Mostly just the stuff you’ve described in some of the fights with characters or the reasons you’ve gave why they win. And similar stuff on other forums.
Kratos may actually be pretty good, but is he Sol Badguy+ or Ky Kiske+(Guilty Gear) levels of good?
Something tells me that’s not the case, and this is gonna sting a wee bit more than I can imagine, isn’t it?
Although if the F/SN Lancer’s there, maybe some Mutual Badassery can be displayed, I hope.
Or maybe not, as Saber(should her turn come in) will end it quickly.

ill Start with Jacks abilities as shes proboly the least well known
- Maria the Ripper: The Holy Mother of Dismemberment ,is a set four strangely shaped knives. They are normally classified as Rank D Noble Phantasms, but they can be empowered under certain conditions by “the hatred of children who were denied everything, even the chance to sell their own flesh; the children who were abandoned back then by the 80,000 prostitutes in the London ghettos in order to maintain their own livelihood.” If activated normally, they can be used to deal physical damage to the target while the conditions are not completely fulfilled. Upon fulfilling them, the damage rendered receives a large boost in Rank and the attack can guarantee instant death. If a) “it is night-time,” b) “the target is a female,” c) “it is misty,” the knives manifest within the target’s body, instantly vivisecting their flesh. The attack is communicated as a curse rather than a physical technique executed by utilizing the set of knives, so it may be used at range.
- The Mist: Darkened Misty Metropolis is a Bounded Field Noble Phantasm generated from an antique lantern that reenacts the phenomenon of the “Mist of Death”. Upon opening the shutter and gently touching the candle inside, the lit flame instantly begins to generate smoke-like mist from the bottom of the lantern. The mist, wrought of prana, forms a Bounded Field around the area that has a negative effect on all those who enter within the perimiter. Normal humans will quickly faint from pain upon coming in contact with the dense cloud of enveloping smoke, as simply breathing it in burns the throat and direct contact with eyes causes them to fester. They start to sufficate due to being unable to breath, and they cannot see anything as they writhe in pain. She can easily use this time to selectively kill them, or she can simply wait for them to be inflicted with death within a few turns. Magi will not immediately perish, but they will recieve continuous damage. Heroic Spirits will not recieve damage, but they will have a Rank Down in Agility.
Jack is able to direct The Mist as she wishes in order to select which targets within the Bounded Field are affected, allowing her to leave a blank space around her Master. She is also able to limit it to only a specific area, allowing her to activate it just inside a building. The ability is continuously activated while she is under Mad Enhancement, and it will instantly target all entities possessing prana within range of the ability. It also affects the sense of direction of those within the field perimeter, making them lose their baring of the area. Even within a familiar enclosed space, the mist deceives all those trying to escape into running around in circles in the same place without realizing it. Normal humans will always die in agony without ever being able to escape. The only means of escape for magi and Servants are the employment of magecraft or a Rank B or higher in Instinct. The Mist quickly clears upon being deactivated.
The ability is not something gained only upon becoming a Heroic Spirit, but something similar to magecraft that she used during life. Upon finding her victims, the mist would begin to thicken suddenly, and she could approach them without being noticed. They were only able to tell she was there when she spoke while standing directly before them. Similar to London’s nickname of “The Old Smoke”, The Mist is a recreation of the smog, the mixture of smoke and fog released during the burning of coal, that plagued the city countless times from the 19th to the 20th century because of conditions during the Industrial Revolution. The use of coal emitted large quantities of smog that eventually resulted in a crisis wherein a thick mist of sulfuric acid plagued the city in the 1950′s. The worst of it was the Great Smog of 1952 where the mist covering London caused over ten thousand deaths.
-She prefers the cover of night to conceal her exposure, and due to her provocative manner of dress, she rarely leaves her abode in daytime. She has the normal Presence Concealment Class Skill granted to the Assassin class, which allows her to almost completely eliminate her presence toward others. This allows her to easily carry Hyouma down the street behind Reika without exposing herself at all. She is even able to elude the senses of Servants, but the ability fails upon the execution of an attack. She has her own unique skill, Murderer of the Misty Night, that compensates for the weakness of Presence Concealment and utilizes both their strengths to allow for a perfect ambush. The skill is associated with her nature as a serial killer rather than that of an Assassin, and it permits a preemptive against all opponents. The skill is unconditionally successful during the night, and if utilized during the daytime, the success is determined by a luck roll.
- Her unstable nature grants her a natural protection against mental interference magecraft. Mental Pollution provides a probability that it will be rendered ineffective on its use. Masters of an Evil alignment that perpetrate acts of cruelty towards her can further increase its rank and its capability to defend against magecraft at the cost of possibly causing irreversible damage to her psyche. She has her own ability that affects the minds of others, Information Erasure, which removes any records or memories of her true name, abilities, or appearance following the conclusion of an engagement. It not only targets witnesses of the her fights, but also the opponent and even digital recordings by a closed-circuit camera in broad daylight will be changed. Physical evidence of the engagement is not altered in any way, and her identity may be revealed through logical deduction.
-She has a very low rank in Surgical Procedure that uses techniques over one hundred twenty years old. While it is somewhat unreliable simply by its crude appearance upon its application, the procedures manage to attain the intended effect after being boosted somewhat with the application of prana. It can be applied to either Jack or her Master, and it stems from the anatomical knowledge and skills with dissection required to remove the organs of her victims. It allows her to heal Reika’s stab wounds. Reika finds that her wounds have been stitched up, but it is done in a crude method looks like the black thread is creeping about haphazardly like an earthworm. While it seems like her wounds may not even be closed properly, the bleeding and pain have completely subsided. The same chaotically done surgical procedure is also able to keep Sagara alive after Jack cuts off both his jaw and one of his hands.

she eats souls, well Kratos chains of Hades would be useless, or at least the magic associated with them since it tosses out souls. And her other powers will be giving Kratos problems too. Very impressive.

Not gonna lie, I don’t think I can watch this, and were it not for the fact I hear that F/SN’s Lancer(Cu Chulainn’s Avatar) is there, I don’t think I’d look back if I were to leave the area outright.
As it stands, The whole Vid shows a lot of feats on Lancer’s end, but (5:00) is where things really begin to heat up, that’s for sure!
And I can’t even Track F/SN’s Lancer for crying outloud!!!

Assuming Gilgamesh’s arrogance doesn’t hinder him too much then Enkidu + EA=gg.The only other servant I see assured of winning is Heracles with godhand.He has multiple lives and I am not sure about Kratos having enough powerfull attacks that would rank A on the noble phantasm scale.Also seeing how the description says that the “master is present” he even regenerates said lifes over time though I do not know the time it takes to regen a life.

I am sorry Fallstar, but this part makes the match seem kind of pointless. Or, a rather good idea if we debate each character separately, but so far it seems everyone is acting as though he goes against all of them at once.
All that said, I am a layman for Fate/Stay Night, so…continue unhindered by me.

I’d say loses more often than wins. Instant death with knives occur when all three conditions are met, one of them being the target needs to be a woman. Kratos isn’t so he’d likely survive an ambush.

Is able to exchange hundreds of blows with Saber within a few seconds and if the strikes are anything like Zero Lancer where the wind trailing the weapons cut lampposts in half and the sheet iron of warehouses were being ripped apart just with the weapons in close proximity, then Assassin is likely to win. Keeping in mind he could hold back Saber, Archer, and even Berserker from getting through the gate though the latter is unseen.

Caster(Medea):
Spam A-rank AoE spells and rain death while flying. A simple beam can fully destroy a Servant when hit directly and comparable spells like Rin’s jewels that can destroy the church or the entire Ryudo temple can be easily blocked or absorbed. Her spells are massively higher in destructive power compared to those. She should win fairly easily.

Caster(Gille De Rais):
Not too useful unless he has the giant Chthulhu monster. Even then, the only thing notable about it is its regeneration.

Lancer(Diarmuid Ua Duibhne):
One of the fastest Servants able to tag an F-15 midflight, has access to anti-regeneration and anti-magic spears. As explained earlier, the wind trailing from the weapons in his fight with Saber was enough to ruin the area around the warehouses without much contact at all. He’ll be winning fairly easily.

Lancer(Cu Chulainn):
Even faster than the other Lancer in short bursts. Gae Bolg ignores defences and targets the heart. And it can be used 7 times in succession before prana becomes an issue. He stomps.

Rider(Medusa):
Also in the running for fastest Servant while on her Pegasus. With Sakura as a master, her Phantasm is enough to offset Excalibur by a fair bit. A direct hit from that will kill Kratos. And that’s without factoring in a constantly active petrification enchantment if Breaker Gorgon is not on her face. If Kratos isn’t turned to stone, her eyes will still put in a down rank for the rest of his abilities.

Strength in numbers but Kratos should be able to take down most of the army. Then again, each member of the army is pretty much average Servant level like Archer so they have a decent chance of putting him down.

Not really fair at all. Flight goes to him if he has Vimana. Enkidu grows stronger the more divine one’s blood is and would definitely restrain Kratos very easily while being barraged by Gate of Babylon. He gets Ea out, he wins easily. If he’s actually trying seriously, every one of those abilities come together all at once.

Iirc there are servants in Ionian heteroi greater than iskander although they can’t use np due to riders lack of mana

However, if the animes are anything like the mangas, I’m willing to bet either Archer, either Berserker, Saber, and both Lancers could take Kratos down 1v1 with varying degrees of difficulty.
I agree with Cypher, Kratos will take some of them out handily, but ones like Saber, Archer and Beserker (Hercules) will take him down. Seeing as Saber has town+ level Excaliblasts, Archer has Mach 13 Pranas and Hercules is physically a mountain+ buster and has 12 lives, etc

Assuming that Kratos somehow manages to avoid being skewered directly in the heart and have thousands of thorns released throughout his body, this is what’s going to happen.

Lancer can use Barbed Spear 7 times. In 40k terms, I’d consider it an AP2 power weapon that automatically hits, wounds, and causes Instant Death. Let’s assume that Kratos somehow has an Invulnerable save of 5+ to represent his luck because there’s no way any of his defences are going to be stopping that spear. Suppose he passes that save. That’s all well and good, but then Kratos would have to pass 6 more if he doesn’t want to get killed by it. And even after the initial hit and he survives, there’s still going to be a gaping wound in him in continuation.

I’m going to guess….. not really. Based on what the other Primarchs have done, a majority of the Zero servants wouldn’t be able to scratch him. Don’t forget, blessings of Khorne make him nigh immune to most magic anyways. (Though I’m assuming this is Daemon Primarch version.)

Shendu would actually match up fairly well one-on-one with some though he’d murder a fair number of them as well. Granted, Sheep Talisman would be pretty worthless considering all the Servants are already spirits. Though Rabbit and Horse Talisman would be enough to get him through any Servant that doesn’t have the destructive capacity to blow him away in one shot.
(Or those who can negate immortality/regen like Zero Lancer and Gilgamesh.)

^I may know nothing of the other team but I KNOW this statement is BS. Kratos actually experienced the deaths of all toughs Athenians in the seige of athens in the novel(why athena did this beats me. Kind of a sadistic d!ck move). By experienced I mean he literally felt his throat slit,stabs,fire etc. He didn’t die from it. Goes to show his pain tolerance.

That said I’m staying out of this mainly cause of a lack of knowledge of the other team and the that “you know who” has recently been commenting on this page.
Angron vs Fate Servants: He would murder most of them but gets thrashed by the hax that some of them hold. Gilgamesh for example just has to hurl Gae Bolg and dead Angron is dead.
I feel like Kratos is being highly underestimated here and let me state that I am a huge of both GOW and Fate Zero. I have only watched the anime so I might be missing out of a lot. Feel free to correct me.
Gil will obliterate Kratos, if he pulls his head out of his ass of course, the other servants will lose in my honest opinion.
Broskander
The numbers on Iskander’s army are great but it wouldn’t be unexpected for Kratos to be able to take them all down. It will highly depend on which level the soldiers on the army are. If they are fodder Iskander will die.
Saber
She has Excalibur and regeneration powers but no matter how much Saber can spam Excalibur she has little other options to choose from. Dodging Excalibur shouldn’t be a problem for him at all and as long as he manages to do so he’ll take this one with ease.
Caster
There isn’t much he can do other than summoning his monsters. Defeating full fledged titans was never a problem for Kratos.
Assassin
The poor thing.
Berserker and Diarmuid
Both of them are skilled fighters so why will they lose?
It boils down to natural skills. Kratos is a demigod.
His strength, agility, speed, resistance are god level.
He can regenerate, he can withstand high level attacks, he was the general of the strongest army on earth and his fighting skills, experience and instincts cannot even be compared to the Fate/Zero servants. Kratos is probably one of the strongest and most skilled fighters ever to exist.
I feel like you’re overestimating Kratos in this matchup, especially considering all you’ve seen is the anime, never played through the visual novels, or read through the light novel as well. Here’s the problem with your flawed opinion.

1. Gilgamesh doesn’t have to do anything serious. Considering how Kratos is a demigod, it’ll end up the same way as his fight with Hercules. Skewered by weapons that are comparable to a carpet bombing with just 8 shots while restrained by Enkidu.

2. Saber’s Excalibur is beyond anything Kratos has tanked directly. When charged and at 10 meters away, there won’t be enough time for most Servants, who are already hypersonic+ to avoid unless one has something that can overwhelm its output. She can weave through Vulcan Cannon fire while running on water and can trade hundreds of blows with Assassin at a rate presumably similar to Archer vs. Lancer in the prologue where hundreds of blows were struck in an instant. Kratos is not going to be tagging her let alone block an Excalibur if she decides to rush forward and use it.

Because he’s fast enought to keep up with Hermes. Gods are known to be portrayed as the ultimate form of power. If you think these servants can keep up to godly feats it’s up to you I have yet to see something that proves it. And by these servants I mean these not all. From what I see F/SN servants are far stronger than F/Z.

Hermes is fast to an unspecified degree that barely even reaches soundspeed. That’s barely minimum speed for Servant level.

Based on what’s shown by said gods in God of War in a direct fight, they are not going to be keeping up with any sufficiently powerful being from another fiction who shows better feats than Kratos.

Well, what godly feats (on the part of Kratos, now) are you talking about? Merely saying that “character A beat character B. Character C cannot beat character B, so character C also cannot character A” is insufficient as there may be factors and abilities in play that would otherwise drastically affect the outcome (for example, say character A is a gunslinger and he shot character B to death, and character C, while a worse fighter than character B, happens to be immune to bullets).
We need to take feats from the participants themselves and compare them, not compare the foes they’ve fought (except for the purpose of gathering feats, such as durability).

Strongest army on Earth *in his own world*. Iskandar’s army is composed entirely of Servants, which is a much better army than Kratos’ entirely mortal one.

That’s why we use feats. The general procedure is to find the toughest thing someone has tanked and use it as a high-end for their durability (namely, the subject has never been shown to tank anything stronger than that, so we presume he can’t). Kratos is a tough customer, but some of the Servants are just ridiculous.

One of the issues with this is that we tend to dismiss game mechanics as, well, game mechanics. Things like HP are usually ignored unless justified in-universe. Therefore we usually look at cinematics and quick-time events if at all possible.

An addendum to this:
Kratos has a mortal mother and Zeus as his father, making him half-god. This puts him on the same level of divinity as, say, Hercules.
Gilgamesh, on the other hand, is actually 2/3 god (don’t ask), making him even *more* divine than Kratos could ever hope to be.
Therefore, if Kratos’ only argument in his favour is ‘lol, demigod’, then Team Fate has him beat even there.

Hercules Has A rank divinity (same as Karna) because he became a real god when he died
Karna has A rank divinity because he merged with the sun god when he died
Kratos is a normal demigod he would have B rank divinity like Cu Chulainn

I suspect there’s better-suited universes for both to fight but I don’t know any ideas yet at the moment.
(Unless you count BlazBlue vs the Dresden Files universe, even then I’m not sure if BlazBlue has enough firepower to fight back against the DF-verse on its own, compared to Guilty Gear’s odds, NOI!)
