He’d probably be scared of the things the Doctor has seen, Dream Lord seemed to have a lot of the same basic powers as Freddy as well,
Yeah, I was about to say he probably gets beaten, or driven out, but I didn’t know who the Dream Lord was. Now I’ve researched, I think Freddy loses.
I think Freddy would not be scared unless there was a mirror or if he is brought into the real world since not even Jason was able to scare or kill Him
Yeah darkest aspects of the Doctor standing against you, in his domain at that, hate to be the sap there.
yes I’m sure Jason’s mind has similar memories to the Doctors, things like alien war armadas invading earth, the destruction of reality itself! This isn’t a half brain dead serial killing machete wielding zombie guy with momma issues. It’s a guy who has saved the universe more times than freaking Voltron. A man with over 900 years of experience battling creatures from the darkest reaches of the universe. A man who has looked the devil in the eye, who’s name causes armies of microscopic piranha like creatures to flee in horror. That causes aliens capable of destroying the planet that nearly killed lots of innocents to get one criminal to shit themselves when he reveals himself. This isn’t a terrified teenager Freddy is going after, it’s a man who has laughed at fear and death and told them to take a fucking hike. Freddy has never faced someone like the Doctor.

I just love the image of Freddy coming to get the Doctor in his head, but suddenly having the scenery around him change, and finally getting a taste of his own medicine.
Freddy dies. But to a quality character.
Freddy is from Hell, so I’m sure he’s seen pretty bad stuff too.
Oh I’m.sure he has but he hasn’t seen things like the Doctor has faced
Wouldn’t Hell be the worst thing possible? Then again, he worked for Hell, he wasn’t being punished there. So, he wouldn’t be as affected as a normal person, but still affected, right?
Freddy is employed by Hell. Let me repeat that. Hell. Why in god’s name would Freddy be scared of space aliens and war when he is employed by the place that exists for the sole purpose of endlessly and infinitely torturing peoples’ souls? Wtf is worse than endless pain, suffering, and torture? From what I learned from MC vs Freddy, Freddy has dream demons literally assume control of the dream. It dosn’t matter how brave you are or how many scary things you faced, all that matters is that he now controls your dream and wants to kill you.
Technically, the Doctor defeated the Devil in Satan Pit I think.
“Technically, the Doctor defeated the Devil in Satan Pit I think.”
-
And every adaptation of the Devil is the same?
No, but I meant to add that the Doctor has faced something besides aliens and monsters and won.
The Doctor defeated something that seems like the devil, or claimed to be. It was just a particularly nasty alien with a satanic appearance. Just like the weeping Angels aren’t actual angels, the beast was not actually Satan.
As many horrible things as the Doctors seen, it’d be just a drop in the total horror Biblical Hell would possess.
As for Freddy vs The Doctor, I’ll put my money on the doctor figuring how to get out of it. There’s been a bunch of teenage girls that can do it. Doctor should be able to do it in time for tea.
The “Devil” was some Great Old One-esque being, but we never got to really see its power.

On the other side of the “Freddy won’t be scared” argument, nothing Freddy does will scare the Doctor either, I mean really scare him.
He doesn’t assume control of your dream, that I’ve heard or seen. I thought he only inserts himself in, and if you have lucid dreams, you can survive (or have a really strong mind.)
“On the other side of the “Freddy won’t be scared” argument, nothing Freddy does will scare the Doctor either, I mean really scare him.”
===
He doesn’t have to be scared to die..
“Freddy is employed by Hell.”
-
Too bad “employed by Hell” does not equal “suffered in Hell”. It does not mean that he has seen the worst Hell has to offer or anywhere close to it.
Is it odd we’re using who’s seen worse? Also since Kreugers power comes from fear and The Doctor and Dream Lord are the only people around wouldn’t he be at the absolute weakest?
” does not mean that he has seen the worst Hell has to offer or anywhere close to it.”
he actualy should have seen the worst hell has to offer
he searched every corner of it untilhe found jason and he was intentionaly looking for the worst evils possible
“he searched every corner of it untilhe found jason and he was intentionaly looking for the worst evils possible”
-
I did not know that. Has the Hell in Freddy Kruger’s Universe been shown to be like the Hell in the Bible? If so, then this probably means that both of them won’t be able to scare the other, as what I have seen of Freddy isn’t particularly frightening to the Doctor.
When he was in Hell, he need fear to get him out, but it didn’t need to be from Hell. So, if the people in Elm Street and around it still fear him, he should be fine. Also, hasn’t he been able to go to different towns before they’d heard of him? I could be wrong.
” Has the Hell in Freddy Kruger’s Universe been shown to be like the Hell in the Bible? ”
fire and brimstone, demons is called hell i think its safe to say yes

ash williams vs jason ?yes?no?
True but the TARDIS is a pocket dimension on the interior. Plus its 13/14 to one. Every incarnation had a distinct personality that is still there so eleven Doctors, The Watcher is a version that merged into the Doctor. DreamLord, and if God Complex was any indication Valeyard is traipsing around in the dark corners of the Doctors mind.
Didn’t Ash Freddy and Jason clash in a canon comic?
was that comic canon?
never read it just seen pics
same with ash vs marvel zombies
“yes I’m sure Jason’s mind has similar memories to the Doctors”
-
Freddy Vs. Jason is non-canon so its irrelevant anyway.
-
“Also since Kreugers power comes from fear and The Doctor and Dream Lord are the only people around wouldn’t he be at the absolute weakest?”
-
He only gains strength from fear in Freddy Vs. Jason, which again, is non-canon.
-
What’s being overlooked here is the incarnation of Freddy being used; aside from the Freddy Vs. Jason one you also have the original, the one in the latest movie, and the New Nightmare incarnation.
-
for those of you unfamiliar with New Nightmare Freddy: in Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, Freddy isn’t actually Freddy, because the “setting” is real life, meaning Freddy is just a fictional character, he is actually a demonic entity that has taken on the persona of Freddy (and has stuck with it because it particularly enjoys it); think of it as a boogyman type character, what gives it life is its legend itself, if the world completely forgets about it it ceases to exist, thus it became Freddy, to remind the world that it does exist by influencing Wes Craven to create the Freddy movies.
-
Unlike “actual” Freddy however, the New Nightmare isn’t completely reliant upon dreams, once it has grown so powerful over time it can literally reach into and warp reality itself. Were it not for plot shielding the main character would have stood no chance at all against it. (If I recall correctly it was for the very reason that it became Freddy that it became vulnerable to her, because she was the actress that played the main character of the first Freddy movie, and that allowed her to defeat him…)
-
Going back to normal Freddy, he does in fact control the deam world and dominates you regardless of how brave/strong willed/etc you are, in, I belive it was the 4th movie, when one of the characters faced Freddy in the dream world, he fought against Freddy and became brave, he overcame his fears and became the super hero he had created in his comics, he then dealt multiple fatal wounds to Freddy and began to walk away triumphantly; however, Freddy stands back up completely unharmed and becomes Super Freddy, he then reduces the character to nothing more than a thin piece of comic book paper and drains the color out of him, and then promptly tears him to pieces (and even writes his own comic book of the encounter to boot).
www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPOLtaosJcY
(There are multiple occasions of Freddy transforming a character in the dream world into something else (within reason mind you, he doesn’t turn them into a frog or anything silly like that…. they remain humanoid we’ll say that much….)
-
The only way to beat Freddy in the dream world (without plot shielding) is to escape the dream, but in the end it is only a momentary respite really, you’ll be back soon enough.
-
Fears got nothing to do with it.
Interesting.
Though I think this is turning out to be a near-exact argument to that of MC vs Freddy, that is, who has seen worst in their lifetime?
freddy vs jason is canon
“Though I think this is turning out to be a near-exact argument to that of MC vs Freddy, that is, who has seen worst in their lifetime?”
-
I’m curious but looking at the last few pages of that debate I’m struggling to see how MC got the award for that match, from what I know of Freddy, MC should have been as helpless as anyone else against Freddy. (And why people brought up Cortana at all I’m puzzled by, she’s not part of chief’s mind so how would she be part of him in the dream world to help him….? That would be like me having my laptop in a dream… unfortunately said laptop can be manipulated by Freddy… making it worthless anyway (and probably even likely to be used against me to lead me astray.)
-
I’d still like to know which incarnation of Freddy we are using….
“freddy vs jason is canon”
-
No it is not. Its a crossover with a conveniently twisted plot and nothing more.
newline owns both charachters
ill look for the mini documentry about its making
but newline considers it canon
Freddy has only dealt with human minds with the human scope of experiences. The Doctor experienced more in a decade than most humans experience in their entire life.
It’s entirely possible that anything Freddy can come up with will be meaningless to the Doctor’s mind. It’s entirely possible that even the most detailed illusion Freddy can devise simply won’t fool a time lord. Considering the vast experience the Doctor commands how long does Freddy have before he’s sealed away in a hell of his own making?
Actually, me saying it isn’t canon isn’t enough for me, I should say why it isn’t as well.
-
1. Its not created by any of the people who were invovled in creating Freddy and Jason.
-
2. It doesn’t follow the story progression of Jason; at the time Freddy Vs. Jason is made, canonically Jason should have already become a demon in Jason VIIII: Jason Goes to Hell, that fact alone would have evened the playing field as both Freddy and Jason would have been servants of Hell.
-
3. Jason Vs. Freddy shows quite clearly that Jason can drown to death, which is false. Jason cannot be drowned. (Anymore at least.)
-
4.In not a single other movie does Freddy require the fear of his victims to gain power. Not A Single One. (Other Incarnations Included.)
-
5. In Freddy Vs. Jason, by simply holding onto Freddy when you exit the dream world you can pull Freddy into reality where he loses all his powers. Once again, incorrect and blatantly false.
-
The list goes on but those reasons are more than enough to contradict the actual two individual story lines that I need not go on to prove my point.
-
Its a fun movie to watch and all, and quite entertaining to me personally at that, but that doesn’t make it canon.
“It’s entirely possible that anything Freddy can come up with will be meaningless to the Doctor’s mind. It’s entirely possible that even the most detailed illusion Freddy can devise simply won’t fool a time lord.”
-
Its not an illusion, its an actual part of the dream world, of which Freddy has nearly complete control, and removes control from his victims. If a person were really in control of his own dream when facing Freddy, then they could simply imagine themselves to be the most powerful thing they could possibly imagine to face Freddy, which they do not. If a character (aside from the plot shielded main characters) does something spectacular in the dream world, it is only because Freddy wanted them to, and he always one-ups them. He just finds it entertaining.
The Dream Lord was also able to control dreams, so its not like Freddy is the only one with that ability. The Dream Lord controlled the dreams, even when the Doctor knew they were dreaming.
Okay, some are underestimating the Doctor here. Some are also underestimating Freddy… He doesn’t wander into your dreams and let whatever is happening happen. He brings your worst fears forward and unleashes them on you, twists your mind to his will.
Think of the fear the Doctor has felt in the past. Daleks that won’t fall, Cybermen that take his loved ones. Amy dying, rose dying, Martha dying,… All his loved ones dying just out of reach. This is the man who became damn near hysterical because, just once, everybody lived.
…Now change it. Make him relive every time he failed someone. Every death. Every near miss becomes a just missed, every alien, beast and evil being revisits him just to win and leave him alone with only his thoughts, and freddies gloating laughter…
Y’know, forcing the doctor to face his worst fears might not actually be a good idea.
Push the Doctor into a corner and he gets rather mean. Out of all the evils in the universe, out of all the monsters that exist, the Doctor may as well be the scariest one.
www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=zKr7uuDMkns&NR=1
Put the doctor into hell and chances are he’ll conquer it within a week. Kill the doctor and he’ll regenerate in a matter of minutes. Enslave him and you’ll find yourself holding your own chains. The only thing Freddy can show the doctor that can beat him is the time lord himself and the Doctor faces that every damn day.
freddy only has to kill him once to win.
since the battlefield id the dream world killing the doctor will force him to leave and ressurect alive
so its a kill/bfr win for freddy
People, you are forgetting that it is the Dream Lord that Freddy first comes into contact with, i.e. the Doctor with no rules, and a sadistic personality. The Doctor, when forced into a corner, isn’t just going to whimper and die. He has some good psychic barrier feats in some of the Eighth Doctor Audios/books, and throughout the show, the Doctor is often put in situations where his rules keep him from doing something bad. He doesn’t have those rules as the Dream Lord, so either way it won’t be a walk in the park for Freddy.
-
Except the fact that you see Freddy pull Jason’s mask down to the earth, setting up for Freddy Vs Jason. Which does set up the opening for why Freddy sent Jason to Elm Street.
-
4.In not a single other movie does Freddy require the fear of his victims to gain power. Not A Single One. (Other Incarnations Included.)
-
Final Nightmare. Only one child was left in Springwood. John Doe, spreading the fear to Maggie (his daughter) and the other victims, brought them to Springwood to add to his influence. While he was powerful enough to erase his victims from reality, he never attacked anyone that didn’t know of him (or the adults). This was never brought up because every child was already fearing him. In this case, an entire generation of kids existed that doesn’t know him. The ones that do get sent off to an insane asylum.
-
5. In Freddy Vs. Jason, by simply holding onto Freddy when you exit the dream world you can pull Freddy into reality where he loses all his powers. Once again, incorrect and blatantly false.
-
If you ignore the first Nightmare movie: where she did pull him out of the dream and outside one teleport, doesn’t show anything other than superhumanly strong and durable. Or Final Nightmare where that happened all over again.
“Except the fact that you see Freddy pull Jason’s mask down to the earth, setting up for Freddy Vs Jason. Which does set up the opening for why Freddy sent Jason to Elm Street.”
-
Nope, because that’s not how Freddy “gets in touch” with Jason at the beginning of Freddy Vs. Jason. He awakens Jason from the “seemingly dead” state that Jason appears in at the beginning of most Friday The 13th movies by entering his dreams. Freddy’s glove grabbing Jason’s mask in Jason Goes to Hell is just a cameo. Of course this makes it conflict with Jason being banished back to hell at the end of Jason Goes to Hell (not too mention that in that movie he was killed by a Vorhees, the only thing that can technically put him down for good (although granted for the sake of the franchise nothing can truly kill Jason forever.)
-
“If you ignore the first Nightmare movie: where she did pull him out of the dream and outside one teleport, doesn’t show anything other than superhumanly strong and durable. Or Final Nightmare where that happened all over again.”
-
Alright, I’ll concede you that one, to be completely honest I haven’t seen the first or last Nightmare on Elm Streets; however I decided its time I got a little more educated on them so I decided to watch The Final Nightmare the last hour and a fourty minutes (hilarious movie by the way…).
-
“Only one child was left in Springwood. John Doe, spreading the fear to Maggie (his daughter) and the other victims, brought them to Springwood to add to his influence. While he was powerful enough to erase his victims from reality, he never attacked anyone that didn’t know of him (or the adults). ”
-
But he did! In The Final Nightmare, for the first portion of the movie “John Doe” can’t remember almost anything at all, not even who Freddy is until they investigate. The other 3 kids gain no knowledge of Freddy whatsoever other than what they evesdrop about the trip: that this kid has memory loss and that Maggie thinks taking him to this town will jog his memory. They don’t know anything else about the subject. Yet before any of the 3 of them even find out anything about Freddy, 1 of them meets him in the dream world (well they don’t see Freddy, but Freddy does influence his dream), and 2 of them die, with no prior knowledge of him at all. It wasn’t that they knew about Freddy, it was that they were in Springwood, Freddy could only affect people living in Springwood (thus the entire plot of the movie and why he needed his daughter to be able to leave Springwood since there were no more children in the town.)
-
“he never attacked anyone that didn’t know of him (or the adults).”
-
Not only could he not leave Springwood, he tells us why he didn’t kill the adults. When he was still alive they took his daughter away from him (probably for murdering his wife, but its never stated for which of his offences exactly), that’s why this all started: revenge. They took his daughter away from him, so he would take all of their children away from them. Killing them would be counter-productive to his goals, he wanted them to know exactly how he felt.
-
Freddy Vs. Jason is stated to take place 20 years after Freddy Dies: The Final Nightmare. But there can’t possibly be a generation of kids that knew about him (like the movie claims), because he had killed every kid in town, and while the townspeople of the time all knew of (and feared) him, they were very strict upon never speaking of him (crazy people like the schoolteacher aside). There were no kids to be “afraid of him” to be sent away to that asylum.
-
Not only that, but going back to the whole “he draws power from fear” thing. Completely wrong. Freddy gains all of his power from the dream demons as seen in The Final Nightmare, all they ask in return are the souls of his victims, which make him even stronger. Fear has literally nothing whatsoever to do with how powerful Freddy is or whos dreams he can enter.
-
Freddy in Freddy Vs. Jason is closer to New Nightmare Freddy than he is Original Freddy. Like the New Nightmare, if people forget him completely he ceases to exist, Original Freddy can do whatever he damn well pleases when he pleases and where he pleases after escaping being trapped in Springwood; afterall “Every Town Has an Elm Street…”
-
Moving back to Jason, there are plot holes with him as well. If Freddy Vs. Jason stayed true to the storylines of both franchises, Jason would have all of his demonic mumbo jumbo, which would automatically win the fight for him, he would always be able to come back from hell, and Freddy would be completely incapable of killing him, only a Vorhees can kill Jason, and Freddy isn’t part of his family.
-
It also would have been impossible for Freddy to enter Jason’s dreams to resurrect him. At the end of The Final Nightmare, when Freddy dies the Dream Demons leave him to save themselves, effectively removing his power over dreams. For all intents and purposes he’s just another random dead guy after that. Ya he “Searched through Hell to find someone who could remind people that he exists”, wouldn’t do him any good if he had absolutely no power though.
-
The people of Springwood also wouldn’t formulate a way to “defeat” Freddy, because there is nothing to defeat (and no children), Freddy’s dead (also, he should have been able to attack the adults that knew of him in Freddy Vs. Jason, but for some reason he did not, which would have meant he wouldn’t have even needed Jason at all, he could have just used them, which he would have if he were Original Freddy. But he’s not, he’s a plot twisted Freddy that they used to be able to make the movie.)
-
Its a crossover and nothing more, get over it and move on.
-
P.S.
@The Imperator
Mind specifying which incarnation of Freddy? While its safe to assume Original Freddy, it would be nice to know whether it is Original, Freddy Vs. Jason or New Nightmare none the less.
Hmmm, didn’t know about all those different Freddys, I say the original.
“Hmmm, didn’t know about all those different Freddys, I say the original.”

Thank you. Nothing better than the classics eh? lol
Seems I also need to rewatch those movies.

Though being horror movies, continuity tends to be thrown out the window every sequel. Like between Friday 7 and 8. When did Jason gain the powers of teleportation and where did it went?
-
Or between Nightmare 1 and 2, how can he control birds and where does that power go? Or of 8 and 9, what happened to Jacob? Did he die?

“Freddy Vs. Jason is stated to take place 20 years after Freddy Dies: ”
when is this stated it should be 5 years going by charachter backstory
“when is this stated it should be 5 years going by charachter backstory”
-
It can’t be 5 years because there would be no children, especially teenagers, in town whom to kill. Freddy was killed in 1991. These were High School Seniors meaning they were at the very least 16-17 years old. 5 Years is nowhere near enough time to have an entire generation of high school children since that means Freddy vs Jason would have taken place in 1996 which it clearly did not. It probably would have taken place longer then that since the post-traumatic stress of everyone in town losing their children would have been a tough pill to swallow meaning others might have moved there and then started a family. The fact that Freddy vs Jason took place in 2003 leads credence to the movie being bullshit is due to the fact that the children would have all been 13 years old if the parents even bothered having children directly after Freddy was killed. Chronologically it is impossible. The movie would have had to taken place at least in 2009. However that too is an impossibility since they caught and locked Jason up in 2008 in Jason X and had him under lock down for 2 years before they put him in Cryo so he basically hasn’t seen the light of day since 08.
“Without plot shielding/PIS Jason rapes.”

Debatable. Ash technically is still half-deadite not to mention has double barrel shotgun and a chainsaw for a hand and has displayed high levels of ingenuity. Would he be able to kill Jason? Doubtful. Would he be able to permanently disable him? Yep.
The Dream Lord, compared to Freddy, doesn’t seem that powerful. More like a Lucid Dream, except a darker part of your mind is controlling it. I don’t see anything that wouldn’t stop Freddy from doing what he does, seizing control of the dream and killing them there. Freddy routinely kills people that have Lucid Dreams. Actually, as I recall, he even defeated someone who had dream powers to bring others into her dream to help fight Freddy.
“Debatable. Ash technically is still half-deadite not to mention has double barrel shotgun and a chainsaw for a hand and has displayed high levels of ingenuity. Would he be able to kill Jason? Doubtful. Would he be able to permanently disable him? Yep.”
-
Except that Jason would have some info at the beginning and know that Ash has the chainsaw, and would take him out from afar. If it’s Uber-Jason or the one from the newest movie, it’s even worse for Ash. Even if he did go h2h with Ash, it’d still favor Jason due to his immense strength and ability to tank ridiculous amounts of damage. Perhaps not rape, but still a high chance Jason adds 1 to his body count.
Probably +1 and a trophy (if he’s got anywhere to put it.) Anyway, while Freddy most likely take control of the dream, the Doctor may be able to beat him anyway (you can still beat someone who controls the situation, it’s just much harder.)

True enough lol.
-
“Like between Friday 7 and 8. When did Jason gain the powers of teleportation and where did it went?”
-
Jason could teleport? That seems to slip my memory of those movies; however as far as I’m aware throughout most of the Friday the 13th series Jason had the slasher star’s staple ability of “If you’re not loking directly at me (during a chase) I can be anywhere”.
-
@Fallstar
-
“irrelevent newline owns the rights to both and can do wat ever they want. by this logic nightmare 2,4,5,6,7 are all non canon as wes craven had nothing todo with them. he also hated two”
-
I was not saying if something wasn’t created by Wes Craven or whoever created Jason that it isn’t canon, I was saying that if it was I probably wouldn’t even contest it being canon to begin with. But its not, and that only partially lends to it not being canon.
-
Like Akuma said, there is generally some continuity errors in horror movies, Freddy Vs. Jason seems to take the cake there, it completely ignores things that were established in the original series to create a plot that they could agree upon and use to create the movie. (If I recal correctly the planning for creating Freddy Vs. Jason took an absurd amount of time because they simply couldn’t find the right way to do it; I think they went through around a dozen different scripts/plotlines before they finally decided upon the one they went with.)
-
There are simply too many chronological (among other) errors for it to fit into either series well. Its just a movie done for fun for classic horror fans.
“of “If you’re not loking directly at me (during a chase) I can be anywhere”.”
IIRC slasherporting is what its called its not a real ability like teleporting its plot
“Except that Jason would have some info at the beginning and know that Ash has the chainsaw, and would take him out from afar. -
Last time I checked Jason hardly uses ranged weapons. The only one I can recall were either thrown, a harpoon gun, and a bow and arrow. Ash also has info though plus the range advantage in a double barrel Remington.
“If I recal correctly the planning for creating Freddy Vs. Jason took an absurd amount of time because they simply couldn’t find the right way to do it; I think they went through around a dozen different scripts/plotlines before they finally decided upon the one they went with.”
true yea its the reason we have new nightmare and jason x newline needed something to stall fans
and iirc it was 21 scipts. some were ridiculose like jason saving a pregnant woman from freddy another had jason driving ferari
“you can still beat someone who controls the situation, it’s just much harder.)”
-
When someone controls the reality that you “exist” in, and can kill you with literally anything in it, you exceed a difficulty rating of “Harder”

There was a kill where he chased a girl up a boat’s mass. No one above her. When she reached a good height, guess who shows up. There’s the not looking technique and then there’s teleporting.
“When someone controls the reality that you “exist” in, and can kill you with literally anything in it, you exceed a difficulty rating of “Harder””

I agree. People sleep on the amount of power in the dream world Freddy actually has. He not only has control over the environment he has control over the people inside the environment. This is seen when he turned a woman into a roach, fused a guy into his motorcycle and drove it into a truck, etc etc.
@ReDruM: You forget, if they’re strong enough, a person stuck in a dream can become a Dream Warrior!
“@ReDruM: You forget, if they’re strong enough, a person stuck in a dream can become a Dream Warrior!”
-
lol true. But they’re all dead though except for 1 so in the end it really didn’t matter.
Freddy get’s owned lol.
Is the Doctor in his TARDIS in this scenario? Because you just need to take a look at The Forgotten to see what happens when people try to take over the Doctor’s mind inside of the TARDIS. Basically, it does not end well for the attacker.
dear mr ass-ass in face, it is canon and you are being a douce-fag (fag means a bundle of sticks in this context not the offenseve term for an obnoxious harly riding assholes) and saying your afraid of freddy is like saying you are scared of a braindead possum.
or saying alf or et is the scariest alien creature.
