Professor X starts in his mansion, Ravenor starts on the moon with a landing craft that will take Ravenor to the mantion.
Ravenor does not have psycannon, nor can the lander fight.
Professor X comes from the X-Men series of Marvel Comics. Gideon Ravenor is making his first appearance representing a fan favorite, Warhammer 40k. Professor X is a powerful psychic and has taught some of the most powerful mutants to control their powers. Ravenor is a renowned Imperial Inquisitor of the Ordo Xeno, who is also an already-potent psychic. This is a battle of the minds.
Can the Professor teach the Inquisitor a lesson? Or will Warhammer gain another victory for their side?

Initial bets with Xavier, Dude’s insanely powerful.
.
Also, first.
Same, siding with Xavier for now, but admittedly don’t know much about Ravenor. Anyone care to put up some feats for this guy?
I never realized how much of a beefcake Prof X is. What the hell has he been taking? I want whatever lets him get so ripped while sitting in a chair all day.
It’s all upper body. Bet he’s got chicken legs still, Lulz.
Ravenor is supposed to be an Alpha level psyker, but from what I’ve heard his feats aren’t really in that titan crushing/army killing/world corrupting area. Haven’t bothered to read his trilogy since its not as good as the Eisenhorn trilogy, though I hear there’s going to be a new trilogy coming soon where he fights his former mentor, Eisenhorn; that ought to have some good feats right? Anyway, going with X for now.
Btw, isn’t Ravenor’s picture actually an Eisenhorn model? Kinda lol’d when I noticed it.

RAMMING SPEED!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
If memory serves Xavier’s going berserk warranted a Marvel wide crossover that ended up with a whole crapload of high-end superheroes (including the Avengers) sacrificing themselves to stop him.
Didn’t xavier somehow absorb Magnetos latent physic power and add it to his own for the onslaught arc?

I believe that’s Onslaught which is an entirely different animal from Professor X. He absorbed Franklin Richards, Magneto, and Nate Grey. At his highest level seen he was a reality warper who could pretty much do anything he wants.
I love Professor X and know nothing or Ravenor, and I’d guess the former has more sources for feats. I’m siding with him for now as well.
~
I rather view him as the Marvel equivalent of Gandalf/Dumbledore.
Makes sense. I know Prof. X is really powerful, but I remember he got quite a boost to be onslaught.
@Redrum: I also posted a few retorts in the terminators vs xenos thread. =D
Here’s everything you need to know about Ravenor
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Gideon_Ravenor#.UCZwKYl5mc0
Yeah as much as I love 40K I don’t see Ravenor winning so my vote goes towards Prof. X
X can walk and use psychic knives like psylocke now.
He can use physic knives on top of the usual stuff? This is starting to feel like a stomp.

Easy, just beat your meat all day.

Heh, it’s like Joe from family guy…
Yea…Professor X takes this, Gideon’s psyker powers got nothing on his own, it says he can defeat all but the strongest psykers, and I think Xavier is in that category lol
ravenor is pretty darn powerful considering he can track and read peoples minds from orbit, but sadly i think professor x wins this.
Well, let’s give the dark horse a sporting chance, at least. Does anyone have any good feats for Ravenor?
Does the professor have cerebro?
Ravenor can read a hive’s worth of peoples minds from orbit and could pop them (individually, maybe in some groups) or control them.
.
Unless we powerscale and make him more powerful than he was ever shown to be I am pretty sure X destroys him.
” Does anyone have any good feats for Ravenor?”
-
He can track and take over minds from orbit, and in a mind battle, he is powerful enough to rend metal when fighting with his mind. I can put up quotes soon.
-
Can someone who knows more about X give a incarnation that makes things ballanced, while all marvel characters probably have a time where they are op, hopefully there is a time where it is even.
This is a quote from Ravenor fighting a slightly more powerful psyker with his mind:
“Howling, Kinsky tore free. Reality was so badly damaged where I had pinned him, the noxious, infernal light on the warp shone through the punctures”
-
This is what other people experienced when Ravenor was fighting:
“…Suddenly, he could smell flowers.
‘lavender!’ she cried.
Then salt. Then charcoal. Then stagnant water. Then blood.
‘Throne!’ Preest said, covering her nose and coughing. A huge raking split appeared across the length of the deck plating, showering metal shards in all directions.”
-
The side effects of his mind can rend metal and other things like…
-
“With sheer force of will, I broke out of his trap. The psi-shockwave burst windows down the entire length length of the street, and ripped security shutters off their hinge-mounts.”
-
He can hide in peoples minds:
-
“It (his enemies mind) probed close. I forgot myself, forgot Gideon Ravenor, and became Usno Usnor. My back ached…(details about the peon’s life)…The blue fireball (the enemy) hovered over the workline for several minutes, and then, frustrated, flew up and away out though the roof.”
-
He fights by shapeshifting his mind and throwing mindtraps and other attacks.
“Can someone who knows more about X give a incarnation that makes things ballanced, while all marvel characters probably have a time where they are op, hopefully there is a time where it is even.”
-
There have been timee when he’s powerless. Other then that, even classic X was scanning the stars, fighting the phoenix, and reaching minds half a star system away.
Can Prof. X trap ravenor in the astral plane
Woah. Prof X has some muscles.
Damn, did Prof X start working out in the danger room with the X-men now.
Seriously there’s a reason most people don’t panic about the Phoenix when he’s around. there are few people that can even touch him in the psychic department.
Whoa! I think x has been working out!( if you know what I mean)

Xavier feats:)
Telepathy: Xavier can read the minds of others within a 250 mile radius.
Telepathic Illusion: the ability to cause others to see or experience events which are not actually occurring.
Telepathic Cloak: the ability to hide one’s presence from others by making oneself invisible by clouding the minds of others.
Psi Link: Xavier can create psychic links with others.
Telepathic Camouflage: Xavier can make others see him as someone else by manipulating the minds of others to make them see him with another appearance.
Mind Blast: Xavier is able to place massive amounts of information inside the mind of others to cause extreme mental pain on them.
Mind Control: Xavier can also manipulate the minds of others.
Mind Possession: the ability to possess the minds of others, controlling someone’s mind for oneself.
Mind Alteration: the ability to alter the minds of others.
Mental Amnesia: Xavier can cause people to forget certain memories. He can cause large groups of people to forget things.
Psionic Shield: the ability to erect a shield that is used to protect one’s mind.
Psionic Blasts: the ability to emit blasts of psionic energy which don’t harm its victims physically but mentally instead.
Astral Projection: the ability to control one’s astral self.
Mental Detection: Xavier can detect nearby mutants.
Mind Transferral: If Xavier were to die, he could transfer his mind and powers to a host body.
Information Absorption: He is able to quickly absorb and store information.
Telekinesis: He possesses minor telekinetic abilities.
. Xavier’s telepathy once covered the entire world but Magneto altered the Earth’s electromagnetic field to restrict Xavier’s telepathic range.[14] While not on Earth, Xavier’s natural telepathic abilities have reached across space to make universal mental contact with multiple alien races.[15] With extreme effort, he can greatly extend the range of his telepathy. He can learn foreign languages by reading the language centers of the brain of others.
is able to project from his mind ‘bolts’ composed of psychic energy, enabling him to stun the mind of another person into unconsciousness, inflict mental trauma, or even cause death
Guess he’s pretty badass. Also this guy xorn healed and then recrippled x. Ironic aint it?
It seems this was a very short match, then.
Ravenor did pin a man to a wall and crush him to death, using his telekenises, and physical attacks against him would most likely prove pointless since his chair has armor in common with a 40k era tank.
Wait…Xaviers can read minds at 250 miles…but then you said he can read minds at galactic ranges? Seems like conflicting statements.
I know little or Ravenor, but if he is an Alpha level psyker, then thats more than fair match for Yavier.

I think Xavier’s range changed cause magneto restricted it on earth. The 250 mile range is the limited range. Off earth is another story.
Well what exactly is stopping Ravenor from wareing Prof X? Also if he is stated to be an Alpha in the books why can’t he use Alpha feats not mention why can’t he rip X a new one with his pyscannon which his used for combating physics and physic entities?
” can’t he rip X a new one with his pyscannon which his used for combating physics and physic entities?”
-
I was wanting it to be a mind battle not a shooting battle.
-
“Well what exactly is stopping Ravenor from wareing Prof X?”
-
I would think that X could defend himself, but that is an option for Ravenor.
Ravenor is not an alpha-class psyker. If he was, he wouldn’t have lost to Kinsky, who was, if I recall, a Gamma-class.
He’s not a combat oriented psyker and is probably beta level at best, with his strengths in investigative powers instead.
I don’t know much about Professor X, but if he’s even half competent then he can smash Ravenor to pieces.
Some stuff I found involving Charles

Both of these guys are more of support roles rather than combative. An alpha level psyker can tear starships out of orbit and destroy worlds, as seen in the last HH book. Rav is not on that level. His skills lean more towards information gathering.
__
Xavier has almost no real offensive powers either. His attacks are evasive and trickery. He can manipulate most minds like putty. He has only shown to have offensive capabilities in a few short stories that have never been reconfirmed, and in the comic book world if it only happened once it’s disregarded.
__
Both have very powerful minds that lean towards assisting not fighting. Rav has more going in the line of combat. I’m not sure if his will is powerful enough to see through Xavier’s mind tricks though.
__
Hmmm.. I’m going to speculate and say that the Professor has just enough edge to convince Rav he won and watch him go home feeling very smug.

He’s shown to cause people physical pain through his power as well and currently in AvX he’s shown Psi-knife things.

Ravenor is mainly support, but he burns out people’s unprotected minds effortlessly, can shatter glass as a side effect of his mind passing from orbit, his mind can rend metal and once he altered the minds of a city wide manhunt to hide the person they were looking for from orbit.
