This is a awesome fight! Both from different planets. I would have to say the edge would goto Goku. Superman as a weakness in kryptnight where has Goku does not. Also Goku gets stronger with every fight.
The winner is: Goku
I wouldn’t even say this fight is close, Goku would easily win, being faster (can use instant transmission in battle) and more powerful (could destroy an entire galaxy with one attack) than Superman.
And which versions of the two are being used? Because silver age Superman is (probably) the strongest Superman, and may make things difficult for some (but not many) variants of Goku, although if it’s Goku after DB-GT (after he has absorbed the dragonballs) then he’d be unstoppable.
Or is it just amalgamations if all the different versions of these two?
Ah depends on which super man you use doesn’t it? If you take what is known as pre-crisis superman then I think he would have a d#mned good shot even against the all dragon balled up Goku. He in the 1940’s till 1980’s could do nutty things as get nuked and not even reel back, fly through a star and not get tanned yet alone burnt. Could move not just faster than the speed of light but go so quickly he can move through time thus kicking Goku’s #ss before he is big enough to fight back if he really wanted to. He had heat vision that could melt and vaporize anything. Freezing breath. Hurricane breath. Strength to push the whole planet out of orbit the list goes on and on….
It won’t be easy as this power is similar to Goku’s when he absorbs the dragon balls yet I think that he could do it due to the fact that Goku could be beaten unconscious pre-crisis superman could only be weakened via kryptonite and magic. Goku has neither on his person.
Would be a laugh to watch this though especially if it were in a ring with an audience

Does a Chi blast count as magic? If was, Superman would be screwed, but it’s not.
And I don’t think anything would be able to defeat Goku with all the dragonballs, as he’s literally invincible.
And pre-crisis is the same as silver-age (Superman).
But whereas Superman can push a planet, Goku can destroy millions of them with one attack (taking in to account that freeza in his weakest form could destroy a planet effortlessly, and Goku is currently millions of times more powerful then him).
And the sun is Superman’s power source, so flying through the sun isn’t that impressive, as it really does is give Superman more power.
The only way superman would have a chance of beating Goku is if they fight on a planet near one of the Red Super Giants. Then superman will be stronger, faster, and better.
Goku would beat superman hands down. Goku has supersaian1-9 and is a bad #ss! all superman has is super strenth and can shoot lazer beams out of his eyes, Goku can shoot chi beams in many shapes and forms, + if we get fussion invalved that justs adds to Goku’s power.
This is silly, goku can destroy the entire world, he could easily rip superman to shreds or just blow him up. Also, superman is fast but goku’s movement is INSTANT so he can keep up no trouble.
Technically a Red Super Giant would leave Superman powerless, as he gets his energy from yellow suns (krypton had a red sun, which is why they didn’t have super powers there).
But even if they fought near a Yellow Super Giant (or maybe a HYPERGIANT!, just look at how big a HYPERGIANT is compared to Earth’s sun -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypergiant [earth's sun is the tiny yellow dot]).
But all that aside, Goku could just blow the sun up, leaving Superman without a power source.

OK im a huge fan of both DC AND DBZ, and i can break down the tale of the tape for these heroes, first i’ll start with Goku… Goku is a Saiyan as everybody knows, Goku’s power level increases everytime he defeats an opponent, basically the more he fights over the period of time the stronger he becomes, this counts for all saiyans. Goku is extremely fast and has Instint Transmission which can take him where ever he wants to go, but it only depends on someone’s Ki or he’s focused long enough on the destination. Goku has Super Saiyan tranformations which dramatically increase his powers and abilities. Goku use’s chi or ki blasts which can be really powerful, powerful enough to destroy planets. Goku’s Fighting Skill is excellent he knows Martial Arts. Goku’s most powerful attack is the spirit bomb, this huge bomb consists of every one’s life force and energy throughout the entire galaxy, the spirit bomb can even use energy from the sun, for a more potent attack, unfortunatley the spirit bomb is an attack that was created to destroy evil. Now Superman, as you all know he is a kryptonian, now if you’ve seen the first superman movie you will notice that jor-el states that the kryptonians are a highly intellegent race and that the vanity of some considered them to be indestructible. Now on to supermans powers and abilities. Vast Superhuman Strength, superman’s strength is one of his most tradmark attributes, he is so strong that he has been able to perform feats such as move the moon, shatter enormouse comets and asteroids big enough to destroy earth, Move planets out of orbit, and batman has even stated that superman is so strong that he can split the earth in half with a single powerful blow. Invulnerability, superman’s invulnerability is an invisible aura that covers his entire body, this aura is invulnerable to anything except kryptonite and magic, those are the only things that can bypass this aura. Superman posseses unmatched stamina, able to fight for long periods of time without fatigue. Super Speed and Flight, now alot of people think that Goku is faster because of his teleport and Instint Transmission, but that is not the case, in fact Superman has surpassed the speed of light on more than one account. able to reverse time as seen in the first superman movie. Super hearing and sences, now superman’s hearing is so powerful that he can detect the footfall from an ant miles and miles away. he can hear the vibrations in the air and he can even hear all of the people on earth simultaniously. Superman can see through anything except led. superman has both microscopic and telescopic vision, which enables him to see either extremely far or extremely close to things that the normal naked eye would miss. Heat Vision, supermans heat rays are more powerful than people think, his heat vision is hotter then the core of the sun, and can melt the molecules in an atom or even matter itself, not even freiza’s eye beams can do that. Torqausm-Vo, this is an ancient kryptonian warrior disipline which superman uses to fight powerful psychic enemies such as dominus, in a purely mental realm. Super telekinesis, this ability allows superman to telekinetically control objects and levitate other beings, this was first seen in superman 4 the quest for peace. Hurricane Breath, superman’s hurricane breath is so powerful he can blow away cities if he wanted. Ice Breath, superman’s icebreath can freeze lethal opponents into submission with ease. Unlike Goku, Superman does not need to train or fight to become more powerful, superman is naturally powerful, superman’s power source is the yellow sun, which is an ongoing thermo-nuclear reation that is so powerful if exploded or destroyed would wipe out most of the galaxy. The more superman absorbs solar energy the more powerful he becomes. I have a book called the cosmos and in it there has been yellow sun’s in other galaxies that are far more larger and more powerful then our own sun. With this in mind, my thoery is that if superman traveled to a galaxy with a much larger and more powerful yellow sun, his powers and abilities would be magnified far beyond what he was in our galaxy. In all of my time watching DBZ and GT i have noticed that a lot of characters would and have died in the sun. Intersesting Isn’t It Folks?. here’s a list of some DBZ characters that have died in the sun… The legendary Super saiyan Brolly, The parasite mutant machine Baby, these are the only two i can remember for now, i’ll watch some of my dbz tapes and clips and i’ll give more detail’s later. Ok Goku or vegeta or any strong saiyan has not even made an attempt to even go inside the sun much less hang around one. So i conclude this debate by saying that this fight would be a good one for th record books, but in a long term battle between Superman and Goku, I have to go with Superman! my science just prooves it. oh yea and if goku did try to use Spirit Bomb, it would,nt work for two reasons, 1. Superman is not evil, and 2. Goku has been known to use solar energy from the sun to power up the spirit bomb, this would just make superman extremely more powerful. and as far as chi and ki blasts even the big ones that can destroy planets it won’t have an effect on superman, because neither chi or ki have kryptonite or magic properties in them. for all of you who read and look up words, look up INVULNERABILITY and study it then you’ll see what i mean.

Goku SS3 is about even with Superman. Going beyond that to GT gives Goku a win. And if Goku used Fusion with Vegeta, than Superman would get vaporized (literally. That’s one of Gogeta’s attacks).

What? Who said Goku couldn’t move faster than the speed of light? I draw your attention to the first DBZ Saga, where Raditz dodges Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon attack, to quote Piccolo: “What!? He’s faster than the speed of light!” and from there they have just been getting faster and faster… RADITZ was faster than Superman… Raditz… ’nuff said about the speed? Anyway, as for how Goku would kill Superman, I’m not sure, but Goku is resourseful, he’ll find a way, if not, Superman wouldn’t land a finger on him, and as for his special abilites, Goku would only have to endure them once, as no move will work twice on him.

I, on the other hand, disagree with T420.
The first mistake he’s made, is saying that Superman is completely invulnerable to everything except kryptonite and magic, this is simply not true, he has been knocked back by strong opponents and energy blasts many times, and has even been beaten in to a bloody pulp by doomsday.
Goku IS faster because of his instant transmission, as moving instantaneously is infinitely faster than moving at any speed (even the speed of light).
Even instant transmission aside, Goku is able to travel many times the speed of light, whereas the speed of light seems to be the limit for superman.

I don’t know where to begin telling you what’s wrong with that, for a start, molecules aren’t in atoms, molecules are made up of atoms.
As for his heat vision, it may be strong for him, but it’s not unstoppable, and it drains him a lot.
For instance, his most powerful blast didn’t damage Doomsday much (if at all) and he was only able take one shot at that power level, because it drained him so much.
Superman is powered by the sun, but there’s a limit to how much he can absorb and store. Fighting near a hypergiant yellow sun would be as much use to him as just flying in to our sun for extra energy for a big battle (which I don’t realy need to point out, that he never does [because it would be useless]).
And someone who’s already weak from fighting, dieing in the sun, isn’t really comparable to someone who actually gets their energy from the sun.
As for Goku’s power, if freeza in his weakest form can blow up a planet with one finger, and can be beaten at full power by super saiyan Goku which is a fraction of the power of the higher super saiyan forms, then Goku in his most powerful form could probably destroy the galaxy in one blast, or maybe even the universe.
So no, I don’t think superman stands a chance.
superman stands a huge chance seeing as how hes pretty much a demi-god and is virtually invulnerable. goku would have to go ss4 and go doomsday on his ass and just beat him into a fine paste.
Also Mecha Bob hit it dead on. the spirit bomb is not gokus strongest attack. his strongest would be the 100x kamehameha, he uses this when hes in ss4 form. he cannot use spirit bomb in any ss form because you have to be pure of heart in order to use that technique. goku is much stronger and fast even one of gokus flash steps would throw superman into a daze. so yeah i revise my previous statement. superman doesnt stand a chance…at all. goku would just punch superman untill he couldnt move then 100x kamehameha him into another dimension.

Superman is no longer affected by kryptonite. Guess you haven’t read a comic recently, fellas. Plus, he’s become about 3 times stronger since flying inside the sun in All-Star Superman, so he could pretty much destroy a planet by focusing his heat vision on it for five seconds.

yeah and if goku had absorbing powers he could absorb a universe of hypergiants and could tear both of your balls off and kill off superman with his 100x kamehameha and you obviously know everyone has a weakness and doomsday did not require kryptonite to kill superman now goku can destroy dooms day in 1 millisecond and he can destroy a universe in one hit so yeah he can beat him with his attacks so he would be able to kill superman in half of a millisecond with 100x kamehameha and he could use dragonballs to wish him out of existence or if he wasnt SSJ4(note that once in the majin buu saga that goku did a super spirit bomb in his SSJ1 form)he would fire a super spirit bomb in SSJ1 form or normal form so yeah the fight would last half of half a millisecond heres what fight would be like

ok, after reading about 15 of these i’ve decided that all of you that think that goku or any of the DB squad can defeat superman are complete morons or you just know nothing about superman. 1st…superman is INVULNERABLE to EVERYTHING except magic and kryptonite. niether of which goku has. none of gokus attacks can even scratch superman much-less defeat him. super man can move faster than the speed of light. he can literally move through time. superman has strength much, much, i repeat MUCH greater than that of goku. for gods sake, the man can move planets with his arms, detroy asteroids with one fist, and stop speeding locomotives with ease. Oh and to end my little spat about why you guys are stupid or clueless or whatever it is you are, gokus “ace in the hole” the spirit bomb wont work on superman. its not magic, kryptonite, and oh yeah supermans not evil. Hard to decide, afterall superman’s feats are contradicted by some stupid weaknesses. ie: kyrptionite bullets (and was actually shot down by one) which takes away some credit of him being ‘fast’ then was offically killed off by doomsday. Not to be pickey but doomsday can’t juggle planets and from one issue i read superman unoffically has a limit. 1 million megatons of force whish he says (before dragged away by doomsday) was his very limit. Then of course he has been knocked around in JLA/JLE issues by foes who aren’t even sound barrier breakers and was mind control. Oe thing to consider is that juggling planets is impressive (even if it is absurd) more so compared to pre SSJ Vegeta who can casually vapourize one with his fingertips. And of goku beating cooler, cooler who casually threatned to destroy the star at one point. So despite superman/boy prime amazing feats, they can be countered by the even more absurdly firepower of DBZ.
A question that should be asked is, what is superman’s offical abilities because this character has recived endless re-designs. The orignal superman (1930’s) couldn’t even fly. Without doubt superman heat’s vision and strengh should be his main attributes as he stated them off, but how strong is he, espacilly in his latest version? With the currant trend in how superman is to fit more into the ‘real world’ of events (ie: 9/11 happened in the DC world as well) limits superman and as said before, makes his super powers look poor given the currant disasters that should not have happened as he was overpowered for a reason in the first place. To show he can deal with those incidents in the first place, making superman in a more real related world has undermined him.
Judging it as a whole, I would say goku beats most of the various superman versions and possibly superboy prime also, espacilly as their weakining superman, goku dosen’t relate to a ‘real related’ world so has no reason to be toned down to relate to some event.
What i say is that certinely goku has superior flight/combat manouverability over superman. Superman would certinely be far more physically stronger but after all that incerinating and earth shattering attacks goku has recived it seems doubtful goku would die in a single blow.
I’m not even sure that Superman IS stronger than Goku physically, although I suppose he had difficulty moving his arms and legs with what was it, 10 tonnes on each limb? But then of course he turned super saiyan and moved near light-speed, showing the considerable strength scaling from normal to super saiyan, plus he has another three forms after that which I’m guessing scale just as well, if not better.

First of all because Goku and Superman are both good so they would just team up. Goku would probably teach Superman all that he needs to know about martial arts, using the full extent of his speed during fighting, manipulating ki energy, hiding/lowering/kaokin attack/ and powering up his ki energy, charging up his heat vision in a way that he never knew for energy defense and offense and about finding/releasing the spirit energy inside of him that he could use for fighting or giving it to other super-heroes to increase their power-levels or heal them. Superman would just teach Goku how to have complete control over a black hole, blow a galaxy into place, juggle planets with ease, and to shoot energy out of his eyes. Essentially Goku, Superman, Spider-Man, and Batman are actually the same person when you think about it. You could say that people look at the different sides of the hero that they think he should be and when that happens, everyone’s opinion separates into those individual super-heroes, which is why they are the most popular and controversial Super-Heroes in this present world: this makes them all equal which is why I explained this. Plus, if Goku, Clark Kent, Peter Parker, and Bruce Wayne actually existed with no super-powers Goku would be the true Superman out of all of them because: He’s truly void of evil, Child-like nature (innocence, mind, and faith: that Bruce, Pete, and Clark weren’t created by the comic writers to have), a “natural” talent at fighting with learned martial arts, unlike the trained unnatural Bruce Wayne (he became Batman only because of watching his parents die, so before that he had no will or desire to fight) and the fact that “Jesus Christ said that unless you become as a children you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven” and “a doubting person is like the waves of the sea”. King Kai from DBZ said that Goku is like a small boy who has no limits because of his child-like innocense. So, Goku would shun all doubt. If you pitt any super-hero against a true warrior child-like adult, they would lose because they wouldn’t have the nature that Goku has. He would have true “freedom” that Bruce, Pete, Clark and every other hero don’t have. Bruce Wayne would just be like his dad: having money, using it wisely, and helping people in need. So would Clark. But that’s all that they would have.
To add to all of this: For Goku to have the true nature of a child, he truly never gives up and has a “super” positive mind that Clark, Pete, and Bruce would somewhat have a hard time to really grasp. In other words, it would be very hard for Goku to doubt, but it would be very easy for any human and super-hero to do. Superman, Spider-Man, and Batman are great inspirations and models to look up to, but Goku would top all of them because of what he has that no other has.
Goku the first Super-Hero to be like a child and have that kind of personality is what makes him very Special. He may be uneducated, but has a warriors heart, true love and compassion for people and a magnificent super-saiyan power with a healing/increasing adaptable power to ensure peace, truth, and justice. I think that He deserves to be the Most Powerful Super-Hero in any comicbook universe above all super-villains including Doomsday. For Doomsday to be more powerful than “Super”man shows the fact that many people including the writers who created him care more about competitiveness than what’s good and right which is pretty sad. If they cared about what’s right they would make Superman be more powerful than Doomsday. He is “Super”man isn’t he, so they should just make him definitely indestructible and invulnerable.
Goku and Superman should just get the magical earrings on the planet of the Kais in DBZ and fuse into the Ultimate Superman this would end the feud between who would win.

Every version of Superman in all the comics, movies, and cartoons combined would have a power-level of higher than a trillion in the Dragonball Universe- more like multi-trillion, plus with Super Saiyan 4 Goku with a power-level up in the billions combined with all of that would make a True Hero that has probably never been created before. That Ultimate Superman would be more powerful than Neo in the Matrix Universe capable of outstanding feats with martial arts including never-before created fighting techniques that human beings don’t know about at speeds faster than light-speed, true control over telekinesis and telepathy and manipulation of energy as well as pyrokinesis. And think about this: Instead of this Ultimate Superman using up energy like a normal Super Saiyan and Superman using up his solar-powered cell energy to become drained, he would adapt to have an enhanced healing factor like Wolverine and because he would have cells that absorb solar energy: once he healed, due to his saiyan nature of becoming more powerful than a force that beat him before: He would grow more powerful and adapt to an opponent’s attacks much more quickly to where he really cannot be beaten by any force except fore God himself.

Super Saiyan Ultimate Superman (Kakkarot or Goku and Clark Kent or Kal-El combined) would probably be called: Kalkkarot, Kal-Elarot, GoKal, Gokal-Elku, Goku Kent, Clarkku, or Goclarku. That would be crazy! But those names sound pretty funny though!
He probably wouldn’t need to heal at all because his power-level would be sooooo HIGH that he would win any fight against any Super-Villain in less than a second honestly.

Also for other readers on this forum, when you think about it: if there was a perfect person that used one-hundred percent of their brain who was a writer, that person would possibly have created Goku, Superman, Spider-Man, and Batman to be originally one single extremely powerful, intelligent Super-Hero in the first place who had the minds, powers, abilities, and full potential of all of them combined. But that perfect writer would have to be someone who has the personality and individual likes and dislikes of every person on Earth.
Personally, when it comes to if there was no evil and no one had to be protected or saved, I would want to have Spider-Man’s abilities, because he has a perfect well-balanced power-level between Superman and Batman. I wouldn’t be able to do everything so easily and quickly as Superman and Goku and I would be stronger, more agile/acrobatic, and faster than Batman. The black and white Spidey costume is the coolest costume I have ever seen. I would definitely want to wear that!
I love the classic Red and Blue costume with that original design: the boots, belt connected to the vest with the half arm sections that end at the gloves with red and webs. And the exagerated Spider on the back is awesome! Red and blue are perfect primary colors that go together well.
Now to really get back to what this forum is about! I think a totally awesome fight would be Goku when he first landed on Namek against the Superman that fought Doomsday. Superman would be more powerful and stronger, possibly faster than Goku, but Goku would have the martial arts at super-speed with energy manipulated blasts and flight. Goku would have the kaokin attack, kamehameha, and spirit-bomb. He wouldn’t have the instant transmission (teleportation) and wouldn’t be able to transform into a Super Saiyan. Both opponents would have limited power-levels to where they wouldn’t become more powerful. So I wonder who would win!… Does anyone have any comments?
Well honestly I think that Superman doesn’t stand much of a chance here at all, I mean Goku can easily destroy planets with just regulars blasts, let alone his Kamehehameha! Superman gets owned as soon as Goku does a warp Kamehehameha.
