I heard they wanted to put a ban on fireworks though.

Or maybe it has to do with how little rain we have been getting. With everything being dry and at a high risk of fire, fireworks would be very dangerous. At least that is why there aren’t going to be any displays around where I live.
Yeah, I know a guy who threw a firecracker in a ditch and ended up setting half his property on fire. The conditions are really bad for fireworks at the moment – which is why the Colorado wildfires have hit over 17,000 acres.

That’s always the reason for the ban on fireworks. Too dry, no fireworks for you.

I’m very glad they shoot ours off over water, they haven’t ever had to cancel them because it’s too dry.
Hopefully speaking they didn’t do an outright ban on fireworks where I live, otherwise we’d have problems on our hands.
Happy 4th of July everyone!

I normally try not to out right promote breaking the law (here, anyways, because it’s admin’s respectable website and all).. but seriously, fuck the law in this case. Get your fire works. Set them off. Yeah, it’s dangerous, but you know the risk. Don’t let some nanny hold-your-hand law keep you from enjoying your 4th of July if that’s how you want to celebrate it, so long as you understand and accept whatever the current risks are. Although this year I’ll be going to a display at the river.. because frankly, professionals can set off a bigger boom than the “at-the-legal-limit” mortars you can pick up at any dealer.

The past week, my whole neighborhood has sounded like a warzone from all the people setting off fireworks and the police helicopters being called out to get them. Some arrests were given last night, actually.
I mean, would it kill it to be on a Friday or Monday

Waldo fire (worst fire in Colorado History) burning, 14 out of 16 counties declaring Critical Level drought and above, Pine Beetles creating vast swathes of dead and very flammable trees, extreme isolation of some towns-Yes, there is a very good reason they’re controlling firework usage in my state.

@CC: Kinda weird. As I was reading your post, as soon as I read “4th of July”, the announcer at Wimbledon said that, too. Happy 4th everyone! Anyone celebrating the 14th?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OOSAH! (USA not U.S.A. for people who don’t spell things phonetically and those not smart enough to realize that USA is an achronym not a word).
BUUUTT still. WOOT for Oosah and the U. S. A. Happy birhtday Country!
… No fireworks? I’ve seen a crap ton of fireworks today. Also, I’m back, now get in line and on your knees so you can worship and appreciate my greatness!
NO fireworks for meh…. *sadface* but whatever I had my fill when I lived in Las Vegas and Naples, Italy. Trust me Napels italy has the craziest fireworks every New Year and Las Vegas is quite high budget.
I heard they wanted to put a ban on fireworks though.

Its 7:19 P.M and its still too bright!
HAHAHAHA. It’s 9:23 for me. I am 2 HOOOOLE/whole hours/ours ahead of you/ewe.
Where do you live?
I live north of California, actually.
Just be glad I’m no longer so psuedo-eager to repress my emotions is all, that’s actually a bad thing if I try to do that.
I’m sad, there was no fireworks in my location…….
I’m sadder, its too bright for fireworks. T_T
I thought you guys knew…I have certainly said it enough. I live in Texas. Just outside of Dallas/Fort Worth.
Fireworks are going off like crazy here – even m-80′s too!
I decided to see what would happen when you shoot and M-80 into the air like a firework. Turned out surprisingly well.
