A very straight forward match:
Diablo and his demonic legions, including the other lords of hell up against the archdemon and his full darkspawn hordes (Dragon Age).
Takes place in an uninhabited Middle-Earth.
Which side wins?

Initial bet on Diablo, but that’s about it.
Diablo probably.
Likely Diablo I guess
I’m thinking Diablo, especially if the darkspawn are as stupid as the protagonist from the first game and
“ok i’ll stick this shiny rock in my head, nothing bad will happen!!”
^(example of said stupidity)
Who gets the big volcano?
@Hermit
Mt doom? Is that what you mean, cause diablo looks perfect for a volcano lair.
@ Smeag
Correct.
i don’t no much about either could someone please educate me on them
Diablo might be hurting himself. Darkspawn blood is toxic, and destroys the mind and body, and anyone without protection from it can turn into a darkspawn.
Are Abominations included with the Darkspawn?
Which Diablo? Regular Diablo or Prime Evil Diablo (final boss in Diablo 3)? Because Prime Evil Diablo is pretty badass.

Bearing in mind he is fighting the Archangel of Valor (?) and the commander of all Heavens armies.

It depends. Diablo is pretty much pure evil and has corrupted Angels before so not sure how much effect Darkspawn Blood will actually have on him, or how much protection it will provide to any Darkspawn he might try and ‘corrupt’.
Initial bets are on Diablo. From what I can remember of Diablo II and I his various fiends, demon hordes, and undead should be able to outnumber the Darkspawn. Most of the various creatures are much, much bigger than what I know of the Darkspawn.
-
Then again I know little on Darkspawn numbers or creatures under their control.
-
Still, initial bets with Diablo, cant corrupt nothing but magic and bones can you now?
I’m pretty sure in-game feats are massively toned down from the canon in the diablo franchise for protagonists and bad guys alike.
The nephalem in D3 are compared to Uldyssian after all, who if memory serves was humongously badass.
the picture of Diablo over there is in his The Prime Evil version, not one of Prime Evils, but this match’s description clearley stated that Lesser Evils are also present…Does that means we have The Prime Evil which possess all power of the 7 Arch-Demons and 6 other Arch-Demons individually? In that case though I don’t know many thing about these Darkspawns I am with the army of the Burning Hell which technically have 13 Arch-Demons…
for a second ithought it was diablo vs shadowspawn but its no so no intrest

Iirc the lore correctly the Darkspwan taint fucks with everything from the people, to the soil, and they started out by tainting a portion of the fade which the spiritual realm where spirits, demon, dreams, magic, etc reside.
Well, that gives them a massive advantage right then and there.
-
But I must ask, what does it take to be resistant to Darkspawn Corruption?
And how long does it take for the corruption to take effect and turn them into Darkspawn?
Over a course of a few minutes, it seems.
As for resistance, you have to drink the blood. If it doesn’t kill you on the spot, it will make you immune to the taint. A rare few can withstand the poison.
“But I must ask, what does it take to be resistant to Darkspawn Corruption?”
-
Grey Warden have some kind of ritual involving drinking prepared blood that if you survive makes you immune. However iirc, it shortens you life.

“And how long does it take for the corruption to take effect and turn them into Darkspawn?”
-
Doesn’t seem to take long assuming you survive and it also seems to have the side effect of turning you crazy.
Making a Broodmother I think take a few days though.
Well, we can count out the crazy part for most of the fodder Diablo and his Demons use. As they sometimes lack a Conscious or brain.
-
But that seems to have turned the tables.
Though… If Diablo and his Demons figured out how to become immune then I’m certain they’d survive. Shortening of their lives wouldn’t matter cause they live forever… right?
The only known way is to drink it. And if it doesn’t kill, it turns. It’s called the taint for a reason.
“ey Warden have some kind of ritual involving drinking prepared blood that if you survive makes you immune. However iirc, it shortens you life.”
If I recall, it’s also not just any Darkspawn blood, but the blood of an Archdemon specifically. Could be wrong though, I’ll have to double check.

Made a mistake, People turned into Ghouls were the ones who have shorten life spans.
Grey Wardens eventually go to the deep roads for fight till he/she dies battle after a certain amount of years to avoid eventually succumbing to the Darkspawn corruption.

its regular blood one of the first missions in DA:O is colecting blood from dead enemys for the ritual
Ok, so I think Diablo and his Demons are smart enough to figure out the corruption and how to counteract it.
-
Though, I think for diversity of creatures/demons I think Diablo can outdo the Darkspawn. Hordes of undead, Gargantuan’s, Goblins and Shamans…
“its regular blood one of the first missions in DA:O is colecting blood from dead enemys for the ritual”
I know, but I’m pretty sure they mix some Archdemon blood in there too, which is why it’s a big secret and nobody else can replicate it by just taking blood from dead Darkspawn.
Or they say its a secret so nobody tries to do something stupid. Like, I don’t know, drink darkspawn blood. >_>
“Ok, so I think Diablo and his Demons are smart enough to figure out the corruption and how to counteract it.”

I guess they could keep an eye out for anyone who might be turning and kill them. Or in the case of trying to immunize them wait for a certain amount of time to kill those soldiers before it’s to late.
The thing with the Taint is that it comes with mutations. Like the giants, for example. They were Qunari, but grew into massive beasts that are a bitch to take down. No telling what mutations will carry over.
Broodmothers are another example.
Okay, a bit delayed, but I just checked and the Joining is typically done with a single drop of Archdemon blood, but it is possible to magically treat regular Darkspawn blood to work as well. Apparently it has to do with the amount of taint present in the blood.
For example, Word of God discusses it briefly in the fourth post here:

The idea that the darkspawn taint could affect the great evils is a huge NLF if I’ve ever seen one.
Given the nature of demons in Diablo I’m very skeptical to the idea that any of them could be corrupted, but the great evils being affected is just plain hilarious.
Not that it matters much, the darkspawn are hilariously outnumbered and outgunned.

I agree. Has the Taint ever effected anything quite like the denizens of Diablo or anything on their scale of power not to mention brutality.

It infects people, animals, the land itself, dragons (who also happen to be gods), and the fabric of reality itself in the Fade. Why wouldn’t it infect a bunch of demons?
pretty sure that diablo has this one in the bag.

Cause maybe said Demons have demonstrated power that supersedes that of Dragon Age’s. Just saying the Taint infects anything is NFL. There has to be proof that it can infect something on the level of the Prime Evils which it has not demonstrated.
Also, because demons are spawned from the physical essence that used to embody all evil.
The darkspawn are the good guys in this fight, how is that corruption even supposed to infect the demons.
And the great evils (Who could likely solo) are both pure manifestations of evil and significantly more powerful than what we’ve seen the taint affect.
The biggest problems I see is A. Huge numbers of Darkspawn and B. Archdemons are said to be unkillable by non Grey Wardens.
@DEM
Yes and then again a loud no to point B.
archdemons can be killed by non grey wardens. however if a grey warden didn’t do the slaying the spirit of the archdemon will take possession of another darkspawn and eventually return to full strenght. this however counts as a kill by FP rules if i am correct. since he was killed at least once and therefore out of the match. provided other side killed him course
