Ash Williams Vs Rick Grimes

For this fight, we have Ash Williams from The Evil Dead up against Rick Grimes of The Walking Dead, making his debut on FactPile.

This is not a death match.

Instead, there are a few scenarios to determine the winner.

2.) Who makes for a better leader?
3.) Who’s group would you want to be in?

    Heh, accidently posted, darn phone.

“1.) If they switched places, who would do a better job?”
What does ash get? His shotgun and chainsaw? I think he’d kick all the Walking Dead’s butts. If he’s dragging the Necronomicon, then surely fun would ensue.

“2.) Who makes for a better leader?”
Most definitely Ash! I mean the man’s just walking charisma and death!

“3.) Who’s group would you want to be in?”
    See answer for #2 ^^

1)Ash kills WAY more walkers than Rick would.
    -
    2) I think Rick may be a more reasonable leader, but less fun XD
    -
    3) Buuuut…He’s also shown to be batsh*t insane (the phone and shane). Gotta go with Ash

    Stomp for Ash.

    1. Ash would end the Zombie apocalypse of The Walking Dead singlehandedly.
    -
    2. Ruliya put it best. He was born to be a leader, Hail to the King Baby!
    -
    3. I’d feel alot safer with Ash, and he doesn’t have that whole overly serious jackass thing going on.

considering everything Ash did to his car using medieval technology, not to mention all the other defenses he set up for that castle, I have no doubt in his ability to tear through the walking dead with ease. I believe in him all the way through all 3 scenarios.
    -
What’s Rick gonna do against a mystical enemy? especially when his hand gets possessed? Or when the trees attack? He loses scenario 1, and so I can’t trust him in the other 2.
    -
I could have been king, but in a way, I am a king

Gotta go with the charismatic dude who carries a Shotgun in one hand, and the other IS either a chainsaw or a mechanical hand. For all 3 scenarios.

Ash Williams has fought the Marvel Zombies, I don’t think Rick Grimes can compare:

Scenario one: Honesty both die. Ash isn’t going to kicking that much ass, unless he doesn’t have his chainsaw hand. I think that might be his only real way of lasting a decent amount of time. Having the chainsaw instead of the mechanical hand slows down reload speed, and when it’s running is an instant zombie caller. Rick in the Evil dead world would be fucked, but I can’t go and assume how he’d handle everything that happened to Ash though. I do think that if his hand were to get possessed he’d cut it off, we all know he has no issue cutting infected limbs off.

    ———————-

Scenario two: Ash leads only when he has no other real option. Most of the time it feels like he’s just out to save himself,. Rick’s crazy aside, the man does care about his group, he’s willing to sacrifice himself to find missing members, and has no issue making the tougher choices. So I’m going with Rick; personal charisma can only get you so far.

    ———–

Scenario three: Ash never really has a group does he, and the groups he does occasionally get all end up dying. So yes I’m going to stick with Rick’s group.

    1. Ash would definitely survive and would lend his ingenuity to the group, perhaps find someone who can find a cure since at least in the show the doctor in the CDC lab figured out how the virus worked and probably if he had more time he could have figured out how to at least stop the changing process.
    -
    2. Ash without a doubt. Rick lead a group of 9 or 10 against brain dead cannibals and the odd bandit here and there. However his assault on the town was extremely hasty in its execution. Granted they didn’t have much time but at the very least they should have made more silencers for their weapons and had some type of exit strategy instead of ‘winging it’
    -
Meanwhile Ash lead an entire army against a numerically superior army of intelligent zombies and when unified with Henry The Red’s army managed to defeat them. Plus his ingenuity simply supersedes that of Rick’s.
    -
    3. Ash no question. His feats and intelligence is simply to great to be ignored. Hershal cut of his leg? Ash could have built him a working prosthetic one. Bunch of zombie in the way of the car? Ash could build a practical tank with a big ass fan on the front. Almost out of ammo? Ash appears to have mastered chemistry thus could make more if he had access to shells and the necessary material which if he found it in medieval England then he can definitely find it in the present. He’s also an accomplished explosives expert now. Plus he seems to do much better under pressure then Rick. Only problem I see with Ash is that he’s technically still half-deadite and might change on you out of nowhere. It was never addressed in the 3rd movie so maybe its gone.

Anyone else not excited about the evil dead remake?

  14. Aznavour December 17, 2012 at 6:35 pm -      #14

Is this TV series Rick or Comic Rick either way I don’t think he can beat Ash Williams, the world of the Evil Dead is more ****ed up than that of the walking dead. I dont know much about Ash, but is he level headed the way Rick is? Rick has a small chance of victory if he keeps his cool.

Also? Who would do a better job if they switched places? I don’t think Ash can lead a group of survivors in a post-apocalyptic world, mutiny is bound to rise up when you have someone like him as leader.

Rick is the better leader, especially in the comics, yes he can be cruel and umm..sadistic but if you’re part of his group and you do your part, that’d be a good place as any in a zombie infested world.

Also, on another unrelated topic.. how do you change your password?!

What about Jake and Finn vs Mario and Luigi

  16. Dassadec December 17, 2012 at 9:05 pm -      #16

    Sooo tough to call.

    but it breaks down to
1:Ash Would do better in Walking Dead than Rick would do in EvilDead
2: Rick Is a better leader based on well not trying to teach polearm tactics to medieval people who would know more on that lol
3: Ash, he would just be more fun

  17. Nomad December 17, 2012 at 9:34 pm -      #17

I want to say Rick, but I haven’t seen Evil Dead. I do love Rick though.

Sheppard: Ash those Boomsticks you installed are working out great

Ash: 500MM anti-ship cannons, Interstellar combat aisle, row 7. Shop Smart, Shop “S” Mart!

  23. OMEGAMI December 17, 2012 at 11:38 pm -      #23

Army of Darkness on Netflix FTW.
I love Ash, and this match just gave me a reason to play Fallout: New Vegas all over again, I’m making Ash.
I’m wondering what skills is he good at, definitely Mechanic, Medicine, Survival, Science?, Lockpick?, Guns, Melee and I will see if I have some left overs for Unarmed.
You see, I’ve being thinking, what if Ash was put into the Fallout world? He has shown similar traits that can be done in the game, he would splatter Ghouls with his shotgun and cut Death Claws with his chainsaw.

For those not in the know, this is all you need to know when it comes to Ashley Williams and his levels of badassitude.

  28. captain napalm December 23, 2012 at 11:27 am -      #28

    Ash. Foregone conclusion, really.

Rick in Evil Dead universe–gets turned into one more Evil Dead.

Ash in Walking Dead universe–the Dead aren’t going to be Walking for long.

    @Dr. Doctor

How didn’t I notice that? Ashley Williams. Ah-durr.

    1) i cant get the image out of my head of comics rick, with his already lopped off hand becoming the new ash lol just puts on the chainsaw hand and picks up boomstick, bulks up a bit,a nd starts using catchy lines lol buts ash in the walking dead world would be a sight to behold.
2)rick grimes is undoubtably a better leader though not as charismatic, he typically get most of his people through any situation he is presented with, whereas ash, while more fun, is likely to run off into combat and have everyone else fend for themselves and if we count his comic books is the only one in his groups ever to survive and move on.
3)while id love to see ash in combat regularly id prefer to live so rick
