Another reader request, this pits the Chief against Spawn, a personal favorite of yours truly. While I’d like to think that Master Chief has a chance, I’m not sure even with all his powers he could win the day.

So, who emerges from this fight?

Well I have always been a big spawn fan and halo fan. But I think in this one Spawn wins hands down just because he’s already dead. And unless master chief can go get a weapon of heaven then it would be a long fight but in the end spawn wins.

is he some kind of deamon 
If masterchief completely incinerates Spawns entire body, he’ll have nothing to regenerate from.
And Spawn has only really been shown being attacked by existing weapons (most of Masterchief’s UNSC weapons), so it’s uncertain if Covenant weapons could kill him (although, being from space [aka, the heavens] they should work).
Spawn has better healing and agility than Masterchief, but Masterchief’s weapons are more powerful, and have a better range (all Spawn has are crappy little green fireballs), although it would take one of the big weapons (e.g. fuel rod cannon), but it could be done.
Wow. You think that if it comes from space, It is anointed by god? That is what a Weapon of Heaven is. And even if chief tried to burn him, Spawn could wrap himself in his cloak (which he can make flame-retardant). anything else would explode, and Spawn would regenerate. Don’t forget about those cool chains. Oh, and another thing to counter the flame theory, he comes directly from Hell itself. You think some wimpy flame from anywhere else could compare to the flames of hell? I think not.
Oh, and any weapon chief can get, spawn can do better. Remember, that weapons are tools of destruction, which is a idea of what? Oh yeah, Hell. Since Spawn comes from there, he can summon any weapon into his arsenal, and it will be enhanced by his latent demonic powers. Also, those green fireballs, They can be compared to a spartan laser shot, just faster and with a little less range.

It says weapon of heaven, it says nothing about god, or holyness or anything.
And “Practically immortal” isn’t the same as literally immortal.
And who said anything about burning him? I’m talking about blowing him the sh!t up.
And weapons aren’t an idea of Hell, they’re an idea of people(or the covenant).
And if Spawn really can get such great weapons, why does he stick to using chains, spikes and an axe?
And have spawn’s crappy green fireballs ever blow a tank up in one shot? Have they ever blown anything up?

Ok, you want to play semantics here? Fine.
a Weapon of Heaven is a weapon that comes from god, or some other higher power.
A Weapon OF the HEAVENS could be a weapon from space, maybe.
If we are playing in a world where Spawn exists, then both heaven and Hell exist, for one cannot come without the other. Spawn is a creature of Hell, though he laments that and tries to struggle with his evil and good to go to heaven. I don’t WANT to go into too much detail, but if you really want it, I can give a complete history.
Anyway, on that note, if Hell exists, then evil exists. If evil exists, then evil intentions exists in the hearts of men/covenant, which create weapons. Ergo, Weapons are a idea of hell made manifest onto the universe. As stated before, Spawn can have anything in Hell’s arsenal. So, yes, Spawn can get any Covenant/Human weapons.
Though I couldn’t find any pics of Spawn blowing up a tank, in the comics he takes down a giant cyborg with his ecto-blast, and the cyborg has tougher than tank armor. (the cyborg’s armor is full titanium.) Spawn sticks to using his weapons of choice (Chains, spikes, ax(which he rarely uses by the way)) because they are natural to him. It would be like asking why master Chief still uses his hands when he has a awesome arsenal of weapons.
Oh yeah, right, you can really blow something that can absorb any blast up. Seriously, learn the facts on your opponent before you start bashing him.

If weapons were all created by hell, then why does heaven have weapons? Your logic is flawed.
And if all weapons were from hell, why bother saying Spawn can use any weapon from Hell, why not just say he can use any weapon? Why bother specifically stating Hell?
And Spawn (before he died) was in the army, guns would be more natural to him than spikes and chains.
And masterchief uses his weapons more often than his hand, and uses his hands when it’s practical (to save ammo, or be stealthy). There is nothing practical about Spawn using weak weapons if he had access to much powerful weapons, so the most obvious conclusion is that he doesn’t have access to powerful weapons.
And a Cyborg’s armour wouldn’t be as thick as that on a tank (unless the Cyborg was like 50ft tall).
And where is it said that spawn can absorb any explosion?
Ok, Mecha bob, thank you for presenting a argument. It is a relief that I don’t have to deal with mad ravings of a fanboy.
But back on subject.
True, there are weapons in heaven, but it is usually honorable combat weapons (such as a sword, or another close combat weapon.) Even then, there are so few that exist, and usually only one person can wield it, (such as a archangel or something of equal “rank” in heaven) You see, most angelic presence is like anathema to demons in the angel’s home, just like a demon’s touch is the same for a angel when they are in the demon’s home. The only difference really between Angels and Demons in the spawn universe anyway, is that demons fight each other, vying for power. Ok, if you want to get technical on that description i just gave, I guess a sword, a classic sword, no plasma, is about the only weapon that Spawn couldn’t use.
Next, for the weapon issue. I’m sorry, but i contradicted myself. I said that Spawn could use anything in Hell’s arsenal, then said that he could get any Covenant/Human weapon. I want the latter to hold true, except of course the whole he can’t summon a classic sword issue that I just explained.
True on the cyborg detail, he’s only 13 feet tall, my bad. Still, titanium is titanium. And not all the Tank’s armor is that thick, such as the roof, or something like that.
True, Spawn can use any gun, and does so on a regular basis, but it still stands that the chains and spikes are more natural to him now, since he is demonic now. I’m not saying that they are more or less natural than guns that he can get, if anything both are about equal on the comfort level.

*sighs* fanboy ravings. They are such a pain. Ok, Mr. Predator Kills MC Easy, give me some hard facts on why MC would kill Spawn. If you knew what you were talking about, then you are effectively saying that MC is either Jesus or God, which he is not. If he were, then the books would state so, or the game would state so. Since neither of them state what you are saying as fact, I can only conclude that you are trying to browbeat people with words in all caps, which doesn’t work by the way, it just gets people angry at you. While the mythos around Mr. Norris has become stuff of legend, the fact still stands that he is just a man. He can still be killed by a bullet.
So, with all the shouting aside, is there any way that MC would kill Spawn practically? Besides divine intervention, which we are not counting here because it is a pure test of skill, I think not.

Brute hammers and energy swords are used ritualistically and are “sacred.” Could they be considered divine weapons? If not then MC needs some holy water holow points or he is screwed.

Actually, pending on which arc of spawn we are talking about, it can go either way. It also depends on which universe.
If it were master chiefs universe, and spawn-first 1-10, I would have to give it to master chief. Simply because Master chief is far more experienced, and spawn would(most likely) use up his necroplasm trying to survive then get ported back to hell to be melabolgias slave,(in which case I would assume the teleportation since triggered, and not purposefully done to retreat), would mean master chief won.
But were it issue 140-170(he was in a god like state for part of the armeggedon arc), Master chief would be destroyed. At this point, spawn has access to all the powers of the throne(at least until cogliostro stole the kings thrones) of hell, as well as the power to create another universe. If he can create a new earth/universe(the abilitys he has at this point were never fully explained), imagine what else he could do.

Don’t just go look up weapons and imagine yourself as a hero. Make an intelligent choice. Quit focusing on boyhood dreams. I would hate to see another life wasted on a vain crusade. Peace is possible. Winning a war is not. I have had generations of my family in the military, so why did I choose not to join? Big Al is the poor, ignorant boy in this. When it comes down to effective weapons, a chain and an axe wont do much against an MA5B assualt rifle.
Personally, i think the only two people that have given a decent argument are Al and Mecha bob, unlike all you other people who say spawn would win because he is beast.

Spartan001, If you’ve seen the spawn cartoon(HBO), then you would’ve known that the chains block bullets instantaneously. The costume is a symbiote, thus it runs on it’s on and helps protect Al by any means neccesary. Specifically you would want to watch the chapel arc of the spawn cartoon. Also, within the comic(first fifteen, it’s been a while so I can’t narrow down a direct issue, maybe 8,or 9, specifically) but spawn can port to any area to retrieve weapons.
Bobby, did you really expect the Halo Fanboys to have *actually* done their research?
This whole series is just a goldmine of exploiting their legendary ineptitude when it comes to debate and exposition.
This is why I site examples. This series would be better if master chief wasn’t on a god like status. I try to only post on vs. that I actually have some sort of knowledge on.

look people, master chief kick @$$ so when he is faced with covent or flood or even humens he will kill. now when you put master chief is put aginast some one who can go as fast as him and is as strong as him and can summon enough power to make an entire universe, well, you can do the math.

no it doesnt but a weapon from heaven does count cause a gravity hammer hit could cause tiny millisecond sized damage while a hell version of a gravity hammer could destroy A LOT of living organisms and non living organisms(if it was a bomb with hell gravity hammer power)while chiefs spartan laser could be demonicly cloned to fire a fast as a MA5K assault rifle and he would pwn master chief and obviously his demonicly enhanced MA5K assault rifle would kill MC in 1 or 2 hits

Spawn is a Demon. MC Is human/cyborg. Its like robocop vs the devil. Its stupid to argue. I like MC more than Spawn but MC would lose. Hes only super human. Spawn has killed things way more powerful than MC his hell fires could burn MC alive through his bubble shield and everything. Nothing mortal could defeat anything biblical like that. Unless MC gets lucky and cuts his head off with an energy sword i guess. This is a halo site, so all these kids are going to naturally side with MC
