Star Wars Tie Fighter vs Halo Banshee

So, without getting into too many variations, this battle take place with an average pilot - so no Darth Vader piloting the Tie or Master Chief helming the Banshee. Instead, measure the mecha themselves independent of the pilot.

Tie Fighter

  • Solar panels power a twin ion engine (TIE)
  • Tremendous Speed
  • High Maneuverability
  • Dual Lasers

Banshee

  • Good for anti-vehicle and quick strikes
  • Speed Burst
  • High Maneuverability
  • Plasma Gun

So the question is, which vehicle has the best performance?

these aren’t mecha, they’re space ships.
And if banshees work in space like they do in atmosphere, then they’ll lose to the far greater manouverability of Ties.

oh yeah biotches first comment. the banshee is good but the tie is just faster, have better maneuvering and have more fire power. The tie gets this one

Althoght the banshee is slower then the tie, i think the bashees firepower would prevail. Its got twin plasma lasers and the missle pods

Tie wins, hands down. Tie fighters, while mostly used for deep space, are also rated highly for atmospheric combat, especialy the Tie Intercepter. the homing rockets would tear easily through the banshee’s shield, since they’re designed to tear through capital ship shields.

The TIE wins due to superb fire power. But, just as a side note: TIEs are built cheap so that the Empire can have mass quantities of them. The life support systems are weak and short lived and there is no hyperdrive installed (save Vader’s Advance TIE fighter and a few others… The “no hyperdrive” was to give the fighters more caution when fighting, knowing that they could not back out…it also cut back on expenses!

It’s like comparing a jet fighter to a crop duster!! The Banshee doesn’t have a chance!

the TIE fighter has a lot less armor than a Banshee but it makes it up for speed. but the banshee is fast and strong, sure a rocket, laser, turret on a warthog but u cant take out a banshee with a magnum, a TIE fighter can be destroyed in a couple laser shots, plus wouldnt plasma fire from the banshee melt the hull, thus suffocating the pilot?

They’re both too generic and flimsy as fighter craft go for anyone to notice who won…
