Borg Cube vs Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer

Borg Cube vs Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer

Woah. Two giants going against each other here. I personally think the Borg have an advantage from a technical standpoint, but the Destroyer may be a more agile and potent craft.

Borg Cube

  • Missile weapons
  • Self-regeneration
  • Cutting beams
  • Tracking beams (used to assimilate crew of captured vessel)
  • Transwarp capabilities

Imperial Star Destroyer

  • Turbolasers
  • Ion Cannons
  • Tractor Beam
  • Projectors
  • Shield generators

Is this match up even close?

The Borg Cube is not a star, and therefore can’t be destroyed by a star-destroyer.

But seriously though, the Borg will just beam over loads of drones on to the star-destoyer’s bridge, and take over.

And with their adaptive shielding, and remojelative phaser, the Borg can remain unharmed, whilst doing a lot of damage.

I believe this to be a closer battle then some may think. You would almost have to compare a Imperial Star Destroyer to a star fleet vessel. Because Star fleet vessels like say the enterprise have destroyed Borg Cubes before. So is a Star Destroyer bigger then the enterprise? I would have to say yes. Plus a destroyer has tons of little ships on board to help aid the attack which the enterprise doesn’t have. And since storm troopers are quicker then Borg drones then I’d say the storm troopers could hold them off if they beamed aboard. Now the Borg would adapt and that would make the fight longer. So the star destroy would have to have a good strategy but I believe the destroy could win simple based on the points I’ve listed.

Well keep in mind though that the technological specifications of everything in starwars is much higher than that in startrek, missiles are stronger, shields are better and ships are faster, is this just a standard SD or is it the Executor?

Well seeing as star destroyers can be destroyed by a few asteroids, and a Borg ship can survive crashing in to a planet, I’d say Borg technology was better.
And stardestroyers don’t seems to be able to move that fast when they were going in to the asteroid field (or at hoth of endor either) and don’t seem to have as much maneuverability as Borg Cubes either.
The weapons range, and targeting have also shown to be better in StarTrek, and Borg will quickly be able to adapt to anything the stardestroyer throws at them.

And the picture clearly shows what type of stardestroyer it is.

Borg, I suppose. The general reaction between Star Destroyers and Borg things is worse in the area of Borg…

A single Star Destroyer can carry up to 72 TIE Fighters. That would me the Borg essentially would have to fight, in Star Trek terms, 72 armed shuttles. Those odds aren’t too good for the Borg. And besides, the Borg rely on computers to function. Computers = electricity, so the Borg would be destroyed instantly if the imperials were smart enough to fire even 1 ion cannon.
