Master Chief vs Samus

Many requests for this one. I have to admit that I’ve played more Metroid than Halo since I am an old fart, so I am inclined to lean towards Samus. As with any Hero, they all have intangibles that help them overcome seemingly daunting tasks. With that being said, MC has accomplished more in his “career” than Samus has, but this is a head-to-head battle of weaponry and skill…So, I think it’s be very close, the one thing that MC always comes away with - Luck - gets him the win…
Master Chief:
- Various weapon skills
- Cool Armor
- Decent Vehicles
- Lone Wolf Mentality
- Has shields to re-generate
Samus:
- Cybernetic Power Suit
- Space Jump Boots
- Screw Attack
- Form fitting Zero Suit
- Numerous modifications to her weapons
Ok, Metroid fans, how can Samus pull this one off?

October 10th, 2007 at 5:12 pm
I have no idea who whould win. this is an extremely even fight if you ask me. I think it could go either way. just depends on the situation. I would personally like to see MC versus Guyver. If you don’t know what that is, you can ask me and i’ll tell you. - Guyver, now that’s an interesting choice. Added to the list.
October 10th, 2007 at 8:52 pm

October 17th, 2007 at 8:55 am

October 17th, 2007 at 4:52 pm

October 18th, 2007 at 11:46 am
samus would win because they would fall in love be married as the perfect couple and then the would own him liek evry other girl in the world taht controls their man lol
October 18th, 2007 at 8:39 pm
ok it is a draw even youtube agrees so no one wins. wath the video haloid and you will see but the ending sucks cock it sais MC is a girl and that pissed be off so i still think if not a draw one of them would get lucky and kill the other
October 20th, 2007 at 8:50 am
true very true but wen they realy did fight samus kinda pwned MC but HE not she could of throun her off so fast shed die from going so fast
October 22nd, 2007 at 6:48 pm
ya good point but i wont be a man bitch this time bacause i like tham both and (SAW A VIDEO OF IT YOU CHEP BASTERDS) any way it would lean twords MC but it would be very close
October 26th, 2007 at 3:33 pm
if the vid went farther [MC IS NOT A GIRL] MC would kill her so flipen fast and samuses armor cant be broken off she hasto do it her self
October 29th, 2007 at 4:57 pm
Master Chief will PWN all of these characters.
Master Chief has been training since he was six. He is genetically engineered, with super fast reflexes, times ten strenght, indestructable bones, and on top of all that. He has all this skills without wearing his suite. The Mjolnir armor is a weapon itself.
Read Fall of Reach of STFU if you think MC will loose to any of this puts.
October 30th, 2007 at 2:12 pm
Samus is a whore!!!!!
October 31st, 2007 at 8:23 am
Samus is invicible when in screw attack which means she could just do that until she is close enough to do a good attack. Or just attack him with that. Samus could win by a close shot because her armour would deflect most shots of master chief. And her shots are pure energy which would cut through Master Cheif’s shield and then annialte his suit. Nothing to it.
November 3rd, 2007 at 10:39 am
how about a fight against MC and Neo from the matrix? even if they both aren’t “plugged” in Neo can manipulate outside of the matrix. Can MC’s cybernetic augmentations be affected???
November 3rd, 2007 at 11:28 am
samus will win she has more advansed armor and wepons like lock on missles mc has no chance!!!!!!
November 6th, 2007 at 5:52 am
Hm, it would be pretty close, but Samus’s armour would deflect most of the solid rounds human weapons fire, while her charge beam would tear through MC’s shield. I think that their strengths and agility would be pretty even myself, and both of them are both solely responsible for bringing down an entire alien armada… I say draw, or one gets a lucky shot.
November 7th, 2007 at 4:56 pm
I say they would rather fuck each other than fight…
November 7th, 2007 at 7:15 pm
true u do have a point
November 8th, 2007 at 1:59 pm
dudes master chief has no interst in doing Samus because a part of his enhaicments is that he loses his sexual attraction of anybody
November 9th, 2007 at 4:34 pm
n even if they did do each other
mc would f**k samus so hard that she would be dead anyway
mc wins by hot neurotic sex
November 10th, 2007 at 8:56 am
it would be close but mc would own samus cause samus has 1 gun and master chief has alot plus a plasma sword and a gravity hammer so go think wat would hapen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mc owns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 15th, 2007 at 9:23 am
If Master Chief can be killed with ONE rocket, imagine what a five-missile lock-on, or one super missile, would do to him. And Samus has a PLASMA beam which would eat up Master Chief’s shield in 2 seconds.
November 15th, 2007 at 9:24 am
No competition, Samus easy winner;).
November 16th, 2007 at 7:05 pm
They are the two great game main characters they are same except gender so they would just hav $ex
November 17th, 2007 at 7:40 pm
um..i think samus is basically a female version of mc. so maybe this one is a draw.
November 18th, 2007 at 11:47 pm
i want to see master chief versus sephiroth - Added to the list!
November 22nd, 2007 at 2:54 am
here are some other fights i wanna see masterchief versus superman - on the list
November 22nd, 2007 at 2:55 am
and masterchief versus sora (from kingdom hearts) - this might be a tough one, but we’ll see how it goes!
November 22nd, 2007 at 2:16 pm
samus wins this fights hands down shes got missles we all know what misles do to masterchief they kill him ok shes got alot of the and shes doesnt have to carry them around with a big missle launcher there already in her armor also shes can go super speed i mean real super speed and when she turns into that little ball shes got unlimited bombs thats right unlimited so about 2 bombs out to kill him oh she can move really fast in that little ball moode to oh lets not forget shes got that big ass lasrer that she can fire normaly or charge up and bam thats game AGAIN wantme to name another way ok see samus is very agile master chief is more fire and dodge lets see samus is running full super speed at masterchief so fast tht any gun fire will miss so fast any grenades hes got will take to long to pin oh and not to mention her super fast running speed is very very fast i mean like the blink of an eye so think of her tackling the masterchief full force thats damge right there either damge or death then all shes got to do is either fire at hime twice with her normal shot or fire a life finishing missle see samus wins its no competion samus wins oh and samus has taken on alot of stuff all by herself no help from marines backing her up no super smart ai no entire colony of humans in tanks and pelicans so yeah she wins this
November 28th, 2007 at 10:51 pm
i think that samus and chief need to hook up instead of fighting.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:11 pm
Yeah, they even look like each other (But MC would pwn samus)
November 30th, 2007 at 12:10 am
well i already said how samus is superior to masterchief you know her stronger weapons beter suit of armor beter skills she i know i already said this before but she doesnt have any help like masterchief if it wasnt for the backup marines masterchief got sometimes hed be dead unlike samus who fights all alone i guess we can see whos got the real skills and the real moves samus wins!!!!
December 1st, 2007 at 3:23 pm
it kinda sucks cuz mc doesn’t have all those fancy armor and weapon thingies so samus would win but no armor or weapons mc would crush samus
December 2nd, 2007 at 2:14 am
actually youve oviosuly never seen samus without armor even without it she still kicks ass trust me ive seen her fight without it and like i just said she whoops ass so shed still beat masterchief
December 4th, 2007 at 1:14 am
Now lets see… I just fished key-yelling at some retards in the MC v Ironman. MC would get owned by samus hands down. Don;t try to use some stupid remarks like the people in the other Forum thingy said. Samus is far better than Chief. now a REAL match-up of craziness would be Samus v Ironman. Hahahaha ’nuff with the chief-he’d be pwned by Ironman and Samus, but what about pitting THEM against eachother?
December 4th, 2007 at 1:16 am
mcbac508- all i have to say to you is that Chief relies on his Suit to give him his bravery. No suit, and he, like everyone, would fear for thier life. Samus-on the other hand, has atleast fought Zero-Suit. And i’ll tell you what, SHE STILL WOULD KICK HIS ASS. But Zero-Suit Samus v no suit Ironman… Samus would win.. i guess.
December 5th, 2007 at 12:09 pm
well mc’s dies of a missle guys.. Samus doesn’t… MC fights grunts n pirates tall as himself… samus fights pirates, monsters tall as buildings… who is stronger you ask? MC fights with groups at HALO 1 (dont know about 2) and samus has always been a loner.. always. Btw samus is also equipped with 2k of energy… while chief dies of a machine gun… wasnt that hard to guess the winner MC IS THE WI… joking lol.. you can see what i’ve wroten
December 5th, 2007 at 12:21 pm
I kind’a feel sorry for the HALO fans calling Samus a whore n stuff ^^ it just show’s that they are pretty much tortured that she still gets MC.. Hals fans should see it.. Nintendo made her overdoing powerful.. its meant to be that she’s the protector of the galaxy i mean… i would’nt go around with chiefs suit if i fought against the Galaxy.. why? well it looks like a dirt biker suit xD the helmet n all. Plus she has saved races of aliens… Chief is still on it

there you guys go, watch the Samus vs MC fight transpire for real, oh and with regards of MC’s speed in any situation, if you read your Halo 1 handbooks, hes genetically and cybernetically altered for speed, eyesight and cooridnation, aka, not just a normal human in armour
December 5th, 2007 at 11:47 pm
woahhhh, sorry ppl, wrong vid, although still cool, this is the real one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9sYixr2miY&feature=related
December 6th, 2007 at 12:47 pm
doomelydee is grumpy!
December 7th, 2007 at 6:18 pm
Doesn’t really make any difference. MC looks like a copy right infringing rip off of Samus, so I think MC loses because of a lawsuit being filed in this dimension.
December 7th, 2007 at 9:31 pm
anyway mc kicks @$$ even without his suit (he’s genetically enhanced idiot) but the zero suit does not count cuz i meant samus and mc in non-superpower giving regular clothes
December 8th, 2007 at 10:44 pm
samus wins oh and you oviosly havent seen how tough she is outside her suit she kicks ass even without that thing but ive never seen masterchief fight the covenant without his suit so i guess we know whos stronger well masterchief loses samus wins
December 12th, 2007 at 1:05 pm
Copycat come on man everyone knows mc is a Superhuman and the suit is their just to enhance him. everything moves in slow mo for him and he has increadible healing abilities and strength. So before you go and say that MC isn’t tough sit down and read the book “The Fall of Reach”
December 13th, 2007 at 1:52 pm
ok robert! while mc’s reading how good he is in his book samus would be pickin her teeth w/ his bones! when samus turns into her little ball and rolls around it’d be like tryin ta hit an ant on an ant hill w/a pellet gun, her weapons are way more advanced as well!!! Samus>mc
December 13th, 2007 at 5:38 pm
ill just say one little thing robert samus is much faster once she starts going fast theres no stoping her if she hits masterchief while going at full speed even half speed hes dead oh and healing abilities why is it that when masterchief gets shot he doesnt heal your probably confusing his shield with his health his shiled recovers after a while not his health and if he can heal then why is it that when your on halo and you get shot without your shiled theres blood all over the floor hmmm if theres blood all over the floor doesnt that mean that masterchiefs health is going down why yes it does so if theres a bunch of blood spilling all over the floor which eventually leads to death i guess masterchief doesnt heal its ok i understand you confused his shileds for his health oh and samus just blast him with a missle boom she wins masterchief loses
December 14th, 2007 at 5:57 pm
in halo 2 if you wait long enough his health regenerates you dee-dee-dee
December 15th, 2007 at 2:58 pm
duhh uhh duhhh they dont regenerate when hes getting blasted duhhh all samus has to do is use her missle boom masterchiefs dead she can use her laser boom those alone are more than enough to kill masterchief dont forget masterchief has never foughten an elite in hand to hand combat without his suit were samus has taken on things in and out of her suit that were much stronger than her dont forget that masterchief would have died a long time ago if it wasnt for his marine backup his smart ai were samus has no backup and no ai and she still fights and wins hmmm so let me see if samus can fight on her own without a smart computer and no backup in and out of her suit and masterchief cant i guess we see whos superior so whos stronger samus who knows how to survive and fight or masterchief who relies on that suit like its life well i guess its ovious samus wins missles boom masterchief is dead mega lasers boom masterchief is dead unlimited supply of bombs which samus gets when goes into quick little ball mode wow there are so many more ways she can win but ill just end with this masterchief loses samus wins
December 18th, 2007 at 11:21 am
What is green,
that can go over 30mph,
Has the strength to lift things over 100 times heavier than itself if not more,
Relexes Quicker than a cat,
and is over a ton of steel and man?
Why It’s Master Chief!
What is a littlered stain on the floor with Bits of metal and spandix in it?
Why its Samus after being hit by the Master Chief!
December 19th, 2007 at 12:19 pm
personally, i agree with everyone who says MC and Samus should hook up instead of fighting…but if they did fight, Samus definitly has the edge, what with her built in MISSILE LAUNCHER and all…remember, MC can still be blown up by 1 single rocket…and Samus has power-ups that basically fuse a bunch of missiles together.
December 19th, 2007 at 1:12 pm
oops, sorry peeps i was just playing metroid prime 3 and realized samus would use hypermode on mc and blast him with her female, phazon-based fury while she was invincible. this fight doesn’t make sense cuz mc would rather bang samus than fight her:)
December 19th, 2007 at 5:28 pm
also, i still like mc better and still think halo is better than metroid, and i still think that mc would totally whoop samus’ booty if neither of them had weapons
December 19th, 2007 at 5:28 pm
or armor
December 21st, 2007 at 8:58 am
mcbac508
none of em had weapons you say right?…. atleast Samus is more athletic than MC… he has been injected with (lets call it steroids) that might explain the power but samus is atleast pure (if you dont count with the implants) i mean chief is a half human half robot… and ppl who says that chief would like to bang Samus.. well i guess he’d like but i dont think he could… its like being crippled from the waist down for MC.. hes half human half robot/android/something still if both where stripped of thier super things.. Samus is more trained… Chief started training at 6 wich is really good for a child eh? but Samus started at 4, wich i can admit is abit wierd for a female child but that’s the story.. written and cant change. So you see who has more experience? LEave this now.. one more thing that botheres me.. samus has
Cybernetic Power Suit
and chief has
a “cool armor”.. i mean even if it is cool who says its good.. lol ^^ (it is actually great but Samus has more advanced stuff on her.. and a head shot doesnt seem to kill her on any game i’ve played.. chiefs helmet does pretty much get penetrated.. on the other hand i guess that they’ve made the Halo games abit more of a challenge.. while the metroid games are pretty easy after you’ve learned to play.. dont know about MP3 though, but they say it has the most comfortable controls on a console FPS) there you go… i’ve explained who might have a bigger chance of winning without weps
Samus has more experience… even if chief would come close to her i think she would’ve dashed away or something.. after that maybe give him some punches or something like that… watch haloid btw =) she seem to be owning him with his suit on and with her suit off
(though the ending sux)
December 21st, 2007 at 10:42 am
I think they would fight and fight and fight and fight…but while they are fighting they would be making wize cracks at each other and after a couple of days of fighting they would call a truce and fall in love. Can you imagine the KICK-#SS kid they would have!!…DAMN!!! - yet another language edit…
December 21st, 2007 at 10:44 am
Copy cat….READ THE F#CKING BOOKS YOU RETARD!!! MC DOES HAVE ALOT OF BATTLES OUTSIDE HIS SUIT!!!
d!ckhead. - edited for language…

SWEET VIDEO
December 21st, 2007 at 1:24 pm
mc can jump waay higher and run waay faster than any human while he is wearing a suit that WEIGHS A FREAKIN’ TON!!! without it he would be able to run faster than ANY other human (except the flash, and he is disqualified because he has gay lightning bolt things behind his ears)
December 22nd, 2007 at 4:04 pm
yawn oh man you people dont get it samus wins this in and out of her suit i saw that haloid video a long time ago kinda forgot what happened but i remember samus whoped masterchiefs ass in and out of her suit you all seem to be forgeting that samus unlike masterchief has no backup ai or dropship that picks her up shes got her one ship and her powerful suit of armor and has survived different alien worlds diffrent alien opponents unlike masterchief flood and covenant samus has fought by herself and won in and out of suit you all know aswell as i do that as soon as masterchief put that suit on he never took it off unlike samus who has fought outside her suit swo i guess we see whos stronger samus masterchief would try to shoot her it woouldnt do anything cause her armor or shed just go into mini ball mode and expolde an unlimited supply of bombs around but she wouldnt need to cause two would do the trick or she could just save time and blast him with her missles which also kill masterchief like nothing or she could blast him with her mega laser so many way i think you get my point masterchief loses samus wins its just that simple
December 26th, 2007 at 2:25 am
I think MC should just drop the weapons and have rough sex with her!
December 28th, 2007 at 10:29 pm
tie
December 30th, 2007 at 9:32 pm
samus would own, one graple laso and the mc is striped of the suit. then a missile would just make him explode on de spot.. in other word samus would own the hell out of mc
January 1st, 2008 at 5:47 pm

U GUYS ARE RETARDED SHE MAY HAVE TRAINED WHEN SHE WAS 4 AND MC TRAINEE WHEN HE WAS 6 BUT MASTER CHIEF IS 40-60 YEARS OLD AND SHES 21 IN THE GAME SO MASTER CHIEF WOULD WIN HANDS DOWN
January 2nd, 2008 at 5:01 pm
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/57998.html?id=57998
this is the answer
its a tie
January 3rd, 2008 at 2:18 am
i smell team up and merrige
January 6th, 2008 at 6:56 am
I own both mp3 and H3 and i know that samus would win because she can lock on five missiles at once and her beam can melt metal on impact, also she has over 6 shields that can easily stand up to multiple rocket balsts, and then she goes into hypermode, when shes invincible and can fire hyper missiles which will blow up a fricken elephant. And about the rape thing thats juz foul
January 9th, 2008 at 12:47 pm
Oke watch first my fideo…….
Oke if you see samus figthing so hard! with 3 energy! To ridley! And ridley shoot laser out of its mounth! And with its iron claws its graps its pray and slash it to pieces!
Think if Mc would be there he is death bevore Ridley Aproses!
Wat obout Ridley VS the boss of Mc!
January 11th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
Lmao thats not even a fight thats master cheif 2 bullets 1 in each leg so she cant run and then master cheif nocks her out she wakes up in there marine base and then starts to give all the marines a little sumtin sumtin then she gets to mc and she says ur my saviour arent you and then mc is like yep and its over the fuck like a hurricane everything to them in the room is spining and the whole time mc’c boys in the back are like you go out of no where i scream out thats why he is the master cheif
January 24th, 2008 at 9:33 pm
Alan, ridley’s “iron claw’s” wouldn’t be anything against chief’s titanium armor, and ridley isn’t the only being in the universe with a laser (cough cough spartan laser)
January 25th, 2008 at 6:35 pm
this is too easy for the Chief, she doesn’t have sheilds, her armor is no trouble for any plasma weapon, or the chiefs enhanced abilities.
January 27th, 2008 at 12:03 pm
MCs got super human strength, got shields, sounds cool, has awesome guns, barely misses, never loses, has a little voice in his head, has motion sensors. So my bet goes with the cheif.
January 27th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
Samus has no chance up close. She has a power suit, but it doesn’t make her anywhere NEAR as strong as MC. A rocket WOULD kill Samus. An energy sword and gravity hammer WOULD kill her too. And hell a shot to the dome (at least through the visor) from a sniper rifle WOULD kill Samus. Samus’s super missile WOULD kill MC, her plasma cannon however would need at least 2-3 hits, first shot would take down his shields, its basically like a covenant sniper, but bigger and i don’t think as powerful since its not concentrated as much. Samus can jump high, but only with her boots and her suit doesn’t add a whole lot of strength, all of her strength relies on her arm cannon and ball bombs. MC would pwn
January 28th, 2008 at 8:57 pm
Mc was genetically modified, but so was Samus so she could survive on non-earth atmospheres without her suit. Master Chief can jump high and run fast, But Samus has hyper-dash and screw attack and continuous jump. She can fly. Master Chief cannot survive a rocket. Samus has 250 with no reload and a menagerie of variants that can merge into even more powerful armaments. MC can lift things “over 100 times heavier than itself.” Samus weighs maybe 200 lbs. Not gonna help. Chief weighs a ton. Also he has the Grapple beam that can grab and pull at amazing amounts, and even absorb and discharge energy. Chief has been training since age 6. Samus since 4. Chief has a recharging energy shield and bio-foam. Samus has a mysterious 999 points of energy with no known system of representation. MC has a re-breather system that gives him ninety minutes of air in zero atmosphere. Samus has infinite air. Samus’ armor is resistant to lava. The games project MC as non-water-proof (I don’t know if the books disagree), nor is it proof to a fire-bomb. Samus has a Plasma beam that Shoots PURE FIRE. She also has an ice-beam for freezing, and a plethora of other beams with different effects, including the Phazon educed hyperbeam. If Ridley’s laser equals that of a Spartan Laser, Samus can survive many blasts of that. MC cannot. Ridley’s claws are armor-piercing. So is a sniper round. Samus has taken these claws to the head on multiple occasions. Master Chief can kill many types of enemies by assassination. Samus has no close range (advantage chief, unless you include SSB). Samus’ screw-attack is also a one-hit-kill, though. Both suits have AI and the ability to hack. Samus has been able to reboot her system after being hacked in 2 seconds. I do not know of any such event occurring to master chief. MC can hold two, maybe three guns at once. Samus never puts down any of her weapons, and has almost as many guns as the entirety of Halo. A plasma pistol is weak in single shots but is considered a power wep when charged, afterwards needing cool-down. This is similar to Samus’s BASIC power beam, which has no cool-down need, and infinite ammo. Chief can use active cammo. Samus has visors that can detect the invisible, whether they are to sonic, thermo, or electrically invisible, or even in a different dimension. Active cammo won’t help. Samus’s power bomb in morph-ball mode is as powerful as a Nuke. These two would never take off their suits in a logical simulation. Their suits are all they are! But, without the suits, Samus can still out jump and out maneuver MC. Also, Samus’ suit can be put on within 5 sec notice. This her full suit, not just the zero-suit. In GBA and NES games, Samus’ beams can pierce shields, walls, and enemies, dimensions (MP2), and even BOSSES. None of MC weapons can pierce a prophet’s shields or that of Tartarus. MC is so badass, he destroyed the same halo TWICE! Samus takes a chunk out of a planet she’s leaves every game (13), destroyed one, and even ended an ENTIRE DEMINSION. If you feel like adding anything to this list, please do. And feel free to start an online chart of advantages between these two. I’m sure many would appreciate it.
I personally like Master Chief more, but because he’s the weaker. Think about it. Whose cooler? Spiderman or superman, and who would win?
The only way Chief has a chance is if he has a plasma pistol and Samus’s energy is an ‘energy shield’, and he sees her first. otherwise
Samus Wins…
January 29th, 2008 at 4:49 am
Samus hands down speed boost with ice beam alone leaves chief dead in the time it takes him to draw a gun.
February 11th, 2008 at 11:27 pm
Well the problem is that MC can be invulnerable for like 10 sec dont know how much excatly and well samus can be kill with 1 headshot for the imperialist beam(ds) no matter how many energy she have so the spartan laser will kill she too. Also the MC suit is build to resist all kind of beams so Samus will have to use the rockets to get more damage.
February 17th, 2008 at 3:47 pm
Dude, your grammar is terrible. I do not know what the Imperialist Beam is, but we’ve already established that Smaus’s energy can take a hekuva lot more punishment than MC’s shields from almost any weapon. Just read statement 84. it has theoretical game damage value conversions.
Someone please tell me what he means by “imperialist beam(ds)”

MC is FAR superior, this is why:
Samus MC
laser(only 1) <plasma pistolx2
missles in mp train since six
natural < enhanced
same speed out suit
same speed in suit
200lb suit < 1ton suit
lift10times < lift100times
light beam < spartan laser
dark beam < fuel rod canon
ball mode = vehicles
crazy mode=post traumatic stress
5missles= 1halo missle
targeting is better in halo
MC’s armor=indestructible
samus’armor=can be shredded!
MC’s oversheild=samus’
MC can jump UP a cliff
samus can “fly”
——-NO ARMOR SECTION——–
samus is hotter
MC is faster
MC is stronger
MC is more experienced in fight
MC is way scarier if real
——-destruction section—–
samus has taken planets
MC has taken a planet DESTROYER twice
samus has taken a dimension
she also didn’t do it with a weapon now did she?
MC is more aggressive
AND can tame it when needed to be
MC is an assassin AND a soldier
MC is the winner!

copycat that wasent MC in that movie for if you didn’t watch the end it was a female Spartan (maybe Lisa) but everyone knows that Mc is much better than the rest of the spartans so
MC= Owning Samus then T-bagging her dead body.

i think they will just makeout in the ship
February 27th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
I say say they are more likly to take their helmets off and start kissing then to blow each other to sh!t
February 27th, 2008 at 5:01 pm
Sweet merciful Jesus…why?
Listen, they’re not compatible. Samus is from far in to the future, while the Chief is a lot closer to now.
My verdict? Inconclusive, and whoever asks this question needs to be shot.
Thank you and good…afternoon.

the imperialist beam was the sniper weapon in the DS game metroid prime hunters it fired out a red beam that owned everything, but unfortunately for him, all of samus’ stuff (including the imperialist beam)got taken by the ing at the beginning of metroid prime 2:echoes and samus doesnt recover her impy
March 1st, 2008 at 11:23 am
i think its a tie
March 6th, 2008 at 4:20 am
samus has it in the bag. one simple fact: when did the MCs life + shield add up to 99 + E-tanks.
now the supporting data:
grapple beam
super missles
self upgrading armor/chozo tech
MC has none of these things. especially the downside of having to find ammo since he doesn’t have an endless supply.
there’s no lucky shot about it. she really doesn’t even need to fight him to win. Samus has enough tricks to psych the chief out w/o so much as a punch thrown.
i love me some halo, and metroid is great too. putting which game i like better aside, Samus just have horrific advantages.
fist fight: i still gotta say she’d give him a run for his money. that one i cant say eithr way. it’s a “lucky shot” matchup
March 6th, 2008 at 2:36 pm
okay since when did samus’ sheilds regenerate by themselves. Or have being made out of the same material that heavily armoured Spaceships are made of.
March 6th, 2008 at 2:38 pm
okay since when did samus’ sheilds regenerate by themselves. Or have being made out of the same material that heavily armoured Spaceships are made of. Also you cant psych th chief out. All of his training prevents him from getting psyched out. (he wasn’t even afraid when first fighting the flood… Just alert)
March 6th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
There should be a fight between Master Chief and Goku
- added to the “Vs” series list. - admin
March 8th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
I love both characters and games. this decision was really hard.
I feel it would be a draw. Samus’s weapons are way stronger than MC and she has multiple energy tanks. However, MC, I feel has a lot more fighting skills, I mean common, he’s a Spartan. Samus’s bosses are a lot tougher than anything MC has ever faced, thus, giving her a slight advantage. Even though MC has faced the Flood, which is a tough foe and more him a more fine tuned soldier, they pale in the comparison to monsters and evil that Samus has taken on.
Strangely, I think that Samus would completely annihilate MC. She has a lot more advantages that out way any “luck” MC could ever have.
March 8th, 2008 at 2:06 pm
oops, yeah just edit out the “i think it would be a draw.” i am a dumbsh!t. - edited for language, even though it was for yourself! - admin
March 9th, 2008 at 11:20 am
no ones saying her shields regenerate. just that they can take a hell of a lot more than maser chief. he cant unload eniugh riunds of any gun in her to kill her shield in the time it takes for her to kill him. your right about chief not psyching out, though. all im syaing is that dont matter. samus has the bigger shieldsand bigger guns.
Samus wins.
March 9th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
I know who will win….BOTH OF THEM !!!
-They rather fell in love first than to kill each other.
March 10th, 2008 at 11:27 am
Ok, so there’s definitely the two kinds of arguers here, those trying to present valid points and those just shouting idiotic foolishness. I say the argument is really quite mute. These characters are from seperate fantasy worlds, The MC’s abilities are scaled properly to take on the enemies of his world and Samus’s are appropriately tailored to hers’, which I have to stay taken out of her own context at full power she would more than be able to handle MC. It’s not a big deal, get over halo fans.
Also, those of you complaining of about the youtube/gametrailers video portrayal of MC as a woman. If you would but read the comments of the author on Gametrailers you might remember that there were multiple Spartans and the one in the video is not necessarily the Master Chief. Thank you and please try to be less ignorant before you shout things out in the future.

Your right Raistlin005 from now on lets all hold hands and sing cume-ba-ya.
March 10th, 2008 at 11:23 pm
fair point, Robert. Without conflict what’s the fun in anything. But I’ve seen this argument many times before and have grown quite tired of it. But if adding fuel to the fire will make everyone happy, I really do believe that Samus would quite easily annihilate Master Chief. But I like the Master Chief too, and just don’t think it’s a fair comparison.
March 11th, 2008 at 1:03 pm
All right Raistlin since you believe this so much i would love to see some support on this possision of yours. (we will keep this as cival as possible) then i will give the reasons why MC would win and then we all can go home happy.
March 13th, 2008 at 5:32 pm
I have yet to see something that can stand up to shots from a spartan laser or a few shots from a sniper.
At any rate this is probably the closest vs. I have seen on this site. Although I am familiar with Samus, I am not an expert on her like I am with MC. There for I would be hard pressed to make a comparison. I do know that MC and Samus both have shield-killing weapons and single hit weapons.
Out of all these battles I think this is a prime candidate for the stale-mate category.
March 15th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
I believe that somewhere in this thread, someone compared the spartan laser to Meta Ridely’s heat ray. Master Cheif may not be able to survive this weapon, but Samus has. Also, the Spartan Laser is not always a one-hit-kill. I haveused this laser on many a vehivle on and off-line, and the laser doesn’t always work. As for a sniper, if Samus’ shields can withstand a spartan laser, then a sniper round should be of little problem, as the laser is far more powerful.
Now, I’m not saying a stale mate is not possible, but Samus’ arsenal makes such an outcome very unlikely. I would say thats about as far as Master Cheifs luck can take him. There is still chance of a victory on his side, but thats unequivically unlikely.
March 16th, 2008 at 3:15 am
Prepare for eye bleeding.. I think.
Ah, Samus versus Master Chief. This is one of those threads that begs for an exapost to just shut the fanboys down. Perhaps I will be the man to do it. So, I might as well start off with the definition of canon, and the discussion upon it:
“Definition of Canon”
can•on |ˈkanən|
In the context of a fictional universe, the canon comprises those novels, stories, films, et cetera, that are considered to be genuine or officially sanctioned, and those events, characters, settings, et cetera, that are considered to have existence within the fictional universe.
ORIGIN Old English : from Latin, from Greek kanōn ‘rule,’ reinforced in Middle English by Old French canon.
So, now this begs the question: “Which is the ‘original source’?” Well, considering the books are adaptations of the game, then that would mean that the games hold precedence, do they not? So, how much of the book actually follows the ‘fictional universe’, as set forth by the games Halo: Combat Evolved (H:CE), Halo 2 (H2), and Halo 3 (H3)? Well, for one, his abilities are greatly exaggerated in the book. He can not run and react in the game as shown by the book. He doesn’t seem to have many of the augmentations that the books seem to tout off as his mainstays. I didn’t remember the Master Chief moving so fast that I couldn’t control his character; nor did anything seem to be moving slower in the game. So, going by the game as the original source, the books (and their abilities) are non-canon. Also note that the book is an adaption to the games, proving that the games take precedence where conflict occurs.
To those of you who read my previous exapost, you did see right, I did indeed cut and paste my entire argument against the Halo books canon. Why? Because it fits and I said so. Happy? Moving on.
Now, lets talk some about Master Chief’s in-game armaments, shall we? First off, he wears a MJOLNIR Mark V and VI armor in the games, which is designed by humans (more on that later). It is an armor that only a few can wear due to durability concerns of regular humans; for Master Chief to wear this armor he must be an extraordinary human being. Since the armor also amplifies his ‘output’, so to speak, that means that he can lift great weights in the suit. Now, Samus by comparison, is completely different. She has a suit that was designed with her, and only her, in mind. It was designed by an ancient race of technologically advanced bird people, the Chozo. This suit (by itself) has no amplifications to her body, yet she manages to jump great heights. Why is this? Because her body is infuzed with the blood of the Chozo (though the e-manga states that she was ‘transfused’ with Chozo DNA. Actually, I like that explanation more as it does make more sense. Credit to John Calvin goes to this addition, too). What does this mean? It amplifies her frail human body to superhuman standards so that she can survive on the planet of Zebes, which apparently has a harsher environment (and apparently increased gravity, greater than that of earth). While this may not sound like a lot, my colleague Saiyan Master Vegeta put this into perspective more me:
“Saiyan Master Vegeta”
Samus’ physical strength hasn’t been established to a great extent, however it is known that her general ability (without the suit) greatly exceeds that of a normal human being, due to her being infused with Chozo blood as a child. Judging from her enormous leaps, even just from a stand-still, I’d estimate that Samus is roughly 50 times stronger than a human being.
That may sound like a slight stretch, but let’s look at the numbers:
An average person can jump about 2 feet in the air from a stand-still.
At the beginning of Metroid Prime, Samus exits her ship, and jumps at least 100 feet in the air, landing with ease afterwards. As is repeatedly stated throughout Metroid games, the Chozo blood which she was infused with gave her immense strength. It is only reasonable to believe that this strength was distributed in appropriate amounts throughout her body. Due to this, Samus should logically be about 50 times stronger than a human being.
Now, to get a little more technical, the average adult male should be able to bench press about 150 lbs (I’m an averagely slim teenager who doesn’t work out, and I can bench 130 lbs). Going by the logic that Samus is approximately 50 times stronger than a human being, and that her additional bloodline strength was distributed in proper amounts (I.E. Her arm strength should be 50 times stronger than that of a human’s arms, and her leg strength should be about 50 times stronger than that of human legs), she should be able to bench press approximately 7500 lbs, equaling 3.75 tons.
I’m not saying those numbers are correct, but the theory behind it is.
Now, on to Samus’s ’shielding’. Samus’s shield seems to work in a similar way to Master Chief’s but lacks a ‘recharge’ function. However, it seems that her suit is far more modular (as will be discussed later) and expandable than the MJOLNIR amour, by a great deal. Without going too much into her armaments (that is for another section!), I will point out that that Samus can gain ‘energy’ tanks, which increase the maximum strength of the shield. So, while she starts off with 99 energy, she can theoretically reach upwards of 2099 energy. Now put this into perspective, a missile (which is said to be of a higher yield than the Halo missiles) takes away roughly 40-50 energy, and that is with the weakest shielding (at max power that damage will be cut by around 75%), whereas one missile is enough to kill the Master Chief.
While I’m just guessing here, I might say that ancient and technologically advanced race (moreso than the humans in Halo, Halo 2, and Halo 3) has the tech over Master Chief.
I might say a bit about Cortana here, and why she isn’t going to be that useful in the fight. Some people (I’m sure) will bring up the whole “Master Chief will use Cortana to hack Samus and make her useless”, so let me shut this down now: Samus’s suit has been hacked by other enemies, and Samus just reboots her suit, leaving no ill effects. What would this mean for Cortana? At worst (for her) deletion, and at the very least she would be unable to hack her suit. I might also mention that Samus’s scan visor has been shown to hack into devices from a distance, with no need to directly interface with the objects themselves. So, it might very well be a valid tactic for Samus to ’scan’ Master Chief, if only to screw him up.
Now, on to weapons! Master Chief has an array of weapons (which will be detailed below) which seemed to be largely on ballistics, whereas Samus has moved on to energy based weaponry (though she still uses missiles). So, to make this post as eye-bleedingly long as possible, I will list every Halo weapon by game:
Halo: Combat Evolved
• M6D Magnum Sidearm- A small gun with a scope. Its a gun that fires tungsten bullets (apparently). However, I don’t see this doing much damage.
• MA5B ICWS Assault Rifle- An assault rifle. It fires bullets faster. Same as the M6D in terms of effectiveness against Samus.
• M90 Shotgun- This might do something, but only in close range. However, with Samus’s weapons and fighting style, I don’t see this happening.
• SRS99C-S2 AM Sniper Rifle - While it does have a better scope and power (and range) than the handgun (and kills most everything with a single headshot), but I don’t think this will work that well. Why? Because Samus’s armor and her shielding are said to be superior to anything that Chief has ever faced (however, I would like it if the more Metroid-savvy would give more data on this than I have) and I don’t think this would do more than 100 energy, considering Metroid Prime: Hunters has a laser sniper rifle doing 200 damage with a headshot. I would consider a high-output laser that acts as a sniper rifle much more effective than a ballistic one.
• M19 SSM Rocket Launcher- I’ve covered rockets before, but I’ll say it again: “a missile (which is said to be of a higher yield than the Halo missiles) takes away roughly 40-50 energy, and that is with the weakest shielding (at max power that damage will be cut by around 75%), whereas one missile is enough to kill the Master Chief.” Yes, I quoted myself. But, at least I state the facts, right?
• M9 HE-DP Grenade- If a missile isn’t going to do much, why is a grenade going to do any better?
Halo 2
• BR55 Battle Rifle- Replaces the MA5B from H:CE. However, bullets still wouldn’t do much damage, as I’ve stated before.
• M9 HE-DP Grenade- Same as H:CE, but the blast radius is apparently smaller. Oh, and it still wouldn’t work.
• M6C Magnum Sidearm- Pretty much the same pistol we know and love from H:CE, minus the scope. Its also the same amount of worthlessness against Samus. Nothing new here.
• M90 Shotgun- According to my sources, this has a shorter effectiveness range. This means that it would be even more worthless than the H:CE shotgun. Poor Master Chief
• SRS99C-S2 AMB Sniper Rifle- Same as before from H:CE, but once again it seems to be powered down. Is Halo undergoing a recession?
• M7 SMG- It fires really useless bullets really really quickly. See my point here?
• M7S Submachine Gun- Bullets are worthless. That is the moral to this story.
• M41 SSR MAV/AW Rocket Launcher- Yes. We already know that missiles are the most effective in Master Chief’s arsenal by now, but still don’t do that much damage to a full-powered Samus. Oh, and this missile launcher homes in. Whoopty doo.
Halo 3
• SRS99D-S2 AM Sniper Rifle- Apparently this is slower to fire than H2. This is getting worse and worse for the Chief here.
• M6G Magnum Sidearm- More powerful than its H2 counterpart, and fires faster. Yes, bullets are still fairly worthless.
• Spartan Laser- This is the only USNC weapon that I can see that is going to do any real damage here. This might do two tanks of damage (though the mother brain had a similar beam which continuously fired, knocked back people into walls (that had shielding) and didn’t stop until Samus was almost dead. Too bad spartan laser isn’t that powerful though.). Not to mention I think this thing is going to be hard to hit someone that can fly through the air indefinitely.
• Missile Pod- Large unwieldy weapon that fires missiles. I’ve already covered missiles.
• MA5C ICWS Assault Rifle- This new gun has a big enough clip to kill Master Chief, assuming every bullet hits. Too bad Samus’s shield at its lowest default might be considered to be four times more powerful than Master Chief’s shields.
• BR55HB SR Battle Rifle- See Halo 2 Battle rifle.
• M7 Caseless Sub Machine Gun- See the SMG from Halo 2.
• AIE-486H Heavy Machine Gun Turrets- Large unwieldy weapon that fires bullets. I think this is getting repetitive, eh?
• M41 SSR MAV/AW Rocket Launcher- No more lock on feature, larger blast radius, and doesn’t steer. Can’t Samus just dodge to the side with her onboard boosters?
• M90A CAWS Shotgun- More powerful than the Halo 2 shotgun. Still limited range. Still fires bullets.
• M7057 Defoliant Projector Flamethrower- I don’t see this helping either, as this weapon slows Master Chief down and can’t steer that well. Samus can just hit him from afar.
Notice I left out the Covenant weapons? I left them out for two reasons: one, I don’t see Master Chief getting them as regular weapons, as opposed to the human weapons; two, this is going to be long enough without that list. But, complain enough and I’ll add them.
Now, on to Samus’s weapons/abilities/equipment. Since she gets a lot of repetitive items, I’ll only list them once, as opposed to game by game. That list would be much longer than the Halo list, considering she gets the morph ball in every game:
• Power Beam: a basic weapon. Fires balls of energy. It also seems that Covenant weapons (being based around energy themselves) cut through Master Chief’s shields at a fairly fast clip, it stands to reason that she could damage Master Chief fairly quickly.
• Long beam: apparently gives a longer range to the power beam. This ability was never removed in another Metroid game, so it might be assumed that she internalized this upgrade permanently.
• Spazer Beam: This beam makes Samus’s shots spread out instead of being concentrated. I might also add that this doesn’t cause the beam to lose any of its potency.
• Wave Beam: this is electrical energy that can phase through walls. In some incarnations, it can also home in on its opponents. Electricity that can phase through Master Chief would not be pleasant.
• Ice Beam: this beam has shown the propensity to freeze large objects solid fairly quickly. Chief-sicle? All jokes aside, I’m sure freezing Master Chief in that state would prove fatal to him.
• Plasma Beam: This beam allows you to shoot beams through enemies. In Metroid Prime, it depicts the beam as a ray of plasma that goes forward at tremendous speed. Think of it like a plasma grenade, but coming from a gun. In the Prime games, it also seems melt enemies, regardless of their composition.
• Dark Beam: fires beam of dark energy. Since this is ‘otherworldly energy’ it is more effective on creatures from our world (ie, light creatures). It also seems to have a ‘freezing’ effect on some creatures, too. This also runs on ‘dark ammo’. When it is out, Samus must charge the beam to fire a regular shot. Charged shots take five dark ammo regularly and have a different effect (as listed under the charge beam section).
• Light Beam: This beam fires weapons made of ‘light energy’ (it damages things, so I assume its more than a giant flashlight). It also seems to have a burning effect on creatures. This runs on ammo, called ‘light ammo’. When it is out, Samus must charge the beam to fire a regular shot. Charged shots take five light ammo regularly and have a different effect (as listed under the charge beam section).
• Annihilator Beam: This beam has a high rate of fire and has a homing effect, so firing in the general direction of the enemy usually guarantees a hit. This gun uses both light and dark ammo (one per shot, fiver per charge). If she runs out of one type of ammo, she must charge the weapon to fire a regular shot. She also has a charge combo with this weapon, listed under the charge beam section.
• Nova Beam: This weapon is a high frequency beam. Before being integrated into Samus’s suit, it was used to drill through unknown materials, due to its high potency and output. Yes, so that is now on Samus’s arm.
• Charge Beam: allows Samus to ‘charge’ her beam, increasing the potency of her weapons; it is also noted in the games that a charge beam is about as destructive as a missile. She can also combine the energy that is used to make missiles with this beam to create more destructive beams, known as beam combos:
____• Wavebuster: Combined with the wave beam. This allows Samus to fire a continuous wave of electrical energy at an enemy. This attack uses up 10 missiles to activate and 5 missiles per second afterward.
____• Ice Spreader: Combined with the ice beam. This is a missile that upon impact, with it’s concussive blast, releases a rapidly spreading sheet of ice upon the impact surface.
____• Flamethrower: Combined with the plasma beam. This is a continuous Charge Combo, which fires a stream of flame with an exceedingly short range, similar to the flamethrower in Halo 3
____• Darkburst: Combined with the Dark Beam. This attack creates an interdimensional portal that pulls particles into the interdimensional void. However, some enemies are too heavy to be pulled in and just die
____• Lightblast: Combined with the light beam. Immolates enemies. what more can you say?
And now, some lovely equipment:
• Power Suit: This suit was designed for Samus by the chozo. It has environmental defensive augmentations, such as the ability to breathe underwater indefinitely, resist Space Pirate poison, and erects an energy barrier to protect against all types of attacks from all sides. It is also noted that this suit is biological in some ways, allowing a greater interface with the suit than a mere human-machine connection. There are two main upgrades to this power suit, as well as some other upgrades, which will be listed below:
____• Varia Suit: This suit allows Samus to survive superheated and supercooled areas with no ill effects. This also provides resistance to acid on some of its models. In addition, damage is reduced by roughly 50%, probably due to better shielding
____• Gravity Suit: This protects Samus from lava and acid, and provides an additional 10-25% damage reduction (in addition to the varia suit). This also allows Samus to move at full speed anywhere, no matter what the resistance. It is noted before that lava/magma has several thousand times the viscosity of water and she doesn’t suffer any ill effect from it.
____• Phazon Suit: This suit resists all but the most concentrated phazon and increases the total defense percentage to 75% stronger than the previous suits.
____• Dark Suit: This allows Samus to survive the corrosive effects of another universe, though not completely negating the effects. This stacks on top of the Varia suit, adding a 20% protection to the shielding.
____• Light Suit: This suit completely negates the corrosive effects of another dimension on Samus’s body and increases her defense by an additional 5%. Since this is a direct upgrade to the dark suit, I can see why the percentage is so low.
____• Fusion suit: This is Samus’s suit with most of the power suit removed, actually. It is also the result of combining Samus’s DNA (and the biological parts of the suit) with metroid DNA.
____• PED Suit: This suit allows her to use an energy tank to go into a higher state of being, known as ‘hyper mode’. For roughly 27 seconds, she becomes invincible and all her weapons get powered up. She also receives upgrades to this form as well:
________• Hyper Beam: this beam is much more powerful than any other beam that she has. When charged, this gun enters a ‘machine gun’-like state and fires continuously for a few seconds.
________• Hyper Missile: this is a missile of pure phazon, that has a large explosion radius. It might be assumed that these missiles are on par with super missiles or greater.
________• Hyper Ball: this causes tendrils of electricity to emit from her morph ball form, electrocuting enemies, sometimes overloading them and causing them to explode
________• Hyper Grapple: Like grapple voltage (see below), Hyper Grapple is just a more powerful version.
____• Hazard Suit: this suit gives her additional shield as well as allowing her to survive in ‘hazardous’ environments. Ha ha I made a funny (or I’ve been at this for too long you take your pick)!
____• Zero Suit: This is actually the absence of a power suit. Why include this? Because having her in her Zero suit proves a few things:
________• She doesn’t need her suit to jump really high According to John Calvin (and my double-checking), she jumps as high as she does with hi-jump boots, meaning that she can actually jump higher than the basic power suit. One might use this to go further to back up the statement that she moves under her own power rather than the suit amplifying her power.
________• Her energy tanks aren’t tied to the suit, per se, but her
________• Her suit does not actually augment her strength or reaction time in any way, meaning that her awareness at mach speed is hers, not any sort of suit enhancement.
• Morph ball: this item allows Samus to compress herself into a ball which is one meter in diameter. She is more mobile and harder to hit in this form than just plain running in power suit (this isn’t including the speed booster attachment, included later). There are several upgrades to this as well:
____• Bombs: Puts down a small bomb. She herself is resistant to the effects while it damages other enemies.
____• Power Bombs: this puts down a highly destructive bomb which blows up a small time later (as in about one to three seconds). This also happens to be one of Samus’s most destructive non-charge weapons, incidentally enough.
____• Boost Ball: Samus can charge up energy and ‘boost’ forward. This would more than likely be used as an evasive tactic by Samus, though I believe she wouldn’t need it.
____• Spider Ball: this allows Samus to ride along magnetic rails. In Metroid II, this limitation didn’t exist, allowing Samus to freely explore around.
____• Spring Ball: allows Samus to jump in ball form. Uh… “’nuff said”?
• Missiles: need I say more? There was some talk going around about how Samus’s missiles have a higher yield than the missiles than master chief uses, but I’ll leave that to others to prove. Samus typically ends up with 255 missiles contained within her suit. In addition, the Prime games augment Samus’s missiles with homing capabilities. There also happen to be a few missile upgrades as well:
____• Super Missile: same as a regular missile, but five times as destructive. They also move much faster.
____• Seeker Missiles: this allows Samus to fire 5 homing missiles simultaneously. Yes, this is bad news for the Chief.
____• Ice Missiles: they are missiles that freeze things. ’nuff said
____• Diffusion missiles: same as ice missiles but they are charged to the point that they spread the freezing out some 15-30 feet. This freezing is apparently not limited by walls or barriers either; it just spreads right through.
• Grapple Beam: this allows Samus to attach to certain surfaces and swing around. In Metroid Prime 3, there were some upgrades to this:
____• Grapple Lasso: This is an upgrade that allows Samus to ‘grapple’ onto certain objects. However, since the list of objects she can grapple is limited, I don’t this this is going to be much use, since we don’t know if it will work or not.
____• Grapple Voltage: allows Samus to expend her energy to electrocute her enemies. Conversely, she can drain energy from her opponents.
• Energy Tank: think of it as a portable expansion to Samus’s energy shielding. This increases her shield’s energy by 100 points. But, spouting off numbers means nothing here unless I can make a comparison, so here it goes: if Master Chief dies from one point-blank explosion from a missile, and Samus takes roughly 40-50 damage from a missile. This means (by those numbers) that Chief would have less than 40-50 energy. Lets pin his energy at, say, 39-49. Okay, so Samus’s energy (typically) maxes out at 2099. So, lets do some math. 2099/39 and 2099/49 = 42.84 - 53.82 times the maximum damage potential that Chief can take (I know I flipped the numbers, but that is only to have them increasing; otherwise, you might have been confused, eh? Wait, you don’t know what I’m talking about? ≈_≈ Nevermind..). But wait! There’s more! Samus’s armor gives her (typically) 75% resistance to damage! So we then multiply those numbers by 4/3 (the 1/x of .75 which means we are really adding both numbers by 75% to get the new value) giving us: 57.12 - 71.76 times the damage potential that Master Chief can take. That may not seem like a lot, but that means that Master Chief is going to have to do a lot of damage to harm her with her having some 5712% more durability than him.
• Gravity Booster: This item gives Samus even more mobility in the water (in MP2, she didn’t get a gravity suit, so think of this as a derivative).
• High Jump/High Jump boots: doubles Samus’s already high jumping ability. Yes, this actually is a very good thing.
• Screw Attack: this is another überweapon that can’t be overlooked. It really is one of the reasons she can immediately win the fight. The screw attack destroys most enemies in a single hit. In Super Metroid, she didn’t even take damage from anything in that form, and only few very powerful attacks could break her out of it. Her body turns into energy and she rotates extremely quickly, obliterating everything in her path. Probably even the Chief.
• Space Jump: This allows Samus to fly through the air indefinitely by spinning rapidly. This also defends her durability as she is able to spin at such speeds that she flies through the air and yet remains unfazed. Metroid Prime had the upgrade reduced to a double jump, however.
• Speed Booster: this allows Samus to achieve Mach 1 speed (John Calvin again corrects me, using the term supersonic speed according to the Zero Mission instruction manual. This means Mach 1 and above. “Hypersonic” speed are mach 5 and up, so it is perfectly feasible to see mach 4 as an acceptable number. However, mach 1 is already overkill for Master Chief, so I will leave it at the lowest accepted minimum). While she is at this speed, she is invincible to all but the most solid of walls. She can also instantly go to a stop without feeling any negative deceleration effects. She can also crouch while running to stop and store a ‘charge’ from this mode. When she jumps in this mode, she ’shinesparks’; that is, flies through the air at mach speeds, charging though whatever she may come upon. In Super Metroid, she took damage from Shinesparking, as she went even faster than in speed booster mode, but this weakness was removed in other games where the speed booster made and appearance, leading one to believe that upgrades may interface with different suits in a completely different way, or that the upgrades themselves may have been at a later time.
• Visor: this is the part of Samus’s suit that displays the HUD, and it also provides various features, such as the ability to lock on to various creatures and stay locked on. She can also lock on to a creature and dash to the side very quickly using the back-mounted rockets. This would make her far more maneuverable than the chief, I would say.
Having covered most (I dare not say all, I know I’ve missed some) of the items, I think it a fair bit to say that Samus does indeed have more abilities than Master Chief. So, from here, I will attempt to dissect some key areas and determine a winner: Weaponry, Strength, Speed, and Durability (WSSD, or Walter Sullivan Steals Dudes if you want a bad tribute to Silent Hill).
So, for the weaponry section, I’ll give it to Samus for the sheer fact that she never runs out of ammo, she has a wider array of weapons than Master Chief, and her weapons appear to be more destructive than the weapons that Master Chief carries. It also appears that the ability to carry 255 missiles and can rapid fire them trumps anything that chief has anyway.
Before I start however, I might want to list the debate rules I go by when I try to determine a winner. I’m not forcing anyone to follow these rules, but I am showing you them so that you can get an idea of where my argument comes from:
“Guidelines for Objective and Open-Minded Debate (G.O.O.D.)”
All of these rules are subject to being stated null or void by the thread creator, and ONLY by the thread creator, at the beginning of the thread.
Neutrality
Assume that the battleground is neutral, with physics allowing the use of any character’s abilities, but eliminating any skill or item that requires a specific area, opponent, or time, or type of fight to be activated or used.
Assume damage will be a constant. Between different health value systems, treat damage as a relative value. This does not negate established immunities, barriers, or shielding against attack types.
Items
Assume that the character is equipped with the best of his or her equipment. In the case of inventory items in RPG style, it is up to the thread creator to choose what they are given, or if they are given anything.
Assume that there are no items or power-ups laying around the battlefield for either character to pick up or use, unless there are items or power-ups for BOTH characters to use.
Sources
The original, canonical source will have precedence over any secondary or non-canon sources in the case of discrepancies. If there is a novel based on a game, and the novel’s version of the hero conflicts with the version seen in the game, the game holds precedence.
You must state what source you are using for your evidence. Should no evidence exist to either prove or disprove an argument, logic and neutral physics and reasoning will be used.
Assistance
Assume that the only characters in the battle are the ones stated by the topic creator, and that any assistance to a character from outside sources will immediately result in a forfeit.
This includes, but is not limited to, party members and summons, as well as abilities that require the help of a party member or other character to use.
The Start of the Fight
Assume that each character is starting with full health. Any energy bars which recharge automatically will also be full. Any energy bars which start off empty in the game and must be charged through either combat or an item will start off empty.
Assume that neither character has previous knowledge of their opponent’s skills or abilities, but do start off with knowledge that their opponent exists and that they must fight, regardless of situation or personality.
Assume that a character’s skill is at a level they should be at, based off of existing evidence, and that an outside “player” is not a factor. For the sake of the topic, these are real people, not played characters.
The End of the Fight
The fight is won when a character has killed their opponent, removed their opponent from battle, or incapacitated the opponent to the degree that they cannot continue fighting. Resurrection is not an option. When a character has died, they have lost, whether they can be resurrected or not.
If a character retreats from battle, either to another area or another time period, they forfeit the battle.
In order to avoid time paradoxes, a character is never allowed to travel back in time to kill their opponent when they were a child, because if they did that, the opponent would never have existed, thus negating the need to go back in time, so the character would never have done it, which would mean the opponent was not killed so the battle is happening anyways.
For the strength section, even though Samus is augmented to be very strong, I will give it to Cheif. I will, however, point out that such an attribute is useless. Why? Lets think about this logically: are you going to grapple someone in a gunfight? No, it is rather pointless to do so, especially if point-blank blows from hugs statues made of stone (probably equaling several tons anyway) don’t seem to do that much damage. Another reason this is useless is because Samus is far more agile than Master Chief, making most of his attacks useless anyway. So, even though Chief is stronger, it really is a moot point because you aren’t going to grapple in a gunfight.
Speed. Samus can run at mach1. Chief can not. Simple as that. To those of you who say that Chief can react faster than Samus, I’ll say this: she remains comfortably cognizant at mach speed. This means that she reacts faster than than your silly ’shoot her in the head instantly’ tactic. Also, while I’m on that subject, I might bring up that your whole ‘aim-dead’ argument is silly too because the bullet needs to travel through the air. So, its more like ‘aim-pull trigger-travel through air” than that. Seriously, if he could aim and they die, then he would have to have a gun that fires bullets capable of superluminous speeds.
Durability is a hotly debated issue, but I don’t think it really matters who survived what, considering that they don’t have an atmosphere to fall through. It might also be mentioned that those where ‘lucky’, as fans are so fond of saying. However, there will be no deus ex machina in this match, so chances of getting ‘lucky’ shots are reduced to none. Also considering my previous durability arguments, I’m not sure Master Chief is durable enough to win this fight. I call durability in favor of Samus.
So, in conclusion (and not summarization, that would defeat the purpose of this post. I wanna see your eyeballs sweat when you read this!) I don’t think there is much Master Chief can do to Samus, while conversely there is much Samus can do to Master Chief to do him in, and I’m sure you’ll see it my way too if you read this entire post, but I doubt many of you will. Some people don’t like to face the truth, I’m afraid.
Actually, at this point, I’m fairly sad that this isn’t longer than my ‘Link vs. Master Chief’ post, because I feel as if I put some work into this.. so sad.
- Excellent post!, FactPile Team.

I did initially suspect that Samus would win. After more review (including reading the previous post) I will definitely have to give it to her. Yes, MC is still my favorite. Great work End of Discussion.
March 19th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
Alex is right… chief is super strong, trained from youth…he would win….
BY the way..the moron who said cheif could be killed with a rocket is wrong. He has fallen from a pellican at HIGH altitudes and servived (crashed) (free fall) …One rocket my ass. Do some research on chief.
March 19th, 2008 at 5:36 pm
ALl you hardcore halo fans…the movie is in production
Peter jackson in charge
Neil Bloomkamp is the director
and their is an 8 min video on youtube from the halo movie (actual footage, which may be used for the acutal movie) go to youtube look up halo movie..look for vid. that is 8 min long
March 19th, 2008 at 9:32 pm
Dude, that 8 min video is a fake. They used the halo landfall video.
It has nothing to do with the halo movie that might or might not come into being.
March 24th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
cyberghost, have you played Halo? Rockets are one of the most dangerous weapons in the game. Why? Because they can kill almost anything in on hit, and the Chief is on that list. In one of the books, he was able to deflrct a missle at close range, but his armor was dissabled and he was temporarily removed of the strengths taht made him super.
March 24th, 2008 at 10:14 pm
And yes, chief had been trained starting at a young age. 6 to be precise. And though Samus was not trained at the age of six, she still has had more training than MC. Samus began fighting at age 4.
March 24th, 2008 at 10:14 pm
If your going to demand research be done, cybergohst, you had better site your own sources. Technically, HIGH altitude is about half a kilometer. In the game he just barely survived a 2 km fall, and had to be rebooted afterwards. I cant say how much of a fall Samus can survive, but i doesn’t matter; she can fly.
March 26th, 2008 at 11:13 am
If you read the ghosts of onyx, one of the spartans in a suit of mjolnir armor gets vaporized by a hunters gun. Samus could take several hits like that.
March 26th, 2008 at 11:28 pm
I say they would rather f#ck each other than fight…
yea…. i say mc would blow off her helm and mc would pull off his helm
and you get it….
March 30th, 2008 at 10:18 am
samus would kick mc’s #ss if you no what i mean samus is the best fighter i have seen - edited for language admin
April 3rd, 2008 at 1:44 pm
The official answer is:If they fight they mostlikely will do it of jealousy over each other. They will
mostlikely be able to beat each other. And when the world ends there will only be MC and Samus to start a new race of super humans.
April 8th, 2008 at 7:39 am
MC can Defeat anyone. just pull out the SCARAB GUN!!! blow th FXXX out of them! MC defeats every onejust like that easy as pie!!!
lol
April 9th, 2008 at 3:13 pm
THEY WOULD JUST HAVE IT
April 13th, 2008 at 3:19 am
Even match, or Samus gets a lucky shot with her cannon, but MC’s got to have something to match that. I don’t know much else about Samus, so even match for now.
April 14th, 2008 at 10:42 am
No way even match. Samus is way better armed. If master Chief could activate the halos without dying, then they might be more powerful than Smaus, but suicide doesn’t count as a victory. Chef’s most powerful weapon is the barel of a scorpion tank, but samu’s power bombs have equal if not greater power, greater radius, and in a smaller, more agile target.
April 15th, 2008 at 9:13 am
I would love to see what MC would do if he fell into phazon.
April 23rd, 2008 at 8:35 pm
if u want 2 c em face off truly goto youtube.com,then tipe in halo VS metroid prime.the ending sucks but the shootin n blastin is over the top! oh! once the results cum up then look 4 a vid calld HALOID,click on the vid n wach away! oh again! mc should win in my case
injoy the vid
April 25th, 2008 at 1:40 pm
They already fought… in bed. They were having fun when she got pregnant. You never saw the ending of Halo 2?!?!?! You know, when Chief cuts Arbiter’s hand off and says, “Arbiter, I am your Father”
“Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!”
April 27th, 2008 at 6:45 pm
Samus would own own his noob a$$! She could just shoot the ice beam and use him to get up to a higher platform.
April 29th, 2008 at 12:53 am
Was that a deleted scene. That might have been one of the fake Halo movie previews floating around.
May 6th, 2008 at 3:47 am
Samus by far. MC is just an above average soldier whereas samus is a super enhanched warrior.
May 12th, 2008 at 8:38 am
Samus fires missiles that lock on, meaning dodging is pointless, and in Halo, a missile or two, and it’s game over for masterchief.
Samus on the other hand, has numerous energy tanks, and could probably survive until masterchief runs out of ammo in whichever two guns he decides to use in this battle.
One of samus’s normal charged shots would probably take down masterchief’s shields with one hit.
And if masterchief gets too close, Samus can just screw him (with a screw attack, which will rip through his shields, and either just knock him out, or rip through his armour as well)
May 13th, 2008 at 4:39 pm
It’s blatantly obvious that most of the people who support the “MC pwns everything” stance have very little knowledge of Samus and the Metroid universe. Alos, the lack of basic knowledge of spelling and grammar is astonishing. Samus’ arsenal is massive, more massive than what people assume. It not only composes of basic weapons that would kill MC before he can draw a weapon - countless missiles and super missiles, plasma beam, power bombs - but includes some advance weapon upgrades such as the darkburst - the ability to summon a black hole anywhere near MC and suck him into oblivion - and the hyper mode phazon beam which would completely incinerate him before he could fall to the ground. Let’s not forget that Samus has no less than 20 energy tanks with energy tank reserves should those become depleted while MC has a scrawny little health shield that goes out after a few hits. She has lock-on, visors that can detect cloaked enemies and enemy heat signatures (thermal visor), assess weaknesses (scan visor), see and shoot through walls (X-ray visor and Nova beam) and even see between dimensions (dark visor). All this is only a portion of her arsenal. Give MC all of his weapons and he still wouldn’t stand a chance against the most basic Samus let alone a fully armored one.

May 21st, 2008 at 2:23 pm
All you people saying they would f#ck or some sh!t like that are obviously halo fanboys that know samus would totally beat the sh!t out of MC. I’ve played Halo & Metroid, frankly I think Halo is way overrated. A lot of you Halo fans obviously have never played a Metroid game or else you’d have more evidence to backup your BS views on who would win in a fight. I do agree that Samus has a great chance of losing if none had their suits because MC uses carried weapons, but when would that ever happen? - edited for language, admin
May 21st, 2008 at 2:46 pm
Also did any of you who played MP2 forget about the annihilator beam or the nova beam in MP3? And let’s not forget the special power ups like the sun burst which create a scorching sun, dark burst which creates a small blackhole, or the sonic boom. Of course there is always the various hypermode weapons. Still think MC would win fanboys?
May 21st, 2008 at 3:09 pm
Let me just ask you Halo fans something, why would it p!ss you off so much if MC was a chick like in the Haloid video? Does it really matter to you that much? Do you just prefer your heroes with 8=D s or what? Do you prefer them to be big hairy men? Just wondering, I mean who didn’t like the first Perfect Dark game(you play as a chick). I’d start questioning my sexuality if I were you. Believe me, I wrote this for your own good.
May 21st, 2008 at 4:55 pm
there is a video but instead off mc being a girl they would still do it probably
my gamertag is lx N0WH3R3 xl type in my name on myspace tv to watch my vids please comment
May 22nd, 2008 at 3:22 am
Y’know all sh!t talking aside, a game where they join together would be pretty badass. Wish it were possible. The closest we’ll ever get to a major crossover is Snake in smash bros. Combining the two series together would even beat out GTA4 & maybe COD4. Metroid=badass bosses Halo=badass vehicles Metroid=badass enemies Halo=badass multiplayer CONCLUSION: Halo + Metroid=One Badass Game. Who’s with me? Wow, I said badass a lot.
May 23rd, 2008 at 1:11 pm
IT’S ALL ON YOUTUBE!!!
May 24th, 2008 at 2:46 am
Well seeing you point I’m beginning to think more on the subject, but I belie I have to say the chief has more of a chance.
I state a few reasons,
1: He can use any weapon, vehicle, and device.
2: He has extreme knowledge on the battlefield, and of warfare.
3: He has superhuman strength
4: He managed to hold of all the flood on installation 04, take out an armada of Covenant, hold of setinals, cause a madcat explosion, and escaped it
5: At the age of 8 on a training mission he thought up a strategy, beat down men (actually un-uniformed UNSC personnel) with stones, and hijacked the dropship.
6: At the age of 14 he was given the mission to capture the rebel commander.
7: Had over 200 missions.
8: Personally nuked a planet.
9: Has had all medals except the POW medal.
10: Is the bravest and the luckiest of the spartans.
11: Jumps into space with holding live ordinance that could take out a capital cruiser, and leads it into a carrier,
destroys it, escapes, and lands on the Forward Onto Dawn.
12: Suvived 3 jumps, the Halo CE life pod (only survivor),
Halo 2 HEV pod (straight into the line of fire), Halo 3,
a forerunner door.
13: Plowed through hundreds of covies, with little difficulty.
14: Took down at least 6 scarabs single handedly, 2 of which he attacked at the same time.
15: Took back VOI.
16: Went to the center of a flood ship to recover what he thought was cortana.
17: Demolished the brutes on the Ark, disabled two of the shields leading to the center.
18: Reached truth with assistance from the flood.
19: killed the flood to retreat, helped by setinals.
20: Ran straight through High Charity, alone, the home to the flood, got cortana, and escaped after he had damaged High Charity.
21: Fought his way through a hailstorm of flood and reached the control center, where he killed 343.
22: drove all the way to the Forward On to Dawn, with the ground collapsing around him.
23: Survived halos activation, floated into a cryo pod.
24: He is known to have had a fight with ODSTs after they got pissed at being beat by someone younger. Angry the ODSTs used live ordinance, it is stated that the Spartan killed 3 of the ODSTs and severely injured one, and this was when he was still training.
I think these are reasons enough,
so what if Samus is invulnerable, can roll into a ball, and has built in weapons. I don’t really think she uses anything other than what her suit gives, the chief on the other hand, improvises and uses what he finds.
May 25th, 2008 at 9:13 pm
Can you really tell yourself that Samus does not improvise? In a couple of the games she finds herself without her suit…and what does she do there? She improvises.
Trust me, the match would be a closer battle than you Halo fans would think…
May 27th, 2008 at 9:54 am
i will admit that it would be a close fight and a have played both halo and metroid and have come to the conclution that they would never f#cking meet anyway so who gives a sh!t and copycat you’r anoying like hell dude STFU dammit. and samus isn’t stronger then mc and for the ppl who say she’l turn into a ball heres what I would do if she did that, play soccer with her serious like mc would lose to a ball. also samuses armour can be broken and mc is in actuality very fast and agile. he’s dumbed down in the game to make it more of a game if you always had his super strength a baby would be able to turn the game over on legendary one hit kills all the time not fun for a game dammit - edited for language, admin
May 27th, 2008 at 10:32 am
Rofl copter MC wins cause girls cant fight
May 27th, 2008 at 10:08 pm
Ummm, freeze beam, anyone? It has been proven that MC can be frozen with his armor on (Come on, he comes out of cryo-stasis in the first game!) So all Samus has to do is freeze the dude, Shoot a few super missiles (which can crack through solidly locked bulkheads, by the way,) at him, if that didn’t kill him, freeze him some more, repeat. And If she somehow runs out of super missiles, she can always use her 100+ regular missiles to blow himapart, while keeping him frozen. any questions?
May 30th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Wow, I think I silenced the fanboys. Cool.
May 31st, 2008 at 12:21 pm
Samus would win because she has boobs
May 31st, 2008 at 12:29 pm
You….ugh. How can master chief even see her boobs? Everyone and their dog thought that Samus was a Guy when they first played the game (unless you were told otherwise). So I’m pretty sure that chief would also think that Samus would be a guy. Sex shouldn’t be a factor here.
June 1st, 2008 at 3:25 pm
MasterChief knows that Samus is a girl because the arbiter told him while they were playing Super Smash Bros on Johns nintendo wii. (if u are sad enough to be on a “masterchief vs” forum you will probably know what im talking about)
June 1st, 2008 at 6:49 pm
Uhhhhhhh……wtf?
June 3rd, 2008 at 12:34 pm
oh samus can regenerate health after damage too btw :]
you can do it on super metroid, although it is only used when ALL ELSE FAILS.
June 3rd, 2008 at 7:15 pm
for any of you who said MC would win you obviously haven’t played any of the metroid games. samus can automatically download basically any technology anywere and second off, you who say ‘MC can wield anything and drive anything’ you’re an idiot, in the game how many weapons can you have at one time let me recall….. only TWO!!!!! samus can integrate her weapons and kick MC’s little green @$$! she can wield and obtain practically anything, she is most defiantly the victor.
June 3rd, 2008 at 7:25 pm
I have to agree with galinoth. Samus can shoot through walls, for crying out loud! Also, someone said that MC can win because he holds 2 guns, and samus has 1 gun. It has multiple weapons programmed into it. MC is genetically engineered and trained. So was Samus.
Those of you who who talk S*** about Samus saying it would be an easy win for MC have DEFINATELY never played Metroid.
June 4th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
June 5th, 2008 at 9:55 am
i’ve played metroid and i’ve read mc novels. you would never and i mean never want to fight him he would break you in half serious he does that to armored foes and he still tears them in two he’s deadly
June 5th, 2008 at 10:39 am
samus is little bicth MC would spank that #ss sooooooo bad she would yearn for his mighty ring and he be all like h3ll no biacth me no want aids THE END
June 5th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
i would hav to say samus would win even though i am a die hard halo fan 1. she has more firepower and more advance suit 2. she is far to overpowered and to far in future for mc to fight 3. samus would beat ironman
and mc is actually brave with or without his suit because
