    Yey! Skullgirls! Needs more puns and Ms. Fortune (although that’s redudant).
    -
    Street Fighter vs Tekken looks lame. You only have to kill one of the two team members? Lame.
    -
    Kinda funny how crossover fighters are becoming even more popular now.
    -
    2008 had MvC3 (which has since been updated to UMvC3), Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and Mortal Kombat vs DC, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and Castlevania Judgement (okay, doesn’t techinically crossover with another franchise, but it is the same idea just confined within itself).
    -
    Street Fighter vs Tekken is already out. Dead or Alive Dimensions (which has always been a crossover fighter with Ninja Gaiden) had a Metroid crossover. Playstation All Stars Battle Royal is a crossover fighter and should be released within the year. And Dissidia (okay, that is limited to only within the FF multiverse, but within that multiverse it plays this straight).
    -
    I find this trend to be interesting. It is fun to play with the idea that all of fiction, in some way, can be intertwined together into some sort of singular fiction-verse, where every work of fiction exists side by side. … and then you play 26 degrees of Super Mario.

    You mean like MUGEN AI Tournament?

    Meantime, if its fine by you I’m gonna go try to see if I can get Mami Tomoe a match on the site, I suspect vs Eragon might be overkill in Mami’s favor since its not likely Eragon will know about it until its too late, right?(If Eragon even thinks about having Mami cross the Despair Event Horizon, matters are gonna be so much worse on him, for that matter!)

    I may never find out why mlp is so popular =/
    —————–
    Why has their NEVER been a true shadow of the colossus sequel/game made entirely of colossal boss fights since then ?!

    “I may never find out why mlp is so popular =/”

    1) watch the show. It is surpisingly clever… like that one episode where the whole town went out drinking. Yes, MLP: FIM had an entire episode dedicated to the production and consuption of an alcholic beverage; it was awesome.
    2) Hasbro is being increadibly cool towards the non-target audience fans and what they do. For instance the only youtube videos that Hasbro takes down are the Apple Store versions of whole episodes. If you upload a whole episode that is copied from the TV airing they are totally cool with it and will leave it alone. Even the voice actresses have been direction involved with some fan projects, lending their voices to their corresponding characters (this is something that any type of actor is specifically not supposed to do due to the possible negative depiction of the characters and thus the company [like that time the then booth-babe model for Lara Croft posed in-character for a porn magazine; yeah she got fired real quick]).
    -
    Those are the two big reasons. The show doesn’t suck, and Hasbro has been increadibly supportive to the Bronies that they totally didn’t expect get.

    @OA
    I’ve seen the show,a LOT of my freinds are ‘bronies’ and I still don’t get it. I mean I found it funny they all were gulible enough to go with thoughs to con artists(flim flam bros?) though that was done on the simpsons years before(monorail episode),that celistial wait until later to tell them that her pet bird was a phoenix etc.
    —-
    Still I’m surprised a show marketed towards little girls aged 5-12 has such a huge fan base of boy’s aged 14-20. And now im even more shocked because of the alcahol reffrence(how’d they sneek that into a kids show?) and now just past the total drama series and thus broke the top ten cartoon fan fiction section, But I digress, People like diffrent things
    ——
    Seriously I REALLY wanna know why their hasn’t been any games with the same kind of style(by that only huge boss fights)

    “how’d they sneek that into a kids show?”
    -
    tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GettingCrapPastTheRadar
    Personally I think writers for shows like that sit around betting on what they can get away with.

    Then again this wasn’t snuck in
    www.youtube.com/watch?v=U008nGT0eww&feature=youtube_gdata_player
    So maybe cartoon writers can do whatever the hell they want that doesn’t involves actual swears, sex, or gore.

    “I mean I found it funny they all were gulible enough to go with thoughs to con artists(flim flam bros?) though that was done on the simpsons years before(monorail episode),”
    -
    Okay, first of all: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDuMp2kDxos so no surprise there.
    -
    “that celistial wait until later to tell them that her pet bird was a phoenix etc.”
    -
    Actually, for her part, Celestia probably just assumed that everyone already knew that Philomena was a phoenix. She wasn’t exactly being questioned on what type of bird Philomena was until it was revield that she could self ressurect. Frankly I was more surprised that Fluttershy didn’t know what a phoenix was in the first place.
    -
    “Still I’m surprised a show marketed towards little girls aged 5-12 has such a huge fan base of boy’s aged 14-20.”
    -
    This was a major pet peeve of the shows creator, Lauren Faust. She believed that a show marketed towards little girls didn’t have to be so increadibly stupid that it could not be appriciable to boys or other age groups, and the shows direction obviously reflects the success of her work as it is widely popular beyond its targeted demographic. This isn’t a new phenominon (Sailor Moon, for instance has a similiar fan following beyond its target audience); the Bronies just pop’d up faster than most because of how quickly information spreads these days and because once Hasbro became aware of the Bronies they started to actively help increase its popularity (such as not taking down youtube videos of entire episodes, which really is one of the big ones). The fact that there are numerous references in both the show and the ads for the show that the target audience just won’t understand (such as this: i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/321/374/acf.jpg) certianly helps as well.
    -
    The Apple Cider episode, for instance, relies entirely upon the fact that Apple Cider can also be a non-alcoholic beverage. They can only imply that it is alcoholic here; not explicately state. The target audience will not pick up on that subtext, but the older audience certianly will. It is a matter of adults writting for adults within the confines of a children’s show. Watch Animaniacs… still hilarious because now you will understand all those in jokes. Same rule applies here.
    -
    Double points: Berry Punch (seen here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WvuW6RqOyo&feature=endscreen) is, by word of god, confirmed to be “the drinker”. The Bronies saw this scene (minus the “spiked” reference, that is from another episode) and decided that Berry Punch was a drinker. Later the animator of that scene stated that Berry Punch was specifically choosen for that scene in an effort to imply that she was an alcoholic. This all makes this scene even more hilarious: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxUNc4ac7cY
    -
    “So maybe cartoon writers can do whatever the hell they want that doesn’t involves actual swears, sex, or gore.”
    -
    Not quite, but also not entirely far off. Remember THE PILOT EPISODE for MLP:FIM involved BRINGING ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD. Not exagerating that either. Word of God from Lauren Faust herself confirmed that Night Mare Moon would have caused the death of all living things with her eternal night.
    -
    And now celebrate this with me:

    @OriginalA
    Meh I guess i don’t really relate with any of the characters except their was one who I liked but only appeared 2 episodes =/

  10. OriginalA September 23, 2012 at 8:48 pm -      #10

    Fair enough. Just because it is popular and objectively good, it is unresonable to expect everyone to like it.
    -
    Which character BTW?

  11. Commander Cross September 23, 2012 at 9:03 pm -      #11

    @Messenger OriginalA

    Do you mind having a look at this thread, in fact, since Mami Tomoe is to be involved in it actually?

    Also, why is it that(Princesses Celestia + Luna aside as one of the two managed to save my life, true story in fact?) Rarity seems and feels so powerful via descriptions?
    Is it true that Rarity was forged in blood and tempered in battle?

  12. OriginalA September 24, 2012 at 12:45 am -      #13

    Okay, so what? You like Discord. He’s fun! He’s Q in a different shape.
    -
    Also, Spike did eventually get around to trying to tell Rarity how he feels but she cut him off; she already knew and was fine with it.
    -
    That was a neat episode actually. Spike grew to be godzilla sized and he smashed up Ponyville.

  13. Rhododendron September 24, 2012 at 1:08 am -      #14

    @oa
    Yeah my lil bro watched that episode(I was a lil bummed he didn’t gain wings though)
    ——
    Yeah discord amussed me too bad hes not likely tomrerurn for a while….
    —-
    Personally I like cartoons but more along the lines of:xiaolin showdown,total drama,classic warner bros,scooby doo etc etc.
    —-
    Speaking of which I got an Idea of a what if:What if shaggy was always brave(like in phantomsuar) in the scooby doi series. Your thoughts?

  14. OriginalA September 24, 2012 at 1:18 am -      #15

    “Your thoughts?”
    -
    Was never much of a Scoobie Doo fan so… *shrug*

  15. Rhododendron September 24, 2012 at 1:28 am -      #16

    @oa
    Eh it’s okay im more of a casual scooby do fan my self. but he once ran across lockness when scared. when he was brave it supposedly unlocked his phydical potential.

    So what do you watch?
