Chaos Vs Lucifer

Suggested By Xeno Dementio

Today we have Chaos from Final Fantasy Dissidia going up against Lucifer from Dante’s Inferno.

Battlefield is a hybrid of the Edge of Madness and the Ninth Ring.

3 rounds:

1. Battle of followers. Who has the better minions?

2. Role reversal. Lucifer vs Warriors of Cosmos, Chaos vs Dante.

3. 1 v 1. Who would win? Chaos needs only re imprison Lucifer, not necessary to kill him.

Now i KNOW Hitmans doing it on purpose xD
    -
    Few edits…
For round one, assume the majority of the DI bosses are allied to Lucifer.
    -
For rounds 2 and 3, Lucifer gets both of his forms.
    -
and in round 3, IF Chaos is ABLE to kill Lucifer, then he MUST.
    Otherwise, imprisonment.

In the Dissidia universe, Chaos was pulling random villains from their universes.

Last I recall Chaos fought against 10 heroes of light and lost. Lucifer is defeated by one man. And Dante is not even stronger than any of the Heroes of Cosmos (I think).

true but didn’t chaos die when he was defeated? Lucifer didn’t, he just used dante to escape.

    What can Luci even do?

  15. Xeno Gabranth December 16, 2012 at 7:26 pm -      #15

Well, besides being Satan(a huge boon), he’s fairly quick and powerful in combat, using an array of fast, powerful fire attacks. He can also levitate/fly, is VERY intelligent, and his first form is a gigantic demon-body thing.

They needed the additional power of another god, Cosmos, to actually kill him, he’s been defeated in other timelines by the Warriors of Cosmos and came out relatively fine.

    -
Sounds interesting, but the two may have more feats from their sequels. Satan should show up in LoS2 while Lucifer may have another game coming up. The ending of his game does point to a sequel after all.

true, but for now at least they both have only one boss fights worth of feats.

“And Dante is not even stronger than any of the Heroes of Cosmos (I think).”
Dante is probably stronger than, say, Tidus, but Cloud is definitely way better, and I’d bet a few others like Terra and Zidane are up there too.
However, this only applies if we take the normal, original-verse versions of each of the Warriors of Cosmos. Their Dissidia versions are quie different. So I guess the question is; normal-verse versions, or Dissidia versions of the Warriors of Cosmos/Chaos?
    -
Also, does Feral Chaos make any appearance in this match, or are we sticking to purely the 12th/13th cycle version?

    They’re pretty alright.

Does it really matter? Feral Chaos is just a mindless version of the guy here with the same powers, unless there’s something I missed, he displays the same powers just in different forms.
    =
Unless Dante is way stronger than shown in the above vid, I’m thinking Chaos roasts him in his giant hands. Chaos has a huge mobility advantage over Lucifer too, it seems.

  33. The King of Games December 17, 2012 at 6:11 pm -      #33

There is no difference between the Dissidia versions and normal versions of charcaters just movesets because of gameplay.

“There is no difference between the Dissidia versions and normal versions of charcaters just movesets because of gameplay.”

No. Their bodies are not the same but their souls are, they have different moves because they don’t remember their original games, just the specific moves we see.

  35. The King of Games December 17, 2012 at 6:23 pm -      #35

Does it matter if the bodies are fake if the souls are the same.

“Does it matter if the bodies are fake if the souls are the same.”

Yes it does, certain Dissidia characters have/lack items/feats that their FF counterparts have in spades. The only character who is their FF counterpart is Garland.

  37. Xeno Gabranth December 17, 2012 at 6:42 pm -      #37

    What envoy says.
The villains are great examples of this.
I dont see Kefka blasting cities wot LoJ, Sephiroth becoming a seraphim, Kuja annihalating lanndscapes with ultima, Exdeath consuming worlds with the Void, etc.
Theyre all severely scaled down versions of themseves in Dissidia.

“So were ignoring the fact there is nothing stopping them from doing this expect PIS seeing how Ultimecia can still stop time whenever she wants and was planning to do that time compression thing.”
    +
That only means that she can do that. Dissidia Sephiroth can throw people into what appears to be the Sun, I don’t remember if it’s description says that though, but FF Seph cannot do that at all.
    +
How does Ultimecia’s time compress work in FFVIII anyway? I’m assuming it needs like 2+ discs of prep or something.
    +
Also the Chaos Reports in the first game tell us the warriors of both sides are mind-wiped for the cycles. To them, Dissidia-world is the only world they know. Even Chaos and Cosmos have gotten some of that.

Feral Chaos is way way more powerful, he killed every warrior(including his own) and went to challenge Dissidia Shinryu(He resets the cycles).

  48. Envoy December 18, 2012 at 4:24 pm -      #48

“isnt Warrior of Light in Dissida a manikin though?”
    +
Like Zazax said. Its implied that he isn’t. At the end of the first Dissidia he just walks into the first FF game, everyone else glows and disappears into their old games.
    +
Are Shantotto and Gabranth included here? They aren’t really part of the main story in Dissidia.
    =
Durring gameplay Cecil can only switch between jobs durring EX mode or specific attacks, but durring a cutscene he switches between them freely to defend and evade.
    +
There is also Chaos himself, as a boss he has no EX gauge and enters his limit break at any time, but when playing as Feral Chaos he somehow gets one. It could be argued that Feral Chaos is just weaker than his regular form, but how could could that be when he defeats all 20 summoned warriors and Cosmos consecutively?
    +
So yeah, EX mode should be a game mechanic and the FF:D characters should be able to use its attacks whenever they really want.
    =
    www.youtube.com/watch?v=eX6LS6TYQ94
    +
In the above video you can see that Shantotto’s magic is directly linked to her bravery levels but at 2:30 she uses her lowest spells in EX mode, then automatically jumps to her highest ones durring her limit break. If anyone thought bravery and the like isn’t a game mechanic, this should clear things up.
    =
The next video just shows that Chaos needs three defeats to actually be killed.

Reports 8-16 talk about the proces in which the mankins were made and how Chaos, Cosmos, and the Warrior of Light are the only perfect manikins.

  50. Tails111 December 19, 2012 at 12:51 pm -      #50

Based on the previous posts, I’m siding with Chaos.

  51. Envoy December 19, 2012 at 7:14 pm -      #51

“Feral Chaos is way way more powerful, he killed every warrior(including his own) and went to challenge Dissidia Shinryu(He resets the cycles).”
    +
In the Inward Chaos story in Dissidia Chaos has never lost a cycle and has aquired all 22 playable characters as pawns. Nowhere does it say he is stronger for winning, but it does say Shinryu amped him up, so I question Feral Chaos simply being stronger because he won a lot, the strength of the warriors in play could of changed. We also do not know if regular Chaos could have challenged Shinryu, he didn’t know about him until the end of the 13th cycle.
    +
If there is something that actually says Feral Chaos is stronger, could you please provide it?
    =
“Reports 8-16 talk about the proces in which the mankins were made and how Chaos, Cosmos, and the Warrior of Light are the only perfect manikins.”
    +
But they don’t, Record 001 and 002 say that both Cosmos and Chaos summon memories, one of them has a “strong will”, after each cycle the memories are reset, and three bodies have died.
    +
Record 004 has Cid saying he wants to make a Manakin as perfect as Cosmos, the way it was presented made it seem like he just loved Cosmos and held her in high regard, which he did. Plus you can’t have varying levels of perfect, he uses “…as perfect as Cosmos.” makes it seem like there are other types of “perfect” out there.
    +
Record 005-007 only goes over Cid’s failings in making a Manakin from his own memories, nothing about other characters. No 012 report actually says the warriors are direct rips from the games, just memories from beyond their universe. Nowhere is it said that Cid did not create the bodies for the summoned pawns, only that he failed in making one from his own memories.
    +
Unless there’s a cutscene that adds on the the reports I don’t see how they could be the actual characters from FF.
    =
Chaos can also transform into a giant magma form.

  52. The King of Games December 19, 2012 at 7:28 pm -      #52

All the reports talk about how all the manikins ever made are failures and even changed the origin of the manikins making it immpossible for everyone to be manikins. They are made from a rare ore that they had very little of. If they keep talking about how they kept failing then how can the characters be manikins if the only successfully made manikins are Chaos, Cosmos, and Warrior of Light.

  53. Envoy December 19, 2012 at 9:49 pm -      #53

“…how all the manikins ever made are failures…”
    +
It does not say all were, only some.
    =

    =
“If they keep talking about how they kept failing then how can the characters be manikins if the only successfully made manikins are Chaos, Cosmos, and Warrior of Light.”
    +
Because they never say they aren’t Manakins, they don’t discuss them in detail, the Chaos reports do, and they say they’re Manakins. Again, Warrior of Light isn’t mentioned in the reports, and the only time failure is mentioned is when Cid uses his own memories to make Manakins.

  54. The King of Games December 19, 2012 at 10:58 pm -      #54

  55. The King of Games December 19, 2012 at 11:02 pm -      #55

The last manikin made was Warrior of Light. He had an imcopletel transplant that’s why warrior of Light isn’t exactly like Cid.

You haven’t proven that to be a fact, and even if they did they don’t really touch on the nature of the Warriors. It leaves a huge hole only filled by the Reports of the original game.

  58. The King of Games December 20, 2012 at 3:58 pm -      #58

How does it not retcon them when it contradicts the Cosmos and Chaos reports. By changing the origin of the manikins. State that the other warriors are summoned tot hat world and that the only successfully made Manikins are Chaos, Cosmos, and Warrior of Light.

“How does it not retcon them when it contradicts the Cosmos and Chaos reports. By changing the origin of the manikins.”
    +
Actually, 012 says there were previous faliures from before he tossed out his failed copies. In the original game he makes the warriors’ bodies very early on, in the prequel this part is skipped over only saying memories were summoned, 012 Report mentions the disposal of no other Manakin experiments, presumably the ones mentioned in Dissidia.

    They can both be true.

  60. The King of Games December 20, 2012 at 6:05 pm -      #60

No I’m pointing out that the only successfully made Manikins are Chaos. Cosmos, and Warrior of Light. If the other characters were Manikins they would have restated it in the 012 Reports seeing how the first 7 reports are slightly edited Cosmos Reports.

  61. Envoy December 21, 2012 at 3:42 pm -      #61

“No I’m pointing out that the only successfully made Manikins are Chaos. Cosmos, and Warrior of Light.”
    +
Going by what the reports call a “success” Cosmos would be the only success, as stated in Notes 026, Report 10.
    +
The Emperor states all warriors of cosmos have her power within them, it allows them to create crystals. In Record 007, its is stated that Manakins receive Cosmos’ power.
    +
    They’re Manakins.
    =
“If the other characters were Manikins they would have restated it in the 012 Reports seeing how the first 7 reports are slightly edited Cosmos Reports.”
    +
Just because I point out something on my left does not mean the entirety of creation on my right does not exist. Not saying something is not proof of anything other than itself.
    +
The 012 Reports also don’t say how the warriors, who were summoned as incorporeal memories, came to posses bodies. I guess, if we go by your logic, it was never discussed and thus never happened. We must be in the matrix.

He would have to make manikins every time a new person is brought into the war. He summoned the warriors in The Confession of the Creator just like the gods do meaning they can’t manikins. The Chaos reports are old the new reports override them. You do know that Report 16 takes place during one of the first cycles right? Cosmos only gives her powers to her warriors during the 12th cycle so they can make the crystal in none of the other cycles did she do that. Also if the other warriors were manikins then that would mean he perfected the manikin making process which he never did otherwise Warrior of Light would be exactly like him.

    @envoy
“Since when does he make bodies for every single cycle?”
    -
wasn’t it stated that he made the bodies for the warriors?

“He summoned the warriors in The Confession of the Creator just like the gods do meaning they can’t manikins.”
    +
Except he has no idea if he did, also they could have just used older bodies Shinryu since doesn’t destroy them if they can still fight, which they can.
    =
” The Chaos reports are old the new reports override them.”
    +
Except 012 is the prequel and written by the same character, if anything they’re just different accounts of the same event.
    =
“Cosmos only gives her powers to her warriors during the 12th cycle so they can make the crystal in none of the other cycles did she do that.”
    +
Except we’re already told all manakins with memories are given her power.
    =
“Also if the other warriors were manikins then that would mean he perfected the manikin making process which he never did otherwise Warrior of Light would be exactly like him.”
    +
No, his own memories were the cause his failure in that case. To our knowledge there was never a problem anyone else’s.

Actually it’s stated that Shinryu erases the bodies once he feels he’s gotten all the experience can from them so they can’t be using old bodies.
    www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8vqISv8PTk
    Stated at about 3:50.
He constantly talks about the failures he has trying to make manikins in earlier reports. When are told that all pawns of Cosmos are given her power. Besides the 12th cycle when is it stated that she does so.

“Once a warrior had no more to give, he was erased, no mater how honorable he was”

    +
As long as they can fight Shinryu kept them alive, they could fight so they were not erased, as they could still fight.
    +
You do realize that if the warriors were indeed direct rips, then Shinryu wiping them out of reality would of removed them from their only games right?

    Cite it.

You do know when I said erased I meant erased from World B. Also if they aren’t the real deal what’s with this return them to their home world nonsense. They wouldn’t return but fade away. In Report 8 it talks about how they couldn’t even make manikins at that point. Then later was able to make just will less manikins.

“You do know when I said erased I meant erased from World B.”

You may have, but the game did not.

“Also if they aren’t the real deal what’s with this return them to their home world nonsense. They wouldn’t return but fade away.”
    +
The first game did the same, their consciousness return to their original home-worlds and bodies.

“In Report 8 it talks about how they couldn’t even make manikins at that point. Then later was able to make just will less manikins.”

    1. A quote would be citing.
    +
    2. Cid didn’t write any report before 14, so the problems previous scientists had with Manakins are inconsequential now.
    +
    3. Cid himself even questions the quality of his own memoires, even in earlier reports other scientists question his mental state.
    +
    “Is my memory unclouded?”
    Record 004, Report 15
    +
“Attempts at embedding my own memories into
    manikins fail.”
    Record 005, Report 15
    +
“Scientist claims to be an unclouded mind,
but how this can be determined is unknown.”
    Notes 026, Report 10
    +
Cid’s memories were his problem, at first there were none, but after an extremely long turn of events he’s a little loco in the coco.

  74. The King of Games December 24, 2012 at 3:09 pm -      #74

If Cid’s memory isn’t good then doesn’t that mean some of the things said in the reports should be questioned? Also let’s just say they are manikins I’m not convinced, but let’s say they are seeing how they that the perfect likeness of the memories then they should be just as powerful as the original. There is nothing stated that make manikins weaker then the real thing when the manikins are perfect. The whole point of the manikins at least when they are perfectly made is to be a complete clone.

“If Cid’s memory isn’t good then doesn’t that mean some of the things said in the reports should be questioned?”
    +
If mean it like that then nothing in any of the reports can be used, I only meant it as whatever memories that pertained to the creation of manakins were faulty.
    =
“Also let’s just say they are manikins I’m not convinced, but let’s say they are seeing how they that the perfect likeness of the memories then they should be just as powerful as the original.”
    +
No. You’ve yet to prove that being a perfect manakin means they are also perfect clones, you also forget multiple characters have shown abilities in dissidia that they never did in their games.
    =
“There is nothing stated that make manikins weaker then the real thing when the manikins are perfect.”
    +
There is nothing that says manakins have all the same abilities of the original.
    =
“The whole point of the manikins at least when they are perfectly made is to be a complete clone.”
    +
    You need to prove it.
