What if…Mace Windu didn’t die in Episode III?

Would the Jedi Council still be intact?
Would Windu eventually face and/or defeat Darth Vader?
Would Yoda ever go to Dagobah?
Would purple colored lightsabers still be bad-ass?

AND WE ARE LIVE!!!!
And what better way to start this new section that with this massive connundrum? I also think that the ramifications of this single man not having been killed is of a much bigger impact than what might be thought initially.
Ill go so far as to sy that the Empire would have never come to be, or would have been very short lived. With Windu alive, Yoda and Obi-wan would not have gone into hiding. An offensive would have been mounted between these three. A sort of Shadow Council.
Together, they would have been capable of defeating both Vader and the Emperor.
I think it goes further and deeper than that, but Ill let other more knowledgeable SW fans put their 2 cents.
Well think, the only actual way that Mace would have survived is that either Vader wasn’t such a whiny pansy or that he also defeated Anakin. Either way the Emperor is dead and Anakin is either dead or still Anakin (Plus the Jedi won the war and are “all” alive since Order 66 wasn’t…ordered). So ideally, Padme would have survived the twins would have grown up in the Jedi temple and known their father, etc, etc, etc.
What we can expect after this point in infinite….however it would have made a possibly less cool episodes 4, 5, and 6…..
The Jedi would have lived. The Sith would be destroyed. Like Alpha Commando said Anakin may live, andhe could’ve learned to control his emotions and stayed a jedi instead of being corrupted. The Clones would still work for the Republic. Actually what I said earlier, Anakin would have survived because he had mixed emotions about:
1. Padme’s safety
2. his anger towards the council for not trusting him.
Mace Windu said that Anakin would have his trust if what he said about Palpatine is true. Mace Windu’s influence alone could bring him to the rank of Master. The threat within quite a few years would be over, BUT the Sith would eventually rise again although they would not have the clones on their side. The Sith rose at first due to jedi letting emotions get the best of them, using the force as a weapon, just having a lust for power. That’s how dark jedi rose in the firstplace. They then went to the planet that the original sith lived on. The Sith were an alien species that the dark jedi enslaved. The dark jedi then became known as “Sith Lords”. They were eventually known as Sith, but their masters were still known as Sith Lords. Now that I gave a speech on the sith’s history, you all know that the Sith would eventually rise.
Instead of Luke and Leia exploring the galaxy with Han Solo in the Millenium Falcon, dodging TIE fighters and taking shots at the Empire and ultimately going on to produce one of the most engrossing tales in Human history; we would have had one of the least necessary trilogies produced since the Matrix.
For Mace to survive he would have to strike down the Emperor during his arrest; and possibly curtail or kill Anakin before he sways towards the Dark side. Therefore there would be no Empire, no uprising and the prophecy would never be fulfilled; which would no doubt anger the force in so many ways that it would have to alter the entire timeline somehow as to destroy the Jedi either way.
If Mace would have just struck down the Sidious before or as Anakin walked into the room Anakin would have never swayed to the dark side he would have just worried until he realized Padme survives.
Let me explain the “Shadow Council” scenario I was thinking of.
While engaging Sidious, Mace sensed the approaching Anaking and readied himself for the exange (perhaps even tapping into the Force to catch a glimpse of the possible outcomes). After Skywalker gets to the senator’s chambers and starts to engage the Jedi Master, Windu makes a full retreat and jumps out the window (safely, of course).
Outraged by the Jedi’s escape, Sidious still manages to prod Anakin to the Dark Side while activating Order 66 before Windu alerts the other Jedi. Many Jedi still fall, but a good number survive the cataclismic event as they were not actively interacting with the clones.
The survivors of 66 manage to go into hiding and rendevous, while palpatine starts to build his empire.
Now.
I think this scenario is not so farfetched, and while it might alter all that we know of episode 4 and onward, things might still reflect a struggle.
Anakin and Obi-wan may still face-off, possibly with the same outcome.
The twins may still be split after Padme’s death.
The Rebelion would still be formed, with the few surviving Jedi at the helm.
Fearful of the Jedi still running loose, Palpatine may still be actively recruiting promissing Sith instead of keeping things close with just him and Vader.
Vader may still be resentful, and while still having the secret Starkiller, he may also be the Sith Lord training the Emperor’s prospects.
Too many other fine details to think of right now, but still quite an interesting story.
And for the record.
Purple never stopped being bad-ass!
If Mace Windu doesn’t die (and we’re not even 100% certain he actually DID die) in III, then I think he would just have done what the other Jedi did and run and hide… probably in Brooklyn or South Philly or something, just to blend in. He could hook up with Travolta and be a real bad ass.
mace windu would have klled darth vader himself, not but really.
windu could have been travelling with ben kenobi or something, all i can think of.
if the emperor didnt kill him boba fett would eventually because as it has said in comics boba hated mace
If mace hadnt died vader would have shown up after being put back together by the empire and given us the fight we all expected in ep3
Hey admins when will a new what if come out???
If Mace hadn’t died, Vader wouldn’t have existed and in his place the most powerful jedi, Anakin (at his peak) would fight off any arisisng threat.
maby he dident die
maby when he flew out the window, maby he caught on to a passing speeder\ship. and went in to hiding hummmmm
lol
ummm i thought he didn’t die and that he was raised back as a dark jedi and was killed by someone. ill check back later.
If Mace would have survived it would mostly if not all be the same. He probobly would have been arrested for attempted murder and or killed by someone else. Order 66 would have still happened and mabye, just mabye Mace would have survived and went on to lead a rebelion and ultimately kill Darth Vader and Palpatine. But the Jedi would still be weak and Luke would have never found out who he was, or mabye he would have…
