Tony Stark Vs Lex Luthor

Tony Stark Vs Lex Luthor

Suggested by Zach Thoroman via Facebook

Arriving from Marvel we have Tony Stark facing off against Lex Luthor from DC Comics.

While neither need an introduction, for the sake of this match there will be various scenarios to determine a winner.

Scenario 1:
As depicted in the images, both men are in a drinking contest. At the end of each round they must answer a question posed by the other. First one with an incorrect answer loses.

Scenario 2:
After the drinking game is over they escalate the challenge to an arm wresting contest. Who wins that?

Scenario 3:
The loser of the arm wrestling contest challenges the other to meet in one week on top of Madison Square Garden in New York City. Who would walk away from that fight?

Scenario 1: Tony Stark? Drinking? PAHAHAHA. Yeah no, Lex wins that one. Mainly because Tony would down 10 bottles in the time it would take Lex to have one glass.

Scenario 2: Arm wrestling…honestly, neither of these guys are known for physical strength. Tony apparently trains with Cap, while Lex has been trained by Amazons…Lex might have a slight edge.

Scenario 3: I take it they’re armoured up for this…what’s Tony’s current armour model?

    What he said.

    1. Tony. He is a drinking machine. Though it is possible Lex can stump him right off the bat.
    2. Tony. Only if it is N52. Otherwise I’ll take Lex. I don’t know of any strength of him post-52.
    3. Lex. His armor is made to fight Superman.

  4. Soldier's Shadow July 4, 2013 at 10:15 am -      #4

    1) Stark.

    -

    2) I’d like to say Lex pre reboot but I’m not sure that’s the case here. Yet.

    -

    3) Not too familiar with what Lex’s armor could do, but what’s current for Tony?

  5. GuardianAngel1911 July 4, 2013 at 12:25 pm -      #5

no idea on scenario 1. Though Tony has gotten better at controlling his drinking….
    -
Scenario 2. Current Tony has mild Superhuman strength now, Lex is still just a guy, who regularly has his ass handed to him by superhumans when he wears his battle armor, this time he doesn’t have the armor so he walks away from this cradling a broken arm.
    -
One Week? Tony puts together the Infinity Gauntlet and bitch slaps Lex (the Illuminati have the gems, he’s one of the main members, he calls everyone up says he needs to borrow them to make a point to some bald chump or something.)
    -
Assuming he doesn’t do it though, remember that scene in Iron Man 3 where 42 or so Armors showed up to kick ass? Multiply that by at least 2 and make them all 100 ton range weapons of mass destruction.
which he can control at once at a min distance of 700 light years with no known limit yet.
    -
his current armor is the Godkiller images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130102194025/marveldatabase/images/8/8a/Anthony_Stark_%28Earth-616%29_with_Space_Armor_MK_III_from_Iron_Man_Vol_5_6_cover.jpg
his most powerful armor to date with a massive power source and more firepower and power period than his old armors, and he’s been able to hold his own with Thor tier buildings since a little before Extremis, Bleeding Edge came to a draw with a being in that tier, and now has a more powerful reactor than Bleeding Edge did.
    -
I don’t know what Luthor’s current battlesuit is but if his heads still exposed Tony does what he did against the Armor Knights of the Round Table (long Story) casually pretends to fight then blasts a laser through the shield he was looking at the whole time to figure out the best way to beat it. Such as lasers that are on frequencies the shield doesn’t cover.

    Tony takes it all.
    -
And then talks to Lex about how being arch-nemeses with one of the most OP superheroes ever made maybe wasn’t a good career move.

  7. Soldier's Shadow July 4, 2013 at 12:51 pm -      #7

Why would Tony amass all those suits and the Infinity Gauntlet just to fist fight a chrome dome sore loser on top of Madison Square Garden? Wouldn’t that be pushing things just a weee bit?

    -

Prep time exists in varying amounts of brokenness with people like Lex and Stark among others.

  8. GuardianAngel1911 July 4, 2013 at 12:58 pm -      #8

just to reiterate if Tony really wants to fuck Luthor’s day he does this
    imageshack.us/a/img852/2919/avengers12oroboroscps02.jpg
    -
can likely hack Lex’s suit, or hack Lexcorp files to find out about it. Considering he did this to Dr. Doom.
    imageshack.us/a/img830/9559/tonydoomhack1.jpg
    -
    @Soldiers Shadow
to be honest I’m just pointing out that if this turns into who’s got a prep time measuring contest Infinity Gauntlet and army of armors basically trumps anything Lex can get in a week that I know of. So was basically just killing the he preps this no he preps this arguments before they began.
Would he definitely pull it out, no, can he pull it out, yes.
    -
plus Tony’s weapons seem pretty good at hurting Ulik, a guy who fights Thor all the time.

Tony survived a full force point blank lightning blast from Thor, got up and told him to do it again so they could do what they wanted, which was channel Thor’s lightning magic into an attack, a perfect balance of magic and science.

Iron Man puts down Red Hulk, and also says he’s not sure if he’s ever been able to go full force on Hulk before….just an interesting fact.

    It’s Tony… why wouldn’t</i? he?

  12. GuardianAngel1911 July 4, 2013 at 2:00 pm -      #12

It’d be funny just to see the look on Lex’s face when Tony showed up.
Lex: You have more than one battle suit?
Tony: yeah, also *puts last gem in Infinity Gauntlet* I win.
    Lex: Uncle?
Tony: Nope, your going down, besides, I already bought your company, you’ve got nothing now.
    *pwnage ensues*

  13. Asger July 4, 2013 at 2:28 pm -      #13

Yeah, Tony’s kinda an ass like that.

For everything else, there’s Doctor Doom.

  14. Aelfinn July 4, 2013 at 2:44 pm -      #14

Are people really assuming that Tony can assemble the Infinity Gauntlet? Wasn’t the whole point of separating the pieces, you know, to make sure no one person could bring them together for their own gain? Under what conditions would Tony be allowed to do this?
    -
Anyway, Lex fights Superman in his suit, so unless Tony goes blow-for-blow with a Superman-tier character, I don’t see the fight turning out well for him.

  15. GuardianAngel1911 July 4, 2013 at 2:47 pm -      #15

    Who Tony hacked…
Don’t get me wrong Lex can put up a good fight, it’s just given a week for both of them to pull out their biggest guns…..Tony’s is bigger.
    -
though he has hurt Ulik on more than one occasion.

That reactor has now been replaced by a more powerful model.
And as a Guardian of the Galaxy he has access to their universal teleportation technology.

  16. GuardianAngel1911 July 4, 2013 at 2:52 pm -      #16

    @Aelfinn
Thor, Ulik, that member of the Fallen….these are beings that are superman tier and these are beings Tony has fought against so I see it turning out very good for him. Considering he cut through the head of one of those beings like a hot knife through butter, very good indeed.

  17. Kyuuketsuki July 4, 2013 at 2:53 pm -      #17

    Lex Luthor

  18. Asger July 4, 2013 at 2:54 pm -      #18

They’re kind of inconsistent on whether or not Tony can hack Victor’s armour.

    static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/9/91339/3017679-doomarmor50-hackingdefensemightyave.jpg

And I wouldn’t put it past Victor to steal the HoTU wit the enough time. No matter how impossible, Doom could pull that shit off. Especially when he’s armed with enough plot.

one more scan on it, but I’m pretty sure Lex can’t keep moving without the top of his head….and I’m not sure he’s ever fought someone on Superman tier that was going for the kill, which is what’s so great about these Fear Itself Scans, the Worthy was going all out, going for the kill.
One more scan in this bundle coming next.

  20. GuardianAngel1911 July 4, 2013 at 3:12 pm -      #20

    arousinggrammardotcom.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/ironmangreygargoyle18.jpg
Both of them were equally fucked up by the end of the fight, something I doubt Lex can say when Superman stops being a big blue boyscout in their fights.

  21. GuardianAngel1911 July 4, 2013 at 3:14 pm -      #21

And for the record, again, his armor’s shields durability power output etc have gone up since Fear Itself

  22. Aelfinn July 4, 2013 at 3:20 pm -      #22

There’s a difference between pushing back strong beings and delivering planet-busting blows. Admittedly, that applies to Lex as well, but he’s able to do this:

  23. Asger July 4, 2013 at 3:24 pm -      #23

THAT’S the new power suit?! Holy shit that looks fucking awesome. Okay New 52, you did one thing right. Shame everything else was sodomised because of it…

Does that suit have other feats?

  24. GuardianAngel1911 July 4, 2013 at 3:24 pm -      #24

    @Aelfinn
I was about to say I don’t think Lex has ever busted a planet with his fist armored or otherwise.
    -
As to the scan…not to take away from it but aren’t Lex’s weapons generally either red sun radiation and kryptonite or powered by kryptonite or something….like 99 times out of 100 which is why he’s able to fight Superman? I admit I haven’t kept up with his armor but I always thought his armor was specialized to fight Kryptonians.

  25. GuardianAngel1911 July 4, 2013 at 3:26 pm -      #25

also I agree with Asger Lex’s new suit is badass. Probably the best wardrobe change I’ve seen in New 52 so far.

  27. GuardianAngel1911 July 4, 2013 at 3:35 pm -      #27

that energy blade looks very much like kryptonite energy…could be wrong though, but just going off the fact that Lex had a lot of time with Superman on his autopsy table to study the Kryptonians strengths and weaknesses, he likely tailor made the suit to kick his ass….not that I’m complaining about the spectacle though

  28. Soulerous July 4, 2013 at 3:37 pm -      #28

One thing I don’t understand about these power suits is how those inside somehow grow longer limbs and broader shoulders to fit the suit’s proportions.

  29. GuardianAngel1911 July 4, 2013 at 3:40 pm -      #29

I can’t speak for the likes of Space Marine armor, or really for Lex’s since I don’t know the new suit well, but his at least it seems there’s a secondary exoskeleton under the main armor which can likely expand and mimics Lex’s movements, that or there’s a cockpit in the torso and head region similar to the Crimson Dynamo in Iron Man Armored Adventures.

  30. Aelfinn July 4, 2013 at 3:43 pm -      #30

Oh, I don’t keep up with comics at all. But I felt Lex was getting under-represented. Anyway, that certainly doesn’t appear to be kryptonite-stuff hurting Superman.
    -
    static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/13/130506/3091795-lex2.png
    -
    Just another scan.
    -
I’m having a bit of trouble finding stuff for him, though, so if FP could help me a little bit…?

  31. GuardianAngel1911 July 4, 2013 at 3:51 pm -      #31

The red stuff could be red solar beams, he had Superman under a microscope for a while, he knows what powers Superman, so it’s likely he knows what depowers him.
    -
Mostly I’m just focusing on the third round though since I don’t know who wins the first and Tony being superhuman wins the second it’s the deciding round.
    -
One thing though, we don’t know how much Superman holds back against someone like Lex or against people period, but the Worthy is more like Black Adam, we know it’s not pulling the punches. Just saying. Still they seem pretty even, energy blades that ignore the durability of people with planet+ level durability, powerful energy attacks, etc.
    -
If you can find any are there scans of Lex absorbing energy attacks? I need to find them but I know Tony has, could be the ability that tips the scales here.

  32. Aelfinn July 4, 2013 at 4:03 pm -      #32

The force field that was said to cut superman in half may be kryptonite, though. As I said, I don’t know for sure. Although, Lex appears to be space-capable.

    1. Isn’t Tony one of those high fucntioning alcoholics. Didn’t he use to science it up while being drunk.. Tony might have the advantage there.
    ===
    2. Going to go with Tony only because he doesn’t spend time in solitary confinement doing mostly plotting like Lex does. Tony’s meanwhile actively maintains himself physically as well as due life putting him in these situations.

That’s PreN52 though so not sure how canon. Though it would at least make sense with the new one since it has a helmet.

true, though the Arc Reactor also gives him enhanced strength on top of the fact that he regularly exercises.

also interesting thing “Rigellian Recorder 451 used Kree technology to genetically engineer Tony when he was still unborn, in order to create the ultimate genius who would uplift humanity, by modifying his thought process rather than enhancing his intelligence, in order to make him think differently and more practically compared to other known genius like Black Panther, Mr. Fantastic or Dr. Doom.” Iron Man from images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130531211323/marveldatabase/images/0/06/Iron_Man_Vol_5_11.jpg this comic.

think Tony would likely break Lex’s arm in the arm wrestling fight? Would that affect Lex’s ability to pilot his suit?

  42. BC July 4, 2013 at 4:37 pm -      #42

“ one more scan on it, but I’m pretty sure Lex can’t keep moving without the top of his head….and I’m not sure he’s ever fought someone on Superman tier that was going for the kill, which is what’s so great about these Fear Itself Scans, the Worthy was going all out, going for the kill. “
    -
He has, though the current one may not remember it with all the reboots and nonsense like that. He fought Superman who was in a killing rage and killed him with a trap. DCOU took that branch and ran with it to create the background for their game. Luthor does not fight fair at all.
    -
    -
“ As to the scan…not to take away from it but aren’t Lex’s weapons generally either red sun radiation and kryptonite or powered by kryptonite or something….like 99 times out of 100 which is why he’s able to fight Superman? I admit I haven’t kept up with his armor but I always thought his armor was specialized to fight Kryptonians. “
    -
Kryptonite has a lot of energy so it is a good powersourse if the faint leakage is not a problem so it is good for powering weapons to use against non-Kryptonians as well. While Luthor does fight Superman or other Kryptonians a lot he really has an aggression problem when it comes to all aliens and so he has fought quite a few of them that do not have any particular problem with Kryptonite and won.
    -
“ that energy blade looks very much like kryptonite energy…could be wrong though, but just going off the fact that Lex had a lot of time with Superman on his autopsy table to study the Kryptonians strengths and weaknesses, he likely tailor made the suit to kick his ass….not that I’m complaining about the spectacle though “
    -
It probably is, kryptonite reactors are his thing much like how ARC reactors are Starks thing. The fact that it is a force field blade with an edge sharper than any material one can be honed to would make it deadly to anyone, not just Kryptonians. A Star Wars lightsaber does not rely on the target being especially vulnerable to whatever energy it is to work just because it is energy for instance.
    -
“ One thing I don’t understand about these power suits is how those inside somehow grow longer limbs and broader shoulders to fit the suit’s proportions. “
    -
It would probably something like the illustrations in the links below:
    farm1.static.flickr.com/42/90006053_103a0fad5e_o.jpg
    farm1.static.flickr.com/71/174104422_16833952d0_o.jpg
or if those links do not work just think of how the pilot goes into a Queadlunn-Rau suit or even just how they do tall monsters in Hollywood using tall shoes, shoulder buildups, and planet of the apes style arm extenders. The Rifts book itself has a good cutaway view of Glitterboy armor that shows the pilots foot on an assembly similar to a high heeled shoe that sits a little ways above the knee joint assembly (the Glitterboy armor is about 10.5 feet tall but the idea that the pilots limbs do not reach all the way to the end is the same).

able to scan armors while on the move
    imageshack.us/a/img253/7550/im5ii3.jpg
would prove useful for finding a chink in Lex’s armor.
    -
also…Tony knows where Excalibur is, owns the lake in fact, his armor merged with it once and likely could again
    imageshack.us/a/img244/8576/imex9pj5.jpg
and when he had that…well if he didn’t want to be hurt by something, then that something couldn’t hurt him….plus it gave him magic attacks and shit.

    @BC
for the record I was asking about the Kryptonite and red sun stuff more because both weaken Superman to a more manageable level than his peak form. We don’t know how weak Superman was from exposure to those energies, according to Lowk he was down to the classic era before he could even fly levels. Could be worse or not that bad.
    -
On the other hand the being in that tier Tony fought he fought evenly without it being weakened. I have no doubt Kryptonite is an effective power source, if you can keep it from giving you cancer

I would suggest chess, but I don’t know how good Lex is at it and one board is too easy for Tony.
    -
so right now…no idea on round 1 (on my part at least), Tony breaks Luthor’s arm in round 2, and round three is still up for grabs really since both have fucked with gods and came out no worse for wear than said gods.

so here’s the fight with Magneto, shows some good durability (survives 170 tons of rubble being slammed on top of him) and interesting prep weapons for the occasion, the Jupiter Satellite is the one that’s useful here but still it’s all there.

•He has an Orange Lantern ring.

  69. GuardianAngel1911 July 5, 2013 at 10:44 am -      #69

Even if he had been a Black Lantern New 52 retconned that.
Don’t know about the Orange Ring though.

  70. Karen Starr July 5, 2013 at 11:45 am -      #70

N52 didn’t retcon Blackest Night, and Lex had an orange ring. The key word being HAD. Select characters got rings for 24 hours to help during Blackest Night. WW got sapphire(which is BS), Barry Allen got a blue ring, Lex got an orange ring, Scarecrow got yellow, The Atom got indigo, Mera got red. These rings were all temporary and they didn’t get to keep the power. (Interesting note though, Scarecrow was supposed to be an actual yellow lantern but his ring was destroyed by a couple Green lanterns before it could reach him.)

    ——-

He was never a Black Lantern though, his son was the only Luthor to get a ring.

  71. GuardianAngel1911 July 5, 2013 at 11:47 am -      #71

I thought Blackest Night happened before the Flashpoint Event.
    -
So he no longer has the orange ring?

  72. Karen Starr July 5, 2013 at 11:55 am -      #72

it did but DC says it still has happened as a main event in the history of the Nu52.

    —-

Yeah they only got to keep the rings for a limited time, and they had to bribe the hell out of Larfleeze just to get him to let Lex have the ring for that small amount of time.

  73. Karen Starr July 5, 2013 at 11:58 am -      #73

DC is cherry picking which bits of the old history still happened in their new history. COIE still happened, Blackest night stuff like that. Death of Superman apparently is out though.

  74. GuardianAngel1911 July 5, 2013 at 12:04 pm -      #74

    Okay my bad.
    -
I had figured they just gave him one of the construct rings since there’s only one, but that works too.
    Still weird.
So Lex only has the two armors he can grab up in a week, Tony has….an army of armors, a satellite mecha, Excalibur, he owns Area 51 and who knows what the fuck is in there.

  75. BC July 5, 2013 at 12:21 pm -      #75

I do not know what they did to Lex in New52 (I hate rewinds and stopped reading DC because of them a while ago) and so the only the only things I have to go on are the old version and the DCOU version but unless his business empire had a massive crash he has about as many resources as Stark. Sure only two suits at once but he uses traps and automated weapons systems quite often, and with a week to set up he could have a lot of nasty surprises for Stark.
    -
It would probably be simpler to dump all of the extra gear from this debate and concentrate on the two combatants and just the suit they are wearing for the battle. With all the time to prepare all sorts of theoretical nastiness and no limit on the amount of hardware WWIII would look like a wet firecracker by comparison with these two going all out with everything they can get together on relatively short notice.

  76. GuardianAngel1911 July 5, 2013 at 12:24 pm -      #76

Okay so Lex and his suite vs Tony in the godkiller armor and the Mark 40 liquid metal armor (current Tony is controlling both around the same time one while in the Guardians and controlling the other so Iron Man has a presence on earth) so just current armor it’s two on one. Plus Tony keeps an arsenal with him at all time now.

  77. Kara Zor-El July 5, 2013 at 1:26 pm -      #77

What’s Tony’s limit on hacking? As far as I know he’s pretty damn good and fast, could he hack Lex’s suit?

  78. GuardianAngel1911 July 5, 2013 at 1:29 pm -      #78

his limit….uhm…I don’t know. He’s hacked Doom tech before. Has alien tech now. His limit might be Galactus’s ship for all I know.

  79. GuardianAngel1911 July 5, 2013 at 1:31 pm -      #79

also is the shield on Lex’s suit light permeable?

fun fact it’s now because the arc reactor has enhanced him.

  82. OberHerr July 5, 2013 at 9:49 pm -      #82

If Tony has some kryptonite, could he in theory take on Superman? That would be a fun match. Tony Stark and Lex Luthor, with maybe a week of prep time, vs Superman.

  83. GuardianAngel1911 July 5, 2013 at 10:09 pm -      #83

theoretically anyone with Kryptonite can, I’d say Tony given time to study Kryptonian physiology might even have a better chance than Lex usually does, no offense to Lex’s battle suit of course, but Tony’s seems to be on a different level as far as overall capabilities and usefulness.

  84. OberHerr July 5, 2013 at 10:13 pm -      #84

Lex’s biggest problem is that he’s a villain. If he was a hero he would probably be on Tiny Stark’s level of tech/gear, especially if he didn’t have Superman as his arch-nemesis.

  85. GuardianAngel1911 July 5, 2013 at 10:22 pm -      #85

actually the problem is, Lex’s power source powers the suit.
Tony’s powers his brain, it makes him think faster, clearer, more. The more energy to the brain the better the brain works, Tony just replaces his last arc reactor with a new one that’s more powerful. The last one was as powerful as a man made star. Think about how much energy is powering Starks brain in that case. Tony’s brain is a Modern Sports car, Lex’s is a model T as far as efficiency and power goes. Or if you prefer, Lex is running on double A’s Tony is running on a couple nuclear reactors.
That’s why Tony can do the shit he can with tech now, why he can make liquid metal armors, why he moved to outer space, because earth is for people, and his brain is beyond human now.

  86. OberHerr July 5, 2013 at 10:28 pm -      #86

………and a little comic book logic in there too. :P
    -
I’m sure Lex would be doing some of that stuff too if he wasn’t the bad guy. Poor chum got stuck with one of the most OP superheroes ever(yes, I get there are some other more OP superheroes) as his arch-nemesis.
    -
But I didn’t actually know that was the case with the arc reactor. I’ve found this site teaches me a lot about……well granted mostly useless info, but it still is fun.

  87. Aelfinn July 5, 2013 at 10:38 pm -      #87

“The more energy to the brain the better the brain works, ”
    -
That’s not… entirely accurate. At least, in the real world. I could probably type a very long explanation about the relationship between energy and brain power but the main point is that more energy does not automatically mean more brain-power. Especially when you’re talking about individual humans. Especially when shooting electricity into the brain would just mess it up. Yes, the nervous system communicates with electricity, but electricity does not power human beings. A series of specific chemicals do (which I could go on another tangent about), but you can’t just hook your brain up to a battery and think better.
    =
    But, fuckin’ comic books man.

  88. GuardianAngel1911 July 5, 2013 at 10:38 pm -      #88

yeah, well currently it does, the current model is plugged in extra well apparently. So Tony’s body is powered by it making him stronger…faster….better. Not much mind you, above Captain America maybe even with Black Panther…not really sure. Maybe Ultimate Cap level.
If Lex tried to plug Kryptonite into his chest I don’t think it would end well for his vital organs.
    -
And yeah he has Superman to deal with, but he could always go hero….then again the nearest Iron Man copies are Batman….who apparently doesn’t think battle armor can be nonleathal and Cyborg who….at best is a very very cheap version of Extremis Iron Man with a teleporter program in (then again Tony has had teleporters at times…and does now in fact.) no offense to Cyborg he just….he’s so much less than Iron Man on his worst day. Hell really he’s worse than Lex on his worst day. 4 ton strength only slightly superhuman speed, fairly low end compared to most of the League, and if he tries to lift 5 tons he can blow his circuitry

  89. GuardianAngel1911 July 5, 2013 at 10:42 pm -      #89

    @Aelfinn
pretty much, I wouldn’t have said that otherwise. I don’t know why but then again I don’t know anyone who’s plugged something putting out as much power as the sun into their chest either.

Peppers isn’t like Tony’s though so the blast is less focused.
Not that it should come to that in arm wrestling though.

  91. OberHerr July 5, 2013 at 11:21 pm -      #91

Yeah, I seriously doubt with all the other stuff you’ve posted Tony even needs to use the reactor to beat Lex in round 2.
    -
And as for the actual suit battle……sounds like Tony stomps. Especially with prep time.
    -
Dang, Ironman/Tony Stark is kinda OP.

But, that’s what happens when your around long enough in comics.

Stark may or may not have been somewhat genetically engineered a bit. It was to help him survive being born but the guy that did it put in some extra stuff. He’s still was just human just slightly modified. I mean until the incident that lead to him being ironman. then he was technically a cyborg.

  93. GuardianAngel1911 July 5, 2013 at 11:39 pm -      #93

well they made him think more practically, I actually posted the information and comic issue above. They enhanced his thought process instead of intellect, so he thinks better than other geniuses.

  94. Aelfinn July 5, 2013 at 11:50 pm -      #94

“And as for the actual suit battle……sounds like Tony stomps. Especially with prep time.”
    -
Tony sounds like he has more Hax and overall preparedness, but if Lex is able to really put the hurt on Superman, I feel as if Lex’s damage output and combat speed may be higher. I don’t know who really wins, but I don’t think it’s a stomp for Tony.

  95. GuardianAngel1911 July 5, 2013 at 11:57 pm -      #95

striking strength is likely equal, combat speed I don’t know due to the whole Superman being weakened and not fighting at his max speed normally anyway. Granted Tony can tank blows from that tier due to the shield and armor durability period and it’s only gotten better.
    -
I agree not a stomp though.
Unless Lex’s suit has a light permeable shield.

  96. OberHerr July 5, 2013 at 11:57 pm -      #96

The thing is, putting the hurt on Superman always involves uses Kryponite-based weapons. Depending on the Superman, generally they don’t even have to be much stronger than capable of killing a human.

  97. OberHerr July 5, 2013 at 11:58 pm -      #97

I’m assuming we aren’t allowing Tony his over 9000 suits then? I assumed we still were.

  98. GuardianAngel1911 July 6, 2013 at 12:04 am -      #98

I’m talking just his two current armors, the one he uses as a Guardian of the Galaxy and the one he controls on earth from 700 light years away.

  99. Aelfinn July 6, 2013 at 12:12 am -      #99

“The thing is, putting the hurt on Superman always involves uses Kryponite-based weapons. ”
    -
Did it? Look at the scans I posted, and one shows Luthor straight punching Superman through a massive block of stone or something. No Kryptonite appeared to be being used. New 52 makes this more difficult for Lex, though, as he’s got few other feats.
    -
“Unless Lex’s suit has a light permeable shield.”
    -
You see, I don’t know. I’m more ignorant than a redneck when it comes to comics.

  100. GuardianAngel1911 July 6, 2013 at 12:19 am -      #100

well Lowk said he had been weakened by red sunlight before the laser injury scan (and I think all of that was in the same fight wasn’t it?), and the energy shield blade BC said was likely kryptonite.
granted I enjoy Superman getting the stuffing beat out of him now and again but Luthor in this canon does very intimately know Superman’s biology.
    -
Plus he thought a blood thirsty Thor tier stone god monster and survived the full force blows.
