Seriously? Please don’t award that match.
There are many matches that probably deserve an award a fair bit more. Such as; Zerg vs The Empire, Metal Gear vs Resident Evil, Arbiter vs Marcus Fenix, and Sasuke Uchiha vs Anakin Skywalker. They all maintained actual debating and avoided devolving as so many do.

Anyways, if you just don’t want to give that match an award, I urge you to try to play any game with Pit as the main character. You won’t be psychologically able to award him anything after enduring such torture. (I was joking at first, then I had flashbacks to Kid Icarus… Oh the horror.)
I agree with ZomB and Chuck. That match is a train wreck of massive proportions that was inflated unnecessarily.

Downside?
A lot of what you noted, sadly speaking.
Pit deserved the reward once, long, long ago. Back when we definitely came to a conclusion that Pit almost definitely deserved the award. Instead the match has been dragged on and on through the mud, and much like Goku vs The Hulk, it should be closed. Award or no reward, I don’t really care now.
