Here we have Master Chief (Halo) facing off against Alexander Corde from the Section 8 franchise.
For this battle, both have their standard load-outs.
Battlefield is Paris, near the Eiffel Tower at night.
Who would win?

Alex Corde could arguably solo MC and Noble Team in the Alex Corde, Shepherd and Alcatraz vs MC and Noble Team thread
-
So yeah, MC gets raped /thread
at least the Dresden fights were fair fights….
Chief gets dominated for the umptenth time.
I…eh?
What are their “standard” load-outs? Because Chief almost always seems to be underequipped when he fights in this site.
Standard load out would probably be both starting out with their respective assault rifles and pistols, and maybe knifes. The problem is Alex has Starcraft esque guns and Chief’s weapons won’t be able to get through the Alex’s shields fast enough, or that massive armor.
@Admiral
About 90% of the site appreciates the fact(myself included) actually.
As usual may I ask the suggestor if Chief’s gonna be permitted to be using Scarab Guns?
@Cross
Non Canon Gun is non canon.
@Master Sarge
Awww man!!!!!
I tried to suggest a good idea in there, may no one accuse me of gunning for the opposite with that question.
Going by the posts, Chief would lose in a straight up fight.
The best strategy for him would be to turn tail and run. FactPile rules states that fighters have basic knowledge of their foes, so Chief should know enough that Alex would and could slaughter him from the get go.
From this point, it would be who can take the other by surprise first.
If I made a match with Master Chief in it, I would give him everything, depending on which incarnation was being used. I wouldn’t just give standard equipment. That’s like taking a base form and throwing him/her into a battle with someone who isn’t at his/her base form.
Oh yeahhh…. The whipping boy (or whipping granfather) is back!
So I guess I’ll just put this here

Corde’s standard assault rifle is a rapid firing railgun that fires 15mm armor piercing rounds whose electromagnetic properties are designated to wear down or pass through shields easier. It has a mag size of, I think 90 was the current.
He’s also got timed auto-locking feature to help with fast moving targets.
His knife, also designed to pass through shields and rip into armor.

Armor has a jetpack for limited flight and enhances speed, agility, strength

Pretty sure Chief’s load-out is an assault rifle, battle rifle, and magnum.
This would’ve been a match if Chief at least got some bubble shields and covenant weaponry.
But even with that, his chances of winning are slim..
Well 60kph for a spartan speed… Corde has 125 in overdrive mode.
I don’t know much about section 8. What if John had Promethean vision, light rifle and scattershot? How do the section 8 shields work?
@erickyboo
-
The shields work by constantly sending out frequency pulses around the user (similar to sonar) that detect the movement speed of all nearby objects. The armor’s onboard computer then calculates the point of trajectory, velocity, and size. When the armor senses an incoming object possessing a dangerous level of velocity and/or size, the suit emits a powerful honeycomb lattice of plasma to the point of impact, melting or deflecting the object and rendering the user unharmed. If further dangerous objects continue to travel toward the armor, this process repeats until the shield capacitors are drained of energy. At this point, the armor begins to take damage. If the wearer takes cover, the shield capacitors will regenerate, and protective energy shielding will be fully re-established within several seconds.
-
since chief’s weapons aren’t as nasty as the weapons in section 8 chances are it will either take chief 2-4 assault rifle magazines (give or take since that’s game mechanics) or the shields won’t deploy because they are tuned to deflect rail gun rounds
-
I should also note that Corde’s armor is probably bullet proof when compared to chief’s weapons as the armor plates on the USIF armor is meant to protect against the rail guns ARM soldiers use.
I wonder how they would react to hard light weaponry. Like a light rifle.
Corde rips Chief to shreds. Have you seen the dude? He lands at terminal velocity without so much as being phased. He carries an assault rifle more powerful than any sniper rifle today.
-
His only weakness is that he is slow when he isn’t sprinting over 100km/h.
Corde probably should’ve been put up against one of starcrafts space marines.
Or maybe the Guy from Vanquish
Standard load out for chief is assault rifle or battle rifle?
I’d point out a couple of things.
First, on the cordes weapons are designed to pierce shields line. The two shields are functionally different. Methods designed to pen one will not necessarily help pen the other.
-
Second, Cordes suit is not fully powered. In close combat MC could twist his head off.
-
Third, assumptions on the penetrative power of cordes railgun without mass/velocity ect is pointless.
-
Fourth, corde loses out on reaction time, which in an urban fight is important.
-
Fifth, if the above post by lancer is correct, his shielding is actually less energy efficient against low threat attacks than MC’s as the armour relies of a best guess (probably erring on the side of caution) to defend against incoming attacks. MC’s on the other hand is only depleted by the exact amount of energy which strikes it. Also, as cordes shields are strictly reactive anything which can obscure his sensors, or beat the systems processing speed would bypass the shielding altogether. Its construction should also make it vulnerable to large mass high density strikes which its system is ill designed to deal with.
“Methods designed to pen one will not necessarily help pen the other.”

They all seem to come with Electromagnetic properties. Like the EMP grenades except smaller and in bullet form.

Where are people getting the info for the shields?

Here some of the info on the weapons
-
The Scimitar assault rifle
“The Assault Rifle is standard issue to every USIF soldier. It is fitted with a MK2 Electro-magnetic jacketing system, and fires a 15mm case-less armor-piercing round. The MK2 EMJ system layers each round into a harmonically tuned electromagnetic frequency, allowing it to wear down shields faster and makes it particularly effective at tearing through the armor of enemy infantry.”
—
Vanguard hypervelocity sniper rifle
“This long-range rifle provides unparalleled accuracy and stopping power against distant targets. Utilizing the 1.20 caliber round, the weapon is difficult to wield but is devastating against shields and armor and carries a substantial effective range. Utilizing Kinetic Mass Drivers to propel the round and using advanced optical technology (which interfaces directly to the soldier’s HUD), its extraordinary accuracy and armor-penetrating ability make it an outstanding anti-infantry weapon.”
-
Sledgehammer Pistol
“Noted for its accuracy, quick rate of fire, and effortless reloading, the Pistol retains a prominent role in military use. Its lack of a scope makes it an ineffective weapon at extreme ranges, but large caliber slugs (.75 caliber round) more than make up for it with tremendous amounts of ballistic force. The Pistol has proven effective under fire and is an ideal backup weapon for combat deployment.”
—
He also got access to different types of grenades, various, tools like self repair tool(like a med kit or miniature engineer), sensor blockers, etc. Sooo, what he being given here? He doesn’t really have a specific set of equipment.
“Third, assumptions on the penetrative power of cordes railgun without mass/velocity ect is pointless.”

15mm round at hyper sonic speeds (Roughly 1700+ m/s). Taking the mass of 14.5mm rounds (roughly 0.060kg), that’s around 80kJ-90kJ low end….

I’m just going off what Lancer_AR posted.

“Here some of the info on the weapons”

The EM jacketing wouldn’t do much to Spartan shields at the level it speaks of. The suits are basically hardened against EMP for obvious reasons seeing as small nukes set off nearby just fuzz screens and make shields flare slightly (no mention of strength dropping). I don’t see his gun having the power output per shot to exceed that. As always we’ll have to settle on which weapons he actually can use, because if one fighter is gimped in their choice the other should be too. Also, those weapon descriptions don’t give us much to go on for the actual strength of the round.

Assuming those numbers are correct. He won’t even come close to one shotting MC as general level puts his shields at low Megajoules.
