Start your engines. As the start of the swordfighter series, we wanted to match a classic gaming hero versus a newer character.
As with most battles, will the hero element win out? Or can awesome power trump the willpower of the common hero?

Link doesn’t stand a chance in just about any sitch here. While Legend of Zelda and all the other games in the series have introduced elements of great achievements for Link, Kratos is just too brutal and relentless - what do you think?

OK, I think because Link is not only a master swordsman, but a marksman as well this battle would go to him. Although in a sword to sword battle I would have to go with Kratos.
I see Link freezing Kratos with Ice arrows and then smashing him into little tiny bits with the hammer or the ball and chain. I think that Link’s arsenal and skill with said weapons makes him more than a match for K. I came up with the VS because I thought it would be a good fight, so I’d be happy to hear how the big K might pull it off.

A god, 11 foot cyclops, a fatass version of medusa, as many soldiers as you could throw at him. Kratos seriously owns all, I am not a fanboy of any character of any game but I mean come on now who could kill the man of men, Kratos.
Yes k did take on a god, but so does link. Ganondorf has the triforce of power (the power of the goddesses) therefor making him as powerful as a god. Add that to the countless enemies and bosses/mini bosses link fights in the zelda games… *yawn* next.
This is a tough one, Kratos is superbadcoolness, but so is Fierce Deity Link,Sacred Wolf Link,(possibly Toon Link). Ares is the war god, but have you ever looked at Greek legend? He is a pussy who runs off the battlefield the minute he gets a booboo. Ganondorf, who is pretty much a god, gets stabbed with a sword 500 *uckin times and comes back for more punishment. Kratos has slept with one too many women, while all Link can do is stare at Telma’s boobs. Link has magical armor, great fairy tears, ocarina of time that can make Kratos a geezer, Majora’s mask that can turn him into countless things. Kratos has a blade that can kill gods, which is pretty much the master sword, gods that can can’t get off their asses to dotheir own work’s “help”, wings, Spartan training, and a big chain blade that can’t cut through yams. It would be close, but Link would emerge as the winner, because if he doesn’t who will shove the master sword up Ganondorf’s butthole, certainly not Richard Simmons.

With the Triforce, Link could defeat anyone (even goku!)
And aside from that, the Master Sword is highly effective against evil, and Link has shed loads of health as well (and if by some bizarre twist of fate, Link lose all of his health, one of his bottled fairies will revive him).

As for arrows, Kratos has got ‘em too, or he can just deflect them. Not really a factor here.
Ok it comes down to who strikes first. As Kratos is a very tempermental dude who swings at anything and everything, I think he would take the frist swing. With taht, a titanic clash of blades and blood fill the area and in the end…..Kratos stands victorious. The sheer brutality and ferocity of his attacks would overwhelm Link. Though, as Kratos starts leaving, the camera pans out, and we see that kratos is much worse for wear. Link’s calculated blows and sheer qwick wittedness has brought the slayer of gods to the very brink of his life. A few step away from his most glorious victory, Kratos falls to his face, and bleeds to death.
Kratos wins the victory, but Link wins the coolness factor, because no one wants to slowly die, that sucks!
this is such a 1 sided fight kratos has killed 2 gods,medusa looking things ,minatours,ogres,cyclops,hydras blah blah blah it goes on 4 ages and not 2 mention about 900000000000 gazilion soldiors so i think kratos wins

KRATOS WITH OUT A DOUGHT WOULD DESTROY LINK
Triforce is too fickle to be relied on. Link seems to be, contrary to any fan’s belief for some reason, not a master swordsman, though he certainly is skilled. He’s also quick on his feat with equipment and and special abilities.
However, Kratos is also quick on his feet (being an avid puzzle solver himself) He also has MUCH more combat experience (Link seems to almost always start over in each game, so his skill doesn’t seem to ever improve too much).
The blades of Chaos’ range is one of the most dangerous things about Kratos, but even if Link did get in close, Kratos has ridiculous Area magics that surpass Din’s fire, not to mention that he’s not above grabbing Link and Pounding his face against a wall or floor repeatedly and very, very violently. He would not GIVE Link the time to use potions. Also, while Link might have faries, Kratos LIVES off of the heat of battle (orbs). Not to mention, the blade of Olympus seems able to at least knock the Master sword out of Link’s hands (if it does’t shatter it). Link is badass to be sure, but he’s more tuned to fighting multiple enemies than single opponents.
Kratos would win, but not to worry Link! I’m sure the goddesses will revive you at some point, after Kratos is long dead…seeing as how his gods don’t really like him too much…XD
A few comments…
Kratos cannot deflect ice arrows, they freeze on impact as anyone who has fired one knows.
Funny thing… link’s world alway seems to freeze when he is drinking potions or being healed by a fairy… so how is Kratos going to stop Link if he can’t move?
The master sword is unbreakable, so there will be no shattering.
Anyway, screw the master sword. If Kratos is hit with a ice arrow Link could smash him into a million pieces with his hammer, bombs, bomb arrows, the giants mask… the gadgets just own all. Link: superior magic, better ranged attack, cheating health and resurrection…
Kratos can get some grape jelly and lick thunder d**k’s butt.
If Spongebob is a strong as Kratos, Link can over power the whole God of war game.

I’ll admit I know very little about Kratos, having only played the game once (I sucked at it too ^^) But, I know that in close combat, Link is very nimble, he likes to do moves such as shield bashes that disorentate enemies, “helmsplitters” which aren’t very nice for the reciever, rolling around behind them and slicing their back to bits… and if Kratos is lying on the ground for even half a second, it’s over, as Link’ll just jump on him and stick his sword right through his chest.
Now, I’m not saying Link would deffinatly win, but he’d sure as hell have a damn good chance.

I can’t say how much it absolutely pained me to admit this last summer of 2007, but Kratos takes this with no effort seeing as he killed at least one god on his hitlist. Now I’m an extremely pro-Nintendo/anti-Sony (YES YOU HEARD ME RIGHT! I love Nintendo and hate sony with a bloody gut-driven vengeance), but Link stands no chance against Kratos if this is him at his top levels. Actually Link has honor yes, but there is a difference between honor and stupidity. While Link would win the sword duel, Link is bound to just the Master Sword. Honestly, if you had an extremely powerful bow, and a pretty powerful enemy rushing at you would you stand there and let him hit you because of your misconception of “honor”? No you’d shoot his brains out. Plus it wouldn’t be honor by having just sword to sword. It would be honor to show your power instead of stooping down to their weakness. Kratos would give it all he’s got so Link would do what he wants.

Link could deflect any energy or element based attack right back at the sender with the mirror shield. On Minish Cap, when a projectile of any kind hits the mirror shield, a powerful blast comes right back at em. Both characters have some sort of time control, so the time controlling powers would neutralize eachother. They both have legendary swords, so the wouldn’t be a fight based on the strength of your sword. Link can take more dmg than Kratos. (I listed the endurance things in Cloud Strife vs Link, so I don’t feel like it again, chech that if you want to see it. Btw I forgot to add the spell on the Adventure of Link that lowers the dmg inflicted to you by yet halfing it again). Link is invulnerable. Here’s a few of the many ways Link could win:
1. Through a regular swordfight, cuz just face it, Link could just use Mortal Draw and it’s over for Kratos
2. He could pepper Kratos with arrows. (including magic-based and silver arrows and bomb arrows).
3. Link could annihalate Kratos with magic
4. Link could go Fierce Deity on Kratos
5. They could arm wrestle (Had to add comedy somewhere)
6. They could team up and destroy anything in their path (That team would be unstoppable)
7. I shouldn’t have made the numbers cuz there are so many ways, so etc cuz I’m tired, I was woke up at 5:00 and have to stay up for an hour so im TIRED
