Silent Hill vs Extermination vs Resident Evil.
This is not a battle to the death, this is a battle to which one takes this rounds:
Round 1: Which one has the best Story and Plot?
Round 2: Which one is the Scariest/Horror of the 3 of them?
Round 3: Which one has the better atmosphere and theme sounds?
Round 4: Which one is more dangerous?
Round 5: Which one has great characters?
Round 6: Which Enemies/Monsters/Mutants, are better/Dangerous/Scary?
Round 7: Which one do you Like the most?

IB is with Silent Hill, and if I need to explain why, let’s just say the Town itself is uber in its own unique way, enough said.
Uh, Left 4 Dead 2? (that’s the only one I’ve played from beginning to end).

-Silent Hill, while RE is a good, nothing struck me as truly scary.

I have no clue what Extermination is so I can not judge it. While I am not a fan of either Silent Hill or Resident Evil, I do know a good portion of the mythos behind them.

Silent Hill has numerous stories usually not related to one another. But it is usually about someone getting stuck in Silent Hill and having the town go nutso based on their psychological issues. An advantage it has over Resident Evil is that it has multiple endings so how it ends is up to you.

Resident Evil is about a corporation who creates a virus and the people trying to stop it. While it does have a continuing story, sometimes it gets really confusing for people to jump in. For example, I didn’t know Wesker had a son until I heard it on a commentary (featuring Wesker and Doom).

Round 2: Which one is the Scariest/Horror of the 3 of them?

Resident Evil usually places you in an isolated area where you have to manage your items to deal with the undead and various other creatures. Silent Hill is the same thing, but made specifically to that person’s psychological issues. If you have the same issues as that person, they’ll definitely scare you.

While similar, in Resident Evil you are usually playing as a trained professional. Sure, the situation maybe scary but it isn’t something they can’t handle. Silent Hill, you’re just an average Joe thrown into a situation totally unprepared and having no clue what to do. Not to mention the Wii Silent Hill makes it scary to your specific issues.

Going to sum this one up because it’ll be repeating above. Silent Hill focuses on the person’s psychological issues, so it’s fitting to that character’s situation. Resident Evil is kind of generalized in the atmosphere department.

Take a shot as I am going to say once more Silent Hill changes itself to fit your character’s issues. Add to that the Room where you don’t even need to be there and you have a dangerous situation. Thing is, you need to have a relationship with Silent Hill to be effected.

Resident Evil being generalized scary means it is generalized dangerous. And you do not have to be related to Umbrella or STARS to be effected. Heck, how many people became zombies in the series?

Resident Evil has Wesker. Resident Evil wins.

This is a poorly thought out round. Round 3 was about scary and Round 4 was about dangerous. This is basically having those two rounds together. And I said SH was scarier but RE was more dangerous. So which of these two is better?

I would have to say it is a tie. SH is made to your order while RE can get you no matter what. This is the most subjective of the rounds.

As said, not a fan of either series. But of them, I would say I like Resident Evil more. Mostly because of Wesker in the Assist Me series.

So in the end, it is a tie with me. But that isn’t taking Extermination into account. The results may change if I ever see that game.

Round 3: Which one has the better atmosphere and theme sounds? I’d say silent hill due to that general silence in every game making any noise creepy.
Round 4: Which one is more dangerous? RE has the most dangerous ones like tyrant, Nemesis, etc.
Round 5: Which one has great characters? Silent hill and RE have some great characters such as Leon, James, etc. Tie
Round 6: Which Enemies/Monsters/Mutants, are better/Scary? Silent hill has some enemies that don’t stop till they kill you like Pyramid Head. Silent Hill

Something tells me that in the character round, is a hard one to me, cuz Silent Hill have Henry, Resident Evil have Leon, Extermination have Denis, is a tough one to me.

Have not heard that much about extermination but I do know that.
Resident evil used to be kind of scary sometimes but sucks now (not bad just no scary)
But silent hill is so scary it shat the pants of everyone who plays except downpour (which f*********g suuucckkeed)

Extermination scare the crap out of me 3 time then Resident Evil, & got me curios about whats goen on in the base you are,and bit and bit the game is gething more intense and serious then Silent Hill and Resident Evil combine.
I just Love It, its Horror/Suspence etc.^^
And Im a Huge Fan of Resident Evil,Silent Hill and Extermination.
@Polloloko Maybe I’ll check it out, I liked RE really liked silent hill but right now all I play is batman and my PS2 is cover up by mountains of stuff but you know maybe, I dont think I’ll be much use here till I figure out how to jump that crevice (I think thats from Extermination, IDK saw it in a compilation video of bad voice acting).

1. but silent hill has the best story and is the scariest in my opinion, it has a deep story that twists and turns with every inhabitant of the town while resident evil kind of got stale story wise then they gave everyone superpowers and uuhhh….
2. Silent hill is meant to get under your skin with psychological which turns everyday stuff into scary stuff (I’m not afraid of Pyramids and I’m not afraid of Head’s but F******K) but zombie tend not to scare me anymore but Incestuous Aryans they creep me out.
3. though resident evil has a climactic and cinematic soundtrack with all the zombie munching sounds and crows, Silent hill though has guitars solo’s, mandolin’s and the kind of real life sounds and music which were tailor made to get under your skin after you turn off the game.

Yea I like it Silent Hill 4 more then the others and the other Resident Evil Games, and there when Extermination comes into acount ^^

Extermination – Silent Hill > Resident Evil XD

And I remember in Extermination, that Cindy(The Girlfriend of Dennis that is the character that you use in the game) said to Dennis that if the virus inside of the base, gets out/airbone it could infect and destroy the human race/Mankind in 3 days and that cant be stop it will be imposible.
Thats preaty hardcore if you ask me.
I’m to lazy lately so I’m not going to explain very much.
Oh and I haven’t played Extermination so this is only considering SH and RE.
1: RE has come a long way with the same characters and plots while SH tends to switch plots every now and then.
RE for me.
2: Now days RE is more of an action game just run and gun, SH is meant to be psychological thus scaring is the only way the game gets to you.
I go with SH.
3:SH, it has a scary atmosphere and the music feats it well, RE never had music that stand out (my opinion), ”SH Shattered Memories” is a good example of good themes and atmosphere.
SH takes it for me.
4:Your pretty much fucked on both sides, but you can escape from SH, in RE you have to fight and that’s why your characters is trained by Chuck Norris.
I give it slightly to RE.
5: Same as the first one, RE proceeds with the same characters thus developing them even further, Wesker has past away and now we are looking at his sun.
So RE has better characters in my book.
6: Scary goes to SH, dangerous goes to RE and better?
I really don’t know what to say here, is it about their appearance or physical prowls.
I say tie.
7: RE, because nothing is better than pointing a 12-gauge to a zombies face and say ”hasta la vista”.

We have a whole match based on opinion I see.
havn’t heard of the middle one… hated silent hill movies, wasn’t that into the games (though i admit it one of them.. i think 4 gave em quite the scare).
and resident evil, the only one i liked was operation racoon city (but thats because you play as the company mooks for once, but sadly i was hoping to meet more company mooks so we mooks could be like actual mooks
sad )
but i have to say resident evil for 3-7.
and was anyone else peeved off by the second last op racoon city mission where clair redfield was running from you while firing that grenade launcher at you who was trying to dodge landmines? cause seriously that fuckin pissed me off so much… THEN SHE STARTED TAUNTING! *breaks down and cries into own gasmask*

Not only opinions, but I added a round 8 that is a Death Battle betwen the 3 of them.
I will say my review for Extermination (God I love that Game, PLZ make Sony do a HD version for the PS3)
Game: Extermination
Platform: PlayStation 2
Overview: At first I had such a hard time with it, but once I got used to the way it works. It was a fantastic game, so much work was put into it. And it payed off in a big way. This game is one of the hidden treasures of gaming history. One of those games that is amazingly great and its a shame barely anyone knows it exists. I would recommend it to any Resident evil fan. Or just a survival horror fan in general, its amazing. Although the voice acting isn’t as good as we would hope. But its not horrible, its tolerable. The man char Dennis Reilly gos though a lot, and as the game progresses you learn more and more about why he is there in the first place. Losing his best friend in battle and swearing on his life to protect Cindy. Dennis is a common protagonist, willing to sacrifice himself for others. And to save anyone he can, over the course of the game you’ll have to find a few things. But I don’t wanna go into to much detail, its really worth picking up yourself. If you like Resident evil or any other survival horror franchise. This game is one to check out, being a 2001 release its elusively for PS2. Sorry X-Boxers, but Sony owns this great title. The soundtrack sets the mood very well, and I did have fun playing it. Its worth at least a rent, a great challenge and plot isn’t that bad its self.
