Suggested by Aelfinn
Here we have two legends facing off against each other. First up is Dracula, one of the strongest Vampires to exist up against two-time Hall of Fame winner Link from the Legend of Zelda franchise.
Link is in his current incarnation. Dracula comes from Bram Stoker’s novel.
The fight takes place in an abandoned medieval city right after sundown.
The combatants start at opposite ends of the city.
Both combatants are well-fed and well-rested.
Who would win?

Well, I have not played much Zelda, so I can’t comment on that. But Dracula has shapeshifting (wolf, bat, mist, rats, etc.), can go out in the sunlight, weather control, hypnotism, pretty good strength, and he is almost unkillable when not in his coffin.
So current Link? Zelda timeline is split into 3 separate ones. So the current incarnation is either Spirit Tracks, Four Sword Adventures or Adenture of Link versions of Link
-
www.zeldauniverse.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/timeline.jpg
-
Pick one
The original Dracula? Not sure on what all he can do.
-
Anyway, there are 3 “current” incarnation Links, hopefully Aelfinn will show up to specify Link’s equipment/magic/ect.
-
Also, cool Link picture, anybody got the link for it?
I’ll just go over the specifics of what the 3 current Links on the 3 timelines have.
-
Legend of Zelda/Link’s Awakening Link has a lot of good magic spells as well as Silver Arrows, which should do quite a bit of harm to Dracula since they have evil’s bane properties.
-
Spirit Tracks Link isn’t very impressive at all aside from having the Bow of Light, which makes any arow a Light Arrow at no expense to magic cost. He also has the Lokomo Sword, which has weaker evil’s bane propeties then the Master Sword I think.
-
I’ve never played Four Swords Adventures, but that Link obviously has the Four Sword. The Four Sword has evil’s bane properties, just not as much as the Master Sword. Four diffeent Link’s also has it’s obvious advantages.
Doesn’t the Four Sword have fairies in it?
-
I saw hypnotism in the list of abilities. I can’t recall if Link has ever fought or has ever been entranced by anything like that.
-
My initial vote goes to Link, seeing as he’s literally born to to fight beings like Dracula.
“Doesn’t the Four Sword have fairies in it?”
A hundered or so, yeah.
Since no one else has said I, this won’t be a redundant comment
, but I think this is a stomp for link unless he can get hypnotized because link has been able to take on some seriously heavy hitters, keep in mind just to be able to fight ganondorf and win is pretty amazing seeing some of gannon’s feats. Kharn got a legit FP award after the Kharn vs. Link match and the fact the kharn got an FP award meant it wasn’t a stomp but a legitimate victory, and we all know dracula would get squashed instantly against kharn so I think Link has this in the bag.
Well, by current incarnation I had intended it to be Skyward Sword. If anyone wants to debate the propriety of that choice, I’m fine with that. In all honesty, though, I had thought that it didn’t particularly matter what incarnation we used. The only thing that’s going to matter is if Link has something to penetrate Dracula’s heart and whether he has something Holy to keep Dracula off of him. I felt the Master Sword fit both necessities.
@Crimson Sentry:
“link has been able to take on some seriously heavy hitters, keep in mind just to be able to fight ganondorf and win is pretty amazing seeing some of gannon’s feats.”
-
Not when you have the necessary equipment, it’s not.
-
“Kharn got a legit FP award after the Kharn vs. Link match and the fact the kharn got an FP award meant it wasn’t a stomp but a legitimate victory, and we all know dracula would get squashed instantly against kharn so I think Link has this in the bag.”
-
That started back in 2008. So the rules were probably different then. Unless you think Master Chief had any chance against Superman. Oh, wait, that was posted in 2008, too. Oops.
-
Since I’ve never read Dracula, I suppose I will need to use secondary sources.
-
*Dracula studied black magic at the academy of Scholomance.
-
*He is proficient in alchemy and magic.
-
*He took up the rank of Voivode, which is a warlord, a principal commander of a military force. He is said by Van Helsing, “He must indeed have been that Voivode Dracula who won his name against the Turk, over the great river on the very frontier of Turkey-land. If it be so, then was he no common man: for in that time, and for centuries after, he was spoken of as the cleverest and the most cunning, as well as the bravest of the sons of the land beyond the forest.” I believe “the land beyond the forest” is where the name “Transylvania” comes from.
-
*Dracula was able to shapeshift into a bat, a wolf, a large dog, and fog. He can even shrink his size to fit through tiny cracks and crevices.
-
*His strength is equal to that of 20 strong men.
-
*The only way to kill Dracula is by decapitating him and then driving a stake into his heart. It doesn’t matter what kind of object. Or using silver bullets (I assume anything silver), wooden stakes, iron and/or steel weapons, wild rose, holy water.
-
*Dracula can remain inactive for centuries. (Perhaps Dracula could wait for Link to die of old age?)
-
*I suppose he could levitate. He can also teleport.
-
*He has telepathic and hypnotic abilities.
-
*He needs Transylvanian soil to rest, although drinking blood will rejuvenate him.
I don’t remember Dracula doing a lot of those things, Dryn. Then again, it’s been ages since I last read the novel. Gonna have to dig it up when I have the chance.
does link(spirit tracks) have any vampire hunting equipment and or experience? if not he dies horribly…..
Doesn’t Drac need like a ten step process in order to die?
“Or using silver bullets (I assume anything silver), ”
-
Silver is never mentioned in the book, but you are right, any object can stab him or cut off his head.
-
“Doesn’t Drac need like a ten step process in order to die?”
-
He just needs to be stabbed in the heart and decapitated. In dealing with other vampires, they would stuff garlic into the mouth, but I believe Dracula just disintegrated.
-
Here is an explanation of Dracula’s abilities, given directly by Van Helsing:
-
“This vampire which is amongst us is of himself so strong in person as twenty men; he is of cunning more than mortal, for his cunning be the growth of ages; he have still the aids of necromancy, which is, as his etymology imply, the divination by the dead, and all the dead that he can come nigh to are for him at command; he is brute, and more than brute: he is devil in callous, and the heart of him is not; he can, within limitations, appear at will when, and where, and in any of the forms that are to him; he can, within his range, direct the elements: the storm, the fog, the thunder; he can command all the meaner things: the rat, and the owl, and the bat – the moth, and the fox, and the wolf; he can grow and become small; and he can at times vanish and become unknown.”
-
Later on:
-
“He can transform himself to wolf… he can be as bat. He can come in mist which he create – that noble ship’s captain proved him of this; but from what we know, the distance he can make this mist is limited, and it can only be round himself. He can come on moonlight rays as elemental dust… He can become so small – we ourselves saw Miss Lucy, ere she was at peace, slip through a hairbreadth space at the tomb door. He can, when once he find his way, come out from anything or into anything, no matter how close it be bound or even fused up with fire – solder you call it. He can see in the dark – no small power this, in a world which is one half shut from the light… He can do all these things, yet he is not free. Nay; he is even more prisoner than the slave of the galley, than the madman in his cell. He cannot go where he lists; he who is not of nature has yet to obey some of nature’s laws – why we know not. He may not enter anywhere at the first, unless there be some one of the household who bid him to come; though afterwards he can come as he please. His power ceases, as does that of all evil things, at the coming of the day. Only at certain times can he have limited freedom. If he be not at the place whither he is bound, he can only change himself at noon or at exact sunrise or sunset… It is said, too, that he can only pass running water at the slack or the flood of the tide. Then there are things which so afflict him that he has no power, as the garlic that we know of; and as for things sacred, as this symbol, my crucifix…”
-
Later:
-
“My friends, we are going into a terrible danger, and we need arms of many kinds. Our enemy is not merely spiritual. Remember that he has the strength of twenty men, and that, though our necks or our windpipes are of the common kind – and therefore breakable or crushable – his are not amenable to mere strength. A stronger man, or a body of men more strong in all than him, can at certain times hold him; but yet they cannot hurt him as we can be hurt by him.”
Does anybody have speed and reaction feats for both fighters?
“Does anybody have speed and reaction feats for both fighters?”
-
The two are pretty close, at least in reaction times. Link is an arrow-timer (from what I’ve heard), and Dracula has Demon-speed or something like it.
-
“Suddenly with a single bound he leaped into the room, winning a way past us before any of us could raise a hand to stay him… Harker evidently meant to try the matter, for he had ready his great Kukri knife, and made a fierce and sudden cut at him. The blow was a powerful one; only the diabolical quickness of the Count’s leap back saved him… The next instant, with a sinuous dive he swept under Harker’s arm, ere his blow could fall, and grasping a handful of the money from the floor, dahsed across the room, threw himself at the window.”
The best I see THIS link doing is stabbing the vamp with an arrow(would that count as a wooden stake?). If only it was twilight princess link at least he’d have a wooden sword.
Guys, I said I needed secondary sources, so if I was wrong, I’m sorry. :/ Anyway, Aelfinn, that’s cool about Dracula.
Does Dracula regenerate? I assume he has human like durability and can be cut to pieces. And what much is there to living if your cut into 200 pieces (assuming he can’t regenerate).
On the other hand, I don’t know much about link except that he is overpowered at times.
Skyward Sword Link then eh?
-
Alright, he has the Master Sword, which should be able to finish off Dracula. He also has the Gaurdian Potion, which harden’s his skin to the point of invincibility for 3 minutes.
Well I dunno where to lean on this one. On one hand, Link was born to kill guys like Dracula. On the other, the incarnation of Link we re using isn’t his best. In my opinion this match comes down to speed. One solid hit from Dracula should put Link down, and vice versa.
==
Question, would Link have to hit Dracula in the heart? Or would any body part suffice since the sword has evil’s bane. From what I remember, Dracula has never been hit with a weapon made to destroy evil. He mainly gets hit by stakes and swords and shit.
I’d say evil’s bane would hurt Dracula no matter where it hit’s him.
@Negative Zero
If Dracula is in his “mist” form how’s link gonna even hit him??
What can Dracula even do in his “mist” form?

““*His strength is equal to that of 20 strong men.” -proto mind.”
And he got this, how? Either way, being as strong as 20 other people is impressive.
-
“^IDK suffocate him… and be intangible.”
Gonna need something better then “IDK”.
Well, if we went with 800 and multiplied that by 20, that would be 16,000 pounds, which is 8 tons. From what I checked for Link in Skyward Sword, he was around 4 or 5 tons if I recall correctly.
-
Dracula is also able to scale walls in a reptilian manner from what I’ve read. So he is agile. I think Dracula has a chance at winning here. And since it’s night time, that should be advantageous.
Also if somebody doesn’t mind, can you post that picture of Link? It looks badass lol.
“What can Dracula even do in his “mist” form?”
-
He’s intangible so there’s nothing he can do. However this does allow him modes of escape as well as sneak attacks since he can reform behind Link and jam his sword/claws up his ass. Also the ability to shape shift and cling to walls boosts this. And since this takes place in a medieval city I’m assuming there a rats and wild dogs about that he can use as a distraction. All in all I’m going with Dracula. It would have been better to go with Marvel’s version though.
What if Composite Dragonborn and Standard Link fought?
@Negative Zero
Suffocating. i mean he is mist. he could get into link’s system and the hero of time wouldn’t be any the wiser and cause this as to my knowledge mist is just water vapor: wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_dry-land_drowning

Actually, probably LoZ/AoL Link. Spirit Tracks and FSA are both some 200 years before even LttP occures, and LoZ/AoL is generations after that. Chronologically speaking, LoZ/AoL is much further on the timeline than any other event.
What?

^Okay thanks. So does link have anything to counter Dracula causing him to simply dry land drown?
Man most people must be off viewing the Olympics huh? Oh well I figure my argument will be tackled later.
On the silver thing:
===
“Within stood a tall old man, clean shaven save for a long white moustache, and clad in black from head to foot, without a single speck of colour about him anywhere. He held in his hand an antique silver lamp, in which the flame burned without chimney or globe of any kind, throwing long quivering shadows as if it flickered in the draught of the open door The old man otioned me in with his right hand with a courtly gesture, saying in excellent English, but with a strange intonation:–
-
‘Welcome to my house! Enter freely of your own will!’ He made no motion of stepping to meet me, but stood like a statue, as thought his gesture of welcome had fixed him into stone.”

SPLIT TIMELINE!
-
OoT ends with three different timeline ends.
-
One end leads to the “Adult Timeline”. Within the Adult Timeline, within 100 years after the events of OoT, Ganon escapes and the world is flooded. Around 100 years after OoT, Wind Waker happens. 100 years after Wind Waker, Spirit Tracks occures. Total time in that timeline is roughly 200 years.
-
In the “Child Timeline”, 100 years after OoT, TP occures. About 100 years after TP, FSA occurse. Thus 200 years are spent over the course of the Child Timeline.
-
In the “Decline Timeline” (where Link fails to stop Ganon), Ganon gets sealed away for 400 years! At the end of the 400 years LttP occurs. This already puts it well beyond Spirit Tracks and FSA by two centuries. Several generations pass after LttP untill the events of LoZ occures. This means that the Decline Timeline is some 400++ Years “long” while the other two timelines are roughtly 200 years “long” each.
-
I’ve ommited several events in all timelines because they merely occure during the large gaps of time and are not needed to make my point. The Decline timeline contains several more centuries of accumulated in-universe history ergo it is “furthest” on the timeline and by factpile rules that makes it “current”.
-
Also, the events of each timeline has greatly shaped each Hyrule. Magic is almost dead in FSA. Spirit Tracks only uses large scale magic while everyday stuff is mundane. LoZ era Hyrule has a master magician in every town.
-
Oh, and centuries before Skyward Sword (the first game in the entire timeline) there were people with tech that rivals modern day electronic usage. Clearly that have been several events that have caused lost technology in the histories of Hyrule.
-
It is implied that LoZ/AoL era Hyrule has been raized to the ground multiple times. The map for LttP is very close to the map of LoZ (LoZ is the sequal to LttP). In LttP there is a Hyrule Casle and a Kakariko village. In LoZ, these places are replaced with a giant dead tree with a dungeon built under/in it (implying that all that remains of the castle is the foundation) and the village is replaced with a very large graveyard.

@Alpha or Omega
Dracula goes into links lungs=
wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_dry-land_drowning
Yeah, I’m going to ask for confirmation that Dracula can do that.
-
Aside from that, SS Link’s lungs aren’t what we would consider exactly normal. He can breath superheated air as well as heavily oxygenated water. He litterally sucks in airbubbles while underwater and gains air from it instead of hopelessly drowning himself.
-
I’m not seeing him drowing here. Not with bullshit feats like that, and an unproven claim from you, since, you know, Dracula never actually did that.
-
“Couldn’t the Master Sword affect the mist anyway since the mist is Dracula and Dracula is evil anyway?”
-
The Master Sword is inconsistant when it comes to things like this. From recollection (could be flawed I admit) throughout the series the Master Sword sometimes does and sometimes does not throw away mist and mist-like attacks. Link would be better off with his giant leaf blower here as that can dependably blow away light objects.
The thing is, Dracula is NOT intangible while he is mist. I don’t think he can be killed, as he has no heart or brain, but there is a scene where Renfield catches a hold of the mist and is able to hold it there using his wacko-strength. Dracula had to turn into his human form to deal with him. If Dracula would become intangible, he’d have to become that “elemental dust on moonlight” stuff.
-
Dracula does not need to be stabbed with a wooden stake. He was killed by two iron/steel daggers.
-
“Also if somebody doesn’t mind, can you post that picture of Link? It looks badass lol.”
-
I think this whole banner is one of the best on Factpile. It looks really good.
-
In terms of Dracula controlling animals, he can summon thousands of rats at once. How effective they are, well, is up to discussion.
@OriginalA
“Yeah, I’m going to ask for confirmation that Dracula can do that.”
—-
Dracula can turn into mist(basically almost a gas in a sense),dry land drowning is caused by a SMALL amount of water entering the lungs(mist is water in the air) hence unless link wants to puncture his lungs either way he dies due to lack of air.
Well, since the battle starts at opposite ends of the city, wouldn’t Link have enough time to go on to a roof and hit Dracula with the Bow/Arrow, or does Dracula have a way to reach Link before he does that?
/

While I’m not sure my self but the Master Sword in Skyward Sword sealed Demise when he was evaporated into a mist. Not sure if it would work if Dracula is in a mist form, and that would be assuming he would be in a mist-form though.

Where did you find the image?
Oh, I didn’t get the image. Admin must have. I was just appreciating it as well.
@Aelfinn
Ah, thanks anyways lol.
@Alpha or Omega
link likes to attack nonthreatening mist with his sword usually? I never recalled that in the games…. Thus he’ll take a calm breath then die due to dry land drowning eventually.
“dry land drowning is caused by a SMALL amount of water entering the lungs”
-
Link can suck in air while underwater without magical aid. I think that puts his lungs at “fuck you I’m drinking air”. Again, I don’t see how this is a problem for him when he can drink air bubbles while underwater. If you tried this is real life you would drowned. Link doesn’t drown when he does it so he must be able to seperate out water from air within his lungs better than a normal person. Add in the fact that Dracula’s mist isn’t super fine and in fact grabable… Mist that thick would not be able to enter a person’s mouth.
Anyway, I’d say Link can physically overpower Dracula based on those videos I posted.
-
And yeah, the master Sword should be able to just absorb Dracula’s man-mist. If not, then the Gust Bellows should keep it away.
-
Not to mention a Guardian Potion should keep Link relatively safe from harm.
-
Skyward Sword Link also has the Sacred Bow, it hugely increases the force and impact of arrows fired from it, making every arrow hit hard. May not do anything to piss Dracula off though, but at least it should get his attention lol.
-
Link can also quickly burrow underground with the Mogma Mitts.
So…is the mist only grab-able or can physical objects touch it?
@OriginalA
“Link can suck in air while underwater”

^Post a “link”(you know the type i mean..i hope) please show me proof of this. either way if dracula’s inside link. What can he possibly do?

Suggest that match. Define “Composite Dragonborn”. Do you mean like a mage/assasssin/warrior/archer kind of composite? Because there are no other Dragonborns with enough feats.

@gendrons
We all know what mist is, and we all know what dry land drowning is. The point is Dracula has never done that, it doesn’t mean he can’t, but CIS won’t allow a character to do something they wouldn’t normally do.

dracula’s average of 8 ton lifting strength is superior to link in skyward swords 5 ton range.

“link likes to attack nonthreatening mist with his sword usually? I never recalled that in the games…. Thus he’ll take a calm breath then die due to dry land drowning eventually.”
-
1) Gust Bellows. Link uses a magical super powerful leaf blower to keep Mist-Dracula away from him. Link isn’t stupid and his sword can sense evil. He will know it is evil mist and keep it away with the propriat tool.
2) TP Link did use his sword against mist in Twilight Princess. Other Links have used other weapons against similar threats. WW Link used a Deku Leaf and ST Link uses a magical weapon that creates small wirlwinds. Other Links I know, but you were also citing other gameS… Plural, despite SS Link only being in a single game.
“dracula’s average of 8 ton lifting strength”
Proof?
If Dracula has the strength of 20 men..
-
The average human weighs 180lbs and can lift his own body weight
-
180*20=3600lbs
-
Converting to kg and we get 1632.93kg
-
Convert that to tons 1.8 tons
-
So Dracula is Class 2 ish
-
If SS Link is a Class 5 or so, Link would be capable of overpowering Dracula strengthwise (he’d be 2.5 times stronger than Dracula at least)
@Stealth
Why must we use average men?
Also, SS Link has Air Potions. Unlimited air for three minutes when he drinks one. That means that if he drinks one he cannot physically drowned for at least three minutes regardless of how much water fills his lungs.
He also has Stamina Potions. Three minutes of never tiring out.
“Why must we use average men?”
-
Because I say so, thats why
-
But srsly, average figures are normally used for such calcs
@StealthRanger
Huh I used an average since they were “strong men” so a went to 800lbs. as the max ever lifted by a human was 1015lbs.
—
that put dracula at the 8 ton range.
@Negative Zero
proto-mind post 26…..8 tons via 800 lbs for lifting strength of “strong men”
“So…is the mist only grab-able or can physical objects touch it?”
-
I would assume that phsyical objects could touch it if it were grabbed.
“Huh I used an average since they were “strong men” so a went to 800lbs. as the max ever lifted by a human was 1015lbs.
—

/
That’s assuming it actually meant max strength of strong men, not to mention, this could be a hyperbole or a false statement.
/
Either way, strength could be a non-factor if Link can kill/seal him before Dracula kills him.
“I would assume that phsyical objects could touch it if it were grabbed.”
/
Well either way, The Skyward Sword version of the Master Sword was shown to seal Demise when he was reduced to a mist.
@Alpha or Omega
Show me a psychotic link who like’s to stab anything(like mere mist). If not link dies cause the vamp gets the drop on him.
—–
The max is 1015 lbs i went 215lbs less for this strong man calc.
How is Dracula going to find Link exactly?
-
and, you know, quotes to back it up.
All right, this is kind of getting out of control. First, we don’t know if Dracula will try to drown Link, although I suppose it could be possible for him to enter Link’s lungs and then reform to his normal size, killing Link from the inside out. That doesn’t necessarily mean he has that in mind.
-
I don’t know why Link would find mist to be peculiar, that it would cause him to try doing something about it. While Aelfinn said the mist does not make Dracula intangible, I believe this is what is referred to as logia intangibility.
-
Aside from that, Dracula can change his size or become an animal. Is Link honestly going to think, “Hm, this animal seems suspicious”? Neither character knows anything about the other, although from the powers I listed (and correct me if I am wrong), Dracula has telepathy and hypnotic powers. He can also teleport.
-
In terms of warfare and tactics, I’d give that to Dracula, since he was a warlord, and he is described as possessing cleverness and cunning. He can also control the elements and animals, so I don’t see why summoning these would be out of the question to aid him.
-
As for a pack of rats, that can be pretty problematic, and being focused on one thing tends to distract people from noticing anything else. This is found in the perception test where people pass a basketball around and the viewer doesn’t notice the man in the gorilla suit because they’re focused on something else.
Well, this website says that a novice, 181 lb dead-lifter can pick up 274 lbs, and an intermediate lifter can dead-lift 315 lbs. Considering Link would use most of his strength to push something like the log, this would be a good comparison. 20 times 295 would be a 5,900 lbs dead-lift.
-
www.livestrong.com/article/393011-how-much-can-the-average-man-weight-lift/
-
So something like 3 tons, but that’s only if we’re going by novice-to-intermediate level. I would like to know, though, exactly where this 4-5 ton feat was for Link.
“Show me a psychotic link who like’s to stab anything(like mere mist). If not link dies cause the vamp gets the drop on him.”
/
So we are assuming a mist that’s going towards Link and Link only, and assume he’s going to stand there and say “hur dur?” Even a normal human would know something would be going on.
All in all Dracula has the drop on link unless this incarnation is a paranoid maniac.
I have a question.
What are the feats of the hypnotic and telepathy of Bram’s Dracula?
-Mind Read?
-Control Minds?
-Illusions?
etc.
@Alpha or Omega:
“I have a question.

I don’t know where that’s found, but that’s why I wanted to be corrected on this. I did read that Dracula is cordial and I suppose has a way with charming. Trusting someone can put you off guard.
“Dracula has telepathy and hypnotic powers.”
-
This normally only happens to sleeping/sleep-walkers or people that he has already sucked the blood out of or something like that. It shouldn’t be a big factor in this fight.
-
Even if Link is stronger than Drac, it must be noted that Van Helsing makes a point that even if he would be over-powered, he wouldn’t be hurt by sheer strength.
-
@mr. gendrons
-
Drowning someone isn’t even listed as a possibility of things that Drac would or could do. It shouldn’t be considered.
What if Dracula had a way of approaching Link and drinking his blood? I mean, think of it this way. What if Dracula conjured up some animals to distract Link and then went in for the bite?
-
I know people like Link here, and I don’t wish to say they’re bias, but I really do think Dracula has a chance in this battle. And I’m not even saying he would have the advantage against every Link incarnation.
Wouldn’t Dracula controlling random animals be outside help? He cannot create them on his own can he? So they would exist normally until he called on them, yeah? Outside help and thus a non-factor.
-
“I suppose it could be possible for him to enter Link’s lungs and then reform to his normal size, killing Link from the inside out.”
-
And how do you know this is even possible? It could be that Dracula requires free space in order to reform himself and Link’s body would prevent that. The mist form is tangible enough to be held by hand so there are limits to its ability to seep through solid objects. And the human body cannot contain enough mist, especially a mist so thick, for Dracula’s entire body so at best it is Dracula’s arm down Link’s throat… except that is a semi-solid arm trying to become more solid with a firmly solid object (link’s teeth) in the way of its reformation. Show me Dracula telefrag someone before you make this claim!
-
Sorry for off-topicness, is anyone impressed or awed by the performance that’s performed in the London Olympics?
/
Anyway, how fast is Dracula during combat?
“Is Link honestly going to think, “Hm, this animal seems suspicious”? ”
-
Let me ask a counter question: name one animal aside from Epona (or his red loftwing) that Link hasn’t attacked? Dodongos? He’s killed them. Cuccos? running gag that he smacks them up regularly. Bats and birds? recurring enemy. Remilts (cat-like)? He’ll smack them up. Bugs? He’ll either squash them or sell them. Rats? common foe.
-
The only animals that he doesn’t attack often and quickly are those that are obviously tamed and damesticated or sentiant. Most of these types of animals are the kind that he grows up with (horses for TP, loftwings for SS) the other exceptions are when he finds sentiant animals (animal village in LA, the animal buddies in Oracles, random animals from TP although they fall all over the place as some he has grown up with and others he just met, but it helps that he can talk to animals in wolf form).
-
I’m not seeing where you are coming from here. More often than not Link kills things if it appears to be a random animal.
@OriginalA:

I’m not sure. Look at the Omega Pirate, or Quadraxis, or the Lich King, or even Ghirahim. There is a rule about summoning, so I’m curious where this falls. Even if that does count as outside help, he still can control the weather, if that helps any.
-
“And how do you know this is even possible?”
-
I don’t. Reading comics makes me think about things like this sometimes. After reading about the Atom when he fought Hawkman and Hawkgirl in The Blackest Knight, and after watching him reform his size to destroy Hawkgirl’s skull, I thought, “Wow, I have more respect for the Atom now”.
-
Even then, I did admit that Dracula probably wouldn’t do this anyway. Of course, the reason was because I don’t think it’s his character to do so.
-
“It could be that Dracula requires free space in order to reform himself and Link’s body would prevent that.”
-
That is possible.
-

I’m not sure if Dracula has enough control like that while he is in his mist form.
Gosh, OriginalA, Link should be tossed in prison for animal cruelty. Haha!
For some reason, I don’t think Skyloft enforces animal cruelty on anything except Loft Wings.
/
That explains Link catching birds and bugs with nets, and killing Crows(Or Sparrows?) freely at night.
/
Also, I wonder about something, I remember some guy giving me dusk relics when they can only be obtained canonly in silent realms and that person never went to a silent realm.
“. Look at the Omega Pirate, or Quadraxis, or the Lich King, or even Ghirahim. ”
-
Omega Pirate is not allowed to call on extra space pirates when he fights on Factpile. Quadraxis never called on any help in his fight at all; not sure why you brought it up. Lich King is allowed to revive existing dead bodies if the field already has them (or if he killed someone already in the fight) but he cannot call on his existing undead horde. I don’t think Ghirahim is allowed his allies either.
-
The factpile rule is that if a character can create his ally would of the character’s own skills or magics then it is allowed. If the ally is a preexisting character then it is not allowed. Take Cloud Strife for example: he is allowed to call on his Summons because he uses his magic to create the summon out of nothing. He creates a being with magic. It did not exist before he summoned it. Alternatively, he cannot summon Tifa by using his cell phone because she already exists. Cloud cannot create Tifa so she isn’t allowed in Cloud’s fight despite that in canon he can call her for help.
-
So where the Factpile rules are concerned, if Dracula can create these animals out of his abilities than it is totally okay to do so. If he is just mind controling/commanding random animals that would otherwise be completely mundane and normal, than it is not okay and outside help.
“Gosh, OriginalA, Link should be tossed in prison for animal cruelty. Haha!”
-
Also kleptomania. He steals a lot of rupees and equipment. Think of all the tombs he’s raided. All the fortunes he has taken. All those chests in Hyrule castle? Royal property!
-
“Also, I wonder about something, I remember some guy giving me dusk relics when they can only be obtained canonly in silent realms and that person never went to a silent realm.”

I’m going to call honest game mechanics to prevent farming. If they were not buyable (and I know they are) they would be a completely missable item that the player would have no possible way of collecting beyond a certain point. Since they are required for certain upgrades this would be devastating to the upgrade system of the game, as you now have crippled yourself for the rest of the game by missing a few of these items. All other items are farmable, but not Dusk Relics (again, beyond a certain point). So, yeah, game mechanics for game balance (I guess anyways). Although Zelda is usually pretty good at not doing exactly this kind of thing.
-
That said, the treasure mechanic of SS, ST, and PH create small plot holes like this. The items, because of their game mechanic, are required to be recollectable. The items themselves can be unique, like Princess Ruto’s crown. Either she had tons of crowns or game mechanics created several copies. *shrug*
@OriginalA:
I thought the Omega Pirate did summon the Pirate Troopers in one of the battles on FP. Quadraxis seems to create the mini versions during the battle, but only when Samus had to shut down Quadraxis’ shielding. Ghirahim was allowed to use his summons, although I was thinking he used magic for that. Anyway, I do see your point, so I’ll concede.
Anyway, can Dracula do the summoning to the same effect as Ghirahim?
“I thought the Omega Pirate did summon the Pirate Troopers in one of the battles on FP. ”
-
I think this was discussed then shut down in the Master Chief vs Omega Pirate fight.
-
“Quadraxis seems to create the mini versions during the battle, but only when Samus had to shut down Quadraxis’ shielding. ”
-
Watched video. It seems Quadraxis stores the mini versions within its “head”. Not sure if legal on factpile. Hmm.
-
“Ghirahim was allowed to use his summons, although I was thinking he used magic for that. ”
-
You know, I was much more sure that this wasn’t allowed for him up till about 5 minutes ago. He talks to them like they already exist, but they appear from thin air as if he created them from magic. He might have been teleporting them but that isn’t stated nor implied elsewhere. Tough call and with not enough information to give a decisive answer. I’m of the opinion that he was merely teleporting them to his location and not creating them from nothing and as such should not be allowed to use them.
@gendrons
FP rules state that every character knows the other guy is trying to kill him. They will not be at a passive demeanor. Link won’t decapitate anything that moves, but he will be cautious. Especially if a cloud of mist is moving at him. I’m not on anyone’s side as of yet. I still think Dracula could pull out a win as long as he can dodge the sword blows from Link. And Link can pull out a win if he can get past Drac’s magic and trickery.
===
Question, I hear alot of talk about potions. Are these potions Link’s standard loadout? Does he always carry them around? I know that whatever weapons he gets throughout the story are allowed. But if he has to buy the do we count them as SL? That’s like saying Dragonborn gets all his potions in a fight. Which would render him pretty much unbeatable.
“But if he has to buy the do we count them as SL?”
-
If they allow him to fight at “maximum effectiveness” they are allowed by the factpile rules. I think it is within the battle incarnation rule.
-
“That’s like saying Dragonborn gets all his potions in a fight.”
-
Why would he not get them?
This match is proving itself better than Super Dimentio vs Overlord Zetta, so far.
Question is this:
Can they keep it up?
*Return to Kombat*
Its been a while since I recalled reading Dracula, man Drake here was just a PAIN for anyone to fight and destroy even in the original text, wasn’t he?
Link can also charge up Skyward Strikes to attack Dracula from a distance with.
“Link can also charge up Skyward Strikes to attack Dracula from a distance with.”
/
To be fair, I think Link would use the bow/arrow instead since the most upgraded one is more powerful, accurate, and covers more distance.
“To be fair, I think Link would use the bow/arrow instead since the most upgraded one is more powerful, accurate, and covers more distance.”
Yes, but the Skyward Strike has that evil’s bane bite to it, unlike the arrows.
On post 45, Aelfinn said he was killed by iron/steel daggers so I assume the arrows would do fine.
Like a sniper. (Though skyward strikes are bigger)
>==> ____(distance)_________________Dracula.

But Proto-Mind did say he could teleport, but how far is the question.(Another question is that is it instant? Are there certain variables about the teleportation?)
“Then there are things which so afflict him that he has no power, as the garlic that we know of; and as for things sacred, as this symbol, my crucifix, that was amongst us even now when we resolve, to them he is nothing, but in their presence he takes his place far off and silent with respect.”
-
Dracula is weak to sacred objects. Link’s bow is sacred, hence the Sacred Bow.
-
And interesting turn: Link (all of them) generally has bucket loads of holy, enchanted, sacred, Light, and all round divine weaponary. But within the context of his universe only Evil’s Bane (Demon’s bane) really matters because the demons from the Zeldaverse don’t give a shit against everything else. Now Link is fighting an enemy that DOES fall weak to everything that is holy, light, divine, and sacred; Link’s “lesser” weapons should be more powerful against this foe than against his typical grand enemy.
-
Also, according to the item description of the Sacred Bow: You have upgraded to the Sacred Bow! It uses a sacred power of the goddess to rain a terrible force upon your enemies.
-
It is enchanced with sacred power. I doubt Dracula will handle that well.

14:23 for Sacred Bow description. It’s the same as what I posted, but, well, proof.
