them) puzzles, is an excellent tactician and strategist etc.
Conan was a well respected warrior amongst his people, even as early as 15, and roamed the world gaining experience from everywhere he went, and eventually became the King of the most powerful kingdom in the world, so I don’t think Xena’s 10 years in an army meets Conan’s level of experience.
And if the fighting skills she learned from a slave couldn’t have been that great, seeing as the person who taught Xena couldn’t even stop herself from being captured as a slave.
And Conan is far better in combat than Xena basic martial art skills.
And they’re not about the same height, Xena (Lucy Lawless) is only 5′10, whereas Conan ( although never actually given a specific height, mainly being “giant” and “massive”) is well over 6 feet tall.
Conan would beat Xena worse that Hercules (yes, Xena fought Hercules, and Hercules easily won), but unlike Hercules, Conan wouldn’t hold back.
It sounds to me like you don’t know much about Xena, Mecha Bob - Xena has all kinds of tactical skills, and her martial arts skills are far above “basic.” She took out many warriors who were much larger than she, so I don’t see what difference it makes if Conan is a giant (oh, wait, Xena killed TWO giants!). She has harnessed mystical powers, as well. She also has a chakram, which she could use to take out Conan before he even saw her coming.
She wasn’t IN an army for 10 years - she was LEADING an army. (not to mention her time as a pirate AND a Valkyrie).
The main skill she learned from the slave M’lila was the pinch, not a fighting skill at all, and clearly the girl was smart enough to escape when Caesar captured Xena (and this was early days in Xena’s career, before she turned really, really evil).
Xena killed Greek gods, single-handedly drove the Persian army out of Greece, created Stonehenge, and made Chuck Norris look look a pansy. Any other questions?

So can Xena. She’s been to Rome, Chin, Jappa, Egypt, Britannia, Gaul, etc. I can’t remember what specifically was said during an early season one episode that was ‘The Reckoning’ but Ares knew that Xena was knowledgeable in that field. Touche on the slave girl angle, however, Xena was also trained by the GOD OF WAR, and has beaten Gods before. As a warrior, it doesn’t really get any further than that.
Hercules never ‘easily won’ over Xena. In fact, had it not been for his scrawny little cousin interfering during their fight, he would of never gotten the upper hand.
Of course Xena will win. She is charming, intelligent, and has many skills.
Ok ill settle this.. Conan would never ever ever in a million years lose to Xena PERIOD. Just wouldn’t happen. Xena is really good and strong good looking. I’d say there almost even at everything. This actually would be a amazing fight.. But heres what would happen… Conan would trick Xena into sleeping with him and then he would old witch her #ss right into the fire. and if he couldn’t get her to do that he would over power her in every way. There both close range fighters and whoever has the power in that situation has the advantage. Lets see a real challenge… Conan vs Master chief..

Okay…enough is enough. Well done Elfrieda, I couldn’t have said it better myself. As for Conan getting Xena to sleep with him…ha, nope…not going to happen. Xena has found her soulmate and she would risk giving that up for some guy who is obviously on steriods. Close combat…as Efrieda said, Xena’s chakram would kill him before he ever had a chance to respond. Just give it up, Conan lost this fight before it even began. With that being said…any more doubts? Xena’s chakram would kill him? Unlikely, that thing’s more of a toy frisbee than a weapon, And Conan could easily catch it, deflect it with his sword, or do what Hercules did in his fight against Xena, duck.
Xena used everything in her skills to conquer opponents. So if anyone seduced anyone it would most likely be Xena seducing Conan. Then stab, you’re done. Aside from that she had at least two gods on her side. By my reckoning she was pretty much about to take over and lead an army at 15, so lots of experience on the bloody dark side of the world. Someone who fights with the knowldedge of the world, the dark and good sides, and besides she’s fast. I can only imagine the only way Conan would be very fast at all is special effects. Xena would be flipping all over the place and just annihilate him.
A Toy…nope…that is a lethal weapon in which only Xena has…a one of a kind. Catch it…in all the history of the show…onlly a few people were able to catch the Chakram….Xena of course, Eve…but that’s because she’s Xena’s daughter, Gabrielle…Xena’s best friend and that was in the very last episode, Callisto…she claims Xena created her, and Autolycus…but that’s only because Xena was in his body so he really didn’t catch it. Conan can’t duck when it’s comming from behind and he doesn’t see it. A Toy…I think not. *Xena throws the Chakram it splits in two and hits Conan directly in the back* See I told you…Chakram…Conan…Dead!
So what of Xena is in the favour of some gods, it’s Xena vs Conan, not Xena and gods Vs Conan.
And Conan’s fast as well, he has the speed and agility of a panther, and probably faster than Xena, who is more acrobatic than agile.
And as I pointed out before, the Chakram was useless against Hercules, and there’s no reason to suggest it would be any better against Conan.
That is because Hercules knew about it…Conan’s never heard of it. And that was the old Chakram….this is the new and improved one. Obviously you haven’t seen the speed of Xena and her fast reactions. Go watch the series and then we can talk so more…but in the end. Xena still dominates!
I’ve watched the series, and I also watch a lot of martial arts, and Xena isn’t that fast, at least not as fast as Conan is (obviously you don’t know how fast Conan and his reactions are, go read the books, all 200+ of them).
And I can’t see how not knowing about the Chakram would make much difference, if something is thrown at your face, you’re going to make sure it doesn’t hit, so it wouldn’t matter if it was the old Chakram, or the double-yin-yang one.
And the Chakram doesn’t seem to be all that deadly anyway, bouncing off armour, wooden shields, and someone’s face without even leaving a cut.

It could kill him if he isn’t paying attention. A chakram is not a toy nor a frisbee, far from it in fact. The ‘Chakra’ actually is a real weapon (go look it up, its origin is in India) and its obviously more of a boomerang than a Frisbee because it returns back to her, she doesn’t just toss it. VERY FEW WARRIORS has been able to catch the chakram, so don’t say it [that he could easily catch it] as its a fact!
The Chakra was made by Hephaestus, the God of technology, blacksmiths, craftsmen, artisans, sculptors, metals, metallurgy, fire and volcanoes (need I say more?). IT COULD CUT THROUGH ANYTHING. Conan could not use his sword to deflect it. As for speed, Xena is fast and senses everything, and she is very familiar with her surroundings. She’s just about the most paranoid warrior there is LOL.

*Conan pounders for a second then shakes his head. Again with two fingers, Conan is able to breath. Xena walks away but hears him charging once again. She flips again…

*Gabrielle pulls her sias and as Conan thrusts his sword she ducks and stabs him in the side. Conan looks down and then decides enough is enough.

*Conan upset walks over and starts to throw one blow after another. Xena deflects them all…
X: Tired yet, because I could keep going
*Conan takes a deep breath and looks for his sword, he droped it when Gabrielle stabed him. As he turns around to pick up the sword, Xena realizes she must use her sword. She pulls it out and blocks his hits. Their swords lock and Xena with one thrust throws Conan’s sword into the air.
X: Look I am willing to walk away, this is nonsense.
C: An oracle told me, that in order to be truly the greatest in the land I must defeat you.
X: Well I’m sorry to say, you will not be full filling your destiny.
*Conan is clearly upset and turns to Gabrielle who is standing nearby. He walks over and holds a knife to her back and forces her to become his shield.
X: Okay Conan, now you have really pissed me off.
Xena grabs her Chakram and throws it, it bounces of the stone wall and as Conan watches it, Gabrielle jabs him in the side and he bends over. Gabrielle runs away and pulls her sias back out. As Conan rises his head the Chakram comes back around and hits him right in the head. With a blank stare, he goes down.
*Xena and Gabrielle both relax their stances and thier weapons return to thier place.
X: Conan vs. Xena? Xena won!
G: Who ever saw that coming

Conan wouldn’t wait for Xena to have a conversation, he’d just attack, if he charged Xena, he wouldn’t miss, if Xena tries to flip over him, Conan would just cut her down in midair, Xena wouldn’t be able to deflect even one of Conan’s attack. And if it was an effective weapon (which it isn’t) it would have seen a much more widespread use.

Chakra is something completely different to chakram, maybe it’s you that needs to look them up.
Very few warrior in the Xena universe have been shown to catch it (there are probably other who are able, but just haven’t been shown doing so) but as Conan is as quick as any of them, it stands to reason that he also has a good chance of doing so.
And if it can cut through anything, then why wasn’t it able to cut through armour, wooden shields, and that guys face I mentioned earlier? If a wooden shield can deflect it, then Conan’s sword can easily do so.
And for that matter, has it even ever been shown killing anyone?

You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet.
And isn’t Xena’s second Chakram (the yin-yang one) something that the gods are highly vulnerable to? So killing them isn’t that much of an achievement (but gods in that spinoff series were never really that powerful anyway, only showing slightly-superhuman fighting abilities). And without it (or some other weapon the gods are vulnerable to) she would have fared worse than she did against Hercules (who, may I add, was holding back).
As for the gods Conan has killed, he’s killed some goth demigod, by ripping its horns off, and some demigod-god of metal, but the main gods in the Conan series are incredibly powerful (unlike the ones in the Xena spinoff) and don’t interact with human/the mortal plain. Although, if by gods, you mean people who are as powerful as the gods Xena has beaten, then it’s probably most of Conan’s major opponents.

You refer to the strong, ruthless Persian army was small? Yes only a small sector of the entire army charged; but that proved to be a real challenging battle. If you remember or seen the Crazy 88s fight from ‘Kill Bill’ you have a good idea how long it was, only that the men didn’t fight in a choreographed manner when they broke into the calvry. The God of War is far from weak, for example. It wasn’t an easy walk in Greece to fight him either…

And this fight has practically already happened, Hercules easily defeated xena, even though he was holding back.
The chakram didn’t work against him, xena’s acrobatics didn’t work against him, xena’s skills and experience didn’t help her against him. Basically, she lost, and there was nothing she could do.

You Conan fans seem to think that Xena didn’t last long but it did, and it is still going. The show had a fantastic 6 years of success and every day it continues to bring in new fans. It is one of those shows that live on even after the camera stops rolling and the director says action.

Hey, you dont know anything about both shows.Again, any idiot could see they’re very different.
Let me tell you something, there millions of Xena fans around the world who were fans since the beginning of the show, and they still are. 7 years after Xena ended we still have a stron fan base and lots of communities where we talk about Xena. Also we have Conventions every year, and many fans attend to that.
Xena was not a short life show, it still lives with our community and we the generosity of the fans.
Also with the episodes rerunning many new fabs are joining.
Hercules was a different show, and we do not watch Xena because it is it’s spin off, but because it a show that gave us so much in our lives.
But this debate went in a different direction and has nothing to do with the original purpose of it
I agree the direction of this debate is the fact that the character of Conan would destroy Xena. And not just because he is a man and she is a woman. There are lots of woman who could beat men out there. Conan could take on armies and armies of people and still win. Xena could never beat armies and armies of people. She would be lucky to escape with her life.

Your mistaken…there is more than 6 amazing seasons…there are the shipper seasons and the virtual seasons which can be found online. Not to mention the loads of fan fiction available. There is a community of hundreds of members who meet daily just to discuss the show…conventions held every year after how many years after the show ended. While Xena lives on in the hearts of many Conan is a dying idea. Xena came in and showed the steriotype of a male hero is out the window. She kicked ass for 6 seasons and continues to do so till this day. Relax people I’m sure Conan was a great icon for you but get with the times. Females dominate, we are the stronger sex and thus Xena wins. Not only her sex but her skills are beyond comparrison. The only sad thing is we will never truely see the fight and you wont be able to watch you dying icon really die.

I decided recently did a phone book survey calling 100 people from the white pages randomly asking them the question on who would win the fight. and the results are now in:
Out of 100 people surveyed, 30 people didn’t know who Xena was, 60 people said Conan would beat any women especially Xena, and 3 people said that Obama would also beat Xena, 4 people said the warrior princess would win, and 2 people said they didn’t know who either was especially Xena, and one person said john McCain would beat Xena with his bare hands naked while trapped in the jungle…
