Another great reader request that matches up the Chief against Dante of Devil May Cry. Considered to be one of the coolest characters ever, Dante brings a following that will certainly make for a great battle.

Master Chief beats this guy while watching TV on his couch.
I’m not so sure on that. Dante can counter any bullet shot at him with a shot from his pistol (Yes, he is that good. Try facing him in Devil May Cry 4 and you will see.), And he has his sword, which almost beats a plasma sword (Dante can infuse his demonic power into the sword, but I’m not sure if Soul Power =, is >, or < than plasma.) To me, this would be a really cool match up to see, for they are almost complete opposites. Dante spews insults at his opponent while completely obliterating them, while chief stays silent while completely obliterating enemies. Grenades would be pretty useless, as Dante’s Devil State is much like a tank armor by comparison, and that’s only IF Chief could actually hit him with one. Like I said, it would be a interesting fight.

The “shooting masterchief’s bullets out of the air” would only work if his firing rate is the same as(or more than) masterchief’s gun, and would be a useless tactic against the big guns (laser/fuel rod).
And the devil state (I assume you mean trigger) doesn’t last that long.
As for the swords, a plasma sword can kill a fully armoured and shielded Spartan in one hit, what’s the biggest thing dante’s sword has taken down in one hit?
master chief is the best shooter on xbox 360 his weapons are mint his armor is strong and he can beat dante easy because he his good with guns and shotguns

I suppose it would be a very close fight, for I think dante can dodge most of what MC throws at him. Then again, MC is tougher than Dante, seeing as how he is in his armor. But Dante wouldn’t be afraid to try a new weapon or five, so I think it would come down to luck, which both have copious amounts of.

Now as for the fight, this one goes to Dante, HANDS DOWN.
Masterchief fights little jibberish speaking aliens with some decent technology and weird zombie looking people who are nothing but flesh and firepower.
AS FOR DANTE, well, don’t get me started. HE KILLS DEMONS, which are way more badass and difficult to kill than anything within the realm MC faces. Second, while MC is a genetically enhanced, therefor better than a human, Dante is half mortal, half demon, seeing as his father was the legendary demon Sparda who rebelled against his world and was one tight dude. As for his sword, uh, IT HAS DEMON POWERS. plasma is not half of what everybody has it cracked up to be, and is certainly no match for the supernatural, seeing as how supernatural things dont play by earthly rules (TAKE THAT MC!!)) His guns, ebony and ivory, are wayyyyyy more sweet than some run of the mill assault rifle, no matter how futuristic.
Oh, and he’s a flat our metal head, who actively shreds guitar when not slaying thousands of demons, so before you start whining that MC kills whole hordes of baddies, remember: DANTE FOUGHT HELL!!!!
Again, Dante wins this batte, and most any for that matter, HANDS DOWN!!!!

Do dante’s enemies have high tech armour, and energy shielding, or are they just flesh and/or ectoplasm?
So how can they more badass than what Masterchief faces?
And the Flood have taken down a highly advanced civilisation across the galaxy, and made them extinct, demons can’t even take over one lousy planet, which has for the most part, had bugger all technology.
And all that ‘being harder to kill’ means, is that dante is weaker.
well, I have played all the devil may cry games, and I think i have reached a answer about you comment, mecha bob,
True, demons can’t take over one planet, but their taint has reached countless planets (If you want a full explaination of what I am talking about, read anything about the chaos space marines in the warhammer 40k universe. {wow, I am such a nerd}) Kinda like the Flood. No, pure demons are not technologically superior, but they are physically superior to aliens. A regular, run of the mill demon has the strength and stamina of a brute in H3. Now, you have to face those en mass. Then you have your augmented demons, who i think could faily be compared to Hunters, with about the same abilities. Then you have to put bosses up also, which are super demons, which you don’t really have to face in Halo, at all. I mean, maybe Tartrurus (sorry if I misspelled that, my bad) in H2, but that is about as close as you get to a boss. Plus Dante would be about that strength, probably stronger since you beat them. So in the end, i think Dante wins this one.
Dante would win for a few simple reasons
First- In devil may cry 3 he was shot in the head and carried on talking. Hardly even flinched. So guns are not going to do all that much.
Second- when faced with a rocket he merely surfed on it. That’s right surfed, he jumped on it and using his body directed the rocket back at the launcher. Devil may cry three again. Therefore rockets will do not much
Third- been stabbed in about every installment by swords and has merely pulled it out of his and continued chatting therefore that plasma sword wont do much
So this effectively means that none of his weapons will work against Dante now more reasons why Dante would own him good and proper
Speed- Dante has been seen to run so fast air superheats around him. Has shot bullets out of the air, traded about twenty odd sword blows faster than rain could hit the ground.
Strength- time and time again he has physically over powered demons that are…well if you’ve played the games you will understand the size of them and the strength that would be needed to man handle them
Finally and personally my favorite Dante at one point gains an ability that actively allows him to slow time around him so it becomes a stand still so he can approach master chief with a grin on his face and hack him to pieces with his huge sword or better yet unleash with his guns until he breaks the chief from afar, which is possible as in the games the chiefs armour can be worn down by small arms fire. Oh and before one complains that it would take to long and Dante would not have enough ammo he in face has infinite ammo in the games so I guess that would translate over to this.
In conclusion Master Chief would be annihilated
Dante can take shots to the head and even get impaled by a sword and not get hurt, he can also dodge missiles and deflect bullets back with his sword. Also Dante has devil trigger, and if tahts not enough he has the Sparda sword. And in Sparda devil mode Dante defeats Mundus, masterchief wouldnt have a chance in hell against mundus. Biological engineering is no match for supernatural demon powers.
Also the Sparda sword would rape an energy sword anyday, and th e armour argument is useless because dante doesnt even get hurt by bullets and masterchief does despite his armour….
Okay I like halo and I play on xbox live so I don’t hate Mc. But there are many characters that would tear him up something fierce. I mean sure Mc has killed thousands of enemies but most of them are about as dumb as monkeys on heroin and most are dumber, and he never killed a real boss character, if fanboys remember right the arbiter killed the only boss in halo, the brute leader in halo 2. there are characters talked about that would lose to him(link, mario, tom brady, sam fisher). Mc would win more of these fights if he wasn’t the stereotypical lone gunman slaughtering hundreds of retarded fodder. And about the books that fanboys love to cry about when they don’t get theuir way, when we talk about mc versus a NOVEL character than bring up the books, until then lets talk about game MC. On to this argument Dante is the man, faster, a better shot, a swiord that would cut mc up something up fierce, he ability to take a bullet to the head, has gone to whole other planes(a plane is a level of existence) to kill bosses like the despair embodied, and being able to shoot from any position without even having to look and still be able to put a hole in the u of a budweiser can from a mile away. clearly he is the man. Sorry guys dante has this one buy a long shot.

ok vicarious one this is not a game war. this is MASTER CHIEF vs dente not master chief from the game vs dente. if you want to play by the games lets play by the games. master chief shoots dente with the spartan lazer and the game screen say YOU ARE DEAD. but we’re not talking about the games we are talking about the characters so in the fight against the two characters master chief has ways to win but dente would be the one to most likely win but then again i never saw dente take out two scarabs by himself. oh and don’t say he had help because the mariens didn’t do sh!t.
hitman8, spartan lasees are hella easy to dodge on halo so why couldn’t dante do it. and the reason dante has never killed a scarab (which judging from what I played in campaign aren’t sh!t to bring down so dante wouldn’t have the least bit of trouble) is because they aren’t his targets, he is a demon hunter, and Mc has been referred to as demon if I recall so dante would take him on.

Master chief would be killed in about 0.4 of a second, Dante wouldnt even have to move to kill him
Im a huge master chief fan, I play halo3 ALL day long.
But Dante wins without legs for a number of reasons
1. Dante’s invincible (see DMC cutscenes- DmC3 Lady shoot him in the head and he doesnt even notice
DMC4- nero impales him with his own sword, he gets up admitting he wasnt trying then disseapeers
3. Mecha bob, dante has killed huge demons and bosses with his sword, mainly because in the game his guns do like a tenth of the damage his sword does (for gameplay reasons)
4. Devil trigger state/super-dante as super dante his devil trigger never runs out and then he would be like 9 times stronger
5.Dante eats plasma grenades
6. He can use guns and weapons better than chief, He masters every single devil arm the moment he touches it
7. He’s stronger, faster, smarter than Master chief
8. Dante’s only ‘disadvantage’ is his arrogance which doesnt really make a difference
9. dante’s rate of fire could match anything Mc has except maybe the AR and SMG anytthing else he could block with his sword or just run away from.
Im gonna say again that Im a massive halo fan and Ive played DMC 2,3 and 4.. I know all there is about both of them but if Dante was fighting the covenant (with the elites and the flood on their side) The game would be over in 3minutes.
i must concur, no matter how hard it is to admit, my favorite xbox 360 character will put up a huge fight, but will get beaten.

well, actually, im not sure there is even a winner here. Dante wont be able to counter a machine gun with his pistol, let alone plasma weapons. plasma might burn through Dante and destroy him. yet chief would be killed by Dantes sword.
MC is really cool, but the fight would still probably go this way:
MC-Attemps to shoot Dante, Dante-Counter with Ebony&Ivory or Pandora
MC-Gets out plasma sword and attemps to strike, Dante-Takes out Sparda sword and cuts the plasma blade through the middle (possibly with MC’s hand included)
MC-Takes out whatever5 he has left and shoots Dante in the head
Dante-”Aw man, you got blood on my hair”, does a stinger and impales MC on his sword.
Dante’s regenerative powers are ridiculous, and using his demonic energy to heat up Rebellion, he could parry and slice his way through any defense MC might have.
He can stop time. MC can’t really beat that.
Can create a doppelganger.
At one point in an unmentionable game Dante has a pair of SMGs. Though with Gunslinger style in DMC4 he can fire Ebony and Ivory at a ridiculously fast rate.
Dante has weapons to match any weapon that MC has ever used.
Dante could CATCH A TANK SHELL. He also surfs on rocket/missiles. If he doesn’t just dodge.
Like his brother, he can teleport.
His speed is just ridiculous. MC might be able to keep up, but he WILL get tired before Dante….at which point he’ll use stimulants, but then Dante could just stop time.
Dante can take more hits than MC.
He might not seem like it, but Dante’s martial arts skills are ridiculous (he’s a master of Aikido or some other defensive martial art style.)
Dante could take down any enemy in Halo. If a Flood form infected him, the cells would get BURNED out of his system.
Tartarus would be a warm-up for him.
And all this IS WITHOUT HIS DEVIL TRIGGER!

Dante wins, I play the Halo series far more than DMC, but the chief moves like a retarded hopping on a single leg, Dante flows like water and jumps pretty damn high to boot, and you can be damn sure the triple drive combo Dante has would everpower even the spreadless BR from Halo 2.
Unless the Chief is using a custom powerup that gives him invulnerability for 2 minutes with 200% speed (lol?) hes just another lame shooter character with no personality, thus leading players to think that he’s more “badass”

Any soldier knows that it’s skill and determination that wins the day and Luck will only work when its really needed. So if I were to rate the fight Master Chief has a 15% chance of winning, he just hasn’t faced someone who’s just uber-powerful than Dante.

Seriously. Dante doesnt even need Rebellion. He can beat MC with the power of Rock and Roll. He has a scythe guitar. A SCYTHE AND A GUITAR IN ONE!! Not to mention is sounds amazing and shoots purple lightining bats and can cut through anything.
Master Cheif has about as much a chance as a snowflake in hell. Which Dante has visited on occasions and owns a condo in. (ive seen it and it is FABULOUS)
